CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

Website where all photos of all outfits mentioned is on my profile. 5 reviews gets next chapter early.

We're only about 10 minutes down the road when I tap Jax on the shoulder and lean close to his ear "Can you pull over a second?"

He pulls to the side of the road and rolls to a stop. "What's up?"

Readjusting myself on the seat I tuck the shirt back under my behind and undo the very bottom buttons, wrapping it round my thighs as well, sliding as close to Jax as I can I rest my head on his shoulder, "I'm good now."

He accelerates away from the gravelly area where he'd pulled over but we're barely 2 minutes further down the road when flashing lights come from behind us with the familiar sound of a siren.

I feel Jax's shoulders heave as he lets out a huge sigh before he pulls over again and flicks the stand down.

Looking over my shoulder I'm a little confused when David walks up beside us. Swivelling as far as I can in my seat I watch the progress being made towards us.

"Thought you were off duty tonight?" I ask as soon as he's level with us.

"I am, but I saw you both and noticed the lack of helmets." David states, his cop voice irritating me instantly.

"Well that's nice, but given you're not on duty you can't do anything about it. Jax is going out tomorrow to get a second one." I say, even though I know Jax hadn't decided to get a second helmet, if it's going to save us from David being an asshole tonight when I'm already tired and irritated I'll happily pay for the head protection myself.

"I will even bring the receipt to you to prove it, but in the meantime I'm tired. It's been a very long day, so we're going to go home now so I can go to sleep. Goodnight David."

Jax's shoulders are silently shaking as we pull away, leaving David standing on the side of the road scratching his head.

Because we're not in a hurry we're just past the industrial edges of town which hold Oswald Construction and the attached timber yards when the rumble of other bikes echoes down the road, headlights appear behind us and quickly catch up, Opie and Donna joining one side of Jax and Clay pulling to the other, Gemma's Caddy trails behind us as Jax and Clay switch road spots, the Presidents patch giving him automatic centre spot, both as protection and respect.

We bypass Gemma and Clays street where everyone pulls around the corner, a few minutes later we're pulling into Jax's driveway as the sound of another bike comes tearing down the road, seconds after Jax's bike is stopped Happy pulls in, he glares at Jax and then at me.

"Neither of you said you were leaving, found out second hand from Miss Ima not-so-Tite."

I have to lean heavily against Jax when I hear Happy's nickname for the blonde porn star that drives me insane I'm laughing so hard I'm struggling to stand up.

Jax shrugs "Didn't think you were ready to go, she's not that much of a handful."

Happy shakes his head, "You don't get it. Pres.' orders were 2 up at all times."

Jax looks guilty for a second as we walk to the door, well he and Happy walks, I practically get dragged, my shoulders are still shaking with laughter. "Clay was with us till their street."

"Don't matter; if he broke his own rule that's his deal, he said 2 up so it's 2 up." Happy flops down on the couch as I finally get control of myself. I go through to the kitchen, bringing back a plate of cupcakes, still giggling randomly I shove one in his hand.

Bursting back into laughter at the expression on Haps as he swipes frosting from the top of the cupcake, "Cheer up grumpy!" I manage to force out through the gasped breaths.

Placing the plate on the coffee table I go back to the kitchen and collect beers for the pair of them who seem to be having a competition on who can get the most cupcake in their mouths judging by their bulging cheeks and chocolate smeared lips.

Perching on the edge of the couch arm, "Sorry Jax about the whole David and helmet issue. We'll go tomorrow afternoon and I'll pay for a second one for you seeing I keep pushing you to get one, and he will now expect me to do as I said and bring proof."

Jax shrugs, "No problem Darlin', I really should have a second one, but it'll only help if I know I'll have a passenger pre leaving."

"True, not like you can carry a second helmet 'just in case'. Oh well, we'll go and have a look tomorrow and see what we find." I say, stretching over and grabbing a cupcake.

Happy's been sitting on the couch while we talk trying to demolish as many cupcakes as he can while Jax is distracted, the plate is about half empty when Jax finally notices and tries to pull the entire plate towards himself, spilling cupcakes onto the coffee table in the process.

Sighing I get to my feet, handing the cupcake I'd just taken a bite off to Jax I go to the kitchen and get a cloth and the cleaning spray to clean the mess up.

Dropping to my knees by the table I raise an eyebrow at the fact the cupcakes are gone, and the frosting that has stuck to the table is all that's left, swiping the icing off with a corner of the cloth I spray the table and wipe it down before standing up again.

"Are you going to have cupcake fights again?" I ask, they both shake their heads, "Good, if you do please clean up, I don't wanna have to face sticky sugary frosting mess in the morning."

They both look acceptably ashamed, even though I know it's a fake expression so I'll lighten up. Taking the spray and cloth to the kitchen I decide that it's time for me to take my tired self to bed. Walking down the hall I wave over my shoulder, "Night, don't eat too many cupcakes you'll get up sugar high and we have work to do tomorrow."

I hear footsteps behind me and I'm just pulling out a pair of pyjamas when Jax arrives in the door, "What work tomorrow?"

"More destruction." I reply, "I want to get as much stripped out as I can and, well, you guys enjoyed the demolition so much, and I have more cupcakes as bribery."

"Alright!" Jax sounds excited about the prospect of demolishing my newly purchased home and the promise of more cupcakes even though he's just stuffed another 4 into himself.

"Just remember, I do want the house standing!" I exclaim as he walks back to the living room, the half wave I get as he goes doesn't fill me with the greatest confidence, but I know if they break it too much Gem will make them fix it.

Changing into my Betty Boop camo pj's I slide into Jax's bed, listening to their voices floating down the hall it doesn't take long before I'm starting to drift off.
