"Shit, shit, shit!" Diving behind another fallen column, Vesper hissed as she held her hand firmly against her side, as if that would stop the bleeding. Fucking Psion got lucky with their shot while her back was turned. Biting her lip, she panted as she leaned there, peaking over to see how back her position was.

"If it wasn't dangerous, I would heal you right now."

Nodding her head, she peaked over the wall again, holding her side arm up, watching the Cabal trops trudge by. There was more than she anticipated.

"Ves, come in Vesper!"

Jumping hearing Amanda come in over the comms, she ducked back down, wheezing as her wound burned. This was probably going to scar. Closing her eyes, she hissed.

"VESPER! DO YOU COPY?!"

"C-Copy," she spit out, "pinned down, South Quad. Managed to sneak by before Psion got me. Surrounded." Cutting off the channel quickly, she sighed, feeling the familiar warmth of her Ghost healing her. "Safe enough now?" She teased, sitting up slowly, peaking out.

"Safe enough," he agreed as he reformed into his cootie catcher self.

They were just trudging around, speaking their weird guttural gibberish. Usual Cabal behavior, just different suits. Ducking as a red eye flashed, she grabbed Orion, yanking him down with her.

"Stay down, dipshit," she hissed. Last thing she needed was to lose him forever.

Picking up her side arm, she peaked out again, following the red eye back to it's position. To her surprise, it was a few good buildings away. As much as she hated to admit it, that was a good shot. Swapping to her rifle, she swallowed, peeking through her scope. She had the shot, it would just end up giving away her position.

"Get somewhere safe, Orion."

"You sure?"

"Now."

She didn't even look away as he faded out of sight, taking a deep breath as she counted the seconds, then she pulled the trigger. By the Light, let me have this shot. She prayed, then hooted as the shot hit home, the red eye dropping with the Psion.

But now she had every Cabal in her sector pointing their guns at her. "Fuck me."

Pulling out her hand cannon, shots began flying. It was almost… fun being pinned down like this, staring down the barrel of danger with a smile as she took shot after shot, knocking off helmets or sending enemies flying.

It was great.

Until one of the dying bastards sent an RPG at her. With incredible luck, it missed by a few good feet, unfortunately it was still close enough to blast her back. A cry escaped the white haired Awoken as she flew back, her body colliding with the wall. But she wasn't done. Grinning, she raised her gun and fired, watching as it hit the Legionnaire dead in the forehead.

Her whole body vibrated as she leaned there, reminding her of the first time she used her ultimate for the first time. That feeling of her pure essence, her Light being used for more than a target on her back, than being a walking symbol of peace. Raw, unbridled energy.

The taste of ozone on her tongue.

It was then a shape burst past her, a pole made of pure light in their hand, and a delighted laugh that made her hair stand on end. In a matter of seconds, all the Cabal were down and out. The figure turning towards her, pulling their hood down did she relax.

"You good, Ves?"

She couldn't help feeling both pride and annoyance at the familiar sight. "You know, for some snot nosed kid, you sure know how to annoy me."

Limping towards her, Vesper chuckled as the younger Awoken helped her walk. "Hey, kid, don't worry about me." Wincing as she sat down on a bench, she motioned towards the Cabal Warship. "Get going. You need to go save the world."

She could see the girl hesitate, this Guardian everyone was talking about. Now she really did owe this kid a drink. "Go, seriously, Rapture."

"Okay, okay." Taking a few deep breaths, she watched familiar teal eyes meet hers before they parted ways. There were some unasked questions she could see in those eyes. Seeking answers.

Vesper could see why Cayde talked about that one so much. She was definitely a rising star. Chuckling weakly, she sighed, feeling Orion healing her again.

"So much for playing it safe, huh?"

Shooting her Ghost a look, Vesper slowly stood up, shaking out the numbness. "Right now, there's no such thing." Walking to the edge of the wall, the white haired woman hopped up on it, pulling her rifle out, looking through the scope. Everything was looking good, the City was being taken back, so far, so good.

Aiming up at the ship, she smirked watching sections start to explode. Right on schedule.

"Ve-Vesper do you read?"

"Coming in clear," she answered, watching the ship for a moment longer before she looked around her perimeter. "South Quad secure, heading to secondary." Standing, she stopped, a shift in the air making her look towards the Traveler. Her stomach clenched. Something was happening.

"Forget secondary," Zavala's voice cut through suddenly, shouts and orders being heard in the background. "Reconvene at these coordinates, STAT."

Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, she tapped her ear piece, a holo visor popping into place. "Located. On my way, over."

Backtracking her way through part of the city, she kept low and to the shadows, taking out rogue Cabal here and there on her way. So far so good, she noted reluctantly as she entered the area of the rendezvous point. An explosion caught her attention, the Awoken's head shooting in the direction of the warship.

It was then she noticed everyone's attention was on Ghaul's ship, watching as it was imploding from the inside.

A feeling of pride was in her chest, knowing it was that snot nosed kid.

Cayde had told her Rapture had been awoken sometime after she left, reminding him a lot of herself. Same rash and reckless attitude, though she did seem to have more of a mind to follow orders, when she thought it was a good idea.

Vesper could see why the younger Awoken reminded him of someone from his past. Why they had such a strong bond. Definitely reminded her of the old days.

Taking a deep breath, everything sounded like it was going smoothly, Vesper thought. The battle had gone from the ship to the platform in front of the trap encasing the Traveler. Cheer's echoed around her as people watched the flashes of light, Rapture in the heat of battle.

Everything seemed to be going great, until someone managed to patch in a holo feed, and everyone got to see first hand what Rapture was fighting.

Ghaul, using the Light, their Light, against a Guardian.

This couldn't be happening.

"Is anyone seeing this?!" A voice shot through the comms, full of pure shock and disbelief. Clearly a lot of people were, by the wave of voices that suddenly came flooding in. Wincing at the sudden flood and volume, Vesper tapped her comms off, the angry voices in the city echoing enough for her to still know what was happening.

Forcing herself to keep moving, Vesper arrived at the rendezvous point, finding the three Commanders staring in awe at the fight ensuing.

The very fight for their survival.

She almost couldn't believe what she was seeing; At first, just little flashes of light against the Cabal Emperor, whom was shooting Light right back at the Guardian. She could hear Cayde and Ikora's comms going off.

Guardians and allies not believing what they were seeing!

Vesper couldn't help not listening anymore. All her focus was on the fight, on Rapture fighting buy herself up there. Against someone using her livelihood right back at her.

It felt wrong.

No Cabal had never harnessed the power of the Traveler before, and that shouldn't be starting now.

Not like this.

That feeling was back, that stillness she had felt when Rapture had gone to fight. A stillness that made her restless, the want to be there, helping knock Ghaul's teeth in.

A hand touched her shoulder, breaking Vesper from her internal plight, looking up at Cayde, realizing she was breathing hard, stepping closer to the edge of the broken roof. He squeezed while staring ahead, confirming her suspicion.

He wanted to be there, too.

With his new Huntress.

"C'mon Kid," he whispered, Vesper finding herself following his gaze, watching as a bright, electric arc shot into the sky. Then all went silent. There was a collective shout from everywhere in the city; A chorus of voices, angry, desperate, scared!

What was happening?

Where was Rapture?!

Where was Ghaul?

She was getting ready to head up there herself when a light shot into the sky. Something felt off about it. Then it revealed itself as a spectral Ghaul, bellowing at the Traveler.

Until she heard Ghaul's laugh echo through the city. Something deep and menacing.

Turning, rifle drawn, she swallowed hard, seeing him larger than life, made of pure Light.

Once more the comms were flooded with voices, Vesper wincing at the loudness and the intensity, her heart pounding in her ears as she stated in disbelief. Not only had the bastard taken Light from the Traveler, now he was using it to make himself akin to it?

"Traveler! Do you see me now?!" he demanded, his voice booming, making her wince, touching her ears. Shaking her head, a rogue sob escaped her. If he truly harnessed the power like this, there was nothing they could do.

Nothing could stop Ghaul now.

Closing her eyes, she turned to Cayde, a small feeling of joy as he wrapped his arm around her holding her tight. If she was to die, this is how she wanted to go. In his arms.

I see all!

Ghaul turned his back at the wrong time, continuing his monologue. The chorus of voices returning, guns being fired fruitlessly towards the specter. They were too far to even make it, but she knew they meant well.

It was then that there was an earth shattering snap, Vesper's teal eyes opening. Turning in her lover's hold, she watched the cracks appearing beneath the trap, her eyes widening slowly. She couldn't believe what was happening.

First, the Traveler broke one of the restraints, a bright, painful light coming from it's center. "By the Light, he woke it up!" Covering her eyes, she turned away as Ghaul began to yell, the intensity of the light becoming too much to withstand.

It happened all at once, there was a deafening boom, drowning out Ghaul as he faded into nothing. Smited by the very thing he tried to control. But then there was a rush of warmth, like what she felt when Orion healed her but this was… from the inside.

"My Light!"

Looking to her left, she watched Ikora's expression go from confusion to jubilation, Zavala looking perplexed, but she saw that joy in his eyes.

Closing her teal eyes, she breathed in, the feeling of being full of Light again was… something else entirely. It reminded her of when she had woken up that first time, but this time there was something different about it. Like she was coming home for the first time in a long, long time.

I am awake.

Turning her attention back up to the Traveler, Vesper glanced at those around her, wondering if they heard it, too. No one looked like they had.

Jumping as there was an explosion, the Awoken's hand shot to her gun, looking around, expecting more chaos, but there was… fireworks? Might be a bit early to celebrate, but after everything they had all been through, a celebration was definitely in order.

At some point during the celebration of taking both the City back, defeating Ghaul and the awakening of the Traveler, the days blurred together and Vesper just remembered having one drink after another in her hand.

Many jokes were shared and made; Fallen friends, foes, rivals and those still lost mourned for. Loved ones buried. But there was no shortage of celebrating their lives and everything they had done.

The only thing that had been consistent was her constant companion, who was a blue blur for most of what she can recount. At her side, holding her hand. Exo's didn't get drunk, but it wasn't like he couldn't act the part, letting free and just having some fun.

Was that how she ended up in bed beside him again, naked this time, her form resting against his, a thin blanket as a barrier between her flesh and his metal. They were somewhere in the hanger, and from what she could still faintly hear, the party was still going.

It didn't matter though, not right now. Though her skull ached and the morning air was chilly, she was content lying there beside him again. Vesper didn't recall much about the night before, other than he pulled her somewhere quiet, kissing her breathless, soft murmurings between them.

Their night together was a blurry mess, she couldn't piece it together. Vesper just knew she had enjoyed herself, finally letting go, as she embraced him. Even if it was temporary.

Faintly, she recalled wondering if he was anatomically correct. The Awoken female remembered him laughing, the jingling of his-

"Alright, 50 Glimmer for staring at me."

So he was awake. She was never sure, honestly, but this confirmed her suspicion.

"How much for a kiss?"

That got an eye to open, a smile gracing his mechanical features, his brow going up. "How much? Oooo, I don't think you can afford that." He was grinning as he moved, rolling himself over her, touching her cheek. "But maybe I can make an exception for you."

His metal mouth was cold against hers, his hand sliding up her leg, Vesper's body responding to his touch. She had dreamt of this for a long, long time. Even before she left the first time, even after she left. Sharing a bed with him, being his lover.

"Cayde," she murmured, wrapping her arm around his neck, her head falling back as he kissed down her collarbone. Grabbing his horn, she gave it a tug, grinning as he looked at her with those mechanical, hooded eyes.

"Yes?" His word fell thickly between them, the air cold against her skin, though she was burning up.

Whatever she had wanted to say died between her head and her lips, her mouth parted slightly as they stared into each other's eyes. Somewhere, in the back of her mind, she wondered, not for the first time, if in another life, would they have been together? What would their children have looked like?

Pulling him into a kiss, deep and needing, she felt him move between her legs, the blanket bunching at her hips as he cupped her breasts, a soft moan leaving her. I love you, she whispered in her mind between kisses, his fingers kneading her breasts, pinching her nipples with the delicious pain that made the ache between her legs grow.

His head dipped, kissing her jaw, then her neck, the coolness of his metal mouth surprising her. "Ah!"

He had pulled the blanket away at some point, the cold mixing with the hot ache between her legs was unpleasant, but it was also turning her on. Her hands moved to his shoulders, trying to pull him closer as he spread her legs.

Looking down, Vesper was impressed at the member he was producing between his legs. Something synthetic, obviously, but it put her thoughts to rest of him being anatomically correct to rest. He was. Biting her lip, she quivered as he ran a finger up her slit.

"You're very wet," he commented, a purr in his voice as he opened her folds, his middle finger going right in.

Biting her lip, the white haired Awoken sighed, enjoying the feeling of his finger inside of her. "For you," she murmured, tilting her head back as he started pumping it in and out of her, eyes closed. It was bliss.

Vesper whined when he suddenly stopped, pulling his finger out, her face heating up at the slick sound from between her legs. Then there was another sound, of his grunts, a familiar tapping of a hand against a pelvis. She smirked.

Opening her eyes, Vesper sat up, hunger in her eyes as she watched him pump his already erect cock. It matched his metal body in color, but it was softer in material. More malleable and flexible, if memory served.

Unable to help herself, she cupped one breast, her free hand trailing down between her legs, a soft gasp leaving her as her fingers took the place of his. That caught his attention, making the blue Exo look up, a smirk on his features. "That's hot, Ves," he murmured, stroking himself more freely.

"Yeah?" She asked, smirking as she began fingering herself with a little more vigor, squirming a little.

She watched his hand still, his member still twitching now and then. Vesper laughed breathlessly, pulling her fingers away, her eyes locking with his as she licked them clean. She watched his robotic eyes widen as they narrowed, his jaw making that locking sound as he took in a deep, unneeded breath.

Beckoning him forward, she squealed when he gripped her hips, pulling the Awoken back down. But it was her turn, this time. Hooking her leg under one of his, she put her hand on his shoulder and- "My turn, my fearless leader," Vesper said with a grin, pinning Cayde down on the bed.

The look on his face as she took control of the situation was priceless.

"Have I mentioned how hot you are?" The amusement in his voice was almost as apparent as his throbbing dick impatiently twitching against her thigh. "Because you're really, really fucking hot."

Winking, she reached down between them, gripping his shaft as she lined them up. He grunted beneath her, those cold metal hands on her hips, rubbing encouraging circles into her pale blue skin. Rocking herself against him, a low moan left her lips as she pushed his head through her folds. Shit, he was a lot bigger than her drunk memory recalled!

But damn, he felt amazing so far!

Giving her hips a little gyration, she bit her lip as she started to rock, his hips moving opposite hers as her hand went down between her legs again, brushing against her clit. Her hips bucked from the electric shock, a rogue shout escaping her Exo lover.

"E-Easy there, cow girl," he panted, his hands shaking around her as she did it again, a low, pleased groan leaving him as when her hips came back, sliding just a little more down on him. Catching his breath, he chuckled, adjusting his hold as he began to coax her to ride him. "Like this, baby."

Vesper wouldn't lie, it was nice having him guide her like this. Plus the friction had her turning into putty, and before she knew it, a yelp escaped her when she crashed against him, her whole body tensing. "Fuck yeeeeessssssss, Cayde," she hissed, wiggling on his cock.

Putting her hand on his chest, she began rolling her hips, pleased grunts and moans sounding from the Cayde-6 unit below her where encouraging as he began to thrust upward into her. "Shit!" Vesper shouted, as her head fell back, panting.

Stars danced behind her closed eyes, biting on her lip so hard between moans she was tasting blood. She didn't remember where or who she was anymore, maybe it was because she hadn't been with someone in a good, long while. Or because Cayde knew what places to touch; Her breasts, her hips, that ghost-like touch over her swollen clit. It was perfect.

"Shit, Ves," he hissed below her, the Awoken female opened one eye lazily, panting as she looked down at his mechanical face, contorted in concentration and discomfort. "I-I'm…. Nnng! I'm not… Fuck." His head fell back as he groaned when she began rolling her hips more eagerly, that flickering of his eyes indicating he was receiving pleasure that made his mind go heywire.

Laughing breathlessly, she shifted, laying herself against his cold metal body, goosebumps rising on her skin as she ground herself against him. "Too much for you?" she teased, biting her lip hard when he gave her ass a firm slap and squeeze, his chest heaving unneeded breaths against hers.

"Not," he huffed, giving her a dirty look, "even."

A small yelp left her as he rolled them over, Vesper's back arching as he began thrusting harder. His tip hitting a new place that made her scream, her voice echoing off the walls, her fingers clutching at the blankets. Slowly, he gripped under her legs, bringing them up as he continued, the bite of the metal of his body only heightening the pleasure.

Vesper was trembling, as she grabbed at what she could; Him, the pillows and blankets around them, herself, which he definitely liked. Snaking one hand down between her legs, she smirked as he grunted, slamming deep, as she played with her clit, her walls fluttering around him, constricting around his cock, her other hand kneading her breast, tweaking her nipple just so that made her squirm.

Above her, the Exo whined low in his throat, his thrusts becoming slower, but retaining that hard slap of her skin against his metal. "You know just how to drive me wild," he whispered, panting as he leaned his head, kissing her thigh, brushing her hand away from her clit, taking its place.

He started slow, little flicks and circles, but it was enough to make her clamp around his cock as tightly as she could, her legs quaking as she grabbed his wrist. "N-No, no," she breathed, swallowing hard as she pulled him above her again, wrapping her shaking legs around him. "Kiss me," she whispered, glowing teal staring back into flickering blue.

There was no hesitation as he kissed her, hard, giving one last thrust that made her whine into his mouth, her whole body spasming as she came on his cock, her hands gripping at him before finally getting a good hold; One hand on his horn, the other on his shoulder.

It took him a moment, breaking the kiss with a low, guttural groan, Vesper felt warmth within her. It was a synthetic semen, for the pleasure of release, she knew that. A bitter, traitorous part of her mind wished it was his real stuff. But neither of their bodies could produce such a thing.

Maybe in another life.

Authors Note : Not even going to lie that I haven't been nervous and excited to post this chapter. But also sad because the next one will be... sad.
Also yes, this chapter is spicy but because I had to give Vesper and Cayde a little bit of attention.
Anyway, please feel free to read and review!
