CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND ONE

Website where all photos of all outfits mentioned is on my profile. 5 reviews gets next chapter early.

An hour later I'm still just as gobsmacked as I was when I pulled into the driveway, one of the electricians apprentices has been to see me to let me know everything they've wired the house for and I'm amazed at the level of thought that has been put into it.

Every room has been set up for a house-wide entertainment unit which can be installed in any room of the house, but the main wiring has been aimed towards the living room, the most logical place. The alarm system I thought about getting installed has been put in, completed with motion sensors which have a chip system that means they'll ignore all movement that's happening with a 1 metre radius of a tag which will be attached to Doj's collar when he comes to the house.

I'm sitting on top step of the deck, looking around the yard and trying to work out why the people I abandoned for so long have gone so out of their way to help me.

I guess the depth of my thoughts must be plain on my face when Gemma comes and sits down beside me, "It's cause we all love you."

I glance over at her, "I guess I'm only just realising just how much I must have hurt everyone when I left."

Gemma raises an eyebrow, "You're only just working it out now? Baby I don't know where you've been the last few weeks but no one has been trying to hide how happy they are to have you back."

"I know that Aunt Gemma, but surely you remember even though we aren't blood related I get my stubbornness from you." I smile over at her.

"You sure as shit do there." Clay's voice startles me as he speaks from the front door. "Now that you're back the electricians have a whole list of shit they want to check with you before they move on to the kitchen on Tuesday."

I nod and pull myself to my feet, looking at the bodies in various places around my yard. The shipping container which seems to have been used as a makeshift storage for the insulation and the wall lining is currently standing open with Happy, Opie, Jax and Kip all moving the sheets of what I was informed is fire resistant drywall.

Walking through the house I can hear all sorts of conversations going round, Miles is upstairs being ordered by Piney to sweep the whole area again even though when I was up there it looked pretty tidy.

Stepping into the kitchen I can see one of the electricians standing at the uncovered window looking out into the backyard, clearing my throat as I walk towards him he turns and smiles, "You must be Sarah? I'm Gary."

I nod, wondering where he was when I looked around the house. He notices the puzzled expression on my face and chuckles, "I was the head in the ceiling."

I grin, the hole in my living room ceiling had eaten a head when I walked through before, the fact that the hole was also talking made it very easy to make a smart ass remark but I had refrained, and used most of my will power to do so.

"Uncle Clay said you needed me." I'm still not sure how these guys are connected to the Club, but reinforcing the familial relationship I have may not be a bad idea when it comes to the bill which will be arriving at the end of all of this.

I wait while a few bits of paper are shuffled before a rough layout of the kitchen area is placed on the top of the pile.

Gary clears his throat, "Right, if you could mark on this where you want the appliances that would be a great help for us when we get in here. We're aiming to have the living room done on Monday afternoon so Tuesday/Wednesday will be in here then we're done."

I take the pencil from his hand and draw some very rough squares where I want the appliances put. "What about outside?" I ask while I'm sketching where I want the oven installed, the current fridge space will be perfect given the fridge I brought won't fit in there anyway.

"We hadn't talked about outside at all with Mr Teller, or Mr Morrow."

I smile a little at the fact that it's been Jax and Clay who have organised all of this. "Okay, is it possible, and are you available, to get some wiring done for external speakers hooked into the same system as inside?"

Gary nods, "It sure is, how many are you thinking and where do you want them. If you want some in the back corners we'll have to dig up the grass to run cabling for power and sound."

I hand the paper back to him, my stick figure cooking making him shake his head and chuckle, "Shall we go have a look now? If you have time, of course."

"Sure, lead on." I open the back door and step down the concrete steps which lead to the backyard.

30 minutes later we've done a drawing of the backyard with where I'd like speakers installed and the types I want put in being picked from the catalogue kept in the cab of Gary's van. While we're standing in the peace of the front yard I have a sudden thought.

"Who's details have you got for the accounts on all of this?" I ask, suddenly wondering where the money has come from for a whole team of electricians to be working every day, not to mention the insulation, the drywall, the second skip and goodness knows what else.

Gary flicks through the pages on the clipboard he's still holding, "Umm, says here all invoices to be sent to Jackson Teller."

I shake my head, "Can you e-mail them to me. It's my house and I know Jax is trying to help but I'd really like to pay for all this myself. Unless you happen to have an idea of current costs."

"I can e-mail it to you, not a problem. But I can also tell you what the account is up to at the moment; Mr Teller has been getting daily updates."

I giggle again at Jax being called 'Mr Teller' he'd hate it. Gary writes a few things down on a sheet of paper and pulls out an ancient calculator before jotting more numbers down and finally turning the sheet to me.

"That number is the total at the moment." He says, pointing to the top line. "That one is the estimated total for the job, it's almost exactly right at the moment, maybe a couple of hundred either way." Moving his finger to the third line, "That's the total with the backyard very rough estimate included. And that line," he points to the final line on the page, "is what I expect the total to be by the time the back is done. That also includes a 5% buffer."

I nod, "If I give you a check to cover it all is that okay?"

Gary looks a little stunned, "You can. Normally we'd wait till the end of the job to get the whole invoice done accurately."

Stepping around his van I go to my truck and pull the small black leather enclose that holds my rarely used check book and the emergency credit card I've always had.

3 minutes later I had the check over and lean against the side of the van, "Keep giving Jax the running totals. But if anything comes up that makes this job go over the amount on there please let me know straight away."

Gary looks down and then back at me, "This is too much."

I grin, "You forgot to include the gate wiring and the hire of the digger which we were just talking about."

He shakes his head, "That's why we put the buffer in, cause I always forget something. It's still going to be too much though I'm sure."

"Well, then consider it a down payment on the work I'm bound to be hiring you for next month." I tell him, thinking of the work that will have to go into the Winston's house to get it liveable again, but with Craig gone I can move back there and start on it at night.

I take a glance at my watch and then up and Gary, "Its two o'clock on a Friday, call it a weekend early. Use some of the 'extra' to take your team out for a beer on me."

Gary grins and heads towards the stairs "Sounds like a plan to me, puts me in good as the boss, and you in good as the bosses shot caller."

I shake my head quietly muttering "That was the plan." Turning around I start walking slowly towards the door, my head swimming with the amount of work that's been done in such a short time.
