He watched her drag her straighteners through her hair, she smiled at him through the mirror before smiling even wider at Eloise peering around Fletch's legs, she looked at him and smiled, he nodded at her before picking his daughter up and holding her on his hip. Things had been emotionally charged recently, the way they were getting closer than they ever had been before. It started with Jac opening up about her childhood and he opened up about his and somehow they managed to find some common ground over their childhood's not being all rosy and pink like other people's. It was the movie nights, the continuous pain her daughter was in and her blood transfusion didnt seem to be working as effectively as it did before so Jac was worrying, he was too but he tried not to show it in front of her. They were heading to the clinic again today, everything should be ready and they were given a little more time for things to be as perfect as they could be, to make sure the conditions were right.

"Are you going to be ok with Frieda?" Jac whispers as Eloise stands in front of her, she nods with a small smile "Good girl, she's looking forward to seeing you again"

"I like Frieda, she's cool"

"Cooler than mummy?" Fletch grins, Jac rolls her eyes and then glares at him, Eloise nods enthusiastically "Am I cooler than mummy?"

"No" Eloise shakes her head causing Jac to high-five her daughter "Mummy's cooler than daddy"

"Worth a try" Jac smirks and walks out of the room, Fletch groans as Eloise follows her "Right I'm going to get your bag ready, can you ask daddy to help you with your shoes?"

"Of course" Eloise nods and walks out of her bedroom, Jac sighs and picks up Eloise's bag, she makes sure she has all of her medication and toys to play with, Fletch appears behind her and places his hands on her hips causing her to lean back into his body

"Hi" she whispers and he smiles into the back of her head, he kisses her on the head before she turns around and passes the bag to him "Have you dont her shoelaces up properly?"

"Yeah double knotted them, I can triple know them if you want-"

"No, no, I'm just being paranoid" Jac laughs slightly, he kisses her on the head and he hugs her "Hm...I feel safe here"

"No one's here, no one's judging...no one cares" he whispers "You lean on me as much as you need, if that means literally then so be it"

"Thank you"

"You know I'll always have your back. Now go and get your shoes on, we have an appointment to attend"

They headed to the clinic after dropping Eloise off at Frieda's, she was excited to be going out with her today, they usually did a bunch of cool things together and that left Jac to tell Fletch about the time Frieda took Eloise on this ghost train at some funfair. After Jac reminisced she was nervous, Fletch tried to bring up random conversation topics to keep her distracted so she didnt have to think of the worse. Soon enough she went through the procedure to have her eggs, if there were any, collected. Throughout the procedure Fletch had his fingers crossed, she had hers crossed as well just hoping for something positive out of this. Jac smirked at him knowing he would soon have to do his bit, he rolled his eyes at her filthy brainwaves. They headed home to wait for that all-important phone call, he breathed out as they got in and sat her on the sofa with a hot water bottle as she had some light cramping.

"Do you want anything for lunch?"

"Um yeah ok, maybe a bacon sandwich if we have any bacon?" she asks, he nods and pulls out a frying pan, he notices her reach for the remote "Do you think there will be any?"

"I hope so" he looks at her, she nods with a small smile "And if there's not...what do you want to do?"

"Not sure" she shrugs, she hadn't really thought about it "I just hope there are some and then we can go from there..."

"You know it's entirely up to you if you want to continue or not," he says quietly as he fries the bacon, she nods "No pressure on my behalf"

"Thank you" she confirms, he smiles at her before yawning "I'm sorry as well for kicking you out of my bed every morning"

"It's fine" he whispers "I understand...it's not like we're in a relationship is it?"

"No, it's not" she swallows at his words, he turns his gaze back to the frying pan "I wonder how Eloise is getting on"

"She'll be fine, she loves Frieda" Fletch smiles, she nods slowly as he grabs the butter from the fridge "Do you need anything from town later?"

"I dont think so, she needs some more shampoo so you can get her that" Jac shrugs, he nods slowly and brings over two plates "Thanks"

"No problem" he smiles at her, she eats her sandwich before sighing "I know I say it over and over again but you're just...the bravest person I know"

"You know thats all for show" she whispers, he smiles and places his hand on her leg "I just hope that there will be something positive on the horizon instead of all this crap we have to deal with"

"I'm sure there will be" he whispers before raising his hand and crossing his fingers "Fingers crossed?"

"Hm, yeah...fingers crossed" she does the same with a small smile

The all-important phone call came through, it was better news than what Jac and Fletch were expecting, it wasnt the best but it wasnt the worst but they had something to work with. Fletch headed off to the clinic to do his part as Jac told him to so they could get things in motion, he could also pick up her prescription when he was there as well. A while later he came back, Eloise had already been dropped off by Frieda so she was exhausted and sleeping against Jac's body. He smiled at them both and Jac asked him how it went so he said it went ok leaving her to breathe out and nod before she cracked some joke what he went through causing him to glare and then start on dinner. Eloise woke up feeling unwell so Jac gave her some medication and watched her curl up in the corner of the sofa.

"Here" Fletch whispers passing her the hot water bottle, she smiles and passes it to Eloise who holds it against her tummy "Oh sweetheart you look unwell"

"Dont feel well mummy" Eloise whispers, Jac presses her hand against her daughter's head "Sorry"

"Hey you have nothing to be sorry for" Jac shakes her head at her daughter's words, they broke her more than she thought they would "You can't help it if you're sick"

"Just want to be normal"

"I know you do, I know you do sweetheart and I hope one day you can be" Jac whispers brushing her daughter's hair out of the way of her face

"How about a nice warm drink?" Fletch suggests and Jac nods watching him put some milk in the microwave "It might make you feel a bit better"

"Hug" Eloise demands so Jac lies on the sofa with her, she runs her fingers through her daughter's hair "Thank you"

"That's ok" Jac whispers and continues to hold her so Fletch stops cooking dinner so that he could spend some time with them both knowing they needed him "Daddy's here as well"

"Scared"

"Why are you scared sweetheart?" Jac whispers but Eloise presses her face into her mother's chest

"Dont want to die"

"You're not going to die, not if I can help it," Jac says against her daughter's hair "Me and daddy are going to do everything we can to make sure that doesnt happen, thats a promise"

Jac moved Eloise to her bed, she was shattered. They spent time, all three of them, cuddling on the sofa as it was what her daughter wanted so when she fell asleep Jac put her to bed and made sure she was ok and had a sick bowl if she felt like she wanted to be sick. After she had done that she went downstairs and frowned at a pizza Fletch had ordered causing her to smile slightly and sits down beside him to have some food as she was starving. They watched some movie after they had finished and Jac curled up next to Fletch who was running his fingers through her hair. He shuffled onto his back and she wedged herself between him and the back of the sofa, her head on his chest as they continued to watch the screen. Jac looked up at him and he looked down at her before biting his lip and turning away causing her to frown.

"Kiss me," she tells him, he frowns at her "Just do it"

"No"

"Why?" she looks at him, she knew he wanted to, she knew what he really did want "Why not?"

"Eloise, you said it yourself, no one could find out about this" he whispers, her eyes close and she frowns "No one can find out we cuddle in bed, on the sofa..."

"Are you embarrassed by me?"

"No not at all" he assures her, she didnt know where that question came from "I just think we shouldn't dive into things whilst things are so up in the air with the IVF and Eloise I just dont think its for the best right now"

"Fair points," she says quietly and closes her eyes "If it wasnt for all of that would you consider it?"

"I think, personally if the circumstances were right, it would be one of the best decisions I could ever make," he says quietly into her head, a smile appears on her face "But right now... it's not"

"I understand, I do" she whispers taking his hand and holding it, their fingers link "But thank you, for being there with me today and for Eloise, you were great"

"I try my best"

"I try mine as well...I think thats all we can do in this situation really isnt it?"

"Yeah, you're probably right" he chuckles and closes his eyes, she hums and closes her eyes "As long as we try...as long as we have each other we'll be fine..."

"Yeah, yeah we will"
