Chapter 10 – The triple
POV Legoshi
"Look that´s us" Juno giggled lowly, giving me a little nudge with her elbow, "Just about 17 years ago."
I nodded with a smile, still soaking in the experience and the nostalgia of being in this room again.
All the seat-rows were full, the performance was almost at its end and the audience still really enjoyed the performance this year´s drama-club ensemble presented them.
They were all living up to their roles, the audience liked it, and I had not the slightest doubt that Sanu had directed them. It just felt right, it just felt familiar.
I could tell Leon and Lucy had fun on stage too, their practice had paid off and the viewers believed them when they displayed their love for each other. My boy had gotten out of his shell and displayed all the confidence he had been missing so far.
We laughed loudly during the poisoning scene at the end, the moment when Leon bit into the fake chocolate and looked at it in over-acted excitement as if it was the tastiest thing he´s ever eaten in his life, even though real chocolate would kill him as a canine, and we also enjoyed all the other little jokes they had built into it.
They delivered a good show. So good in fact, most people seemed to have forgotten about me being here for a moment even. There was nothing more I could ever have wanted.
People recognized me and Juno the moment we set foot on the school´s premises of course, they were asking for autographs or selfies or both of those things, but once we had made it to our seats, the performance was the most important thing again. And I really wished it would remain like that, today should be all about the drama club being the stars, just like back in the day.
I was sure that I was clapping the loudest when the curtain call started, I was the proudest dad in all of Japan I was pretty sure. Leon looked relieved and happy while he and his teammates were doing little bows left and right, the premiere was a success and the audience genuinely accepted them as actors.
Lucy seemed quite excited too, she had delivered a really solid performance as well, but I could tell there was something much bigger going on inside her head once they were done with the show. Today could be the big day she found her dad after all.
When the curtain call was over and people started leaving the audience room, I quickly took Haru and Juno with me as I still remembered the way towards the backstage area. I wanted to congratulate them before they would get overrun by the school newspaper reporters and fans who wanted their autographs, and I also wanted to see Sanu again.
Luckily, most students and parents were still excited about the show, barely anybody noticed that we were still here. But just a few steps from the door we were heading to, somebody suddenly placed a hand on my shoulder from behind.
I took a look and saw a familiar bald eagle. I hadn't even noticed him being here earlier, but I thought it was quite a pleasant surprise nevertheless.
"Aoba" I greeted him, "You´re here too?"
"Yeah" he chuckled, "I was free, the weather was nice, I thought I come to see Leon´s first performance. And the old pelican…" he added with a smirk.
"It´s really his style, isn't it?" Juno asked with a chuckle, "I was immediately thrown back into those good old days. He still hasn't lost it after all these years."
"Undoubtedly" he affirmed with a smirk, "But I´m really glad about it. What a treat to witness this once again!"
POV Sanu
It almost felt like those old days of glory right now. I wasn´t sure if it was quite as good as back then, but it was a lot better than what we did in the last few years for sure.
I immediately got struck by that nostalgic feeling when the principal joined us after the performance and congratulated us on our great success of the premiere.
We´ve all been quite nervous before the show of course, but they all played just like we rehearsed it countless times, they timed all the critical scenes just right and it felt like an almost professional theatre performance in the end. I was very proud of them and we had a reason to celebrate.
"Damn, that applause was so cool!" Haruto said excitedly, "And Kibi your dying scene was awesome!"
"Haha thanks" he chuckled. The black panther still had the fake blood all over his fur and costume, but he wasn´t too bothered about that right now.
"It´s been a while since I´ve seen a performance this entertaining on our stage" Gon the principal told them with an amused chuckle, "It was quite refreshing!"
"I´m glad you enjoyed it" Lucy told him with a humble smirk. Leon just nodded in agreement, it seemed like he still hadn't quite caught his breath after the curtain call.
Gon seemed very content about his decision to give Legoshi´s son a chance in the drama club as well, I think Leon noticed that as well just in that moment.
"Tell me…" somebody just asked from the outside, gaining all our attention quickly, "Is it even allowed to fly in the audience room?"
We all turned our heads towards the voice, it was a bald eagle who I immediately recognized from somewhere.
"A-Aoba!" Haruto said in great shock of meeting his biggest hero. The other avian winked him with a little smirk as he just folded his hands before his mouth.
"Haha you came" Leon greeted the bald eagle with a chummy smirk, coming towards him casually.
"Great show superstar" he greeted him, "All of you, that was fantastic!"
Leon gave him a little fist bump and then hugged his mom and his dad, who I just noticed came to visit us as well.
We all just watched in great excitement about their presence, even the principal seemed totally flashed.
"What a day" Gon greeted them in slight disbelief they were actually here, "What an honor that I´m allowed to see this reunion in my last year as a principal!"
Legoshi came towards us with a proud smile, giving a high five to everybody on his way. He was still so sweet and humble, just like I remembered him. I was excited to see him again after all these years, and I was honored that Juno and even Aoba came to see our premiere.
"No doubt you´ve written that script" Legoshi told me with a chummy smirk, "I´m glad you never changed!"
"I´m glad you never changed!" I told him back, "So nice to see you!"
He gave me a little hug and so did Juno and Aoba.
"Lucy you did great on stage too" Juno told her with a motherly smile, "I was thrown back in time to when I was playing Juliet myself back then!"
"Haha thank you" she said with a joyful giggle, "I hope I could do it justice!"
"Oh no doubt you did all of us justice" Aoba said with a genuine smirle, "I think that applause said it all!"
"W-which role did you play back then?" Haruto asked him with great interest, apparently having found his voice again now, "…i-if I´m allowed to ask."
"Why would you not be allowed to ask?" he asked with a humble smile towards him, then he turned towards Legoshi and Juno for a moment. They both remembered it very well too, obviously.
Then he went towards Kibi the black panther and touched one of the stains from the fake blood on the costume he still wore.
"I remember I had to shower three times or more to get that stuff all out of my feathers" he explained with a chuckle.
"You played Mercutio?" Kibi asked him with great excitement.
He nodded with a humble smile. "I had just as much fun on stage back then as I had watching you guys today."
"Yeah, me too!" Juno agreed, "Thanks for all your effort!"
The time was just flying past with all of them around us. I´ve rarely had days that brought me so much joy as this one ever since, but it was worth all the effort we went through.
I was pretty sure the reporters of the school wave newspaper were waiting for our actors at the entrance already, and as much as I hated to interrupt all the friendly and excited conversations, I had to split up this meeting at some point.
"What do you say we all meet up in the cafeteria later?" I asked into the round, "I´ll make sure there is a spot at the table for everyone. You gotta get out there and meet your fans!"
"Yeah!" Juno agreed with a chuckle, "I hope you all have your pens and your best smiles ready!"
The bulk slowly began moving outside, pretty soon we left the building we were surrounded by dozens of excited students.
It was just like in those old days, and like the principal said it already, I truly felt blessed I was allowed to see all this one last time.
POV Lucy
They weren't lying when they told us about the autographs and the interviews with the school newspaper. There was quite a crowd of students waiting for us outside, yelling at us from every angle in great excitement.
It was kinda fun getting worshipped like that, but it also was kinda exhausting, especially with everything else that was going on in my head. I now just fully realized what my new status at the school was and would be from now on, I would be quite popular from now on and a lot of students knew who I was now. I wasn´t quite decided yet if that was a good or a bad thing, but also it wasn't really all that important to me right now anyway. There was a much bigger thing on my mind.
Ookami had told me that the results of the DNA test might be in today, and he had promised to show up as soon as he knew something. He also said he would try and get tickets for the premiere of our show today, but I hadn´t spotted him in the crowd so far. Not that I saw a whole lot of the audience anyway, there were other things to focus on during our performance.
When the rush on us finally seemed to calm down a little bit and the reporters where happy with what they got for their newspaper, I finally got a minute to breathe.
The guys from the school wave, and also quite a lot of other students, had spotted Legoshi, Aoba and Juno outside of the drama club building in the meanwhile, and now they were surrounding them with great excitement of course. It was kinda convenient that they were taking all the attention off of us right now. Now I knew what Legoshi must be dealing with constantly, and I could very well understand how that could get a little exhausting after a while.
I quickly scanned my surroundings after taking a bit of distance from the crowd, and I quickly found just what I had been looking out for. I spottet a canine couple with orange and sand colored fur sitting and waiting on one of the park benches. They really did come here, and it looked like they´ve seen the show as well. They looked quite stylish in their wardrobe, maybe even a bit too stylish for a highschool drama club performance. But I was really glad they were here, I couldn´t really take the pressure much longer.
"I´ve found them" I told Leon lowly, pointing my head towards them. He nodded understandingly.
He was quite interested in that topic as well of course, he had been helping me out quite well staying calm and somewhat keeping my nerves intact these last few days.
Now that the pressure of our premiere performance was finally gone, that pressure of getting to know if he really was my dad quickly took over again.
I just noticed that Haru quietly had joined us in the meanwhile, she looked like she had been a little lost amongst all these people.
"Are you gonna talk to him?" Leon asked back lowly, knowing full well how badly I wanted to get this over with in the meanwhile.
"Yeah…" I said, "I think I can´t wait any longer."
"He does look a lot like you" Haru commented lowly. I was kinda glad she knew about all this as well, it was the right decision to talk to her and Leon´s parents about this beforehand.
"I really hope it´s true" I said lowly, "He´s so kind and nice, it would be so cool to have at least one parent."
"You know you can bring them to our house if you need privacy, right?" Leon asked me again, "Did my mom give you the key already?"
I nodded slowly. I was glad they all were so helpful, but I really wanted to get this thing going in the meanwhile.
"Can you excuse me from the table in the cafeteria please?" I quickly asked before I left, "I know this means a lot to Sanu and the guys, but…"
He just nodded understandingly. "I´ll tell them it was urgent, they´ll understand!"
"Come on, Romeo" Haru told him in a well-spirited manner, "You promised to show me the garden…"
Leon smiled and nodded in agreement. He gave me one more quick kiss on the cheek, then he followed her and I went on my way towards the bench.
"Hi" I greeted them with a nervous little smile.
"Hey Lucy" Fenneko smiled back at me, getting off of the bench when I arrived, "Great show!"
"Haha thank you!" I chuckled, waving it off, "You came and watched it?"
Ookami nodded with a calm but comforting smile, getting off from the bench as well now.
I felt kinda honoured that they came to my drama club performance, but there was a by far more important topic between us right now.
"Did…did you get it?" I asked, hoping not to sound too impatient for some weird reason. There was no need to act cool about this really, the three of us knew how important this was and how badly we all wanted to know at this point.
"Yeah…the pharmacy called us this morning and we picked up the letter."
Fenneko already searched for it in her purse, then she found it and handed it over to me. It turned out they hadn't even opened it yet.
"Y-you haven't checked it out?" I asked in slight disbelief.
They both just shook their heads silently. "We wanted to wait for you."
I just nodded understandingly. For some reason I kinda had wished that they would just tell me right now, somewhat prepare me for the answer to the all-important yes or no -question, but I could also understand that they wanted me to be the first one to know.
Fenneko handed me the letter, I just took it into my hands for now. It had the logo of the DNA test facility on the front and a very official and secure looking seal on the back.
"Hey Lucy!" someone suddenly greeted me from behind, giving me a little bit of a scare since I was so tense, "There you are! Great show today, I really enjoyed it!"
I turned around swiftly, trying to act over the little shock that gave me. It was my dormmate Kana the red husky, she had spotted me out here in the park just by chance as it looked like.
"Oh…hey, thanks!" I told her with a faked little smile. "So nice of you to say that!"
"You two looked so cute together!" she giggled.
I smiled a little more, hoping that would be enough for now and she would get on her way again. It was just now that she noticed I wasn't alone here, and when she noticed another maned wolf standing next to me, she looked kinda surpised all over sudden.
Of course, she looked surprised, she knew about my familiar situation. I already knew I would have to answer a lot of questions about that later, but for now it seemed she had the decency to not say anything that could potentially cause an awkward situation.
"Anyway" she said, "I need to go, have a nice evening Juliet!"
"Haha, thanks" I told her, waving her a little to not look suspicious, "You too."
The moment she was out of sight I brought my attention back to Fenneko, Ookami and the letter they brought.
"What a day to receive a letter like that, right?" Fenneko asked with a little chuckle, trying to ease up the situation a little bit.
"Y-yeah…" I said lowly, "I was nervous before the show…but that was nothing compared to this."
"I haven't eaten anything the whole day" Ookami told me with a nervous smile, "I don't want to cause another scene like that."
I gave him a little smile for that comment, I think I would have found that really funny if the situation wasn´t so nerve wrecking right now.
I took another quick look around the park, it was pretty busy and I recognized a lot of students. I guessed most of the people here have seen the premiere today, the weather was nice and the pretty green meadows were a quite comfortable spot to be at this late afternoon.
"Should we really open it here?" I asked them slowly, not feeling entirely sure about that.
"We´ve waited all week for this" Fenneko said with an encouraging little chuckle, "I think it´s time."
I now slowly began to open the letter with one of my fingers carefully, my nervousness was increasing more and more. I was just about to find out if I really met my biological father or not, and it could be quite a live-changing news indeed.
I got the envelope opened up in the meanwhile and was just about to pull the papers out of it, when Ookami suddenly stopped me softly.
"Wait…" he said, "…before you read… …what do you hope it´s gonna be? I just want to know in case it´s not what you wished for."
"I…" I stuttered, "I hope it´s gonna be true!"
He now smiled with an understanding nod, I couldn't quite tell if he was concerned or contented about my stand.
"W-what do you want?" I asked back unsurely, "Do you not want it to be true?"
"No, I do!" he said without any hesitation, "Of course I want it to be true! I just want you to be aware that this would change both our lives quite drastically."
"I´m aware" I told him with a little chuckle, "I´ve been thinking about this too you know? Ever since you told me about it on Sunday evening."
He nodded again, now it looked like he was as contented as one could get in his situation. There were no more stops at this point.
I took another short look at him, then back at the envelope and then to Fenneko, who was holding her phone in her hands for some reason.
"Go on darling" she encouraged me, "Nothing more to wait for."
"Okay" I sighed nervously, pulling the paper from the envelope slowly and opening it up, "Here we go."
The first page was just a wall of text about regulations and guidelines or something like that, I quickly deducted that it didn´t contain the information we wanted. I took a look at the second page, and this looked more interesting already. There were a couple of charts and tables for both mine and his DNA samples, the numbers displayed seemed rather scientific and rather meaningless for the untrained eye though. But below that were two bold lines of text that basically made the rest of the paper completely obsolete to me:

Fatherhood biologically proven
My heart did a little jump when I read it, a tear of joy was forming in my eyes already. The entire world felt so light and easy all over sudden, everything else around me was just a blur in the background, one of my biggest wishes finally had turned into reality.
"What´s it say?" he asked impatiently, apparently not able to tell from my happy sobbing.
"It says you´re my dad!" I told him with a joyful chuckle.
I showed him the piece of paper and the two interesting lines, he showed me a big happy smile in return. He looked even more handsome and dad-like all over sudden, I just couldn't get over it that it was actually true.
"Yes!" I yelled in pure ecstasy, throwing my arms around him and hugging him tightly, "You´re my dad!"
He hugged me back and lifted me up into the air a little bit, it felt even nicer than I had anticipated it too. He felt gentle but strong, tall and protecting, I liked to think it felt just like hugging a dad should feel like.
I was so happy right now, I didn´t want to let go of him anymore, I didn´t care about anyone staring who might saw us. I fully embraced this moment, nobody in the world could stop or judge me from doing so.
We hugged each other for quite a while until we slowly separated from each other again, I still couldn´t stop smiling like a little kid. He still smiled as well, I thought it made him look even more dad-like and adorable.
"Should we…" he asked lowly, taking a short look around "Should we go somewhere quieter, maybe? I-I mean, this is a lot to take in…"
I nodded understandingly, I knew what he meant and I couldn't agree more.
"There is a lot to work out, isn´t there?" I asked with a chuckle, feeling a little flustered still.
"Yeah" he affirmed, "Those are some big news."
"Guys, follow me!" I told them, immediately taking the lead towards the street where the train-station was, "I know a good place!"
POV Julian
"Who could that be?" she asked, being a little shocked as well. I turned towards the shed´s door, the white curtain still blocked the view into the garden.
We just heard it very distantly, but somebody clearly knocked against the heavy steel door to the hallway.
"Don't know" I sighed, "But it might be the principal, so we should probably get dressed."
"But the principal has a key as well, doesn´t he?" she asked in slight fear.
"Yeah, probably…"
I quickly got off the bed and put back on my boxers, my short pants and the nice white shirt I had worn for the drama club performance she wanted to watch with me.
Even if this was a little bit of an inconvenient situation with the unexpected visitors now, I took another quick moment to look at the chocolate brown Labrador girl who helped me stay sane just so well with everything she did. She was still fiddling around with her bra, it looked like she probably needed another minute to get ready.
"I´m gonna check it out" I told her with a smile.
She nodded understandingly, I quickly left the shed and closed the glass door behind me again.
Taking care of this place was supposed to be a punishment the principal had given us, he thought it was quite fitting since he caught us partying and having a fist fight up here, but for Bailey and I it turned out to be really convenient indeed. It´s been four days since we´ve gotten the key now, and we´ve been up here every afternoon since. The shed in the garden had a bed in it, it had a sliding door that was lockable from the inside and a curtain to block the view from prying eyes. This really was all we ever needed.
I heard them knocking again while I was on my way towards the door, I yelled they should give me a second.
I opened the door and was greeted by a small bunny lady and a tall wolf I really hadn´t expected to show up here today.
"Oh…" he greeted me, having one hand behind his back with a slightly uncomfortable smile, "…uh…hi Julian."
I just looked at him with a little nod and then at the white dwarf rabbit that was with him. She looked very interested in this place for some reason, even though she must clearly be a little older than a highschool student.
"Can I help you?"
"Yes darling" the bunny lady chuckled with a confident smile, "I´m curious to see what happened to my garden in the last sixteen years!"
"Heh…" I chuckled, "…we basically just began working here three days ago, nobody really took care of it before that I guess. Who are you I might ask?"
"My name is Haru" she told me with a friendly smile, "I took care of the garden back when I was at this highschool. What´s your name hotshot?"
I saw Leon rolling his eyes a little bit about that comment from her, she seemed quite used to it though. She clearly wasn't interested in me like that, she was way too old for me anyway, but I found her quite funny and sympathetic nevertheless.
"My name is Julian" I told her with a smile, just as Bailey arrived at the door as well.
"Well Julian" the bunny said, taking a look around with a somewhat critical expression, "I guess nobody told you how much work a well-maintained garden really is, did they?"
"I uh…" I said while she just grinned sheepishly, "Not really…"
"Oh, hi Leon" Bailey greeted him excitedly, "We watched the premiere, I think you guys did really good!"
"Haha thanks" the wolf told her in a humble way, "I´m glad you enjoyed it. We put a lot of work into it."
"Where is Lucy?" she wanted to know.
"Oh she has some private thing to deal with" he waved it off, "Maybe she´ll join us later."
I thought it was kinda odd to see Leon without his costume right now, he just wore some casual pants and a dark blue t-shirt right now. It almost made me feel a little bit silly in my nice white shirt, especially since today he and the drama club were the big deal of the school, but he didn´t seem too bothered about this as it seemed like.
Haru walked deeper into the garden now, apparently inspecting all the beets with trained eyes. We hadn´t even touched a single one of those yet, not even knowing how to begin with all the weeds growing out of it.
"You really have a lot of work ahead of you" she explained, "You need to pluck all those out, you need to turn over the soil and loosen it up before you can plant anything new."
"Yeah, I thought so too" Bailey chuckled, "We started out with some of those flower pots over there."
She pointed at the stack of pots we had already started carrying outside from the shelves in the glass-house, emptied and cleaned out with water in the last few days.
"Do you know what you want to plant already?" Haru asked.
"N-not really" Bailey said with an unsure smile, "There is nothing here we could plant."
"Back in my day I just asked the principal for a budget to buy a couple of seedlings" she told us some actually quite helpful information, "I could hook you up with quite a selection from my store actually."
"What you have your own store?" Bailey asked with great interest, "Wait, do you own that cute little flower shop down the street?"
"That´s the one" she chuckled, "I started out right here in this garden and then I decided to do this professionally."
"Oh that´s so cool!" giggled excitedly, "And it´s so cool you visited this place again!"
"Well, I was here for the show anyway, so I decided to take a quick look."
Bailey nodded with understandingly, then she pointed at one of the beets, "Do you think this soil is good for planting vegetables as well? My mom is planting quite a lot of stuff in our garden, I thought I could do that here too…"
"Oh yeah, for sure…you just need to…"
I stopped in my walk as the girls now suddenly sunk deeply into a conversation about plants and stuff, unfortunately that left me pretty much alone with my dorm-mate who still seemed to be quite high-flying from his successful drama-club performance.
But I couldn't even be mad at him right now, he really surprised me a little with what he delivered on stage today. As much as I didn´t like to admit it, he definitely had inherited some of his dad´s talent when it came to acting, he pretty much owned the stage with his appearance, confidence and charisma.
"Are you doing this here voluntarily?" he asked me with great interest, apparently trying to kick-start a conversation for some reason, "Taking care of the garden I mean."
I took a short look to my left and right, then I shook my head with a little sigh. "The principal gave me this as a punishment for starting the fight. Bailey just helps out because she likes gardening."
"You do not look too displeased about it" he grinned with a chummy smirk.
"W-what do you mean?"
"Come on" he told me with a nudge, "You´re totally fucking in that shed over there, aren't you?"
"What?" I asked in slight disbelief.
He just grinned a little more and shrugged his shoulders. "Looks convenient to be honest."
"Yeah, so…what if we are?"
"Nothing" he said defensively, "Good for you is what I mean. It´s hard to find any privacy here at school."
I still wasn´t quite sure why he wanted to talk about that topic with me in the first place, but as it really didn´t seem malicious in any way, I wasn´t even too mad about it.
"Don't get any funny ideas" I told him in an ironic fashion, "We found this place first."
That just left him grinning a little bit.
"By the way…" he asked, "Did those other guys get some sort of punishment as well?"
Bailey and that bunny lady were walking over towards the glass-house now, it seemed like I was stuck with him a little longer.
"I don't know" I sighed, "But I´m glad they´re not here in the garden as well to be honest."
"I´ve heard people talking that they got suspended for a while…" Leon told me with a shrug of his shoulders.
"What do you have to do?" I asked him, actually being interested in that for some reason.
"I had to carry your ass all the way into the infirmary" he told me with a chuckle, "I think that was punishment enough."
I was just left sighing once again. I shouldn't have brought that up in the first place, this could only backfire after all.
"Yeah, yeah…"
He just smiled in slight amusement, it seemed he wasn´t even gonna be that much of a dick about it.
"…and I guess since I didn´t start the fight in the first place" he added, "I just stopped it."
I just nodded understandingly, there was nothing more to say about that topic really.
"You did kinda good on stage today" I told him instead, trying to sound as dry as possible though, "Gotta give you that."
"Thanks."
Now it was my turn to gloat a little bit.
"Guess you found your balls after all that night of the fight, didn't you? Juliet did not look too disappointed."
Leon wasn't even mad about that comment, even though he definitely knew what I meant.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" he asked back with an ironic smirk.
It was kinda fun to talk to him like that right now, I actually might even enjoyed it a little bit. Didn´t think I would ever think anything like that about him.
"You can spare me the details" I chuckled, "But I´m glad there is more to you than just daddy´s money."
POV Legoshi
It´s been easily an hour since we left the theatre in the meanwhile, and we still didn´t get anywhere. First, we gave autographs to the students who recognized us, then we met Sanu and the principal again, who seemed to have waited patiently to have another little conversation with us.
We reminisced about the good old days back when we were in highschool, they told us how excited they were to witness this in their last year before retirement, and we had a genuinely good time here, even though it was getting a little exhausting after a while.
After saying goodbye, Aoba waved us once more, spread his wings and set off homewards, Juno and I took a short look around the park first of all.
Lucy was nowhere to be seen anymore, neither were that other maned wolf and his girlfriend.
"So Lucy is with her dad" Juno said with a chuckle, "Where did Leon and Haru go again?"
"I thought they wanted to visit the garden" I said with a shrug of my shoulders, "Don't know what´s taking them so long."
"Oh, Haru can talk about flowers all day long if nobody stops her" Juno giggled, "Come on, let´s see if they´re still there, I´m kinda curious too."
We went on our way, surprisingly still knowing the way all by heart, walking past a few other still familiar places in the process. More students noticed us walking though the campus of course, but we got where we headed rather quickly nevertheless.
"So you think he´s really her dad?" I asked her on our way up the stairs.
"I saw that she opened a letter he brought earlier" she explained, "And then she hugged him quite stormily. I´m pretty sure they were the test results."
I nodded understandingly, feeling very contented that it was actually true. I was excited about this ever since Leon told us, I couldn´t even Imagine how important that must be for Lucy.
"You told her they can come to our house anytime they like, right?" I asked her. "In case they want a private place to talk or anything."
She nodded affirmingly.
"Did you also tell her to offer them a guest room?"
"I think it´ll all work out" Juno said with a chuckle, "We´ll get to hear from her again sooner or later. My guess is sooner. Don't worry, she´s a big girl after all."
We had reached the door to the garden in the meanwhile. Juno tried to open it, but it was locked from the inside.
She knocked against it a few times, eventually we heard steps coming closer towards us. The door got opened from the inside and we were greeted by a rather sporty looking red fox in slick blue pants and a nice white shirt. He didn´t exactly look like he had been doing any gardening work, but I guessed he came here after seeing the drama-club performance and then got distracted by Haru and Leon, whom we both immediately spotted behind him in the garden as well.
"H-hey" he greeted us shyly as he noticed who we were.
"Hi" I greeted him with a friendly smile, "We´re just here to check out what happened to the garden in the last 16 years."
"Oh and because we lost our favorite bunny gardening girl" Juno added with a chuckle.
"Y-yeah, come in!" he told us.
We followed him, Leon and Haru had noticed us as well in the meanwhile.
"Oh wow" Juno commented, "I guess nobody gave this place any love since you´ve left."
"I´m so glad she´s here today though" a cute brown Labrador girl Leon´s age told us with a giggle, "She´s given me a lot of helpful advice already!"
"She´s a real sweetheart, isn't she?" Juno asked with a chuckle towards the bunny.
I now noticed how the red fox was nudging the Labrador girl with one of his elbows gently, pointing towards Juno and I with his head.
"Oh…oh my god!" she then giggled in excitement, "John Wick is in our garden!"
"More like Romeo and Juliet 17 years ago" Leon commented with a chuckle.
We both couldn't hide a little smirk about that, those two kids still just stared at us in great disbelief.
"Leon, who are you friends?" Juno asked him with a friendly smile towards them.
He couldn't even open his mouth before the Labrador introduced herself to us in great excitement.
"I´m Bailey!" she said, "I´m in the same dorm as Lucy! She´s told me so many nice things about you already! It´s such an honor to meet you!"
"The pleasure is all ours" I told her with a little wink and a friendly smile, "Nice to meet you, Bailey."
"I-I´m Julian" the red fox introduced himself, "…and...uh, …I´m not from Lucy´s dorm."
POV Ookami
This day was just getting more unreal by the minute. Everything felt so strangely derailed ever since we had the confirmation. I hadn´t even fully realized yet what that really meant that I was her actually birth-father. There were so many important things to talk about, and I didn´t even know where to begin.
I had a daughter now, and she was a teenager already. A very mature teenager on top of that, I would have called her an adult if I didn´t know how old she was. I would have called her an adult from the first moment I´ve met her in that restaurant last Sunday.
Right now, she was excited like a child though, and that for a very good reason. I was feeling just the same way, I almost felt like a child myself as I just didn´t know how to handle this situation like an adult would. I guessed there wasn´t even a way or a need to act mature for something this emotional. Even Fenneko had troubles hiding it.
We both blindly followed her when she told us she knew a good place, after about ten minutes we got off the bus and followed her a few hundred meters down the street until we arrived at a rather large and sturdy looking gate.
She put a key into the lock by one of the pillars, turned it over and the gate electrically opened for us.
Lucy confidently led us onto the premises, up a little gravel road that ended by a really big, modern and expensive looking house. There was a ramp down towards an underground car-park, a really big porch, a swimming pool and a seemingly endless garden spreading into every direction. The hedges where neatly trimmed and the grass was mown to perfection. Rose bushes and cherry trees where blossoming and livened up the garden, the entire place was just the definition of pure luxury.
"So it´s actually true" Fenneko whispered lowly, looking around in a really respectful manner as well.
"What?" Lucy asked with an amused chuckle about our reaction.
"He´s Legoshi´s son" she explained.
Lucy nodded affirmingly. "Legoshi and Juno had been in the audience as well by the way! Come on, follow me!"
I just couldn't believe what was happening right now.
"A-are you sure this is okay?" I asked again, "I mean…"
"Sure it is" she chuckled, "I didn´t even ask for the key, Juno told me we could come here any time in case we needed a quiet place."
I took a short look towards Fenneko, she just shrugged her shoulders as well. I could tell she already wanted to grab her phone and start taking pictures of this celebrity´s home, but she had just as much respect of this place as me as it seemed like. It was really fancy and it truly had the standards of a celebrity movie-star of his importance.
She opened the main door with the same key, we found ourselves in quite a big hallway that led to even bigger, by sunlight flooded rooms. The living room was massive, there were a big table, some couches, sliding glass doors that lead to the porch and a full-size bar in this room. I didn´t even know where to look first.
It felt like I should feel uncomfortable being here, but somehow, after those news of me actually being her father, it wasn´t really that bad after all.
"So…were actually in Legoshi´s house right now?" I asked once again.
Lucy was on her way towards the bar quickly, got behind it for a moment, and when she returned she had three chilled bottles of water with her.
"Yup" she said with a smile, "Pretty cool, huh?"
"So you´re actually that close with Romeo already?" I asked with a chuckle when she reached me one of the bottles and one over to Fenneko.
"Yeah. His name is Leon by the way, and he´s really sweet. Just like his parents."
"I always enjoyed how down to earth he stayed over all these years" I said, trying to sort my thoughts, "I mean Legoshi. Back when I lived here, he was a Beastar, and he was well respected at the age of 18 already. I think I remember seeing him in a bar here once, just before I moved to Tokyo."
"Really?"
"Yeah" I said with a nod, taking a seat on one of the couches as well.
Fenneko was still walking across the living room with great interest, but she was listening to our conversation of course.
"…and in Tokyo I later got to know Kai, who was one of his drama-club pals in Cherryton."
She nodded understandingly. "I´ve seen the photos of them in the drama club hallway" she explained, "And I´ve met Kai here on Legoshi´s birthday party, just like you said. He was behind that bar most of the time, mixing some really good cocktails for us."
I nodded with a smile, this conversation really helped me to chill down right now. Seeing this place myself made it so much better. I could literally imagine it.
"…and pretty much a week ago, I met him in a bar in Tokyo once again" I continued.
"Why does he work as a bartender when he´s a TV-actor though?" she asked in slight puzzlement, "Doesn´t that pay enough to live in Tokyo?"
"I think he does it for the fun" I said with a shrug of my shoulders, "He likes the nightlife and he likes to get around. I don't think he has any problems on the money front."
She nodded understandingly, I tried to pick up my story again.
"…so when we met him last Friday, he just went: Ookami, back when you lived in your old hometown, have you ever met another maned wolf there?"
She already smiled a little bit.
"I asked why, and then he told me about you… …I…I still can´t believe how similar we look."
"It´s so unreal, right?" she said with a happy giggle.
"I now really wish I could see what she looks like as well" Fenneko told us lowly.
Lucy´s smile now faded a little bit slowly, she looked a little bummed out about that too.
"I really don't know much about her" she said lowly, "The letter they found besides me just said she was sorry. There wasn´t a phone number, there wasn't an address or a hint where she went. One of my foster parents told me she had met her before, she said she was quite unstable and insecure."
I just found myself nodding to all that. That was what I remembered about her as well, pretty much word for word.
I took a deep breath, then I began telling her about everything I knew about her: "She had been talking about wanting to have kids one day. She was really sweet and kind when I first met her, I thought she had a big heart and I thought she could be a good mother too. But then there were other days when it was totally different. And then after a few months, she was just gone all over sudden. She never reacted to any of my phone calls or texts, she was never seen in town anymore..."
Lucy just listened and nodded understandingly, I saw a tear slowly rolling down her cheeks. It was really sad to talk about this right now, and that urge to cry was a little contagious as well, but it wasn´t as bad as I thought it would be after all. The topic affected the both of us, so we shared the pain and it was only half as bad.
She slowly went over towards me, took a seat next to me on the couch and rested her head on my shoulders. I took her hand between both of mine gently, she looked right at me now.
"But I´m really glad I got to meet you" she said lowly, "And that you had the courage to come here and find out if it was true."
I rested my head on hers gently, just savoring this moment with a contented smile. It was a good thing we had talked about Laureen after all, this topic would have plagued me for quite a while.
Fenneko had already taken a couple of pictures of us by the time we separated from each other again. I didn´t even mind about that though, I was just so glad I was here with my daughter, that she was understanding and that she had gladly accepted me into her life.
There was nothing more I could have asked for really. The boulder had completely fallen off my shoulders now. It finally felt like I could relax a little bit.
"You two look so pretty" Fenneko told us with a happy giggle, still with her phone in her hands and her camera pointed towards us. We both instinctively gave her a little smile for that comment, it seemed like that was just what she had been counting on.
"Look at those smiles" she told us with a smile herself, "That´s the smile of winners if I´ve ever seen one!"
POV Leon
Having left Bailey and Julian to their business in the garden, and all the other students in the park behind us, we finally had made it towards our car and headed home.
I hadn´t even checked out the buffet in the cafeteria Sanu had been talking about, I really wanted to know about Lucy´s situation right now. I hoped they would forgive us for not being there this evening.
I was really curious what that letter said in the meanwhile, even though I had a slight foreboding already. When I texted her asking where she was, she just said "at home", so I was pretty sure we would encounter her and her dad right now when we made it up the stairs from the underground car park.
"Ooh this is so exciting!" my mom giggled when she closed the car door behind her, "I would be so happy for her if it was actually true!"
"Can you imagine?" Haru asked, "After sixteen years of growing up alone? She must be so happy!"
"Just where do I know this maned wolf from?" Legoshi asked himself once again, "I could have sworn I have met him before."
"Well…Lucy said he used to live here too" I reminded him, "Maybe it was back before he moved to Tokyo?"
He nodded slowly, but he didn´t seem to be entirely sure about that.
"Only one way to find out" my dad then chuckled, locking the car behind him and following us up the stairs.
"Leon!" she greeted me the moment she noticed us. She got off the couch and almost sprinted towards me, hugging me in a stormy way, "I found my dad!"
"Oh that´s awesome!" I told her happily, "So it´s actually true?"
"Congratulations" Juno told her, hugging her too, "I´m so happy for you!"
Just like I had expected, the other maned wolf was here too, he just got off the couch as well and came towards us slow- and respectfully. His fiancé followed him, they both seemed kinda shy to be here, but that was nothing I wasn´t used to after all. My dad still was a famous movie-star, nothing had changed about that.
"H-hey" he greeted us with a little wave, "Nice to meet you all! I´m Ookami" he introduced himself, "This is Fenneko! …uhm…Lucy took us here, I hope that´s okay?"
My parents of course just nodded with friendly and welcoming smiles.
"It´s more than just okay" my dad told him while shaking his hand, "Very nice to meet you too! I´m so happy you guys found each other!"
I noticed that Lucy had the letter in her hands right now, she already showed it to Juno and Haru in great excitement.
"Not sure that DNA test was really necessary" my mom said jokingly, "He could almost be your older brother!"
I found it a little awkward she really said that, but it also was kinda true on the other hand. He did just look like her.
"I´ll take it as a complement" Ookami chuckled with a humble smile.
"Oh, it was meant to be a complement" Juno giggled, "I bet Juliet turned a lot of boy´s heads on stage today."
They all nodded to that in agreement, I couldn´t hide a proud little smirk.
"They can turn their heads all they want" I told her with a little grin, "Romeo is not giving her back."
"You better not!" Lucy chuckled, giving me another quick kiss.
"I think all this calls for a little celebration, doesn´t it?" Haru asked joyfully, "I think we can all sleep in tomorrow."
"Can you stay a few more days?" Lucy now asked towards Ookami and Fenneko, "Or do you have to get back to Tokyo right away?"
"No" he said with a smile while shaking his head, "I´m not going anywhere, no matter what my boss says."
Fenneko nodded in agreement, Lucy looked really content about that as well.
"Awesome!" she celebrated in total excitement, "There is so much I need to ask you!"
He nodded with a little smile, it seemed like it was a little awkward for all of us to be just standing around here in the hallway.
"Is anyone else hungry?" I asked into the round, "I´m starving right now."
"Yes, please!" Lucy agreed with me.
"We used to sit together at a big table in the cafeteria after a drama-club premiere" Legoshi told us with an amused chuckle, "Sanu invited you all to that as well today, but I guess we had a good reason to leave earlier today."
We all nodded to that, but I thought there really was no reason to feel bad about it.
"I think they´ll understand" I said with a shrug of my shoulders, "It´s not every day something like this happens, right?"
We all nodded to that in agreement, then my mom had a pretty good idea.
"We could order a big sushi platter" she suggested light-heartedly, "We haven't done that in a while, and we surely have enough people to finish it tonight."
"I like that idea" I told her right away. Lucy nodded as well, so did Haru and Legoshi.
"You guys okay with sushi?" Legoshi asked our guests, they just politely nodded of course. It seemed like they still felt a bit out of place here, I truly hoped they would feel more comfortable around us soon.
"That´s really nice of you!" Ookami said, "…but we really don't want to be a burden here and-"
"Nonsense" my dad waved it off, "You´re not a burden here at all and you´re very welcome to join us for dinner! I think there is a lot of cause for celebration today!"
"I think so too" Juno said with a smile, "Please feel just like at home here, okay?"
They both nodded to that, I was already taking the lead towards the living room.
POV Ookami
"I think I´ve met you before" Legoshi told me with a friendly smile, pitching me a fancy glass full of a whiskey that didn´t look too cheap either, "…but I can´t quite recall when and where, it must have been quite a while ago…"
"Maybe you mean that one time at Jerome´s Bar sixteen years ago?" I asked him, remembering that day very well naturally, "You´ve been there with Skye and Miguno."
"Yes, that´s it!" he said, pointing towards me with an excited nod, "Miguno went over to the bar and talked to you for a little while!"
"Wait" Leon interrupted with great interest, "The Miguno? The Leftovers Miguno?"
Both Legoshi and I found ourselves nodding to that question. Fenneko now just stared at me as well, shaking her head in slight disbelief.
"So that story is actually true?"
"We actually met two times before" I mentioned with a nod, "In a bar in Tokyo. I´m not sure if you remember, you were there to see Kai, but Fenneko and I were sitting at the bar as well that night."
"Damn" Legoshi chuckled with a slow nod, "That must have been what…ten years ago?"
I nodded affirmingly, raising my glass with all the others at the table.
We all tried the old but rather mild whiskey Legoshi poured us, I thought it tasted really nice.
Leon pulled a bit of a face, Lucy seemed to enjoy it quite a lot too.
I actually felt quite content with my situation right now. I just had a casual conversation with one of Japan´s most beloved, respected and humble actors, and him and his family were even nicer than I could ever have anticipated. He really was down to earth about himself, it was not just for good press.
But then I suddenly was in for a little bit of a shock, as his fiancé suddenly addressed me with a little smirk: "Unrelated to that" she mentioned, putting her glass down, "I somehow have the feeling I´ve seen you before as well. Even though I´ve not been at either one of those events."
Really hoping she wouldn't recognize me from the side hustle Fenneko and I were doing sometimes, I just shrugged my shoulders with a little smirk. Now that I found out I was a father, this was a topic I hoped would not come up in a very long time. I´ve enjoyed my little modeling career with Fenneko so far, but now I felt a very embarrassed about that all over sudden.
"We´re a really rare species after all" Lucy reminded her, "Maybe that´s because you remember seeing him."
"Yeah…that made finding each other quite a bit easier I suppose" I agreed with a smile, happy I somewhat dodged that other topic for now. "I guess it wouldn't ever have happened if Kai hadn´t said anything."
"That old rascal" Legoshi said while shaking his head with an ironic smile, "Guess we should raise a glass to him!"
"What a barkeeper!" Leon chuckled in amusement, taking another sip from his glass of whiskey.
I took a short moment to look at my phone now, it had been vibrating for the better part of the last three minutes in the meanwhile.
Fenneko had posted a picture she took of Lucy and I in our group chat with Haida and Retsuko, and just as predicted this was quite a big topic right now. I couldn´t answer any of their questions right now though, I didn´t want to be rude to our hosts of course. But at least I now knew they would have our back in case Ton wouldn´t agree on letting us take us a few more days of vacation.
"So…" Lucy then began another topic as we still were waiting for the sushi to arrive, "What do you guys do so you can afford living in a city like Tokyo?"
"Oh" I chuckled lowly, being a little surprised this was actually the next topic coming up, "We´re just boring accountants at a Trading firm. Nothing too special."
"What, really?" Leon asked in slight surprise.
We just nodded with a little shrug of our shoulders, I wasn´t quite sure what he had expected us to tell him right now. But Fenneko did, apparently. Sadly.
"Well, there are some side hustles" she told them with a little giggle, sadly before I even had the chance to stop her. I should have known she wouldn´t be trying to hide that, I should have known she would actually really enjoy this.
We haven't told anybody but Haida and Retsuko about that so far, with the exception of Tsunoda who found it out through social media somehow, and I would have preferred it to stay like that as well. Not even Kai knew about this, even though I probably wouldn't even mind him knowing about it.
A lot of people saw the ads of the clothing brands we were modelling for, but nobody had actually figured out it was us yet.
"What do you do?" Lucy asked in slight puzzlement.
"Uh…" I said slowly, searching for something to switch the topic, "…well…"
All eyes were on us right now, Fenneko still couldn't hide a little grin. She was just such a little devil sometimes.
Juno now suddenly started grinning as well, then she pointed at me. "Now I know where I´ve seen you before!" she then yelled laughing.
"Oh no" I said lowly, putting both my hands in front of my face in great shame.
Fenneko was laughing loudly as well now, my fate was already sealed.
"What, where?" Lucy asked with great interest.
"Nowhere" I tried to avert it, even though I already knew I was doomed, "I´m pretty sure she must be confusing me."
"Oh nonono" Juno laughed, "I´m not confusing anything pretty boy…"
She already started searching for something on her phone, I really wanted to sink into the ground right now. "…you better own it before I find that commercial."
"What?" Lucy giggled in surprise, "You´re a commercial actor?"
I just shook my head with a little sigh. Not because it wasn´t true, I just couldn't believe this was really happening.
"Well, technically" Fenneko grinned at me in amusement.
"Yeah…" I sighed, "Thanks for that."
"Come on, spill it out already" Lucy giggled in great excitement.
From the corner of my eyes I just noticed how Juno showed the screen of her phone to the white dwarf rabbit sitting next to her, and she was beginning to smile as well now.
"God, this is so embarrassing" I muttered lowly.
Legoshi just smiled in great amusement.
"Well, I mean…" Juno chuckled, "Not too bad, really!"
I just kept on shaking my head.
"You too by the way" the wolfess smiled at Fenneko, "Great poses! That suits you so well!"
"Thank you" she giggled proudly. I should have known that she would really enjoy this.
"Poses?" Leon asked curiously, "Are you two models?"
I started nodding slowly, I could see how Lucy´s face was lighting up even more right now.
"What, really?" she asked, "That´s so cool!"
"Ah…" I said, "I think…I think we´ve talked about this enough now."
Juno just grinned even wider, then she just shook her head with a devilish smirk.
"Come on" Lucy giggled, "Show me!"
"Please…" I sighed, "…just."
"You´re doing underwear and swim-wear, aren't you?" Leon asked me all over sudden.
"W-what?" I stuttered, "I-I mean…"
"Let me tell you" he laughed, waving it off casually, "My mom wouldn´t find that so funny if she wasn't doing that herself. Don't let her fool you, she´s not all that innocent either."
Juno really just grinned about this in amusement, it seemed like there was some truth to what her son told us.
"Wait" Legoshi now asked with a chuckle, "You´re that maned wolf? From the TV commercials?"
"Oh my god" I sighed in pure embarrassment, "You actually know those?!"
"Yeah" he chuckled light-heartedly, "I have to stay in hotels a lot when I´m out of town for film shoots. I think it´s on multiple different channels when you turn on the TV at night…"
"See?" Fenneko asked me with a big smile, "We´re famous! Even John Wick thinks it´s cool!"
"Pfff" Lucy laughed in amusement, all the others had big grins on their faces as well.
I still was just left shaking my head in pure disbelief. "Oh my god, Fenn" I sighed, "You know I love you, but can you please…"
"What?" she giggled, "You can consider yourself a big star now!"
"Yeah, alright…" I sighed, "…it almost can´t get any more embarrassing anymore anyway, can it?"
"Ohh…" she grinned, "Try me!"
POV Legoshi
I really liked these two. I knew him for the better part of an hour now and I already knew he would maintain a good relationship with his daughter and everything around her life. I was proud of him for showing up here and taking this step, and I was glad he followed her all the way towards my house so we could meet him as well.
"You know" I told him with a little wink as he still seemed a little embarrassed about his side hustle as an underwear model, "You learned you´re a father just about 2 hours ago. Don't be so hard on yourself."
"Yeah" Lucy told him as well, "I think there are worse things you can be known for."
"Oh really?" he asked her with a smile, "I´d rather trade with you to be honest. Some pretty successful actors started out on that stage. And I have the feeling you´re gonna be one of them someday."
"Aww" she chuckled teasingly, "You´re just saying that because you´re my dad now!"
He just smiled about that comment a little bit, there wasn´t really anything he could answer to that.
"Just a few more years and she´ll bring in so much cash, you won´t even need to model for underwear anymore" Fenneko said jokingly, deliberately bringing that topic up once again.
We all laughed about this on his expense once again, it was just too funny not to. But he knew we didn´t mean it in a bad way, obviously.
"Yeah…" he sighed with a little smile, "…but at least I get my underwear for free therefore!"
"How did you even get into that business?" Lucy asked with great interest, "Because you know Kai?"
"Haha no" he said while shaking his head, pointing towards his girlfriend then, "Instagram, actually."
"Really?" Lucy chuckled.
The fennec vixen nodded affirmingly. "Yeah. I had fun dressing him up in different outfits, people found it funny and our channel grew" she explained, "We continued doing it for a while, and eventually some companies asked us if we wanted to do this professionally."
"Oh I really need the handle of your channel" Juno told her with a chuckle, "That sounds like fun already!"
"Uh…" Ookami said, "It´s too bad our channel just got deleted and banned forever. I really wanted to show you guys, but-"
"How cool is this?" Fenneko asked him with a big grin and a nudge, "More potential followers!"
And with that she already had it opened on her phone and handed it over to Juno, who immediately began scrolling with great excitement.
Lucy now turned towards Leon with a big grin. "What do you say I dress you up and put you on Instagram as well?"
Ookami had his head lying on the table in the meanwhile, it seemed like dodging that topic hadn't worked out in his favor at all.
I decided to pour him another glass of the fancy whiskey Aoba had gifted to me for my birthday. Lucy tried to console him a little bit as well by walking around the table and hugging him from behind. She looked as content as one could be in my opinion.
She gently nuzzled the top of his head, he looked up towards her with a proud little smirk.
"You guys really look cute together" Haru commented with an amused smirk, "I´m so happy for you that you found each other!"
"Yeah, me too" I agreed, "That´s really cool."
"I just hope we can see each other often enough though" Ookami said lowly, "It´s quite a distance towards Tokyo, sadly…"
"We´ll help out as much as we can" I waved it off, "Don't even worry about it. There is always a guest room available."
"That´s so kind of you" I said lowly, "But we really don't want to be a burden, only if it´s really okay."
I just nodded with a sincere smile, I was more than happy to support them.
"I think it´s okay if we get a free underwear fashion show every once in a while…" Juno told him with an ironic smirk. She was still scrolling on Fenneko´s phone, she showed me some of their work occasionally. This topic was just gold for her of course, she enjoyed that by far too much to ever be stopped.
"…oh I think that can be arranged" Fenneko affirmed with a big grin herself.
"You know they´re gonna enjoy this topic until the end of your days" Leon told Ookami with a little grin, "They´re way too horny, usually…"
"Leon!" Juno giggled.
"What?" he grinned back, "It´s true!"
She just couldn't help but grin about that widely, Haru and I couldn't hide a smirk either. He surely did have a point there, there was no denying it.
Lucy just chuckled happily, Fenneko grinned at her fiancé like she wanted him to confess something.
"Well…" he sighed with a little smirk himself now, "That´s fair after all. I guess I´m not that innocent either. Fenneko probably won´t let me have that anyway."
She shook her head with a devilish little grin, he didn't look too surprised about that.
"I guess that never hurt nobody" I said with a chuckle, "I think it´s nothing to be ashamed about."
POV Lucy
I just loved everything about this, my dad was just such a playboy. I could already tell he was cool and fun and a really sweetheart where it mattered. I liked to think he was a lot like me, I thought that it suited the both of us quite well. When I had hoped we would be at least a little bit on the same wave-length, I had never expected us to be this similar in nature.
I could have gone on with that funny conversation the entire night, but then the delivery person from the sushi restaurant finally rang at the gate and Legoshi got on his way to get it for us.
Haru now leaned over towards Leon with a little smile.
"Those two friends of yours in the garden…" she began.
"Yeah?" Leon asked.
"They´ve definitely been in the shed before we knocked at the door, haven't they?" she asked with a grin.
That question made Leon smile a little bit as well, then he nodded.
"That´s what I was thinking too, yeah."
"Good old days, weren't they?" Juno asked the bunny with a little nudge.
"See?" Leon asked with a grin towards his mom, "There it is again!"
"What?" she giggled, "It´s a convenient place to hang out, nothing to argue about that!"
"Wait…" I chuckled, now finally understanding, "Do you mean Bailey and Julian?"
"Yeah, that´s their names!" Juno affirmed with a nod, "Quite cute those two!"
"Oh yeah…" I grinned, "…Bailey told me she really likes it up there in the garden."
"It´s always been a nice place to be at" Juno chuckled towards Haru, "…hasn´t it, bunny girl?"
"Oh shush" she giggled back, nudging her back a little, "I remember how you liked to hide from your dormmates up there too you know. Remember that other wolf girl who´s guts you really hated?"
"You mean Vera?" Juno asked, "Yeah…I wonder what she´s up to now."
"Wait…" my dad suddenly interrupted, "She actually was a dormmate of yours?"
"You know her?!" Juno asked in great surprise.
Ookami nodded slowly. "I haven't seen her in quite a while, but she used to hang out in her uncle´s night club in Tokyo. She told me about her time at Cherryton and how she had a big crush on Legoshi…but she never mentioned you for some reason."
"Oh wow…" Leon´s mom chuckled lowly, apparently feeling kinda bad for her, "Yeah, I can imagine why. …what´s she up to in Tokyo?"
"Well…not much I think" Ookami sighed, "She was getting around a lot. I think Kai could tell you quite some stories about her as well."
It seemed like he didn´t really want to talk more about that, he even seemed slightly ashamed about it. I already had a slight foreboding.
"She´s quite a nymphomaniac" Fenneko took over for him, having sensed that this still was quite an interesting topic for us, "And let me tell you, Legoshi was not the only one she´s had her eyes on."
She now grinned at Ookami sheepishly, he noticeably felt quite uncomfortable about that.
"Dad, you´re such a Playboy, aren't you?" I grinned at him light heartedly.
Fenneko immediately gave me a high-five for that comment, Ookami just buried his face in his hands once again.
He really was not that innocent either, and I found it really cute and sweet how he was a little ashamed about it.
While we still chuckled about that, Legoshi came back into the living room with a big box of smaller sushi boxes in his hands and put it down onto the big dining room table for us. Leon helped him unboxing the food and spreading it across the table for everybody. It looked delicious and there surely was plenty for all of us to get completely stuffed.
Right now I truly thought my life literally couldn't be any better anymore. And I thought this was a good opportunity to share another little secret with all of them. Something I hadn´t had the opportunity to think about all day already. Not even Leon knew about this.
"Man, what a day!" I exclaimed for everyone, "I found my dad, our premiere went well, we have great food and a whole weekend in front of us. Greatest birthday ever!"
