Chapter 11: Reunion
Turning, Clem couldn't believe it when she saw, of all people standing there, Brody.
"Brody, you...you're alive?" She gasped.
Brody smiled. "Yeah, not just me."
Her eyes widened as she saw the others, Louis, Aasim, Ruby, Willy and Tenn, they were all present and alive.
"You, how…?"
Louis laughed. "Surprising huh. It sure was for us too, we thought that was it, we were done."
Nodding Aasim then confirmed. "It was the people here, one of them, Paul Monroe. He and a group of people with him just, seemed to come out of nowhere and attacked the Stormtroopers, this was after Nyx and that woman, Lilly, disappeared."
"They took out the Stormtroopers and then got us away onto their ship." Ruby explained. "But we...well, you were already gone, with that boy."
Clem bowed her head, biting her lip. "I'm sorry guys, I just...it was fight or flight and I wasn't able to-"
"We know that Clem, those guys were ruthless, they, they already killed Marlon and Mitch, remember." Willy said quickly, trying hard not to choke up.
Clementine sighed. "There's so much I wish I could change, but after all that's been done...I don't even know-"
"Clem...You never told us you were a Jedi...It's because you were afraid, right…" Tenn said quietly, drawing everyone's attention. "Just like Violet, like my sisters with their Force capabilities?"
Clementine sighed but nodded; they had seen it with their own eyes, there was no sense in hiding things anymore.
Before she could explain, she heard her name being called again. It was Sarah and Gabe, Gabe now in different clothes, no longer in his Imperial uniform.
"Clem, are you alright, I heard what happened-" Sarah blurted out. "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean."
The others just smiled and Louis replied. "It's alright, so um...Clem?"
Clementine nodded and smiled.
"Sarah, Gabe, these are my friends from Crunus…" She said, before introducing them all.
As she did so the Ericsons crew took special note of Gabe.
"You're the Imperial who turned against them, to save Clem, aren't you?" Ruby queried.
Gabe nodded, nervously. "Um, yeah."
Brody smiled warmly to him. "Thank you for that, this has been crazy, but I'm just glad we've all made it here."
"Why were you worried about Clem, though? Did something happen?" Aasim wondered.
Gabe looked at Clem worriedly and she just nodded. "It's alright, let's just tell them."
He nodded and together they began to explain about the meeting with Tripp and the others and what they had asked of Clementine. By the end they were all shocked and horrified.
"Clem, that's…" Sarah gasped.
Ruby glared. "They've got some nerve, trying to guilt you into helping them, despite everything you've already been through."
"Even so...I still shouldn't have lost control like that. The risks I took doing that. A lesson for you there Sarah." Clem explained. "An important factor in concealing your Force Powers, self-control."
A moment of silence followed as they tried to still fully absorb the impact of what had been revealed.
Finally, with everything having been revealed and cleared up, Clementine took a deep breath.
"Like Tenn said, I was scared guys, that's why I didn't say anything." She said. "I'm sorry about that, I put you all in danger and, now...everything has just fallen apart. We were just lucky we all got here."
"Clem, please, don't worry about it." Brody spoke up. "It's all okay, we're back together now and we'll be able to try and push through this."
"I hope so, Brody, I'm so sorry about Marlon...And Willy, I know you and Mitch…" She replied.
Willy just nodded while Brody replied. "I think...I think Marlon actually suspected about you, maybe Violet too. That's why he stepped up like he did, to try and protect you."
"Violet...she's not here?"
"I...No, she's not here...she, she was taken by the Imperials." Tenn said sadly.
Clem's shoulders slumped at that; she had held onto a little bit of hope, but now it had been quashed. It was clear however that she wasn't the only one. The rest of the Ericsons crew all looked downcast too.
"Violet?" Sarah asked. "Is she-?"
Clementine sighed. "Violet is one of us, she's like you and me Sarah. She's, important to me and now it looks like, I don't know what's happened to her, nobody seems to."
The others all nodded and they lapsed into a worried silence. But then, before they could say anything else, Gabe looked up and noticed something.
"Hey, that's another ship coming in."
They turned and saw he was right, a ship was coming in to land.
Louis then spoke up. "Huh, looks like a smuggler ship, that make is popular with them."
"Oh, I think I know who it might be, c'mon." Sarah replied with a wide grin.
Confused yet not worried due to Sarah's smile, the others followed her as they went to see who had just arrived at Valunt.
