Chapter 16: Battle of Ientor Part 2

The pressure was intense, there had been a fair few more Imperials than they had thought, luckily their hopes that the Imperials hadn't known about the Ericsons crew joining and thus bolstering the rebel numbers proved right. It was clear from the shouts of surprise that they weren't expecting so many assailants.

"C'mon guys, press our advantage, even if we're not here for a war, take out as many as we can." Brody called out. "It'll make escaping when we're done that much easier."

"Exactly." Aasim agreed. "We need to-Whoa!"

"Aasim?!"

They almost froze when several rapid fire blaster bolts struck Aasim's cover, almost damaging it and striking him. They saw the one responsible, a Heavy Assault Stormtrooper armed with a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon, which provided him with a frontal deflector shield too.

"He's firing again!" Louis cried.

"Look out!"

But it was too late, he fired, the others were all trying to deal with enemies firing at them so despite their best efforts the Ericsons crew were on their own and unable to break cover to flank him. Worse, Aasim's cover was suddenly pulverized but just as he was about to get hit, there was a scream.

"Ruby!"

Aasim gasped in horror as he and Ruby ended up behind more solid cover, but one of the blaster bolts had struck her shoulder.

"Urgh, man…"

"Ruby, hold on." Aasim cried, helping her into a sitting position against their cover and began trying to at least bandage the wound.

Meanwhile, everyone else was startled by another blaster shot suddenly hitting the Heavy Assault Stormtrooper in the side, taking him down.

"What the-" Louis began before the culprit appeared next to him. "Willy?!"

Willy grinned. "Looks like I got here just in time."

"What are you doing here, you're not supposed to-" Louis began but then groaned. "Oh no...Tenn...Sarah?"

Willy nodded. "Yup, we're all here, you honestly think you could just leave us behind like that, when we have to-"

"Willy, this is not about revenge, we're on an important mission. No matter what we want to do, when Gabe, Javi and Clem get back from their missions we are to retreat, no exception." Louis told him firmly.

Willy shook his head. "I get that, but still, you can't just leave me behind, leave Tenn behind."

"Where is he?"

Then Carlos's voice came over the communicator. "And Sarah, I can't believe you brought her here, when I find her-"

"Hey, chill, it was her idea." Willy countered. "They um, they went after Clem."

That again filled them with stunned silence before more blaster bolts hitting nearby forced them to focus once more on the battle, their worries having to be put aside for now.

Entering the Jedi shrine, Clementine looked around, eyes wide. The room was large and carved out of the living rock, rather beautiful in its natural way. Also around the room were large pillars, expertly carved and yet weathered with age. But what truly caught her attention was the pedestal in the centre of the large room. On top of it, floating a few inches off of it was a moderately sized cube shaped object of a crystalline appearance, it was something Clementine hadn't seen in years, but recognized right away.

'A Jedi Holocron...here...is this what's inside the shrine on Valunt as well...but why…?' She wondered. 'I don't understand, what is this doing here? I thought all Holocrons were in the Jedi archives and were lost to the Empire...how long has this been here, did the Jedi Council even know?'

Confused but not deterred, Clementine stepped up to the pedestal and took hold of the Holocron, lifting it from the pedestal, gasping slightly at the strong feeling of the Force that flowed from the Holocron to her. Then she sensed it and quickly stashed the Holocron in the pack she had brought with her, just as the voice spoke up.

"How wonderful to see you again, Clementine."

She turned and standing there, igniting her unstable lightsaber, was Nyx. Worse, she wasn't alone, with her was another figure, clad in similar armour, only without the markings which identified Nyx, who also ignited a red bladed lightsaber, albeit this one was not unstable.

Clementine pulled out her own lightsaber, keeping herself ready to act at the slightest movement, but wary as now she realized there was twice as much danger.

"As you can see, you won't have such an easy escape this time. Nobody to come and save you and I have a new ally." Nyx taunted. "Now, this is very interesting, what is in that Holocron you just took?"

Clementine shook her head. "Even if I knew, you think I'd tell you."

"Oh, so you didn't learn how to work Holocrons, did you?" Nyx scoffed.

"More like I just didn't bother to open it yet. So, this is what it's come to then?" Clementine countered.

Nyx nodded. "Yes, what a shame, I guess we'll just have to kill you and take it for ourselves. What a fool you are, falling into our trap."

"You mean the pretty obvious trap that we all knew about before starting this mission." Clementine countered. "Why else would we have set things up the way we did. Or did you not notice that we planned carefully, that we didn't all land on the planet."

Nyx paused, clearly startled. "What?"

Clementine smiled and nodded. "Afraid so, too bad huh?"

"You!"

With a roar Nyx launched herself at Clem who quickly ignited her lightsaber just in time to block the strike.

That was all that Nyx's ally needed to also leap in, forcing Clem to push Nyx back and block this strike before also pushing back and assuming her defensive stance.

"When are you going to learn, that can't save you." Nyx taunted.

Clementine however wasn't trying to fight this battle, just buy time to find a way out. She refused to reply and sure enough this goaded Nyx and her ally into giving into their rage and attack. Clem blocked the strikes again and weaved around them but they pressed the attack, forcing Clementine to continue to block and push back, but then trouble started as Nyx suddenly flipped over Clementine and blocked her retreat.

"Did you think that would work, pathetic." Nyx taunted.

Clementine grimaced and had to duck out the way, trying to prevent herself from being double teamed. As she did so she couldn't help but wonder just what the story with Nyx's new Dark Side ally was, especially as they were yet to make a sound and Clementine had nothing but their body shape to confirm that said figure was female, like Nyx.

It did not take them long to find a turbolift close to the control room.

"One floor down, do we risk it?" Javi asked.

Gabe nodded. "Might as well, would hate to disappoint them if it's part of their trap."

Stifling a laugh at his sarcasm, Javi agreed and they entered the turbolift, heading down a level. Nothing eventful happened so they exited, Gabe pointed down one way of the corridor they were in.

"Alright, one of them is down that way, the other, this way." He explained, pointing the opposite way. "Guess we split up here."

Javi sighed. "I'm starting to think this part here is the trap, but yeah. I'll take this way."

So with that he hurried down the corridor. Gabe watched him go, a little anxious, but quickly pulled it together.

'Here we go.' He told himself.

Swallowing nervously he made his way down the other corridor, blaster at the ready, but to his surprise he found little to no resistance. He knew this wasn't right and was dreading what he would find. But then he heard it, screams, screams of agony that told him only one thing.

'Torture, they're torturing her, and that sounds like…' His eyes widened in horror. 'Kate!'

He quickened his pace and burst into the room to find it was a rather plain circular room, save for a bed like device in the middle, upon which Kate was restrained while large panels, sparking electricity tortured her.

"No!"

He rushed towards her only to cry out as he hit the ground, hit in the back by a Stormtrooper armed with a riot baton.

Meanwhile Javi hurried along until he reached the end of the corridor, ahead of him was a door. He quickly verified it wasn't locked and after it was open he hurried through, finding himself in a cell block.

'Cell block, a whole cell block, but no prisoners, except…' He mused before gasping.

"Uncle Javi!?"

"Mari!" He cried.

He rushed forwards towards her, she was in the cell at the far end of the room, opposite the door. She shook her head however.

"No, uncle Javi, don't!" She cried. "It's a trick, he-!"

But before Mari could say anything else Javi stopped dead before leaping to the side, the blaster shot went off and missed him, hitting the wall, right by Mari's cell.

"You, how dare you show yourself here!"

Javi struggled to his feet, turning around, finding himself face to face with his brother.
