Chapter 20: Changing Course

With the others all waiting for her, Clementine approached the large doors of the Valunt Shrine, just like the one on Ientor. Knowing what to do Clem reached out and touched the door, letting the Force flow through her again and the doors opened with a rumble. Entering the shrine she looked around, it was just like the one in Ientor although if anything it did look somewhat older, but only by a couple of years.

'I wonder, were these set up to protect these Holocrons, Jedi teachings...or is there more to it, those strange messages on the sides…' She mused as she approached the central pedestal.

Sure enough there was another Holocron hovering on it and when Clem took it, feeling the power within she opened it and sure enough it contained more teachings and similar strange messages.

Clementine's eyes opened wide. 'This is...I'm sure there is more to this, it's not just about the teachings, useful though they will be...but these markings, messages...there has to be something.'

But she knew this wasn't the time to dwell on it, not until she had spoken to the others. This was something they needed to work out together.

Returning to the meeting room where all the top members of the Invisibles were present, Clementine stepped up and pulled out both Holocrons.

"Well, it's as suspected, we now have two Holocrons, both of them contain Jedi teachings." She explained. "With this I'm sure I could finish my training...and it looks like I may be able to help you after all, Tripp."

Tripp nodded at that. "But something is bothering you?"

She nodded and opened both Holocrons at the same time, causing the images inside to merge.

"Those strange messages and markings I saw, if we merge the images, they actually start to make sense." Clementine explained. "It's almost as if, there's a secret hidden in these Holocrons that only makes sense when they are together."

"What does that say?" Paul asked, noting one of the messages. "When four and four meet, the true one will be shown?"

Clementine nodded. "I'm thinking it's a hint...it's possible there are more Holocrons...Which would make these numbers...co-ordinates."

"I've heard that before." Tripp gasped. "We need to really talk about this...I have important news to tell you all. I think I know what this is about. If it's true, then we're going to be gearing up for a whole new fight."

That put them all on edge, but they knew they had to focus, it was time to get to work.

Meanwhile, on board the Impulse, tension was high. The Stormtroopers and regular troops all stood rigidly, fearfully, while Minerva and Violet remained stoic as they stood to the side. Meanwhile David and Lilly were in the middle of the room, engaged in what was practically a shouting match.

"You screwed everything up, you ruined my grandest moment, because you just had to be weak, didn't you Garcia!" Lilly snapped.

David shook his head. "That's you all over isn't it, anything goes wrong, it's never your fault! You always find someone to blame!"

Lilly snarled. "How dare you, I do not-!"

"You failed to anticipate them having alternate plans!" David countered. "You thought they'd honestly all land, didn't you even think of how they might act, any possible they might make?"

"I'm starting to think that's your fault, you told them that, didn't you!" Lilly shot back. "After all, none of them are capable of thinking up something like that themselves, if they were that smart they'd know they couldn't stand against the Empire. We have a mole and I believe you-"

David cut her off. "Enough, you should be careful throwing around nonsense like that. Especially when it'll get you in trouble now."

"Excuse me, I am the Commander of Vader's Fist and-" Lilly roared.

David interrupted, having regained his composure. "-And by order of the Emperor, we are all to answer to a new leader, who will be taking charge of our operations for the foreseeable future."

Lilly almost choked on her anger but then the door to the room opened and a man stepped in.

"I do hope you learn to control your temper commander." He said. "Otherwise I'll have to take measures."

Lilly froze, eyes wide with fear. The man was tall and thin, clad in an Imperial uniform, he was fair skinned with blue eyes and iron grey hair, a wrinkled face with sunken cheeks. On his uniform was a coloured rank plate with six blue squares above three red and three yellow squares. David then introduced him, confirming Lilly's fears.

"Allow me to present our new commanding officer. Newly appointed Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin."

End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.

Well, this is the end of part 1, I will now be taking a hiatus to focus on a new story, but rest assured I will be coming back to this.
