Across The Stars
Next chapter of the battle, a deliberately short one, mainly due to it's rather unnerving cliffhanger.
Reviews
Boris Yeltsin: Thanks, yup, there you have it. Um, but it's clear she did, it's from Clem's memories after all.
Wolfgirl2013: Thanks :)
Now onto the story.

Chapter 38: Battle of Valunt – Part 4
Pushing Clementine and Sarah back Minerva looked over at her and then at them, anger contorting her features. But Clem's anger was still bubbling over and she just wanted this to end, to get away from it all. So she did the only thing she could. Calling on as much strength as she could she raised her arms.
"Clem!" Sarah cried in horror.
But it was too late and, startling even Minerva, Clem brought the roof of the shrine down, a torrent of rubble which brought a sudden and unexpected end to the battle.
Coughing and struggling to her feet Minerva looked around, the shrine was in ruins, rubble was piled everywhere and the floor had partly caved in, leading to the caverns below. She spotted Violet right next to her, still clutching her eye, groaning in pain.
"Get up." Minerva insisted. "We've gotta find them, we-"
But then suddenly her communicator sounded.
"Minerva, it's Lily. You and Violet are both to leave the shrine at once and return to the Impulse."
Minerva glowered. "You think you can just-"
"These are his orders." Lily said briskly.
Minerva swallowed, she didn't need to ask who Lily meant. Shaking her head she forced Violet to her feet and shoved her again, leaving the shrine together.

Watching as her surviving forces returned to the Impulse, the Bounty Hunters having already taken off with their prisoners and the Invisibles almost all fled Lily smirked as the irate Minerva reached her, pulling along Violet, whom Lily noticed was injured.
"What is the meaning of calling us back, we-"
Lily shook her head. "Those were his orders, now let's go. We have to leave, again, orders."
Minerva grumbled but they boarded the ship, their mission apparently successful and so they took off, ready to join their surviving fleet and to return to Nar Shaddaa.

Groaning as she woke up Sarah looked around, all around her was darkness. She began to panic before an idea set in. She luckily still held her lightsaber and so she held it up and ignited it, allowing its light to show her surroundings. She was in some sort of cave, rubble from the shrine surrounded her but she was alive.
"Clem!"
Clementine was alive too and sitting listless on a nearby rock, looking horrified.
"Clem, talk to me, what-?" Sarah began, moving to kneel next to her.
Clementine shook her head. "The others called...they've fled. We bought all the time we needed. Our ships are waiting in the hanger, coordinates are already set. Go."
"What?"
"Go, get to the ship and flee." She explained.
Sarah gasped. "What, Clem, no. I'm not leaving you."
"You can't be around me Sarah, how can you...you heard it, it's the truth. It's all my fault, I killed Lee, I killed my master!" Clementine insisted. "Just go without me, go!"
"But-"
Sarah never got to finish however for at that moment a sound reached their ears. Sarah looked around, startled and confused. Clementine however froze, rigid with absolute terror. For the sound was very familiar to her, a very familiar rhythmic rasping breathing.
End of chapter and now we hear something familiar, it should be pretty obvious, but no less scary, exactly what that breathing is. Read and review please.
