Chapter 41: Negotiations

The Antar Atrocity stood as a fine example of exactly the sort of person Wilhuff Tarkin was. Equally legendary was the terrifying way he had dealt with Q'anah's Marauders. So it was with some incredulity that anyone who discovered the location, wondering what notorious crime boss William Carver was doing, housing his base and indeed ruling the entire planet of Antar VI. A mere two planets away from Antar IV where said atrocity took place. It left some wondering if there was some secret agreement between Carver and Tarkin, or if Carver was just foolishly brave of bravely foolish and set up there to metaphorically slap Tarkin in the face. This knowledge had recently been acquired by Sarah as she pulled her cloak around herself, making sure her hood was up and made her way towards the front door of the 'palace' that Carver occupied with his men.

'I just hope Becca and Kate are still okay...that he hasn't...touched them.' She thought to herself.

It had taken a week for them to get everything all set up and now Sarah had to make her entrance. Everybody else involved in the rescue attempt had already infiltrated the palace. They had set things up and now they needed to put their plan into action, all to save their friends and family from this evil crime lord.

Opening the large door, Sarah stepped inside and looked around, brow furrowed at the overbearing opulence on display. There were people all around, laughing, gambling, drinking. She was relieved to notice that, due to her familiarity with the others she did spot the in the crowd, but nobody else looked twice at them. Vince, Bonnie, Wyatt, Russell, Javier, Molly and Luke were all stationed throughout the building, all ready to act. Meanwhile, Shel met her gaze and nodded to her, she was ready too. It was time.

"Hey, you. What are you doing here?" A man growled.

Sarah remained calm as he approached her aggressively.

"You don't belong here, do you?" He snapped. "You need to-"

Sarah calmly waved her hand. "You have no reason to stop me."

The man stopped, hesitated for a moment and then mumbled "I have no reason to stop you."

"I need to see Carver right away." She added.

He nodded in response. "You should see Carver right away."

"Take me too him."

He gestured for her to follow. "I'll take you to him."

They began making their way across the floor, Sarah relieved that she had remembered Clementine's lessons well and that her mind trick had gone off perfectly. She knew Carver wouldn't fall for it though, he' was clearly too much of a strong willed person.

She soon saw Carver as she was brought before him, a tall broad shouldered man in his forties with greying dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and white skin. He was dressed smartly and yet even then he looked dangerous. Looking up and seeing her, he glared.

"Troy!" He barked at the man who brought her. "Who the hell is this, I told you I wasn't to be disturbed-"

Sarah lowered her hood and spoke. "My name is Sarah...I am a Jedi who has come to negotiate with you."

That drew the attention of all those nearest and soon whispers were spreading as eyes began turning their way.

Carver quirked an eyebrow. "Oh really, pretty one. Well what would a Jedi want with me?"

Sarah ignored that comment about her and continued. "You have two young women captive, brought to you recently by bounty hunters-"

She glared pointedly at Arvo and his crew at that point.

"There names are Becca and Kate. I have to negotiate for their release."

The smarmy grin on his face disappeared and he glared.

"No deal. I'm not-"

Sarah shook her head. "Before you even think of refusing. I'm well aware of what's going on in here and we're already prepared."

"We?"

It was then the others revealed themselves, especially Shel which made Carver's eyes bug out.

"You-"

Shel glowered. "You will let my sister go."

Carver looked around, and then darkly smirked.

He raised his hand.

"You think this is enough, alright everyone, teach these-"

Sarah cut him off again. "I thought you'd say that, let's show him what we've done."

With that they all pulled out their detonators and revealed, to the shock and horror of all Carver's gang, and the bounty hunters, present that they had set Thermal Detonators around the entire building.

"These are also dead man switches so if you kill any one of us, they'll go off." Sarah explained calmly. "You either release Becca and Kate to us and let us leave...or nobody leaves."

Carver snarled and everybody looked at him, clearly showing their fear.

"Alright enough, calm down." He snapped at them. "You two, get those prisoners up here."

The two he spoke to hurried towards a distant staircase and hurried down. Arvo stepped forwards quickly.

"But, we...our deal." He spluttered.

Carver glowered. "Shut up, don't dare question me or you'll regret it, punk."

Silence reigned as the tension mounted, when at that moment they heard the approach and Becca and Kate were brought upstairs.
