Now onto the story.

Chapter 42: Breakdown

Becca and Kate stared in shock, noticing the scene around them, both blushing due to being reduced to their underwear at some point during their captivity. Their hands were cuffed and their mouths sealed, but luckily they seemed otherwise unharmed. Carver gestured and the two, who Sarah then recognized as being Buricko and Vitali, two of the bounty hunters, who had brought Becca and Kate up, dragged them over to stand by Carver, right in front of Sarah. Shel glared as she remained tense, waiting for her chance. Arvo and Natasha glared at her, clearly eager to strike. Troy and another woman who Sarah overheard was called Tavia, were moving to try and get closer to Wyatt and Russell. Javi however had also moved closer to Sarah, just like Shel and so nobody dared move too close to the Jedi. Vince meanwhile managed to stay the hand of anyone too close to him, mainly as he was making far more overt threats with his detonator.

"Alright, they're here." Carver growled. "So...what are your terms, hmm? Going to offer me what I want, let's not forget why these fine ladies are captive?"

He smirked at that, raising an eyebrow at Shel. Sarah remained firm however.

"Payment." She said calmly. "We know about the debt Shel owes you, we have the means to pay it. We will pay and you will release them to us."

Arvo tried to intervene. "Hey, you can't do that, I was promised-!"

"Silence, bounty hunter!" Carver snapped before shaking his head. "We're past the payment stage now, you will hand over-"

"Payment or blowing up the thermal detonators, that's it, your only choices." Sarah interrupted firmly.

Carver tensed, eyes narrowing as he took this in.

Sarah let her gaze flick over to Becca and Kate, their humiliation was clear, but she did her best to send them a reassuring glance. Meanwhile she waited as Carver seemed to mull over the offer.

Shel however was growing impatient. "It's a simple choice now, make up your mind, release my sister."

Carver snorted. "You assume you have everything on your side. You think you can get the better of me, you forget who I am!"

"So, you're wanting us to blow this place up then?" Javi threatened.

Carver's smirk suddenly turned dark. "Do you think I'm a fool. I know the Jedi...I know your type, do you think I believe you'd really blow this place up. Such nonsense."

With that he called their bluff, slapping Sarah's hand and knocking the detonator out of it, it hit the ground, no dead man switch, nothing blew up.

"So…" Carver grinned triumphantly.

But Sarah's smile didn't waver, something which made the triumph vanish from Carver's face. Yet his men didn't realize yet what was going on, they were getting worked up, beginning to close in.

Sarah then gave the signal for their real plan to take effect. "Vince!"

With that she dropped her cloak as Vince hit the switch he was holding, not a detonator but something else, something they had actually done, hitting the switch caused the surge and plunged the entire base into darkness.

That was the opening the group needed, shouts and screams echoed and soon there was light, from Sarah's lightsaber igniting and striking and by the time the emergency lights came on Carver froze. Sarah stood before him, her lightsaber pointed straight at his throat. The bounty hunters were all dead, killed by Shel and Javi while Sarah cut down Vitali and Buricko and cut Becca and Kate free. They had free their mouths and despite still being stuck in their underwear, they had regrouped with their sister and brother-in-law respectively, having armed themselves. Troy and Tavia were injured and several others had been killed or injured while Molly and Luke had managed to sabotage the weapons lockers, preventing Carver's men from getting any other means of fighting back.

"I'm sorry it came to this." She said calmly to Carver. "You should have taken our offer."

"You will regret this bitch." Carver hissed. "You will not be able to hide. I will hunt you down, we'll all hunt you down, even if you get out of here you'll never be able to have a moments peace. We will destroy you, kill you all."

Shel growled. "You will not hurt me or my sister again."

"You've gone too far." Russell added. "If you honestly think we'll-"

But before he could finish of anyone else could say anything, the whole building was rocked as if something destructive have hit it.

Everybody looked around, startled and Carver tried to seize the advantage. He pulled his blaster but seeing this, Sarah took no chances and swiftly cut off his hand at the wrist. Carver screamed just as another blast hit the building and thanks to impacting right where one of the Thermal Detonators was located, caused a far too large explosion.

"We're under attack!" One of Carver's men shouted.

Sarah looked around quickly at the others, that was their signal to go, they couldn't take any chances. Taking advantage of the chaos that was being caused by the panic of Caver's men, trying to tend to the wounded, wondering what to do with the dead, or trying to help Carver, nobody even so much as looked twice at the group as they hurried to regroup and flee. More explosions rocked the building and just as they reached the door, Sarah heard it.

"Leave me!" Carver screamed. "Do your jobs you idiots. Get them, especially that Jedi!"

Grimacing Sarah shut off her lightsaber and followed the others outside. They soon found out the source of the explosions. A squadron of TIE bombers was making several passes over the building, bombarding it.

"Looks like the Imperials either finally found him, or finally got tired of Carver." Molly commented.

Luke shook his head. "Yeah, well, we better get out of here before we get caught up in it all."

Sarah nodded and they hurried as quickly as they could.

"Becca, c'mon." Shel cried desperately.

Becca grimaced. "I'm coming, just hold on, my...ow...my leg."

It was clear their escape had led to Becca hurting her leg somehow. Kate left Javi's side and caught with Becca.

"C'mon, I got you."

With that they were able to finally reach their ship and soon they were taking off. Shel and Molly ushered Becca and Kate into one of the other rooms to get dressed while everybody else strapped in and Vince got them up and soon they were leaving the planet behind. As they feared a Star Destroyer was present. Luckily if it had detected them yet, it hadn't got around to scrambling any fighters. Luckily, before they could even do so, Vince had locked onto their destination and they finally jumped to light speed, heading to reunite with the rest of the Invisibles.
