Chapter 47: Blitz
"Okay, we're ready." Tripp said at last.
After spending some time gathering what they needed and loading up the ships they were all gathered on the bridge again to receive instructions.
"We'll be departing for Lusnes soon, you all know what ships your on and the routes you'll be taking." Tripp explained. "Once there we'll plan our next move"
Kenny then stepped up. "We have to be careful, the Imperials are still after us after all and we've been in one place too long, we're vulnerable here."
Tripp nodded. "Which is why we're moving now. But everyone stay alert., the Empire surely knows we're here. So even as we're getting ready to leave, expect an attack at any time."
He gave some last instructions as well as ship assignments. As he did so Sarah reflected on the warnings they had received.
'So, it's really happening.' She thought warily. 'I just hope we can accomplish this, but, something feels wrong.'
Tense, she looked around at the others; their faces said it all, they were all anxious too. Swallowing she stood up and began to move off along with the others as they were making their way to their ships. Their hope was, if the Empire did come here, they'd find only an empty lucrehulk waiting for them.
As she made her way down the corridor she turned to AJ who walked alongside her.
"You gonna be alright AJ?" She asked.
AJ nodded. "Yeah, I'll be on one of the smaller ships with them."
He nodded towards a pair of Twi'lek males who Sarah was well familiar with.
"Good. I'll be in my starfighter, still we should pass each other before going into hyperspace." Sarah told him.
She was not only looking out for AJ due to his young age, but because, with how things were right now, they were the only Jedi left in the Invisibles. This put them both in a somewhat vulnerable position.
"We'll be ready for whatever comes, right?" Sarah inquired reassuringly.
AJ nodded. "Yeah, don't worry, I'll keep the Holocrons safe and together we'll make it through this. I'm sure Clem will come back. I know it."
Sarah bit her lip, amazed at how he turned things around. "I hope so too, AJ, she will."
AJ knew why she was so anxious and was doing his best to reassure her, despite the fact she was trying to do so in the first place. Going their separate ways Sarah did her best to prepare herself.
'I sincerely hope AJ is right, that Clem recovers from whatever is bothering her and comes back...I know she'll be able to find us even after we move.' She thought to herself. 'I just...I hope I can keep it together until then. I'm not sure if I can do this alone.'
With a heavy sigh she grabbed everything she needed, secured her helmet and got into her starfighter, ready to take off and begin the move to Lusnes and regroup the Invisibles.
The departure was going as planned and half the ships had already left, when suddenly they found themselves taking fire. AJ started as he saw the fire and then looked out the window.
'Imperials already, they were after us.' He thought worriedly. 'Oh no, gotta make sure…'
He yelped, stumbling when their own ship was hit. He knew right away he had to hurry, as he felt more hits and another look out the window, he saw, to his terror, that one of the ships had got up close, they were being boarded.
'Gotta go, gotta hide the Holocrons at least, before-' His thoughts were cut off as the ship rocked again.
Grimacing he hurried out of the room he had been in, trying to get to the room where he hid the Holocrons. He reached the room and rushed through the open door, only to freeze.
"Looking for these, little brat." The man scoffed.
He stood there, tall and thin with blading dark brown hair, green eyes and pale skin.
"Who...no…" AJ gasped.
He was holding the bag with the Holocrons. "Hello boy, name's Abel, of Vader's Fist and now we have what we're looking for."
AJ tensed, then tried to reach for his lightsaber. Suddenly something hard struck the back of AJ's head and he collapsed, out cold.
Sarah could only watch in terror as the Imperial ship finally let the ship AJ was on go and turn to leave, she felt it through the Force. AJ had been taken, he was on that Imperial ship and they had the Holocrons too. The Empire had all eight Holocrons and one of their Force Sensitives, the youngest. But it was too late for her to do anything, her ship blasted into light speed and she knew all she could do was go to their new base and tell the others the terrible news.
