Sup guys, Lighting Wolf here, back for another story. This one about Naruto. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto and a few others do.

There wasn't a lot that could rattle someone like Niko. He kept himself composed for the most part.

"Hmm…" Niko hummed to himself and continued down the road. He ran a hand through his auburn hair.

Niko longed for the days when there was more business. Being a mere merchant with some combat training? That wouldn't entirely cause someone to raise an eyebrow.

Many would call the merchant too stubborn to be friends with. That was something that annoyed him to no end. Being a merchant often meant people would haggle him on wares. He knew very well that people would also consider him stupid because he went along with it.

"You haggle with one person?" Niko questioned himself. "You get them to come back. I'd rather have customers then make oodles of cash." Niko added with amusement staining his voice.

He continued down the road, pausing only to ponder where he should go next. It interested him highly how things had gone.

Part of Niko wondered why none of the hidden villages had a war before now. There was resources, land, and culture just waiting to be claimed.

"Then again? The time Sound attacked Leaf failed horribly." Niko muttered to himself with a sigh.

Niko knew for a fact that the situation wasn't as cut and dry as people liked to claim it was.

"People think I'm stupid." Niko put in which caused the older man to chuckle with amusement.

If there was one thing that caused Niko no end of amusement? It was people constantly thinking he was some almost senile idiot who couldn't figure out how his own wares worked.

Another thing that amused Niko ? Hearing stories from around Fire Country and even beyond. It.

"Stories are better than all the money in the world." Niko stated, they were words that would anger most merchants.

Then again? Merchants barely made money and were eager to find something to pawn off on less experienced people. Niko prided himself on not lying. It was part of the reason why he never argued with his customers.

"Maybe I am stupid." Genki added with a smile and looked up at the sky which was beginning to darken. "But I'm not a jerk… Maybe that's why I have so many customers. They think less of me to where they come back… Either that? Or they got nothing better to do with their lives as is." Niko added and continued to strode down the path before him. He would pause only to look up at the peaceful night sky above.

"I can't believe some people would care so little about anything besides money." Niko added with a wry smile. "Then again? You can't do much without a bit of spending cash I guess." Niko added and shook his head.

He leaned on a tree, too exhausted to keep walking ahead. Niko supposed he could rest for a few minutes and little more than that.

He pulled down his hood over his eyes, blinking with exhaustion as his body started to slow down to sleep.

If he were anyone else? It would have been an amusing sight for a man who was starting to get up in age.

Then again? It would have been amusing for Niko if not for the fact that he couldn't see himself as that old. He hadn't the grey hair yet, but his body sure felt like it was about ready to say he was.

"Hmm…" Niko muttered to himself with a hum as he curled up into a ball.

He sighed and started to drift off into sleep, wondering what would come next when it came down to it.

Niko hummed and started to close his eyes. He couldn't fathom what would happen tomorrow, but it was sure as anything fun to imagine that when it came time for tomorrow.

He didn't know who'd he meet, maybe someone would try and attack him or something. It would be amusing to him to watch someone get trounced. Most people would consider him a very old man.

"I just like to think of myself as a wondering soul." Niko muttered the same words he said whenever asked why he was ever in a particular location.

Phew. First chapter done! I want to point out this story isn't exactly going to follow the show. Next chapter will end up being in 2-10 weeks and will show Niko meeting Tsunade and such. Until then, Lighting wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter is 900 words and such. Sakura is 900 words soon, Sadara 900 words soon. I might make a Hanabi story soon enough hopefully.
