Chapter 19: IS x Call of Duty
AN: It's late, but want to wish everyone Happy New Years. Back with a new story concept that has been in the works for a while.
Abstract - Back before it became overstuffed with overpriced nickel-and-diming DLC BS and lackluster story campaigns, Call of Duty used to be a good FPS game. I played Modern Warfare 1 to 3, World at War, Black Ops 1 and 2, Ghosts, and Advanced Warfare. The Modern Warfare series, World at War, and two Black Ops games were the best in the franchise while Advanced Warfare was average-good and unique with the exoskeleton gimmick, which quickly overstayed its welcome with Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare. Advanced Warfare was the last COD title I bought and played and I haven't bought any other COD game since then. Other COD games I played like Ghosts, Black Ops 3, Infinite Warfare, and WWII were bought by my younger brother who like every sucker who plays COD buys a new one every damn year. Black Ops 3 had the most "WTF is going on? I don't understand all this BS" confusing story plot I have ever seen in a game while Infinite Warfare is basically one big copyright violation of the Halo games with a cliche unoriginal story. I'm surprised that Activision wasn't sued by Microsoft or 343 Industries for Infinite Warfare. Even Zombies which used to be fun is now a convoluted mess requiring you to look up the Wiki to figure out how to do things to progress through the rounds. And lastly Black Ops 4 is basically Fortnite with COD skin and nothing more to it. I only wish that we get a COD game with an actual story campaign based on zombies. Put this story concept out since there are few IS x COD fanfics on FFN with focus on Ichika and IS cast. Feel free to adapt and write this story with your own modifications so long as the protagonist isn't OC.
Story Concept: - Legacy of Cordis Die
The crossover story follows IS canon with Ichika and Madoka being kidnapped by criminal gang hired by Phantom Task as a third party to force Chifuyu to forfeit the 2nd Mondo Grosso. The rescue attempt goes completely wrong with Ichika being heavily injured and Madoka seemingly dead from the resulting explosion in the aftermath of Chifuyu storming the place to rescue her twin siblings. While recovering from his injuries and undergoing rehabilitation, Ichika is visited by a mysterious individual who had paid for his medical expenses. The man introduces himself to Ichika by the name...Raul Menendez. Raul reveals to Ichika the true nature behind his and Madoka's kidnapping, more specifically who was responsible for the entire event. Raul tells Ichika that the US government was responsible for his kidnapping and Madoka's death. The criminal gang that kidnapped him and Madoka were a third party hired by a larger underground organization known as Phantom Task. What most people don't know about Phantom Task was that it was originally a black ops group was originally created by the CIA to help ensure the US maintained military advantage over the world in an era of Infinite Stratos. Although the group is claimed to have gone rogue and no longer under answers to the CIA or the US government, truth of the matter was that it didn't stopped to the US government and its various agencies from continuing to do business with Phantom Task. Phantom Task continues to receive financial, intelligence, and military-grade weapons support from supposed "rogue elements" within the US government despite the numerous criminal terrorist activities it has conducted and its theft of IS Cores quickly becoming a worldwide threat.
Of course, Raul Menendez knew it to be a partial lie (a lie by omission) - truth was while the US did have a secret collaborative relationship with Phantom Task, it is questionable as to whether the US was ultimately responsible for the Orimura twins' kidnapping with Phantom Task doing the deed on America's behest - and he made sure to help Ichika understand such dark truth hidden underneath the global politics of Infinite Stratos. There were even a string of potential prospective IS pilots - whether it be Representatives or Representative Cadets - who died under suspicious circumstances which Menendez stated clearly had the hallmark of Phantom Task involvement at the requests its supporters and backers from the US government. Ichika became enraged at the truth that was laid bare to him by Menendez. He knew that America went to great extent to maintain its military dominance over the world since the introduction of the Infinite Stratos, going as far to to force the Alaska Treaty on Japan without its consent at gunpoint. And now his twin sister was dead all because a paranoid and mad bully superpower nation wanted to maintained its ever weakening tight grip on the ever changing world in the era of Infinite Stratos. After Menendez relates his own story of his deceased sister and father at the hands of the US to Ichika, Ichika willingly joins Raul Menendez and his cause of Cordis Die to get revenge on the rogue superpower for his sister's death. Chifuyu would never suspect that Ichika would get caught up in the events of Black Ops 2 in the year 2025 until it was late.
They story follows the events of Black Ops 2 in the year 2025. Ichika's major participation in Cordis Die would come into play on Menendez's planned attack on the aircraft carrier, USS Obama. Ichika debuts the White Unicorn, a 3rd to 3.5 Gen IS unit developed by the Tacitus Corporation using an unregistered IS Core that Ichika had convinced Tabane to make and give to him, and a a miniature Celerium (a Quantum Entanglement Device) which can increased the White Unicorn's processing power to shift modes, equip and unequip weapons, accelerate at extreme high speeds, and near instant hacking-hijacking capability. Ichika and Sarashiki Kanzashi (also recruited into Cordis Die and pilot of a Cordis Die IS unit, Unicorn Banshee) disables the USS Obama and eliminates its onboard defense guns and fightercraft, leaving the aircraft carrier defenseless as Mercs parachuted in to help seize control of the ship. The White Unicorn and Uchigane Xi would battle the American IS units Fang Quake piloted by Iris Calling and the experimental autonomous drone-operated IS unit Silver Gospel. Despite her best efforts, Ichika and Kanzashi bought Menendez enough time to insert the Celerium worm into the US drone system, putting all of America's entire drone force under his control. The tide of battle turns against Iris as the Silver Gospel turned against her since its drone program was also affected by the Celerium worm. While Menendez took his leave, Ichika would stay behind using the White Unicorn to take control of the Chinese drones sent to defend the Obama, sealing the carrier's fate as it was destroyed by combined American and Chinese drones. Ichika then turned the drones against Iris who had her hands full with the Silver Gospel, forcing her to retreat in the face of overwhelming numbers.
Ichika and Kanzashi would the participate on the drone attacks on the G20 leaders in Los Angeles, battling many IS units and pilots who were present defending the leaders. The Silver Gospel proved so powerful that IS Representatives present had to join forces to bring it down. The two Cordis Die IS pilots would sink a US carrier fleet sent to assist American JSOC forces in Los Angeles. The two would shoot down multiple FA38s and would try to shoot down David Mason when he was in commandeered an FA38, but they would soon face the remaining G20's IS units after they had finally brought down the Silver Gospel. Weaken from the battle with the Silver Gospel, Ichika and Kanzashi defeats most of the G20 IS units and would have killed the pilots and seize their IS Cores for Cordis Die had Shirokishi not made a surprising appearance. Shirokishi badly injured Ichika and his White Unicorn IS that he was forced to retreat and seek medical treatment for his severe injuries. Kanzashi would use some of the hack drones to harass and distract Shirokishi while she evacuates Ichika from the battlefield. The retreat of Cordis Die's IS pilots turned the tide as the G20 leaders were secured safe and the US military eventually regained control of Los Angeles. Menendez would finally be killed by David Mason after a joint J-SOC/SDC assault his Haitian facility in BO2's final mission "Judgement Day".
Menendez's assassination video and his martyr video circulates around social media, prompting global protests and riots across the world against the US over Menendez's death. Upon recovering from his wounds, Ichika wishes to kill David Mason to avenge Menendez but Kanzashi talks him out of it as this was their one and only chance to truly liberate Japan from US influence and control (and in turn hurt Phantom Task) while the US itself is in chaos. Ichika led a Asian branch of Cordis Die to launch an assault on Okinawa to eliminate the US military base there, expel American presence from Japan once and for all, and killed suspected members of Phantom Task basing themselves there. Unfortunately, the US Okinawa base received reinforcements from ISA. Ichika had hacked the Okinawa's secret ICBM missile silos and had them launched at major target locations in the US when the ISA reinforcements arrive. While Ichika battled the ISA reinforcements using the base's hacked drones to back him up, Shirokishi appears once more and eliminated the missiles. The ISA reinforcements were wittered down to just Tatenashi and just as she was about to engage Ichika one-on-one, Shirokishi tackled the White Unicorn and flew themselves away from Okinawa. Ichika would battle the Shirokishi, but it was a futile battle as he was no match against the skills of Shirokishi's pilot and he eventually lost and fell in battle. Ichika had felt insulted seeing Shirokishi's pilot seeming to hesitate and then switching to disarming techniques after the White Unicorn's facemask was destroyed and reveal his face. Before Ichika lost consciousness, Shirokishi's facemask gave way and revealed Chifuyu's face, shocking Ichika that Chifuyu was the pilot of the Shirokishi all this time.
Meanwhile, Kanzashi has unsuccessful in her attempt to kill David Mason and Woods to avenge Menendez's death due to interference to Natasha Fairs and Iris Calling. This upsets her greatly as Menendez had been a friend, mentor, a father and big brother figure to both to her and Ichika. It was he who had convince her to fight for own sake and will, to determine how she would live her own life instead of being a mere pawn and puppet for her clan to control. She would not be a pawn or puppet stuck in her sister's shadow. She would be the one to decide her own destiny, not Tatenashi. Kanzashi was determined to make her own mark on the world and although Cordis Die had not won against the current corrupt world order this time around, she promises that next time that she would succeed in making Menendez's dream of a better and just world come true. For now, she would go back into hiding and bid her time as the remnants of Cordis Die would continue to be a menace and nuance to the US and the rest of the major world economic powers.
Under any normal circumstances, the punishment of any IS-related terrorists captured under the current international laws was left up to the discretion to the arresting nation to decide their fate; in Japan any captured IS terrorist pilot would have been put to death after interrogation procedures were finished. However, those laws were waived since Ichika was the only male IS user in existence and hence too important to be given the death penalty. For now, Ichika was given UN-issued general blank amnesty for past crimes committed during his time in Cordis Die and his only punishment is to be sentenced to 3 years at IS Academy as part of his "rehabilitation process". Ironically, America actually pushed for Ichika's pardon after Ichika used his trial as a platform in a last ditch effort (before his seemingly inevitable death) to expose to the watching global public of America's secret shadowy partnership with Phantom Task and its collaboration with the terrorist organization's efforts to steal IS Cores. Along with the revelation of Ichika and his twin sister's kidnapping and her subsequent death as told to him by Menendez threaten to ignite a second wave of anti-American riots across the world. America's standing on the global stage has rapidly deteriorated after Menendez and his followers attacked the country and its interests first with the events of Black Thursday (Black Ops mission with the USS Obama and Drone attack on the G20 summit meeting in LA) and then his social media followers rioting after his death. While America had to use brutal harsh violence to quell their domestic uprising, even going as far to to suspend the Constitution and deploying its military against its citizen protestors, its embassies and diplomatic missions and related staff and personnel were being attacked in every country, forcing the host nations to use military force in support of their police and domestic security agencies to stem the volcanic anti-American anger and sentiments for Menendez's death. Ichika's revelations of America's secret collaborative relationship with Phantom Task and the death of his sister at their hands threaten to start it all over again only this time the rest of the world would actually join in on attacking the US in some way, shape, or form as some nations had their IS Cores stolen by Phantom Task. America supporting the UN's move to issue a general blank amnesty to Ichika was a political move to win back some of the good will and global reputation it had largely lost and wounded following Menendez and Ichika's actions.
However, by this point America has fallen so far, its reputation so badly tarnished and damaged beyond repair, that it would lost much of its ability to influence and affect anything IS-related matters on the global stage. It is now called the "sick man of the West" (a similar allegory to the Ottoman Empire's destited state by the time WWI happened). Nobody believed America's claims to innocence from being involved in the Orimura siblings' kidnaping and seeming death of Madoka. Most global people wholeheartedly believe Ichika and his revelations even as some governments of the world are skeptical of his claims. For the sake of the peace and not further provoke the already outrage-prone common masses, the governments of the world went along with the narrative (possibly a lie by omission) that Menendez has crafted and convinced Ichika of its "truthfulness". Many nations that had their IS Cores stolen by Phantom Task were convinced that America did indeed had possession of their IS Cores and would start to retaliate, undercut, and sabotage the United States in anyway they can until they get their IS Cores back. America would continue to suffer all kinds of political economic, and military sanctions (e.g. removal of US bases or raising the rent price so high that it would makes it difficult for the US to base its forces there) from then onwards. NATO as a organization was on the verge of splintering apart; it only stayed intact when America voluntarily (through it was obviously a reluctant choice) left NATO to maintain the organization as a whole. With America's exit from NATO, it would become a more equal and cooperative military alliance between Canada and Western Europe. America's allies and partners in the Pacific including Australia, New Zealand, Korea, and Japan would split off from their military alliance, partnership, and cooperation with the US to form a new mutually cooperative military and economic alliance known as SPADE (the Special Partnership for Asian Defense and Economies) to counterbalance the Chinese-led Strategic Defense Coalition (SDC) and the US. Japan, as one of the founding nations of SPADE, and issues an eviction notice to the remaining US Pacific forces still stationed at Okinawa to leave, which America accepts and move its Pacific forces to its many island territories in the Pacific. America finally decides to focus its efforts in taking out Phantom Task to clear its name, honor, reputation, and prove its innocence that it was not responsible for Orimura Madoka's death. But it will be a huge and long herculean challenge, one that Phantom Task and its allies and collaborators are only gonna make harder now that America has few to no true friends and allies in the Post- Menendez IS world that sees America and Phantom Task as one and the same.
IS Academy's defenses were upgraded to discourage any attempt by Cordis Die or any other terrorist or criminal organization from attempting to kidnap Ichika. Ichika is given limited freedom in form of probation to leave IS Academy on weekends, holidays, and other agreed upon "special days" on the condition he be accompanied the Student Council president or a member of IS Academy teaching staff for the sake of strict monitoring to prevent Ichika from escaping back to Cordis Die or ending up in the hands of other international terrorist and criminal organizations. Communications information flowing into ISA or within ISA would become restricted as the UN didn't want ISA's student body to become radicalized while Ichika stays there for his three-year rehabilitation and finish his high school education. To prevent potential trouble to Ichika, ISA's governing board made the controversial decision to suspend and ban American IS students and staff from ISA for the duration of Ichika's tenure at ISA, which also applied to the America's IS Representative and Representative Candidate. America protested the unfairness of the decision, but the rest of the world to tell them to STFU in light of everything that has happened and America was unwilling to provoke a potential conflict in the Pacific with both SPADE and SDC. Ichika got back his IS alright...only to find that it had been incredibly dumbed down after Tabane got her hands on it and repaired it to be suitable for his tenure in ISA. Ichika is angered over the fact that Byakushiki is a downgraded version of the infamous White Unicorn that has been essentially neutered, humiliated, and deliberately crippled weak, a far cry from its once powerful original form. As for Kanzashi, the wheels of her machinations are rolling as her many plans and schemes are running simultaneously in motion to shape the IS world as she sees fit. With both her and Ichika in one place, her plans of another revolution are all beginning to proceed according to plan.
AN: And that is all I got for this story concept so far. The groundwork and foundation has been laid for a turbillant Call of Duty based themed IS timeline and story. Now it's up to you prospective authors to write and continue upon this concept. Feel free to adaptive this story and make it your own adding in your touches to it. Just remember, no protagonist author Self-Insert Mary Sue/Gary Stu OCs please.
