Chapter 50: Brought Back Together

Emerging from hyperspace to see Lusnes before them, it was similar to Valunt at least from space.

"That's us." Violet said. "We need to land...this could be tricky, it's an Imperial ship we're in after all...and I doubt everyone will be as welcoming as you guys."

Clementine smiled lightly. "It'll be alright Violet, I'm here to vouch for you."

"Yeah." AJ interjected. "Me too."

They allowed themselves some relief at that and then, knowing it would give them an advantage, Clementine reached out with the Force, inadvertently, due to AJ sitting on her lap, allowing him to do so too. She soon felt the familiar presence of Sarah's mind and did her utmost to ensure Sarah knew it was her she was feeling. There was a surge from Sarah, shock, hope, relief and Clementine gently pulled back, knowing that Sarah would handle the rest.

"We should be alright to land, after that however...well." Clementine explained.

Violet nodded and made her way down to the planet, soon she was flying over the surface, almost at once it was clear Lusnes, while similar, was different from Valunt, it seemed duller, not quite so sunny. They soon spotted an opening in the ground, leading to an underground hanger, the lights flashed.

"They want us to land there." Clem realized. "Take us down."

Violet did so and soon they had landed, taking note of the key surviving members of the Invisibles all waiting for them. This was it.

Doing their best to control the feelings of nervousness, all three occupants of the ship disembarked, much to the shock of those present even as they all stood before them. Both Violet and Clementine clearly had new lightsabers visible, showing significant change had occurred, but still the tensions heightened. Until Sarah hurried forwards.

"Clem, you're back!" She cried. "You're…"

Clementine nodded. "Yes...I'm sorry I worried you all, but I'm fine now, I've managed to...to overcome what nearly ruined me before."

"That's good to hear...and AJ...you were captured we-" Sarah continued.

AJ smiled. "Clem and Violet saved me."

"Hold on, what?" Tripp interrupted as more muttering erupted from the others.

"It's true. Violet is no longer one of Vader's Fist, or consumed by the Dark Side." Clementine explained.

Tripp snorted. "Oh really, and we're supposed to believe that."

"Precisely." Kenny added. "Sounds to me more like she-"

Clementine narrowed her eyes dangerously. "You sure you want to finish that sentence!"

Clementine's suddenly snap startled everyone present.

"Clementine...you…" Eleanor gasped.

Clementine shook her head and spoke firmly. "If it wasn't for Violet I wouldn't even be here. I would still be back where I hid myself, wallowing in my pathetic self-pity. You wouldn't have got me back...all it took was having faith and showing Violet the truth."

"That doesn't mean she's one of us." Kenny growled.

But before anyone else could say anything, Violet smiled lightly, stepping forward and took Clem's hand, Clem squeezed said hand, both looking at each other, their obvious love coming through.

Everybody could only stare, but Clem did notice the delighted smiles of the Ericsons crew as they saw them. She could also swear she saw Louis collecting on a bet from the others. Sarah meanwhile rounded on the others.

"So, that's it. You're just gonna turn your back on us."

Tripp narrowed his eyes. "Sarah, what nonsense is this, we're not-"

"You've turned against Clem, despite all the claims you need her." AJ interrupted.

"We're not-"

"You are." Clem replied darkly. "For if you can't accept Violet, you can't accept me, we're together and if Violet isn't welcome here, then neither am I."

Kenny looked thunderous. "You honestly think it all revolves around you! We are working to restore the republic, to revive the Jedi and you-!"

"Enough, it's obvious that's not what you want." Clem said calmly.

That stunned everyone into silence long enough for Clem to continue.

"After all, if you really wanted to do that, you'd be willing to listen and consider your options. Not just shut things down because you don't like them." She turned away. "Well, it's fine, I see the Invisibles have changed their mission and are no longer a worthwhile group. Let's go Violet, Sarah...AJ."

As shocked as her words were, the fact that all three remaining Force Users agreed with her and looked about ready to leave was even more so.

Not even Kenny could remain angry seeing this.

"You...you would desert us, in our time of need?"

Clementine shook her head. "No, you're deserting us so we're leaving...it's clear from your attitudes you don't need us."

"But the Holocrons…" Tripp choked out.

"You can handle it surely, after all...if the fact Violet has returned to the light and is willing to help you isn't good enough, then you had no business rescuing me in the first place and I don't intend to let Sarah and AJ stay here and be corrupted by those beliefs. That Jedi helping others should be conditional." Clementine countered.

That was when it started and the rumbling of voices caused further problems for the Invisibles. For now the Ericsons crew and even the Smugglers were vocalizing their intentions to leave too.

"But, the Empire-" Eleanor tried to reason with them.

"Their reach is not infinite. We'll just go beyond their reach." Violet explained calmly.

It was clear they were not budging and it was equally clear exactly what was going on. This was no selfish decision to spite them, this was a strategy to back the Invisibles leadership into a corner. Especially since the reasons Clementine had given were true. If they did push Violet away, it would just prove that they weren't seeking what they claimed to be seeking. They had every reason to be suspicious and Clementine knew that, but their decision to not even give Violet a chance was taking that too far.

Finally, after discussing with the others and seemingly reaching a decision which satisfied them all, Tripp turned back to Clementine and Violet.

"Alright, alright, everyone just calm down."

It was then David Garcia stepped forwards. "You accepted me, despite my past, why not Violet, I daresay I did worse than her."

"Exactly, now as I was trying to say." Tripp insisted. "Clementine...Violet was the one who got you to come back to yourself, after returning to the Light? She helped you rescue AJ and the two of you saw the Holocrons get taken away...do you know where they are?"

Clementine nodded to each of those queries except the last one, to which Violet nodded in confirmation.

Tripp sighed. "Alright then, you're welcome aboard The Invisibles...but for the sake of our people, Clementine...she is your responsibility, understand."

Clementine smiled and shrugged. "Fine with me."

With that Violet was reluctantly welcomed into the Invisibles.
