Yeah, so last time things are really heating up with Kraven entering the scene and hunting Spider-Man. I probably should've mentioned this in the prologue, but that entire prologue is my own idea, I don't think any YouTuber that makes their own college trilogy thought of it like that. I figured it was an interesting way to get Kraven into the story all because of the lie that he "murdered" Mysterio. For the record, I know the spell Dr. Strange was make people forget Peter is Spider-Man, but I'm not so sure he made everyone that he murdered Mysterio, so that's a plot thread I think worth exploring in the future of MCU Spider-Man.
Also, before anyone asks, yes Peter will confront William Riva, only because I felt in NWH Peter should've confronted that guy for basically ruining his entire life in the first place, so expect confrontation with those two in the future of this story.
Act I (Part 1)
NYC, home of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man... well maybe friendly to some people. In a nearby apartment on a thunderstorm, Peter is asleep in his bed. He is shaking violently. The dream or rather nightmare he's having is about what Green Goblin said to him repeatedly.
'She was there because of you...' Goblin's voice echoed in the nightmare as Peter shakes violently in his bed. Flashes of Osborn's face laughing, of him stabbing Peter-2 in the back, of him throwing the pumpkin bomb at May.
Peter woke up screaming and then took heavy breaths to calm himself down. He was sweating profusely and jerked his head to look at his clock: 3:00 am.
He cussed under his breath and started to relax and then laid down on his bed trying to go back to sleep. He stared outside at the rain and said to himself, "That's the second time that nightmare happened, Parker." He only wished that nightmare would stop.
Next day came as Peter was about to exit his apartment, his landlord approached him about his rent. "You're late on your rent, Parker."
Peter looked at him confused, "I just paid you, yesterday."
The landlord showed him what he had to pay and Peter realized he paid last month's rent. "Oh, sorry, I'll pay that right now." Peter took out his wallet and paid his landlord immediately.
The landlord smiled and went on his way. Peter thought to himself to make a mental note to pay his pay his rent on time, but he's been getting rough on money.
He muttered to himself, "Gotta head to the bank to get some extra money for the next rent due. But I'll do that way later." He was now 18 and has opened a bank account, although he didn't like how much he was getting paid by a certain someone.
He took an elevator and headed towards a nearby alleyway. As he approached the other side, he started to see him, his old best friend Ned Leeds.
Ned walked into the coffee shop himself, MJ, his best friend go to. Well, now just Ned and MJ. He had been keeping on eye on them making sure they're safe. Safe away from him.
He turned away from the coffee shop and headed back to when he came in another direction. Peter approaches the local bus in his area and as it goes to his workplace. Well, he was about to enter the bus and then left as his Spider-Sense kicked in. He doesn't know where the danger is and he kept looking around and then it stopped.
He muttered to himself, "That was weird." His Spider-Sense never did that before, be alert and yet the danger was nowhere to be present.
Sometime the bus stopped and Peter got off and headed to the place he always worked at to get money, The Daily Bugle. Of course, run by the one and only J. Jonah Jameson.
He entered the Bugle and stopped by to see Betty Brant.
"Oh, you're the new guy. Parler, isn't it?" She said happily as Peter corrected her "No, it's Parker. Peter Parker."
"Oh ok. Wait, you're also the guy that takes those photos of Spider-Man right?" She asked.
He nodded in agreement. "Those shots of yours are crazy!" She exclaimed. "How do you take them so high up?"
"Uh, well-" Peter was interrupted by Jameson approaching him for newer pictures of Spider-Man. He gave them to Jameson as he proceeded to call them crap as usual.
Both Betty and Peter rolled their eyes. Peter's spider-sense started to go off again, again no danger present. He was starting to get annoyed as Jameson looked at him weirdly as he tried to give him freelance money.
Peter felt awkward about that and took the money. Jameson laughed "You know despite the photos being crap, they bring extra views to our site. I'm thinking of actually printing these to make this place an actual newspaper." He walked away as his crew started to talk to him.
"So, Pete.. um... are you doing anything this Friday?" Betty asked him. Peter knew where this was going.
"Let me guess if you're going to invite me to a party, I decline." Peter affirmed.
Betty looked at him confused, "How did you know I was gonna invite you to party?"
"I've been invited before to tons of parties." Peter stated.
"Really which ones?" Betty asked
Peter shrugged and just said "Uh... at my high school."
"Oh which high school did you go to?" Betty asked, but Peter tried to get away from this conversation and said "You know what... Betty right? I really gotta go... you know.. take some pictures of Spider-Man."
He left awkwardly and in a rush that left Betty confused about him. "He's very weird," she said to herself and went to back to work.
Kraven walked around in the streets of NYC. Hidden amongst a huge crowd undetected for now. He was now on the hunt for Spider-Man.
He started asking around in bars, usually ending with people being thrown out the the glass window. Eventually, he'd get answers although it was unusual for him. He'd gotten split opinions of the spider murderer as he liked to call him. Majority either hate him for killing Mysterio, while others who support him call Spider-Man, a hero.
Although, Spider-Man had the charges dropped the bald man known as William that hired him wanted the job done. That job being to eliminate Spider-Man. And he alone knew how to do that.
He was walking towards an abandoned train station as he entered it through it, it goes dark and a growl could heard form afar. Kraven smiled and said, "Tonight, the Spider will be destroyed."
Peter entered back to his apartment and laid down on his bed with his clothes, not even bothered to change into Pajamas. He started to develop of talking to himself as he was pretty much in solitude.
"I got to make things right. Make my friends never ever invite me to anything. It's a choice I have to live with forever. I'll die alone and everything will be fine for them." He looked at his clock: 5:00 pm.
It was that time to visit them. Exiting through his window in his Spider-Man costume, he quickly swung across the streets of NYC and landed near a graveyard. He walked and walked until no one was around.
He saw the gravestone engraved with the name "May Parker".
"Hey, May," he started. "I've been doing good today. I went to work and expect my GED scores to come and I know I aced it."
"I'm gonna go to college soon, just not MIT. Well, maybe MIT, I don't know, but I want you to know that I'm still making that choice of letting everyone forget about me as Peter Parker. Though, I'm not doing well as Spider-Man as well. People still think I murdered Mysterio even though the charges were dropped. I also still have nightmares about... him. I keep reliving the words that he said... that I was the one who killed you." He paused before he could start tearing up, he had to hold it in.
"But I also hold the words what you and Uncle Ben said, 'With great power, there must also come great responsibility.' I've been holding those words so much. I also know I probably said this thousands of times, but I still wish I could meet Peter-2 and Peter-3 again. I always wonder what they're doing now. How their lives have been since Doctor Strange cast the spell and returned them home." He paused again, taking in a deep breath.
"Anyway, that's all I have for you, May." Peter left the grave and then swung back to the city to deal with whatever is going to face him.
In a matter of minutes, he stopped a mugging of a college kid by two big guys, Spider-Man leaped down and webbed them up to a nearby pole.
The kid screamed a huge "Thank you!" and Spidey gave him a thumbs-up back.
It was getting dark, and he saw the police were heading somewhere, he didn't know what it was, but he went out to investigate. Spider-Man waited for the police to leave the scene which took about two hours and then he did his own investigating.
He entered an old rusty building that hadn't been rebuilt or restructured and so on. "What the hell happened here?" Peter noticed there were lots of dead bodies, mainly the police tapes of the bodies where they were found, however, what made it weird was how many there were. Over 12 bodies, some even overlapping each other.
"I overheard the police mention this being the work of an animal, but jeez... I don't even know where to begin with this one." His spider-sense started to tingle as he heard someone speak.
"Exactly my point." A voice was heard in the background and a man entered the room. "Nice to finally meet you, Spider-Man."
"And you are?" The web-crawler asked in a serious tone.
"I am Kraven the Hunter." Kraven introduced himself, "and you are my prey tonight."
"Very weird thing to say..." Spider-Man pointed as he got into his typical pose.
Kraven started to speak even more, "The bodies that the police found were caused by my creature. It killed them to attract your attention. For me."
Spider-Man just stared at him before throwing a kick at Kraven in the chest. Kraven got pushed back for a bit but managed to maintain his balance. Spider-Man threw another kick and then a punch, but Kraven caught the punch and proceeded to give the web-head a few punches to the face.
Spider-Man caught a punch from Kraven and then webbed him in the chest to throw him outside the building. Kraven fell onto the street. There was no one around as it was getting dark.
The web-slinger shot his web onto a building and started to get away as Kraven got up quickly matching his speed quickly. "That's impressive," he said to himself as he kept swinging. Kraven managed to get onto the top of a building and chased the wall-crawler. He started to shoot a few arrows. Spider-man as usual dodged them with ease.
"Such worthy prey," Kraven said praising his foe. Peter just rolled his eyes underneath his mask, and soon investigate what creature this guy sent to kill those people back at the building.
"Were those men worthy prey to you as well?" Spider-man asked with a hint of anger in his voice.
"Those men were killed by my creature for the hunt. They were the scum of the Earth, so I got rid of them. In order to attract you... murderer of Mysterio..." Kraven said those words that stung Peter.
"What'd you just say?" He started to speculate really fast in his mind. "Did someone hire you?" He asked increasing his anger.
"Yes, although I doubt the man who hired me actually thinks you killed Mysterio. He never provided any evidence... however, I long for the hunt. No beast can escape my grasp." Kraven stated firmly as he shot another arrow and again Spidey dodged it with ease. He webbed his hands, threw in a few kicks, and a final punch.
Kraven started to get angry, he threw a kick at Spider-Man's face, jumped over him giving a leg sweep, knocking his prey down, managed to get the webs off his hands, and took out a knife. Spider-Man got up quick and webbed the knife and took it away from Kraven.
Kraven and Spider-Man started to fight hand-to-hand more. As Peter jumped up quickly and threw a punch at where Kraven was, only for Kraven to evade him.
"Jeez, you're good." He complimented Kraven before getting a few roundhouse kicks to the chest, only for Peter to grab him by his legs and then started to carry the hunter like he's a wrestler and threw him across the rooftop, he landed one last punch knocking him out.
A few hours later Kraven finds himself webbed and hanging from a streetlight. "No, this cannot be..." Kraven started to get angry and was now given a new challenge: the Spider.
Peter entered his apartment through the window and started to lay down on his bed. He was really tired from being Spider-Man. Taking off his mask and throwing it on the floor and he started to fall asleep naturally.
The nightmare started again.
"She was there because of you." Osborn's words echoed through the nightmare.
"I may have struck the blow... but you are the one that killed her."
"Strong enough to have it all! Too weak to take it!"
Peter started shaking in his sleep before waking up violently screaming. He took heavy breaths and looked at his clock, still, 3:00 am like last time.
I'll end it off there, let me know what you think of the story so far.
