Chapter 52: Blossoming Love
Violet smiled softly as she lay back on the bed. Clem lay by her side, they were in the room set aside for Clem, enjoying likely their last moment of down time before they had to attend the briefing for their upcoming battle.
"Clem, I...I just wish I hadn't made the mistakes I did...who knows. Maybe we might have had more time." She said softly.
Pulling Violet closer, delicately kissing the top of the blonde's head, Clementine did her best to calm and comfort her.
"I know Vi, I know." She replied. "It's hard on me too. I just...I should have been more honest with you. Truthfully, I can't help but look back over everything that occurred and wonder...wonder what I could have done different."
"Maybe...but then, maybe so many things would have happened differently...maybe we wouldn't have got together at all." Violet remarked softly.
Clementine laughed at that. "Good point...I might've, I might have just been too scared and said nothing at all."
"For it to have taken all this however." Violet reflected. "Now we've got to try and just...survive what's to come next...this won't be like any battle you've fought before, I'm sure of that. It's certainly not gonna be like any I've fought."
"We'll face it, together, okay." Clementine said firmly.
Violet nodded and they kissed, allowing themselves to be lost in the moment, knowing that before long, they would be called to action, so they needed to make the most of this while they could.
They weren't the only ones who had taken the down time to try and ensure their love for each other was given some real attention. With a breathy sigh Ruby smiled as Aasim rolled off her, onto his back, pulling the blankets tightly around them, so as to cover their naked bodies.
"Aasim, that...that was…" She gasped, still overcome with euphoria.
He let out a low chuckle and she grinned as she felt his hand sliding along her skin again, coming to stop, teasingly close to her breast.
"I wish this moment would last forever." She admitted quietly.
He moved closer, kissing her neck as he whispered. "So do I. But there's nothing we can do but make the most of this."
"I agree." Ruby replied. "We've all been so much, some more than others...I honestly don't know how they do it…"
Aasim nodded. "Seems those who are attuned to the Force are fated to lead much more difficult lives than others...some like Clem and Violet...I don't know how they're still keeping their sanity after, after everything."
"Tell me about it." Ruby said. "But c'mon. We're getting so serious when we have a limited amount of time to just...be us together, before this battle. We shouldn't waste a second."
Aasim smirked as he moved closer. "You're right, we shouldn't."
"Again, so soon?" Ruby laughed.
With that he moved on top of her once more and their lips met as they once more began their rather vigorous activities.
An hour later, Clementine, Violet, Ruby and Aasim all met up with the rest of the Ericsons crew.
"Hey, you guys ready?" Brody asked them.
They nodded, Aasim and Ruby shared a glance, but it seemed nobody was any the wiser as to what they had really been up to.
"Alright, let's go and do this." Clementine said. "We've gotta head for the meeting room, time to prepare for this battle. It may well be our last, so let's make sure we give it all we've got."
They all agreed and together they made their way through the base, heading for the meeting room, ready to face whatever may come their way.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
