Chapter 53: The Final Plan
Entering the meeting room together, the whole group took their place around the large central display, joining the other members of the Invisibles as they prepared for the final battle, this was their time to plan and be sure they covered everything. Standing in the middle of the room was Tripp, Kenny and Eleanor, the three leaders of the Invisibles, all of them visible tense as they knew the stakes were higher than ever before. Tripp looked carefully at Clementine who nodded, they had discussed a few details before hand and got agreements from those involved, so they knew what was about to be revealed.
"Alright, now that we're all here, it's time." Tripp said. "The image you see before you is the planet, Feoshen."
As he said this he pressed a button, activating the monitor to show an image of the planet.
"Thanks to reliable information we have received we know it is a corrupted world." Eleanor continued. "Based on all the information we have gathered and the knowledge we already have of our enemies, we know they'll be at the planet and ready to utilize the super-weapon that is located there."
That drew murmuring from everyone present in the room, many worried, others sounding angry.
Tripp calmed them quickly. "We can still stop them before they can activate this weapon."
That finally brought their attention and they once more paid attention.
This time it was Kenny who spoke up.
"We will make our way there in our fleet and be ready for battle the moment we arrive. We know Vader's Fist are all waiting in their ships, ready to intercept us...they'll know we're coming." He explained.
Eleanor then continued. "We received word that they've received a new unit of special troops to aid them here, so we need to be ready for them especially. Nevertheless we also need to recall that their fleet isn't their only line of defence."
Kenny used the monitor to show the surface of the planet. "As you can see, there are some old ruins, there will be imperials stationed there that are protecting the underground base where the weapon is hidden."
"So, our plan will once again require us to break down into teams. A crack team to go down to the surface and stop the weapon, while the rest of us use our ships to keep their fleet at bay." Tripp explained. "Now, it stands to reason that Lily will be commanding their ships while Minerva will be in charge of the ground forces."
The others all murmured their agreement and focused, ready to hear what their plan was to be. It was going to be their only chance after all, since it was all coming down to this, the final battle.
With everybody's full attention, Tripp spoke firmly.
"We are going to leave here right away, we can't afford any delays." He told them. "We will take all of course ships and head to Feoshen. Once we arrive we'll have to jump right into battle, we will fight them off until we can get some breathing space. After that, our crack team...which will of course include most of our Jedi."
"Most?" Violet queried.
"AJ will not be with us." Clementine explained. "He'll be on the Eclipse with Javi and Kate. You understand what you're to do, AJ?"
"Battle Meditation, right?" He replied. "Just as you taught me."
Clementine nodded and the others shared curious looks. But Tripp drew their attention again.
"Alright, so, with that in mind, they will head down to the surface of the planet on shuttles and they will lure our the Imperials stationed in the ruins, allowing Clementine, Violet and Sarah to slip in and head down to defeat Minerva and take down the weapon." He paused and then added. "I hope I don't need to emphasis to you three how important it is that we succeed here…"
Kenny sighed and then added. "I'll be perfectly honest here. I don't believe it's possible. But if there is even the smallest chance that you can bring this Minerva girl out of her darkness like what happened with you Violet, then good luck."
"We'll see what happens during the battle." Was all Violet said in response.
"Well then, I think we've all made our point. Once you've reclaimed the Holocrons and stopped the weapon, regardless of how things go with Minerva...fall back and regroup with the others and return to the shuttles. We don't need to stay there any longer than necessary." Tripp finished.
Eleanor nodded. "Alright, everybody knows what to do, lets head for our ships, and may the Force be with us all."
With that they all began leaving the briefing room, heading for their ships, ready for the final battle.
