Chapter 54: Battle of Feoshen Part 1
The tension mounted as they came out of light speed, arriving with Feoshen in sight. The entire Invisibles fleet had arrived and was now advancing, ready to put their plan into action. Below them, they could see Feoshen, a planet so steeped in the Dark Side that even from space it seemed to emit a blood red glow.
"Here we are, we're about to begin, there they are waiting for us." Tripp announced. "Thought we were gonna be facing more than just Vader's Fist though."
From her own ship, Eleanor replied. "Vader's Fist is still enough for us to be in trouble, we have to do this right."
"Alright, let's begin phase one." Kenny remarked. "Get in close and be ready for battle, we've got to draw all their fire until it's safe for the shuttles to make their landing."
With that the fleet moved closer to the fleet of Vader's Fist, waiting for them in stationary orbit above the planet, the Impulse as ominous as ever at the head of the fleet. As soon as they had everything drawing fire to their ships, the shuttles would be able to make a landing on the planet, then the teams led by Clementine, Violet, Sarah, the smugglers and the Ericsons crew would be able to disembark and launch their attack on the main base, while Clementine, Violet and Sarah would work their way inside and to the control room of the Sith Super weapon, stop it and reclaim the Holocrons.
On the bridge of the Impulse, Lily smirked as she stood at the helm, ready to finally bring an end to this issue of the Invisibles once and for all.
'These fools have had their own way for far too long. I will finally avenge my humiliations.' She thought bitterly. 'I will destroy them all, no matter what.'
As she watched the Invisibles, their fleet drawing closer, she smirked. They were going to engage them directly, the height of foolishness she knew.
"Commander...They're on their way, they'll be in range soon."
Lily nodded. "Excellent, we'll soon crush these miserable insects under our heels. Ready the fighters and have our capital ships ready to destroy their so called stronger ships."
"Yes commander."
She smirked, this was it, it was time for them to begin. Soon the Invisibles would be no more and even with their so called ultimate weapon, her actions would easily allow her to outshine both Minerva and Vader. She would be the true hero of this battle and get the recognition she deserved.
'In just a few short moments I will prove myself the greatest in the entire Empire and all that nonsense will be cut away and I will finally take my rightful place as one of the Empire's top staff'
She readied herself to give the order, ready to begin the battle and stake her claim to history.
The ships were set, ready as they drew close to each other. However the Invisibles had one advantage and they pressed it at once. Contrary to the cautious and tentative approach that Vader's Fist were expecting. The moment they were in range, they opened fire from their larger ships. This opening gave their fighters time to emerge and begin their approach. In a remarkable change of pace, Tripp was in his own fighter, leading the charge.
"Everybody ready, we're going to sweep in, split up and attack from a number of directions, make passes and go in and out." He remarked.
Kenny grunted. "You heard the man, we're drawing fire and if you see any of their fighters, take them down. The fewer enemies we have to deal with the longer we'll last."
Tripp then gave his order. "Let's begin, lock S-Foils in attack position."
With that their ships were ready and soon their attack runs began. Meanwhile, on their flagship, Eleanor continued to direct operations and continue to focus their fire against the enemy ships. Meanwhile, in another part of the ship, AJ sat, eyes closed, focusing, letting his will push through the Force and strengthen his allies, utilizing his incredible talent in Battle Meditation to allow them to be at even beyond peak condition for the battle.
Taken aback by this sudden attack, Lily almost laughed.
"Well, they've actually become bold, there's a surprise." She quipped. "Scramble the fighters, get out there and put a stop to them."
Her orders were relayed but as this was happening one of the bridge crew noticed.
"Commander, their fighters are attacking our ship." He called out.
Sure enough several fighters flew past, landing strafing fire on the Impulse.
Lily was unimpressed. "So what, our shields are more than capable, now focus on the task at hand."
She may have been impressed by their audacity, but it was still infuriating too. Still, she felt it, it wouldn't be long now and she would have her glory. Meanwhile, with everything ready, Clementine nodded to Sarah and Violet. The others were ready too, both shuttles were loaded up and ready to disembark.
"This is it, once we land we'll be ready." She remarked.
Sarah nodded. "Yeah, AJ's doing his part; we're staying strong. Let's do our part and stop this madness."
"I agree." Violet said. "Let's do it."
They got the signal and knew the battle was drawing fire, it was time. The shuttles disembarked and began to make their move, driven down towards the planet. The first stage of the plan had gone off well enough, now it was time for the second part of the plan.
