Chapter 56: Battle of Feoshen Part 3

Overtaken with horror at the rapid onset of several sudden deaths, people he knew, cared about and now he had felt their deaths so sharply and suddenly. AJ knew that without his Battle Meditation, things would be worse for his friends now. But he couldn't bring himself to return to the task. Tears streamed down his face as he huddled against the wall.

'They...they all...they're gone, I...I…' His mind raced, sadness filling him. 'I failed them all...I was supposed to give them the strength to overcome their enemies in this battle. But I didn't, I couldn't…'

Up on the bridge, Eleanor was trying to calm things down and restore order. As the sole remaining leader of the Invisibles, it fell to her now.

"Everyone, remain on mission. We have to do this...we knew what we were getting into when we came here." She issued her orders. "Please, for the sake of everyone who gave their lives...stand fast and show your strength, now more than ever."

There were a few concerns that still remained, but as Vader's Fist continued their attack, they recovered their equilibrium and resumed giving battle. But they weren't as strong or focused as before and Eleanor knew why. She gave instructions and then hurried from the bridge to the room where AJ was huddled against the wall, crying.

"AJ…" She began softly, moving to his side.

He looked up at her, deeply shaken and distraught at what had just happened.

For Lily, the result was not what she expected. She grinned as she saw the ships explode, knew she had crippled the Invisibles. It was clearly their leaders who had been in those ships. But instead of breaking and either fleeing or giving up, after a moment of confusion and fear, they were regrouping and resuming the battle.

"What is...this is impossible. These people-" She snapped before shaking herself. "So be it, if that's how they want it, kill them all, destroy every last one of them."

The battle resumed in earnest, the fighters going back and forth, the capital ships once more focusing on each other. Meanwhile, down on the surface, the battle continued too, despite Abel's efforts to launch a blitz attack, they were forced to fall back as their opponents fought back much harder than Abel thought they would.

"They have no idea who they are messing with, so be it...Get the Z-6 rotary blaster cannon here...we're going to destroy these fools." He ordered.

As one of his men went to do so, Abel flinched from a shot that hit the wall, right next to his head. Infuriated he fire several shots and smirked at the screams of horror from the others as Luke was shot down with several hits and killed. Abel knew it wouldn't be long now, soon the fools facing them would realize their mistake and finally give up, or be destroyed.

Meanwhile, hurrying through the ruins, heading for the pathway that would lead them underground to where the weapon was stored, Clem, Sarah and Violet had their lightsabers out, but not ignited yet. They stayed alert, trying to keep themselves focused. But the pain they felt was impossible to avoid.

"I can't believe it, dead...gone...do we, do we know exactly who…?" Violet asked quietly.

Sarah swallowed. "Yes...I felt it too...Kenny, Sarita, Walter, Reggie and Trip, they were the ones we felt strongly. Due to our connections to them already."

Clementine sighed. "I just...don't understand how it could have gone so bad so quickly…"

"I do." Violet replied grimly. "Lily is clearly going crazy, she's always had a driving obsession to prove herself superior. She likely took extreme action…"

They all shared a worried look at that, before feeling that pain again, someone else had died. Worried they pressed on, until they found the path and saw it was blocked. Blocked by a group of black and red armour clad Stormtroopers, all armed with deadly looking melee weapons, clearly waiting for them.

"Jedi scum!" They cried at once, readying themselves.

Violet hissed. "Purge Troopers."

Sarah swallowed and ignited her lightsaber. "Clem, Violet, you've got to stop the weapon...I'll deal with this."

"Sarah, you-" Clem gasped.

"Go!"

With that she lunged forwards and began battle, ducking and dodging around the Purge Troopers weapons while trying to strike back with her own. Despite their concerns, Clementine and Violet knew she was right, as such they slipped past and hurried down the path, heading to where the weapon lay.

Eleanor bit her lip and gently reached out to touch AJ's shoulder.

"AJ, please...we need you." She said quietly.

"I...I can't, they...I felt it, when they died, so much…" He choked out.

Eleanor gently did her best to wipe away his tears and explained. "I know, we're all feeling this. But we need to stay strong. We can't let them all die in vain...but without you, we can't do this. Please, for everyone, we can do all this together, lend us your strength, you are stronger than you know…"

"I...I…" AJ hesitated. "You're right but-"

He wiped his eyes and nodded.

"You're right...I can do this, I have to...Everyone is counting on me, on us...all of us."

Standing up he nodded to Eleanor who hurried back to the bridge while AJ took his place in the room again and began to focus on his Battle Meditation. With it resumed the Invisibles began to become empowered again. Unaware of this, Lily gave her orders.

"We'll just have to break them more. That ship there…" She directed attention to it. "Use our Ion cannons, destroy it."

The shot fired true and Javi and Kate in the Eclipse, could only watch in horror as the ship blew up.

"No!" Kate cried in horror.

Javi could only watch in disbelief. "David…"

The ship had been David Garcia's and Lily couldn't be happier at destroying one of the traitors. Now she just needed to eliminate his son. But before anything like that could happen she noticed that the Invisibles were fighting stronger again and then, shocking everyone, more ships appeared. The first thing they did was open fire on Vader's Fist, destroying several fighters and one Capital Ship.

Then came the announcement. "Invisibles, my name is Saw Gerrera. My Partisans and I are here to help."

Reinforcements had arrived.

Meanwhile, down in the depths of the planet, the weapon was all set up, all eight Holocrons set in their recesses as it powered up, seeing this Clem and Violet ignited their lightsabers. For standing there, waiting for them, her unstable lightsaber already ignited, was Minerva.
