Act II (Part 2)

Now things are starting to be insane from Peter's perspective. Most likely Kraven has him down to a tee. For example, knows where he goes to hang out with friends via Peter Pan's. So, not going there is going to be obvious. Another is that he knows who his friends are, so he has to check up on them every once a while. He also has to deal with not being Spider-Man for a few days from Happy, but at the same time avoid Kraven at all costs because of Fury.

He didn't know if he could do all of that as Peter Parker though. He checked his time to see it was 6:30, an hour and 30 minutes have passed since he last talked to Fury. Then an idea sparked in his head, Ned! Ned could help him find information about Kraven. However, that would risk communication between the two of them and Kraven finding them out and killing them for Beck's crew.

He had to think of a way out of this, his shoulder started to feel better since the hospital visit, and his enhanced healing kicked in quite well. Maybe, if he could just... "Aargh!" He yelled as he tried to pop his shoulder back into place, so he could get back to being Spider-Man and disobey Happy and Fury without them finding out. Then an idea popped into his head, he was going to visit a certain wizard to make a decision.

As he swung with one arm due to his shoulder still in pain, and honestly, the enhanced healing should've healed it by now. He lands near Bleeker Street and heads to the Sanctum Santorum. He was wearing his costume, to hide his identity and for Dr. Strange to at least talk to him. Much like last time, he walked up the steps and tried to knock on the doors, but they opened by themselves.

He entered in, nobody inside compared to last time, and then the doors closed by themselves. "Hello," he called out as his voice echoed a bit.

"Hello?" A familiar voice called back to him, only it wasn't Dr. Strange, it was Wong. As Wong walked by to see who it was and greeted the hero, "Spider-Man? Nice to see you again."

"Hi, sir. Um... where's Dr. Strange?" He asked.

"Oh, Strange is busy with something. I could help you since he isn't here." Wong suggested.

Peter thought about it and nodded, "Ok, I was gonna ask Strange about this... but you can help me with understanding this. Basically, how would you break a spell that allowed everyone around the world to forget who you are? Specifically, to my fr- certain people I know."

Wong thought for an answer and replied, "Well, a spell like that travels the dark borders between known and unknown reality. It is too dangerous."

"Yeah, but like I wanted to know if there's anything bad would happen if I were to just make certain people remember who I am would cause to break the multiverse again?" Peter asked.

"Ah, I see... well if it's been cast then it wouldn't cause a problem to cause the rifts between universes have been repaired thus not pulling any other being from different Earths. Now onto memories, think of a 'psychic blindspot.'" Wong explained.

"Psychic blindspot?" Peter repeated back.

"Yes, you see assuming everyone forgot who you really are, even if there's a stack of evidence pointing to who you are, everyone's mind won't let them connect the dots. Or if they tried to connect them themselves, it would be in the wrong order. They'd only come to their own solution, not the right one. Now if your identity was compromised, such as someone unmasking you or you unmask yourself, then for that person, the memories would come rushing back." Wong explained.

Peter looked to the ground, he wanted to tear up a bit, however, no time for crying right now as he got to take a chance. And at least he understood how Happy got his memories back of him because Happy took off his mask. "So, if someone takes off my mask or if I do it, they'll remember everything in an instant." He said while snapping his fingers when he said 'instant'.

Wong nodded at this and said, "Yes, any reason you're interested in that spell?" Peter shook his head and said, "Oh, no reason at all."

"Actually, how do you know about it?" Wong asked him as he felt weirded out that someone who doesn't know about magic is asking him about a specific spell. Especially, since the person he's talking to isn't trained in the Mystic Arts.

"I had a thing with my identity and Strange took care of it for me with that spell." Peter surmised, not going into full details as to what actually happened.

Wong then asked, "Say, you want a hot dog?"

Peter was surprised at the suggestion and nodded, "Yeah, that'd be great. I know a great place we could sit."

As Wong opened a portal to the top of the Empire State Building, Peter couldn't help, but reminisce about Peter-3. Man, he missed his alternate selves so much. A flashing memory of him hugging his spider-brothers for their help came to him and he couldn't help but smile at the memory.

"Wow, great view," Wong commented looking at New York City from the Empire State was truly a sight to see. He took a seat, extending his legs out of the roof and eating his hot dog. Peter sat next to him as they stared at the nice view. As they ate their hot dogs, Wong asked him, "How have you been since the whole multiverse fiasco?"

Peter grimaced at being reminded of that. "Not great, but not bad as well. I'm dealing with a lot of crazy things." Wong looked at him weirdly and was about to ask, but Peter quickly dismissed talking about the crazy things he was referring to.

Peter then asked, "Any reason you're being nice to me and treating me to a hot dog?"

Wong took a bite off his hot dog, chewed and swallowed, and then replied, "Strange took a liking to you as well as another kid. I worked with Strange for so long, that I never would've expected him to even like kids since he's always said he never wanted any. Plus, I see how you've been helping this city."

Peter wanted to tear up a bit, but again no use for crying when he has an important mission and that's to get Kraven and Beck's crew. And he also wondered what other kid Strange has been helping with.

"This city needs a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But you're going to make enemies. And people are going to get hurt, sometimes people closest to you." Wong stated firmly and patted the web-head's back.

After they were done eating, Wong opened a portal to Sanctorum and Peter thanked him for the hot dog. Wong said, "No problem. Now I must return to my duties as Sorcerer Supreme."

Peter exited the Sanctorum and thought long and hard about his decision. Due to the inconvenience of Kraven and Beck's crew trying to have their revenge on him, his friends are in trouble, and it is his responsibility to protect them and this city. He didn't want another death to add to his guilt complex, no more people needed to die because of him. When the time is right, he'll return to MJ and Ned, but it won't be the same. Also, he wasn't sure how angry they would be, but he knew it was going to be way worse when Aunt May found out he was Spider-Man.

"Boy, do I need a break," he said to himself. Leaping off the steps and swinging still with one arm was enough for him to at least make himself go home and have dinner.

As he kept swinging, his spider-sense tingled. It was in the direction of where Hell's Kitchen was. Peter shook his head, if he headed there he would've had to deal with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

He sighed and said, "I'll only check it out. Just do some recon and come back home."

Again, swinging with one arm was getting very tiring, so he ran on the side of buildings to gain more momentum and speed. He also ran across and jumped onto rooftops until there was no more. The direction of where his senses were taking him just started to go away.

However, he noticed something odd. Nearby, as he approached Hell's Kitchen, there were at least two black vans parked next to a store. Most likely bad people hurting innocents in that store. He leaped down to the sidewalk and ran across.

Noticing no one guarding the vans, which was odd in itself he leaped again, and this landed on all fours the side of building. Wall-crawling upside down he only peaked through the window. Not too much for them to see him, but enough for him to see what's going on even though he couldn't hear what they're saying inside. There has to be a better entrance, he thought to himself.

He did notice five men all dressed in black suits, even their ties were black, and they were standing in a circle listening to one man speak to them as this one man was sitting in a chair.

"The weapons we got from Beck's crew are sufficient enough for us to raid throughout this town." The man said.

"Soon enough the Maggia will have control of these streets again and Daredevil will die tonight." The man spoke proudly of this as he got up and opened cases for his men to take and he took a weapon for himself.

Peter could just see they were talking and gearing up their weapons. This didn't look good. These guys were planning something horrible. He could call the police, but then these guys would create a crossfire, and someone will die. He wall-crawled onto the roof and planned to attack from above. Maybe, until they got into their vehicles. Yeah, seems like a good plan. He checked the bad shoulder and tried moving it again, he was a little surprised it had a little pain, but he didn't want to use this arm too much in this fight. So, perhaps even before they reach their vehicles web them up.

He quickly looked down to check if any of them came outside their vehicle. None whatsoever. Alright, a new plan was to sneak inside and take off one by one. He also guessed he shouldn't just drop in like the time at the Ferry and since he doesn't have the Iron Spider, he isn't going to be bulletproof with this suit, so reliance on the spider-sense is necessary.

Now if only he could get in. He looked around and saw that he could enter through a ventilation system, just as long he didn't make much noise. As he entered in and crawled regularly instead of like a spider because these vents were a little cramped. He got into a nice opening where he could see the men with guns.

The man leading them ordered, "Alright, boys! Time to go!"

"That's my cue," Peter quipped and quickly punched through the vent and chaos was ensured. They noticed him and started firing, but he webbed all of their guns very fast. He gave a kick to one guy, a punch to the next, and flipped and kick the third guy. Two were left. However, he made a big mistake despite him seeing five men from the outside, there were more men inside this building than he thought.

He quickly webbed the two men in front of him and as more bullets started to fly around, he tried to dodge them all. That's when all the lights went out in the room. Guns were still firing, but they couldn't see, and Peter didn't know who turned them off. However, it gave a great advantage against these bad guys.

One guy screamed as he was punched and got his arm broken. Another got shoved and fell back onto a table. Peter didn't know who else was in the room with him fighting these guys, but man are they brutal.

The number of armed men in that room was around 20, Peter assumed. Now it was down to 13.

Now 12….11…..10…..9 guys left.

Peter takes out one guy by giving a punch to the face, flips over, and webs up another guy. A stockily built man came at him with a knife, but Peter quickly kicked in the face and webbed him up. Five more to go.

Whoever the other guy was with him in that room is still fighting them all at once and Peter looked quickly to see who it was. He could only make out small horns on his mask and usage of Billy clubs. Damn…. this is the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

Daredevil quickly beats down one Maggia goon and then broke another goon's arm and punched him hard in the face, possibly breaking his nose. Two down, three to go. He threw one Billy club which ricocheted and hit one Maggia guy's head, though the guy took it, and all three men came at Daredevil at once. However, Spider-Man webbed them up rather quickly.

Daredevil turned to see the web-head waving at him and he didn't look so happy to see him.

Police were coming so the two vigilantes made a run for it and got far away as possible. Well, as much they could.

"Coast is clear," Daredevil pointed out and turned to look at Spider-Man suspiciously.

"Any reason, you're in my city?" Daredevil asked. Peter wasn't going to lie he was intimidated by this guy.

He gulped and explained, "Um… hi. Uh… so I was on my home until my senses told me to come here and I saw those guys with the guns, so I had to take them out."

"You don't belong here, Spider-Man. Go back and take care of your city." Daredevil gestured to Queens and other boroughs of New York.

"No, listen, you don't need to point that out. I was just helping." Spider-Man waved his hands in a frenzy before trying to calm himself down.

Daredevil stared at him and asked, "Did you even know who those guys were?"

"No."

"They were the Maggia." Daredevil surmised.

"The Maggia? Like the big crime families? Holy—"

"Yeah, well listen. I didn't need the help and besides, you should probably go back." Daredevil was getting a little annoyed with the wall-crawler.

"Well, I don't know about that," Spider-Man commented.

"About what?"

"That you didn't need my help. Those were 20 guys in there."

"I can take a beating and besides I would've beaten them all, interrogated one of them, you know the usual, but then you had to come and somehow I didn't get my info I needed tonight." Daredevil said, slightly annoyed.

"Oh." Spider-Man grimaced.

"Look from vigilante to vigilante, you stick to your place, I stick in mine." Daredevil said sternly.

Spider-Man was about to say something until the spider-sense went off. At the same time, Daredevil smelled that someone else was near and they had a gun and were about to fire.

"Get down!" Daredevil tackled Spider-Man onto the roof, laying down as a shot came in the web-head's direction. Missed only by scratch.

"Oh God, I know who this is." Spider-Man blurted out.

"Save it and just run!" Daredevil yelled.

Both got up immediately and ran across rooftops, shots could still be heard, mostly going to Spider-Man 's direction. Daredevil was confused as to why that was happening. They quickly took cover on the rooftop exit to hide from the sniper.

"It's Kraven." Spider-Man said worried and started to go feel pain in his pain. His spider-sense was hurting his head. He clenched in his fists and pressed the knuckles into his forehead to stop the pain.

"You alright? And whose Kraven?" Daredevil asked getting worried about his new partner. Shots are still being fired, then they stopped.

The radar sense of Daredevil wasn't fooled and whoever Kraven was, he was getting a little too close to them.

"Come on, we have to run!" Daredevil gestured for the web-head to follow him, and Spider-Man did just that. Shots continued to be fired.

They ran fast and jumped across rooftops. Daredevil kept gesturing to run faster and said, "On my signal, we go down!" He gestured to one of the alleyways where Kraven couldn't shoot from so far. After a few jumps across rooftops, Daredevil gave the signal and they both jumped down.

The shots stopped and Kraven stopped following them. He looked around and tried to see where they'd go. He was a little angry, however, something sparked his interest.

"I see that a new player has come to the hunt," said Kraven, smirking and feeling grateful that someone new has come for the challenge.

Daredevil held onto the fire escape and safely landed down onto the alleyway. Spider-Man followed pursuit and did the same.

"I already have one craziness for one night," Daredevil commented. "Who was that guy?"

"He calls himself Kraven the Hunter. And to be honest, I don't know much about him. But he's been targeting me and soon he'll be after my friends," Spider-Man explained while starting to get worried about everything.

"Any reason he's targeting you?" Daredevil asked, having an interest in this new enemy. He might have to investigate what's going on since now Kraven will run amok in Hell's Kitchen.

Peter clenched his jaw at having to explain the turning point of his life to another person, however, he tried his best to explain or give the points that Daredevil needed to know. Also, he couldn't believe he was talking with Daredevil.

"Do you remember Mysterio?" Spider-Man asked.

Daredevil nodded. Spider-Man went on to explain, "Well, he did something bad, and I stopped him. However, because he's dead, his old crew started working in the criminal underworld. Then they hired Kraven to finish the job."

Daredevil sighed and shook his head. Perhaps, it is best to investigate this as well as his other investigation.

"I see. Well, I'm sorry you got that guy after, but if you bring him out to Hell's Kitchen, this city- no, other places like Hell's Kitchen will continue to suffer-"

"Whoa, whoa, I'm not bringing him out, I don't know how he tracks me down precisely, but he appears to be doing a good job of it." Spider-Man pointed out. "And besides, you're right that people will suffer. But your life isn't on the line, mine is because it's my responsibility. My responsibility to take care of Kraven."

Now, to be honest, all Daredevil was going to say was that he would like to help Spider-Man out with Kraven, but for Spider-Man to just suggest that it's responsibility seemed way too much like him, perhaps even too close. Something really horrible must've happened to the wall-crawler for him to say something like that. He also couldn't put his finger, but he was wondering why Spider-Man sounded so young. He also had known he was framed for Mysterio's murder because he defended Spider-Man in trial as Matthew Murdock. For whatever reason, he cannot remember why Spider-Man sounds young... maybe because he is. He decided not to pry so much about that and suggest what he was suggesting before.

"Listen, I know we don't know each other that well. But I'm willing to help you with Kraven," suggested Daredevil as he puts a hand on Spider-Man's shoulder.

"Wait, what?" Spider-Man said astonished at this suggestion.

"It seems like this guy trying to kill you is going to cause a lot of problems," he began. "It's best if we work together to take him down as well as Mysterio's crew."

Peter looked down to the ground and wondered if any little help occurs in his life perhaps might be a chance to take it. After all, he had been on his own for so long, and Happy remembers him now, so it should be somewhat fine. However, if Kraven were to find out about Happy, MJ, Ned, or even Betty and the rest of Daily Bugle. Or worse Kraven kills Daredevil, he couldn't have that on his he didn't know if he could have another hero with him, considering Daredevil wanted him out of his city. Therefore, Kraven is his responsibility.

"No," Spider-Man said confidently.

"Spider-Man just hear me out. I know what it's like, okay. I know guys like us wear masks to protect the people we love and care about. But you don't have to do it alone." Daredevil said, still letting a hand on Spider-Man's shoulder.

Peter looked up and stared into the eyes of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. This time a tear slipped out of one of his eyes. He was doing everything to protect the people he loved. Maybe, now it was time for a change. He asked, "But you didn't want me before and out of your city. So, why work together now?"

"That was before Kraven was shooting at us," Daredevil pointed out. "And besides, I don't know if you think I realized and I don't mean to pry, but you sound young, maybe even younger. This might be way out of your league being a vigilante."

Peter was about to retort but held his tongue. He wasn't offended, but it's not like he can just tell Daredevil everything about him. Daredevil could hear his heartbeat go up out of nervousness as Spider-Man was tensing up a bit, noticing this he decided not to pry more about Spider-Man being young.

"I know it's not best for me to pry into your life, but I think you have two choices, one of which is probably going to cause you a lot of pain. The other option is for me to work with you on this because I think there is something I'm investigating that might be connected to Kraven. Keyword: might." Daredevil explained.

Peter was surprised and had so many questions pop into his mind, that he didn't know where to start. Maybe, it won't be so bad working with another person like him, especially after the Avengers are barely a no-show and he fought with Peter-2 and Peter-3 to not risk other universes coming into this one. He nodded and tried to grab Daredevil's hand to do a shake in agreement.

"What are you doing?" He asked, bluntly.

"Oh, sorry, I was-never mind. I'll work with you." Spider-Man said.

"Perfect," Daredevil said proudly, "I'll see you tomorrow night. Meet me near the Clinton Church. We'll have lots to discuss." As soon as he said that Daredevil started to climb back onto a roof and go away from Spider-Man's view.

Peter took a breath and thought this was too crazy, first Happy, next Nick Fury, and now Daredevil of all people coming to him about Kraven. At least, Wong helped him with a decision he was going to make, so there's that. he was hoping nothing too crazy was going to happen these next few days. He wall-crawled to the roof and started to web-swing back home and boy, was he hungry.

Hope you guys enjoyed this one! Cause the fun is just beginning, also yes, I put the comic explanation of the spell being explained by Wong.

And I hope in the new trilogy or an Avengers film we get Spidey eating a hot dog and talking with another hero on a rooftop. Those moments qare very wholesome in the comics.
