The legendary Kunoichis chapter 2
Sorry about the delay this chapter was longer than what I anticipated. However, I felt like I need to spend some time setting some stuff up. For example, I wanted Naruko and Hinata to learn some elemental techniques before the end of parts one. Meaning I needed them too start training in that area right away if I wanted to make it believable.
On top of that I was hoping to get at least two reviews before I continue, but I suppose I kept you guys and gals waiting long enough.
Reviews:
Hinat Hyuuga Uchiha- Thank you for my first review. If you like Hinata overcoming her shyness you're going to enjoy the next few chapters. In my opinion a good teacher must be active and to treat their students equally, meaning no giving special treatment to others at the expense of the rest of the class unless notable needed.
So I will attempt to give all teachers these qualities in the future.
Suryamangwal63- Right now.
This is a Naruto fanfic, and is those owned by Kishimoto and whoever is in charge of making the Naruto anime and games.
It had been while over 2 months since Naruko and Hinata had made their promise to become stronger, subsequently Hinata's father started to take notice. Sure he should be proud his daughter is spending more time at the academy, and library. However, he was worried, Hinata was once kidnapped in her own home a few years ago. So her spending so much time in less guarded locations, with resources that could be found in the Hyuga clan put him a little on edge. That why he had his oldest child in front of him right before she left for her first finals at the academy.
Hiashi spoke in the same tuff, stern, and strict voice he always used, "Hinata I have noticed that you have been staying away from the house a lot lately, might I ask why that is?" Hinata has been fearing this question for a while, because if she said that she has been spending time with a friend her father would get curious and find out about Naruko. Luckily Hinata already came up with a plan to solve this dilemma some time ago. Hinata answered in the same voice she normally used with her father, "I have been training with my friends at the academy too help counter opponents the same size as me and figure out methods on how to take down people outside the clan". Hinata's father then asked "what about the library? The Hyuga clan has one of the most extensive personal libraries in the village, to the point I doubt nothing short of a kages personal library could definitively out class ours".
This added question was still according to Hinata's plan. "I know the library in the Hyuga clan compound is large, and I know this firsthand as I have been reading many books inside of it. However, the public library for shinobi and ninja in training is superior in terms of quantity, and diversity compared to our own. For example, I have been brushing up on the nature transformations, something the Hyuga library is lacking in information on. The leader of the clan then asked, "oh really, I would be more than happy to hear what you know". However, instead of his daughter getting nervous like he expected, Hinata seemingly gained more confidence during their conversations then he has seen in well over a year, as she begins talking about elemental jutsu.
The five basic elements are fire, water, lightning, earth, and air. These elements are so fundamental the five great nations are named after one of these elements, and their corresponding element is the most commonly found in their nation. With each element having one that can be used to counter and enhance each other. There is also yen and Yang release that represents the mind and body which are commonly used in techniques such as the expansion jutsu, healing techniques, and any form of genjutsu. However, if you were too combine the two styles some of the most powerful jutsu in history could be cast.
Fire style is the least flexible out of all the basic elements in my opinion as it can only be formed into some variation of a fireball, fire doesn't necessarily out do any of the other elements in terms of pure power, and any complex shapes revolving around fire needed blaze release. However, some of the most powerful fire style techniques, or if this Element was performed by someone at a high enough level they could make up for these factors easily.
Wind style is the best at cutting, and thanks to it being the most easily accessible catalyst, Wind style is always has already existing air available. Anyone who specializes in wind style could come up with devastating techniques at low cost, thanks to this fact. The only weakness too Wind style is that this advantage can be taken away when underwater, but I suppose making air with chakra could overcome the drowning problem.
Water Style Is the easiest to mold into different shapes for attacks. Water style is also extremely useful for capturing and hiding thanks to the mist technique, and water prison technique. Water is so abundant finding a catalyst for it is no problem. Even if you are in a desert some water style users could still flood the area, or use high level water style techniques even without a body of water.
Earth style can be used to create barriers, and uses the ground they're standing on as a catalyst. Some of the more creative, and experienced earth style users can make this element the most flexible out of any of the five basic nature transformations. Some of the strongest earth style users can even reshape entire landscapes.
Lastly we have Lightning style which has devastating power and speed based techniques. Lighting style can also be used to vibrate the molecules inside objects at incredible speeds to give them increased piercing power that could surpass wind style. Some such as the Raikage can use lighting style to increase all their physical capability, and others skilled in this element could uses a single spark to paralyze a target.
There are also kekkei genkai which are essentially new elements created when someone mix's two of the five basic elemental natures. Some of them only belong to special clans, others can be learned by a handful of individuals, and certain Kekkei genkai have so few users some can count how many have access to it in the past hundred year on your hands.
Wood style is one such kekkei genkai. It's a combination of water and earth release. Would style allows someone to create wooden constructs, trees, and other forms of plant life. It is even theoretically possible to create entire towns and forest with wood release. Wood style even has the natural property too suppress chakra. However, the only notable user I could find was the first hokage Hashirama Senju, so I am not certain on the specifics as some of his techniques could potentially be the norm for wood style, or simply an exception to the rules. Wood style is the only nature transformation that shares the same two elements as a different kekkei genkai to my knowledge, that being mud release.
A more common Kekkie genkai is lava release, it is made out of fire and earth, and users can be found in all five great nations. It can be used not just for making lava, but also quicklime and rubber like substances. In fact, it can make any volcanic substance, and in whatever shape a person wants it to be.
Explosion release is made out of earth and Lightning release. Someone who master this style can apply explosive properties to anything. For example, they could release explosions from their bodies, or turn objects into the bombs. It's relatively as easy to learn as lava style, but it's a closely guarded secret of Iwagakure's explosion core, so information about it is limited here.
Storm release is in a similar position, as most users of storm release exist in the hidden cloud, but there have been some sightings of people outside the land of Lightning being able to perform it. Unlike its name might entail Storm release allows one to create lasers. Although there is a certain clan from the Hidden Cloud Village that can create and manipulate weather like phenomenon that is classified as storm release.
Magnet release is made out of wind and earth. Magnet release allows one to control and produce magnetic fields. It is unique as it is the only nature transformation that allows someone to control and produce an intangible force, and it's also special in the fact someone using this is forced to uses already existing tools and the environment as a weapon, instead of the chakra itself. It is incredibly rare as only a handful of users exist including two kazekage, and that most of these individuals' hail from the land of wind. However, this style isn't as common as scorch release.
Hinata continue to explain a half dozen other nature transformations. All the while Hiashi simply sat with a look of pride, but eternally he was exploding with shock and astonishment. There are some Genin who barely know anything about nature transformations, and most chunin can only name one or two mix nature transformations. However, someone who is still well into their Academy years has just demonstrated a better theoretical understanding then a high level jonin such as Hiashi himself. In fact, if you were to look around the surroundings everyone in sight that wasn't Hinata and her father had their jaws dropped, or were busy writing down what Hinata was saying for future reference.
At the end of Hinata Hyuga's long lecture on chakra natures, her father stood up with a look of pride and said, "I am most impressed with you Hinata. It's not every day a father can brag about his daughter's excellent intellect, and I look forward to seeing your good grades on your final today. However, I must ask before you leave why you have so much interest in nature transformations"?
Hinata simply replied with "me and a friend saw sasuke Uchiha trying to learn fire style a few weeks ago. Since then I have been trying to make sure our rival clan didn't one up us, by learning all I can about nature transformations. In fact, it's through this research that I learned my nature affinity is fire and lightning".
As she began to walk out, Hinata when no one was looking had a smile of pride, confidence, and a little bit of ego. Three different emotions she hasn't felt around her family in years, if not ever. All the while beaming at the praise she got from her father. A feeling, and a look on her face she could get used too. With those emotions swirling in her head Hinata couldn't wait but too talk about this with Naruko.

When Hinata got to school everyone's eyes we're on the duo, simply due to the strange scene being witnessed. Hinata had been talking animatedly for quite some time, while demonstrating more energy than your average school girl. Meanwhile Naruko was quiet and trying to not get noticed. This image made some of the students theorize the two somehow swapped bodies.
Unaware of what everyone else was doing around her Hinata kept on talking about what transpired that morning. However, she eventually stopped when the heiress noticed her blonde friend was down in the dumps. Immediately switching gears Hinata asked," what's the matter Naruko". The fox like girl replied with her rarely used quiet voice, " I know I am going to fail this big test". Hinata quickly grabbed her best friends hands and said, "you have been studying nonstop, and I have been making sure you understood the material thoroughly. So I know you are ready Naruko-chan". Before Naruko could reply Iruka started the test and asked everyone to settle down.
While their teacher was passing out papers Hinata quietly said "you could do it Naruko". With those words Naruko took a peek at the test with new found confidence. Quickly scanning through each subject her confidence only grew. Some of the questions that caught her eye were:
Who are all the people who became hokage?
Which of the legendary Sannin revolutionized medical ninjutsu?
What are the three basic types of Jutsu called?
3x5=
Name six different countries.
With a whisker grin blooming into existence Naruko knew she was going to do more than pass this exam. She was going to get a great grade.

Two months ago at the Library.
"So this is the library? It doesn't look all that impressive" Naruko stated with a look of boredom and indifference evident on her face. Hinata couldn't help but giggle at Naruko's response. Sure the building was large, but it was far from the most impressive building in town. However, Hinata knew what was inside would change her friend's tone. Hinata opened the door for Naruko and just when the whiskered girl stepped inside a look of shock and all plastered itself on her face, the Hyuga clan heiress then announced "welcome to the konoha library".
The library was massive with bookshelves filled with information around every corner. All the different hallways and bookshelves made it impossible to tell just how big the first floors were. Just when Naruko started to come to grasp with what was right in front of her she looked up and saw there was at least a second floor filled with books just like the first. To top it all off the site of Shinobi from multiple different levels strolling the building was nothing sort of impressive too the child wanting to become hokage.
Naruko was eventually snapped out of it when the librarian on desk gave the girl a stink eye. The librarian was a Kunoichi with graying hair and stick like fingers due to age, but with a Konoha vest and minor movements that's screams experience showed she still had a good deal of fight in her. Her nose, long nails, and missing teeth were like that of a witch, but her hair and outfit in contrast was well kept. The librarian most striking features though were her golden eyes that's screamed of concentration and knowledge that far surpassed anyone in the library. All these features seem to draw attention away from her name tag that read "Baba Shurui, head librarian"
Before anyone can make a move Baba Shurui spoke in a voice that matched the look that she was giving Naruko, "what are you doing here"? However, in response Naruko harden her courage and said "I am here to hang out with Hinata-Chan and study". In response to this little girl's words Baba gave out a surprisingly sweet laugh and said in the same but somehow kinder voice, "that's what I like to hear, It warms my heart too hear kids wanting to learn and spend time in this place of learning. However, I have heard of your pranks, so if you damage even a single book by the tiniest amount I will toss you out"!
Naruko seemed surprised by this, "you would really let me stay"? Baba gave her a response in the same tone as before, "I know you would eventually wind up here eventually, and I have excepted this fact an long time ago. Meaning as long as you take care of your books, and stay in the proper wings for academy students and civilians you will have no problems with me, and the rest of the library staff. Heck, if you are looking for a specific book I would be more than willing to give you a hand in finding it". Naruko was left in a daze because under normal circumstances the shops she goes to either don't allow her in, excepts her, or reluctantly allows her to make her purchases, never all three. The kid was once again shocked by the old woman's voice "come on get moving I don't have all day", and with that Naruko grabbed Hinata's hand and went deeper into the library, unaware of the smile forming along Baba Shurui's face.
As soon as the two girls found a table they started piling on books to help Naruko study, but when they were finished Hinata noticed something weird with Naruko's pile. Hinata's books were on various different school subjects ranging from math to history, and even some with tips to help them learn some basic E rank jutsu. Meanwhile Naruko's books had very little to help them pass a written test, some were on fictional stories, others fairytales, and some had pictures of techniques that they had no hope of learning before they passed the academy. "Naruko I thought we came here to help you study? Why did you grab so many books meant for fun?" Naruko couldn't help but to turn red in embarrassment when she replied with "they looked cool so I grab them, and I wasn't sure exactly what I was supposed to grab".
Hinata simply giggled and waved it off, as they got to work. However, the two friends quickly realize something, Naruko have the attention span of a goldfish when it came to normal learning methods. Because the young blonde was getting distracted every few minutes by simple a Fly buzzing around, or a squeaky floor board whenever someone stepped on a certain wooden plank in the hallway. To top it all off Naruko would somehow forget most of what she learned from the book a few minutes later. Lucky for the two they were both determined, and Hinata realized the best course of action to help Naruko learn.
Hinata figure out that Naruko was a hands on learner, who can keep her focus if the lesson had some razzle dazzle. Naruko during one of her distractions was copying some of the hand signs within one of the books she grabbed, and was able to still remember some of it a little while afterwards. Meanwhile she also remembered the answer to the question Hinata asked thanks to a simple joke the two made. The first Kazekage death was parsley thanks to a banana peel, in his demise help end the first shinobi war. Embarrassing for him, but good for Naruko to pass history.
With this in mind Hinata and Naruko began to perform elaborate and fun activities ranging from songs, to a slightly altered game of go fish, and even at one point a cinnamon roll and ramen reward system. Sure Hinata had to put in twice as much work and had to make sure she thoroughly understood the information, but it was all worth it when she saw the glowing smile her best friend was radiating. Especially when this gave her the opportunity to double down on her own studying. However, their was still one more distraction the two faced at the end of their library trip. Naruko got engrossed in a book of fairytales she grabbed earlier, and brought the young Hyuga in on the action.
Naruko was fascinated by many of the fairytales in the book, Tsuru no Ongaeshi, the rabbit queen Kaguya, the sage of six paths animal companions, and even a handful stories of knights saving princesses to name a few. Naruko during her time in the orphanage would hear brief segments of fairytales the staff were reading to the kids and even heard a fellow orphans talking about what was going on in those stories, but she never got too hear half of it before they shooed her away. However, here she was at long last hearing the stories that shaped people for generations. Naruko even pretended to be a knight in shining armor at one point, and said Hinata was prettier than the princess in the books. However, that fantasy quickly ended for Naruko when Hinata suddenly turned bright red and almost fainted.
The most interesting story Naruko read within the book was called the ugly duckling. Naruko was fascinated with every page of the story. The duck was an outcast like her, was shunned for reasons it didn't understand, like herself, but through it all the ugly duckling eventually found a family to call her own, and became a swan whose beauty surpassed all the ducks who made fun of her. This story reflected Naruko herself, and couldn't help but put a smile on her face when she realized the fact Hinata was like the ugly duckling finding a family in her personal story, and that meant things are going to start looking up for her.
Naruko's fantasies quickly ended when a beautiful, young looking librarian appeared behind the two friends and said in a kind and sweet voice " The library is closing soon, so I suggest you two start checking out, and putting books away". In response Naruko simply nodded her head in sadness as the small girl held the book of fairytales tightly in her arms. However, seeing this the librarian despite getting a good luck at Naruko and in the same kind voice said, "you know you can always check it out with your library card". Naruko replied with, "but I don't have a library card". The librarian then explained too Naruko that she could get one there and then, and began the process of giving the kid a konoha library card. Unknown to the two of them there were books that the two didn't pick out laying on the table.
During the process Hinata can't help, but get the feeling she seen this woman before, then it clicked with the words on the name tag read "Baba Shurui". When the look of realization hit Hinata, a puff of smoke engulfed the librarian and the old woman appeared. The two squeaked in surprised and all the elderly librarian could say was " surprise weren't you, I have been waiting for you to realize, and here's your library card and checked out book". Naruko slowly reached out to took the items and gave a confuse sounding "thank you".
Seeing the looks on the two faces Baba decided to give them an exclamation. " I have been keeping an eye on you two, making sure the small one was behaving herself". Naruko greeted her teeth and grunted in response before the old woman continued, "however, to my pleasant surprise I just saw a couple of friends learning, and having fun. Something that always brings a smile to my face. So I decided to slip in too give some books you needed, and too see two kids having fun". Hinata then asked, "why the transformation then"?
Baba than switched to a more serious tone compared to her more whimsical voice a moment an ago to answer her question. "If I were too have showed you my true face it would have distracted you from your studying, and might have scared Naruko from getting her library card. Plus, I'd like to give the young ninja who walk in a lesson or two, to help them improve. Can you tell me what that is"? After a little bit of thinking Naruko bluntly answered with, "the transformation Jutsu is really good for hiding and tricking people".
Instead of getting angry Baba only smiled and said "you are correct! Among all 3 main Academy techniques most Shinobi have a tendency of underutilizing them by the time they are ready for the chunin exams, despite their usefulness and low level learning curve. Shadow clones can allow someone to produce a team of themselves, be in multiple places at once, and even distract the enemy while they're preparing to retreat or for a counter attack. The substitution technique can allow someone to avoid a deadly attack, and in some cases manipulate the enemies position. Lastly the transformation technique can allow someone the ability to encounter and move around the enemy unnoticed like what I did with the two of you. The transformation technique can even be used to give someone an offensive edge under certain circumstances. Heck it's theoretically possible to reach chunin with a great enough mastery of just one of the academy techniques. Sure it often requires a stronger variation of the 3 techniques to reach that level, but the three academy techniques can give you a solid foot hold on those more techniques".
Hinata quickly realized what she was talking about. If Baba was an enemy she could've walked right past them and delivered a devastating attack without warning. With Naruko quickly following suit. Although the sense of dread quickly vanished when the young blonde said "thank you for all you've done". Hinata quickly did the same.
Appearances could be deceiving, and that's a good or bad thing. However if you are able to look past the cover of a book, and have an open mind even, a world of wonder can emerge. Learning opportunities and friends will quickly follow.

Ever since their trip to the library our two heroines have gotten into a routine. Before or after class commences Naruko and Hinata would spar against each other. During lunch, group projects, and other breaks the two will play and talk. After school or during the weekends the two will head to the library, get some books, say "hello there" to Baba, and then study and enjoyed each other's company. However, a little over a month into their training something occurred that word shake things up.
Hinata and Naruko were having a sparring match in a wooded area near a corner of the Village. Aside from the location, everything was going about the same. Naruko was constantly on the attack, and was relentless no matter how long the fight went on. Meanwhile, Hinata was expertly blocking and counterattacking with a barrage of quick and precise jabs and palm strikes. On paper it was no different their first clash. In actuality it was different, as Hinata's movements were becoming more fluid, and natural leaving less openings in both her offense and defense. Naruko was steadily becoming more intelligent with her strikes, and was slowly starting to develop a fighting style to call her own.
The fruits of their labor then bloomed when Naruko delivered a Hyuga style palm thrust that shocked Hinata enough to make contact, and the twin tailed girl quickly followed up her assault with a solid kick. However, this time Naruko was surprised when Hinata quickly recovered, through a faint with one arm, and delivered a powerful palm strike with no signs of hesitation too her stomach. The attack was so powerful Naruko was sent flying through multiple bushes and only stopped when she successfully made it through the brush. The attack left Naruko into a daze that guaranteed her loss, and Hinata into a panic as she tries to find and help her friend.
Naruko was quickly back on her feet thanks to her flight or fight instincts when the whispers of "fireball jutsu" rang through the air. Hinata soon arrived and began to ask if Naruko was all right, but before the lavender eyed girl could fully speak her thoughts Naruko pushed her to the ground, fearing a fireball would come hurts by. When the two girls got back on their feet Hinata said, "I I see you are all right Naruko-Chan, but but why did you push me to the ground"? Naruko then apologized to her best friend and explain that she heard the words fireball jutsu, and feared one of them could have gotten burnt. Hinata then understood what her twin Tailed friend was saying when she heard it as well.
With their curiosity peaked the two friends quickly looked around for the source of the worlds. It didn't take them long to find the source as Sasuke Uchiha was practicing hand signs and saying the words fireball repeatedly. Naruko couldn't help but laugh at Sasuke's who was starting to get blue in the face with his attempts to produce fire. The whiskered cheek girl eventually stopped and took a step back when Hinata had multiple vans around her eyes. "You know Hinata whenever you do that your creepiness and coolness level goes up like crazy". If look of surprised Hinata said "sparks"?!
Hinata then deactivated her Byakugan and explains what she saw. "Sasuke Uchiha was producing sparks. It may not be much but at the rate he's going it wouldn't surprise me if he manages to figure out fire style before graduating from the academy. He might even be able to learn multiple fire style techniques by the time he graduates the Academy". As this news sunk in that the current top of their class was further ahead of everyone then they realize they were left speechless.
However, there's state of realization was broken when Sasuke suddenly appeared and said, "so that's how far I am at? That both good, but disappointing news". Naruko gave out a loud "what" in response. The Intergenic girl continued, "you are already the top in our class in every area, but academic test, which you still do great on. Just now you were making progress in mastering a technique someone in our grade should be stuck in. Yet somehow you're still not satisfied with what you are doing"?
Sasuke then huffed and said, "as if the dead last could understand my desire for power. You started out weak, and will likely stay as such. As for me despite knowing I am strong, I also know I am not even at 1% the strength I need to even fight against a certain man".
Naruko clinched her fist and got ready to yell back, but Hinata beat the blond to it. "You don't know anything, Naruko is stronger than what you give her credit for. Sure she might not be the top of the class right now, but I know Naruko-Chan will one day be hokage". Sasuke in response to what Hinata said was, "fine I will admit that I'm wrong, and will even apologize if the blond can land one hit again me, before I could land 3 against her. "Naruko simply said "you're on".
The Uzumaki and the Uchiha begin to circle around each other, as they begin to look for an opening. Sasuke wouldn't admit it, but he can tell just by Naruko's stance and not charging into the fight showed she was definitely going to be a bigger challenge than he had anticipated. However, a good sparring match with make his training session for the day a little more fruitful, so he didn't care either way. Naruko while they were trying to find opening spoke up and asked, "hay Sasuke why were you training in the middle of the woods?" Sasuke without any changes to his expression said, "I lived nearby, and speaking of I could ask you the same thing". "Me and Hinata have been doing some special training, and to mix things up we like to go to different locations".
Sasuke simply blinked a few times to his female opponent, before replying with "it's quite rare to see my fan girls actually training so hard and getting along". Naruko cheeks went pink and angrily said, " we are not your fan girls"! Sasuke didn't hesitate to use this as the perfect opportunity to attack, crossing the distance between them in a flash.
Sasuke landed the first hit easily enough on Naruko, but the whisked girl was able to notice his next two punches in time and was able to get out of the way. Naruko then attempted to copy Hinata fighting style the second time that day and tried to hit Sasuke with a barrage of quick and precise arm thrust. However, unlike a Hyuga Naruko's lacks the skilled and precision to make full uses and so Sasuke was able to count all of the attacks and even able to put in the second punch against Naruko, right in the face. This blow barely deterred the blonde as she continued her attack.
Naruko's persistence was able to finally break through Sasuke defenses, but at the cost of leaving her self-open. The girl had one punch going for the Uchiha's face, meanwhile the boy had a punch going straight for the Uzumaki's gut. It was a blink and you miss it moment as Sasuke thanks to having slightly longer arms he was able hit his target first. Although it wasn't in vane as Naruko was able to still land a powerful but sloppy punch on Sasuke immediately and distinctly after his third successful attack.
Naruko laid on the ground disappointed that despite her month of training the gap between herself and Sasuke was still so vast. As Sasuke begin to walk away Sasuke said one final thing to his opponent, "you might have lost the fight and the bet, but you manage to impress me. You successfully landed a hit against me a moment after my third hit, and tried to improve yourself instead simply chasing after me. In my books that puts you and Hinata higher up then most of the girls in our class. No wonder your friend believed you could become hokage".
Hinata was then immediately by her friend side, asking if she was OK and checking her out for injuries. However, Naruko missed everything Hinata was saying because the past few minutes were still replaying in her head. When The whiskered girl finally spoke it was in a whisper, "Hinata do you really think I can one day be hokage"? Hinata immediately replied with, "yes I do Naruko-Chan. With how hard you work, your ability to walk through hardships with a smile on your face, and accompanied by your heart I can't think of a better candidate for hokage in the future".
Naruko without warning then hugged Hinata and pressed their cheeks together. Naruko was also delivering tears of joy and thank the lavender eye girl for believing in her. Meanwhile Hinata was somehow barely able to process all of Naruko's words as the Hyuga heiress was turning bright red, and mind was overheating thanks to the close contact.

Eventually the two girls calm down enough to become their normal selves. However, one thought still rambled throughout the young Uzumaki's mind " how were they going to catch up too Sasuke"? Sure Hinata could probably catch up to the guy in taijutsu soon enough, and in the Uzumaki's mind definitely surpassed him overall nearing the end of their academy days, but the same thing cannot be said about Naruko herself. On top of that even if they are able to be bet him in a fistfight his Genjutsu score will still be higher and being able to perform a fireball jutsu would definitely put him ahead when it comes to ninjutsu. Then a simple thought ran through the foxy girl's head, "why can't we learn nature transformations as well"?
Hinata thought it would be impossible for them right now to learn it, but Naruko wasn't taking no for an answer. With a new determination burning within our hero's heart she drags her friend to the library to start learning nature transformations. However, one problem became clear they couldn't find any good books about it. Sure there was books talking about it, but none of them described in any detail how to learn it.
After a good hour of searching Naruko said "did you find anything good Hinata-Chan? Because all that I was able to find is that there are five basic elements". The lavender eyed girl responded with, "I am have the same luck as you. Then again I was afraid this was going to happen". Naruko raised her eyebrows and Hinata continued. "nature transformations even on the most basic levels could be considered an advanced C level technique. Meaning any notable books about nature transformations would be in the genin section, or the chunin sections".
Naruko wasn't going to let this stop her, but before she could step into the next wing a younger and beautiful looking Baba appeared right in front of her. Seeing Naruko's blushing face was right in front on her womanly assets Baba gave a koi grin and said, "I didn't know you swing that way Naruko-Chan? That's fine with me, as long as you don't step into the genin section in front of you". However, Naruko didn't comment on the sexuality comment, as she tried in vain to come up with excuses and denials too walking into a wing she didn't belong again.
Taking a deep breath Naruko stopped and begin to tell story about Sasuke earlier that day. Baba Shurui scratched her chin in contemplation, and after a little while said, "Hinata what do you think about you two learning nature transformation"? Hinata shyly responded with "I personally think we are not ready, and wouldn't be able to perform a single elemental jutsu by the time we finish the academy, but if Naruko believes it's a good idea then I will follow her. It might not come in handy now, or many not even the time we graduate. However, if we can start leaning even the basics right now we can at minimum make great progress later down the line".
A happy smile appeared on the librarian as she said "follow me", and began to lead the two into a different wing. Baba as they were walking in silence before grabbing a red book, then a brown book, followed up by a yellow book, and then a Blue book. However, each book seemed too slowly unaged baba only stopping when she Grab a green book and had five in both of her hands. Leaving the elderly woman looking around two years older than them.
She didn't comment on her transformation as the librarian let them deeper into the building, and begin to tell them a story. "When I was young me and Sarutobi used to wander these halls reading as many books as we can. We even snuck into the Jonin and forbidden sections a couple of times. Despite getting into trouble for it we both had a thirst for knowledge that was unquenchable. This crusade for knowledge along long these very halls eventually got the attention of the Second hokage himself. Instead of punishing the guy offered my friend a chance to be his student and gain access to all the books in Konoha".
Hinata eyes widened as she realized who her friend was and why Baba decided to transform to tell the story. In a soft voice Hinata asked "was your friend the third hokage"? Baba gave a look that exposed her age as she reminisced about the good old days. "Hiruzen was always reading about new Jutsu and with me by his side whenever he stepped foot in the library he always finds what he was looking for, and never got corrupted by the power written down, unlike a certain snake".
By the time she finished speaking they were almost in Jonin section. Putting the five books she had on the ground Baba reached up and grabbed the thickest book around them. "knowledge is power and power corrupts, but knowledge can also be liberating, a source of wisdom, and assist in overcoming obstacles. So can I count on the two of you too handle this knowledge and stay on the right path like what I did with Hirozen all those years back"? The two Young girls nodded with a yes, and Baba reverted to her true form before handy it too Hinata. However, the book was so heavy Hinata almost fell over, if it wasn't for Naruko catching her.
They returned to the academy student section and set down at their usual table, as Baba gave them an explanation on the six books she gave them access too. Apparently the first five books were meant to help Genin lean how to gain access too elemental natures, and the strength and weaknesses revolving around them. The first five wasn't too much of a stretch for Academy students to comprehend and use, but the last one was A completely different story. The largest book on the table was meant for chunin to understand any type elemental natures they might come a crossed, no matter how rear, including Wood style. It was a sign that the elderly librarian trusted them and put great faith in there studying capabilities.
Before the head librarian left to attend to her other activities she gave the two girls each a blank sheets of paper, and ask them to put chakra into it. The children did so and found something was happening to their paper, Naruko's sheet of paper had split down the middle, and Hinata's found her sheet of paper was crinkled up and burnt along the sides. Baba then grinned and said "you don't see that every day. Naruko you have affinity for wind, while you Hinata have an affinity for both Lightning and fire".
The two friends look confuse so Baba decided to elaborate. "The paper I gave you two will show what affinity the person possesses when chakra is transferred into it. Sense Naruko's paper split that means she would have the easiest time learning wind style, this style is also the rarest in the land of fire. Fire style means the paper is burnt and Lightning style means the paper crinkled. Hinata, since your paper had two different effects that means you will can learn both fire and lightning styles faster the most people, having a strong affinity for two styles is quite rare. However, don't get too cocky as for every inch you get in mastering lightning for example Naruko will get 2 inches in mastering wind, assuming you both move at the average rate. If you too want to learn more I would suggest, reading one of the book I gave you".

Present
It was late in the day with the orange setting sun decorating the land. Under normal circumstances the academy would be empty at this time, but thanks to the paper test held earlier some teachers were still there grading. Although in Iruka's case he had company as two of his students decided to stick around. "You know Naruko and Hinata the test results will be in tomorrow right?"
Naruko responded with "I know, but I am so nervous about it I doubt I could get a bit of sleep until I know what my score is". "The same thing goes for me as well Iruka sensei, but on the bright side at least I can hang out with Naruko-chan for a little bit". Iruka simply nodded his head and got to work finishing grading the papers.
It is true that the girls were having a blast just being together, but it didn't stop them from being nervous. Because every noticeable facial expression Iruka made filled them with hope and dread. However, the suspense came to it's climax when Iruka was spending a unusually long period of time grading the last test in the pile. When he was done the teacher grabbed the sheet he was just working on and one from the pile right beside him and walked over to the two girls.
Iruka stood in front of Hinata and Naruko, gave them each a sheet of paper, and said " I am not supposed to give you your test until tomorrow, but I can still show the grades you got". Naruko scanned her paper and saw her grade and froze. Her grade was definitely not what she expected. Naruko Uzumaki got a 83% on the test. It was enough for the blond to start crying tears of joy. Every test she ever got was either an F or a D, but this piece of paper in the young girl hands was evidence that Naruko Uzumaki was not dumb and had potential.
Once Naruko was finished crying enough for her to clearly see. They looked at Hinata's test score and their jaws hit the floor. Hinata got a 99% on the test. With a quick glance to the teacher he confirmed that Hinata Hyuga did indeed get the best score in the class, and by a notable margin no less.
With a whoop of joy from Naruko she hugged Hinata and exclaimed at the top of her voice, "My best friend Hinata Hyuga is the smartest in the class!" Under normal circumstances Hinata would have fainted, but instead she was so fully conscious and shouted, "My best friend Naruko Uzumaki did fantastic on the finals"! The girls stayed in each embrace cheering in joy for each other's success for quite a while. They were so close and happy Iruka knew he couldn't separate them if he tried.
Authors notes:
Baba is a Oc I created and don't worry she only has one or two more notable appearances for her plans currently. So if you don't like oc she'll be in and out quickly. However, if you guys and gals want to see more of her let me know.
Sorry about how long explanation at the beginning was. I just wanted to show off how smart Hinata was. Hinata literally made homemade ointments through her own studies, and likely answer most of the questions during the first exams without cheating like Sakura. So give her a little extra book smart, with more confidence, and she can become the team's residence smart guy/gal. Making her stronger in a both unique and in easy reachable way.
Lastly I would like to thank all of you for your likes and following my story. Have a wonderful day everyone.
