This is a Naruto fanfic, and is those owned by Kishimoto and whoever is in charge of making the Naruto animes' and games.
The second day of at the finals came. For that day every student in the Academy was performing their practical. However, to Naruko she considers it a day to show off.
The students in the class thought everything was going to go back to normal when they saw Hinata was acting shy and timid. Then when they saw Naruko's smug face they quickly discarded that idea. Under normal circumstances Naruko would be a nervous wreck waiting for her low test scores, but the look on her face was nothing short of the cat who just ate the canary. The last time Naruko had that face for a extended period of time she put a whoopi cushion under everyone's seat, managed to keep the items a secret until they sat down, and did so in a way that still puzzled every teacher and student to this very day on just how that's even possible? Needless to say a few of Naruko's classmates, and a random teacher was frantically looking for one of her pranks.
Eventually the day went on as planned when Iruka handed out the test results. Some were happy, somewhere not. On the happy end of the spectrum Sakura and Ino we're giggling in victory when they saw their matching 93% scores. On the opposite end of the spectrum you could hear a dog moaning in disappointment.
" I can't believe I got a F on the test", kiba said with grief evident on his face. Choji simply responded with, "Me and Shikamaru had a huge studying session last night. Apparently if Shikamaru doesn't get a C or higher on a big test his mom would get super mad, so he asked me to make sure he didn't fall asleep halfway through studying. If you want Kida, you can join us next time".
Kiba eagerly agreed before commenting, "At least I know with Naruko around I wouldn't have the worst score in the class. If I did I am pretty sure my mom would make me sleep in the dog House". At that moment Naruko with the same smug smirk, came behind them, and showed them her 83%.
At that moment the entire room went silent. Every student couldn't believe their eyes that Naruko manage to get a B on the biggest written test of the year, and out scored a decent chunk of them. Only for the moment to end with a simple comment from Sasuke, "I am not sure what the big deal is. The blond scored pretty good for once, good for her. It makes no difference to me because I still got a better score than her". In actuality Sasuke only got an 85%, but the Uchiha didn't want anyone to realize just how close the two scores are.
Naruko simply commented with, "thank you Sasuke, but I think your praises should be going to my best friend over here". With that said Hinata showed everyone around her 99% score. At that moment some students' jaws hit the floor, most notably being Ino, Sakura, and Sasuke. Hinata had successfully knock the three off their pedestals when it comes to academic work.
Naruko might have been beaming with pride and arrogance. Hinata, on the other hand was getting intention and praise from a crowd and she had no idea how to handle it. With these emotion swirling around them the two friends didn't realize that they just set a fire underneath multiple classmates wanting to take them down.

The first practical of the day came in Ninjutsu. Hinata and Naruko did about what was expected when it came to the substitution technique for first-year Academy students. Meanwhile the rest of the class was being the same ways. Sure some like Sasuke did better then average and some did worse, but nothing to of the average in Iruka's eyes.
Next came the leaf exercise, were the students we're tasked with putting a leaf somewhere on their body and holding it in place. Most can only manage one or two. However, Hinata for the second time that day when she successfully put five leaves on her person. One leaf was on each of her middle in index fingers, and one extra-large leaf on her forehead. Sasuke, not wanting to be out done successfully put six leaves on his body, one leaf per finger excluding his thumb's and pinky 's.
This record among with every other record at the Academy for the leaf exercise was then broken when what could be described as a walking pile of leaves stepped into the classroom. No one could identify what was inside of it until a familiar prankster's voice said, "Hinata can you give me a hand counting these leaves, I have kind of lost track when I reached over 100". Everyone's leaves fell to the ground in pure shock when they realized Naruko use the leaf exercise to become what could be described as a human bush.
Iruka was then force to ask "why do you have so many leaves on you Naruko"? The young girl then responded with, "I have tried to do one or two before, but they kept on either falling off or bouncing off me sooner or later, so I asked Hinata for advice. According to her I was using too much chakra, so I decided to try putting as many leafs as I can too help lesson my problem. To accomplish this I roll around in a pile of leaves and uses every leaf that successfully stuck on too me". Iruka then exhaled a deep breath and said, "Naruko would you settle for a 100% and some extra credit for this portion of the final, if you put those leaf back outside"? Naruko eagerly excepted Iruka's deal.
The third practical Iruka's class performed was the shadow clone technique. Their goal was to make an intangible clone of themselves with at least their outline or proportions, and then sustain it for 9 seconds. Sure it might not sound like a lot for the graduating class, but for the first year's class it was a reasonable but a slightly tricky request.
Although this exercise was difficult for one Naruko Uzumaki. When she tried to perform the same technique what could only be described as a pale, chibi, Naruko appeared beside her. Needless to say after this so-called clone vanished in five seconds, the blond knew she got the worst score in the class in this area. Thus the orange coated girl found all her glory from the previous tests disappearing and had Hinata comforting her. Luckily this funk didn't last for long when the teacher announced that the transformation technique was next on the schedule.
The transformation portion of the final's simply asked the students to transform into anyone they know as long as the person is either in the class or they had a picture of them. Their scores will simply be determined by how close the transformation was to the person in question. The students came up one at a time mostly transforming into one of their friends. Some of the notable ones were Ino and Sakura who decided to transform into each other, but accidentally forgot to change their hair and eye color into that of their friend. The most noticeable came when Kiba transformed into his puppy, and despite his transformation having a slightly spiker and darker coat then Akamaru Kiba got himself the best score. However, this didn't stop the two best friends from attempting to get bronze and silver metals.
When the two best friends' terns came they asked Iruka if they can go at the same time and he agreed. In a puff of snook the two appeared to have swapped locations. Some students started to laugh because they thought that they couldn't perform the transformation technique, but some like Iruka could tell something was off. The moment their teachers saw that Hinata was giving off Naruko's trademark confident smile, and Naruko was using Hinata's nervous/shy stance, Iruak knew the had transformed into each other.
One by one the rest of the class realize the same thing, and when they did Naruko spoke. With a voice that sound exactly like her best friend she said, "impressive right me and Hinata have been working on our Transformation technique and have been using each other as models. It took us a little while, but I think we got each other's form down pat". Hinata spoke next with a voice identical to that of Naruko, "I agree with Naruko-Chan as because not even her neighbors were able to tell I wasn't Naruko when I visit her the other day like this".
Iruka was definitely impressed with the transformation the two performed. Sure Kiba transformation into an animal less than a 1/10 his size was more impressive, but being able to get the exact likeness of someone down perfectly at their age is ridiculously rare. Even when he got a closer look he couldn't even tell there was anything out of the ordinary with her appearance if Naruto decided to walk in as Hinata. After a few more seconds of close observation on the two Iruka found only one thing off with Hinata's transformation. With his findings Iruka announced the results, "I can safely say you two have mastered the transformation technique at a basic level, and the only thing I can see that off is Hinata need to work on the exact height of her transformations. Instead of reducing the transformations height by a few inches to match Naruko's you added an few inches, but you should be able to overcome this error in no time".
Naruko then reverted back to her normal self and then the difference in height was clear to see. Naruko thanks to her not being fed properly when she was young lead the girl to become the shortest in the class, but Hinata's transformation was easily about a half an head taller than the original. The Hyuga's only response to this realization was, "sorry I look up to Naruko-Chan so I guess my transformation reflected this fact physically". Naruko quickly responded to her comment with, " it's quiet all right Hinata-Chan I look up to you too. Plus, I look good with a few more inches". The lavender eye girl then changes back in a puff of smoke with red a face. This subsequently ending the ninjutsu portion of the finals.

Next up was the genjutsu portion of the test. In Naruko eyes nothing really exciting or notable came about here. It was only a few basic question about illusions, and listing a few ways to identify one. Although, the blond mischief maker did take a note that someone in a different class, but still in their grade actually managed to perform a C-ranked Genjutsu. This was really impressive as the number of students in the entire history of the Academy able to make illusions could be counted on both hands.
The final portion soon came in the form of a athletic and taijutsu based activities. The first was a simple Sprint across the yard. Kiba came in first in this round. The guy was so happy that Naruko could've sworn he said "I might not be sleeping in the doghouse tonight".
The following activity was simply target practice. Here the star of the show was Sasuke when he successfully hit the bull's-eye three times, and demonstrated a proper grip with a kunai as if it were second nature. However, despite the cheering of his fan girls the two best friends, along with a few others could see the Uchiha wasn't happy. Naruko understood why he was like this, but she figured there was nothing she can do about it right now and remain silent.
After the target practice came a marathon like activity. The students were asked to simply run along the track and see how many laps they can do. Needless to say Naruko was getting the best score for this test in their entire grade. Even before the blonde started training with Hinata, Naruko's stamina was ridiculously good. Naruko even had to prove Iruka wasn't lying when he submitted her marathon scores once or twice.
The students either fell from exhaustion or gave up one by one, until there was only four left. The four were Kiba, Naruko, Sasuke, and Hinata, but the surprising part wasn't that it was these four remaining. The thing that made it surprising was that they last as long as they did. Hinata manage to get as far as she did thanks to constantly training with Naruko and her stamina rubbing off on the girl. The boys on the other hand were running on stubbornness. Seeing The dead last suddenly rising through the ranks was a blow to their ego the two cannot stand.
Eventually one of the 4 did fall. When Kiba finally stopped running he managed to beat his previous record by at least 6 laps. It was then simply a battle of wills between the Hyuga and Uchiha clans. When Hinata finally collapsed to the ground exhausted, Sasuke did the same only 10 steps ahead, not because Hinata fell but because he didn't have any strength to move on.
Naruko then ran back to both congratulate and give some water to Hinata and Sasuke. The Black haired boy in response said "I … have… my… own… water…". Naruko simply shrugged her shoulders and gave it to her best friend. The future clan head immediately excepted it and swallowed half the water in the bottle in one gulp.
In response to their hard work Iruka announced a break so everyone can catch their breath and prepare for the stealth test. Needless to say Naruko and Hinata use this as a opportunity to both congratulate each other on their success throughout the day. Meanwhile unbeknownst to them Sasuke was glaring at Naruko.
Eventually the stealth portion came and went. Everyone did as expect, but Iruka was forced to add in special notes for Naruko. The blonde had picked a really solid hiding place, and was actually using leaves and mud to camouflage herself. However, the fact she accidentally decided to wear a orange jacket that day, and forgot to take it off still made her easy to spot despite how much mud she put on it. Naruko's face after realizing this mistake became even brighter red than a fainting Hinata.

The final test of the day finally came, hand to hand combat. Each student for the first four rounds would randomly be put against each other. However, when everyone successfully did their fourth fight, the students will then get topic Who the fifth round opponent would be. In order to pass this particular test a student must win at least two fights and do well in at least one other fight. Although for a certain blue and lavender a eye girls they were going for a 5 and o.
After a little while our two heroes we're showing the fruits of their labor with impressive victories. Hinata had successfully taken down Sakura in 5 seconds and Ino did slightly better but fell. The boys were no different when Hinata managed to handley take down Shino.
Naruko was on a similar winning streak. The foxy girl had over powered Ami, and out skilled Choji in their matches'. However, when Kiba was selected for her third opponent Naruko had met her match.
Kiba was showing why he was easily one of the fastest in their class, and even had a positive win record against everyone in the class with the exception of Sasuke in hand to hand combat. Although, Hinata has been closing the gap in recent times. So needless to say it was astonishing that Naruko and Kiba had been at a stalemate for the past few minutes.
Kiba definitely had superior skill, speed and strength among the two fighters. However, thanks to the blonde's training with her friend, Naruko was able to react, block, and counter the majority of Kiba's attacks. On the flipside Naruko was only able to go on the offensive when Kiba overextended himself during an attack, or let's his guard down. Although, after Naruko first forward, frontal assault, Kiba's advantages were on full display when he managed to land two powerful hits on her. The blond hasn't made the same mistake twice. All this resulted in a stalemate between the two in the first few minutes of the fight, and left the two of them circling each other waiting for the perfect opportunity to win the fight.
Kiba knew at the rate the battle was going Naruko's chances we're only going up. Naruko's stamina advantage was ridiculous, to the point she could afford both to take a few hits, and drag out the fight for as long as she needs to for him to get exhausted or make a mistake. With a loud cry the dog boy of the class decided to put everything he had into one final charge.
Kiba's attacks were like a wild animal powerful, natural, unforgiving, and unpredictable, but simple in their movements. Sure Naruko was landing a few hits in, but that barely deterred her opponent as his offensive refused to stop until he won the fight. Naruko thought her best option was to forfeit the match until a muse and Lady luck decided to give the girl a hand. Naruko wrap one of Kiba's arms into her left twin tail to both disrupt his assault and give herself an opening. Pulling hard on her hair with one hand Kiba's fighting stance was completely messed up and Naruko was able to land the most devastating blow of the fight on Kiba.
The boy was left huffing, sweating, and standing so Naruko charged forward. Exhaustion had set in and Kiba movements became slower and sloppy. Naruko attacks were like a flowing river gentle, powerful, and relentless. With one last blow to the stomach Kiba was knocked down and finally admitted defeat.
Naruko walked forward and congratulated Kiba for the hard fought battle. Kiba Chris fully excepted her words and said "You definitely deserve the win Naruko, but you can count on me winning the next one". Naruko simply gave the boy a smile and said "I wouldn't have it any other way. Kiba simply gave her a smile and gave a two finger shinobi shake before joining the rest of the class.
Hinata was ready she congratulates her friend after her hard fight, but before she could Iruka called her name and she was forced into the ring before she had time to get her words out. The Hyuga figured she just needed to end the fight quickly, so she could congratulate Naruko. The one problem was Hinata didn't want to harm Choji to badly. He was one of the kindest kids in class, and the boy had a similar view about Hinata.
Seeing the reluctant in the two kid Iruka offered a solution, " I suppose we could Sibley determine the winner by ring out, how does that sound"? The two kids gave a simple nod and they began. However, when Hinata suddenly appeared in front of Choji half of the class knew the Hyuga had it in the bag.
With a rapid succession of blows Choji was constantly being forced back. However, when the hefty Kid saw he was quickly approaching the edge Choji attempted to land a powerful punch to force Hinata back. The girl in response simply sidestep the attack, and used his failed punch as an opening for a powerful palm strike, in the stomach that sent him flying out of bounds.
Iruka then called the match, but instead of going to her whiskered companion Hinata ran to see if Choji was ok. When Choji Saw Hinata was staring at him the heaviest kid in class responded with, "no worries Hinata I'm ok, but I was seeing drumsticks flying around me for few seconds their". Hinata then took a closer look at her classmate to make sure he was fine. Eventually Hinata gave Choji the unison sign and helped him to his feet, before walking on to meet with Naruko.
When the two girls finally reunited they started speaking in unison. " you were totally awesome out there! That finishing blow was amazing! Yet despite how cool your fights were you still gave your opponent respect". The girls then laughed realizing they were talking in sink. However, the two began to congratulate and praise each other until their next and final match.
Naruko four match some came and as if the fate willed it to happen her opponent so happens to be Sasuke. Naruko could only grin when the opportunity to get a win agents Sasuke came. However, when the girl got close Naruko could tell the boy wasn't going to hold anything back in their brawl. To Naruko Uzumaki she wouldn't have it any other way, not realizing Sasuke Uchiha was going into the fight with red in his eyes.
