Chapter 2

It was coronation day, and Wolfgang was having a blast at the party. He smiled as he drank a glass of wine and chatted with the new queen.

"I hear I have you to thank for saving my sister."

"Yes, Your Majesty… the delegation is tracking down her attacker. If he's working for someone, we'll find out who."

"How was the war with Wesselton?"

"We won… after I roasted half the country. I got angry and now it's a volcanic hellscape. I built a palace there out of fire and brimstone to celebrate."

"Glad you're after an alliance," said Elsa with a chuckle. "So you have powers?"

Wolfgang smiled. "I do."

"Let's say I knew someone who needed help controlling theirs… what advice would you give them?"

"Be cool," said Wolfgang slowly. "Don't fear yourself. Magic is governed by emotions; unstable heart, unstable magic." He sipped his wine. "That's my word, anyway. Like my father taught me. Why? Does someone need some magic lessons?"

"Something like that."

Wolfgang smiled again. "Tell them what I told you. If they need more advice, I'm right here."

Anna smiled as she walked over, handing a glass of champagne to her sister. As they drank, the three chatted about how Elsa would run her kingdom.

"I'm thinking I'll tax the nobility. They might not like it, but it'll relieve the poor of some of their tax burden."

"Sounds great," said Wolfgang, "but reforms need to be done over time so that people can get used to them. My great grandfather, Erik the Eager, tried to enact all of his plans at once. He was assassinated because of it."

Anna sighed. "I need a refill," she muttered. She turned, and a shot rang out.

Elsa gasped as Anna collapsed into Wolfgang's arms amid the screams of those present.

Wolfgang cradled the princess in his arms as he noticed blood spreading across Anna's chest.

"I'm gonna cauterize it," he muttered.

Anna just nodded.

"Oh my God!" Elsa gasped… "Anna! Is… is she okay?!"

"She'll be just fine," said Kai reassuringly.

Elsa whimpered. "She doesn't look okay!"

"Anna… Anna!" Wolfgang shook her gently. "Hey…". He stroked her cheek. "Don't fain sweetheart… you can't fall asleep, okay? Don't do that."

"Control it…" Elsa murmured. "Come on…"

Wolfgang gently picked Anna up, carrying her away as Elsa shook her head vigorously.

"No…" she whimpered. She trembled, unable to hold back anymore. "Nooooo!"

There was a rush of cold wind. Icicles formed on the ceiling.

Elsa gasped as she ran outside.

Arendelle was frozen over… in the middle of summer.

She had to break the spell… but how? She did the only thing she could do… she ran.
