AN: Thank you everyone who's commented and followed this story! I'm so glad you guys seem to like it! Also, I've never been pregnant or been to a prenatal appointment so I'm googling a lot and making some stuff up. So, be warned.

That being said, on with the show!

Two weeks later Rory and Logan were sitting in the waiting room of Paris' clinic. Once Paris got wind of Rory's pregnancy, she refused to let her go somewhere else to receive prenatal care. Rory wasn't worried about the appointment or seeing Paris, she had dealt with Paris enough times to be relatively confident about predicting how the conversation and the appointment would go.

Logan, on the other hand, was fidgeting in his seat, and couldn't focus on anything long enough to relax. "Logan, you've got to relax," Rory said with a chuckle. "I can guarantee that this one won't be nearly as uncomfortable as the first one, they won't have to stick the wand up this time," Rory said jokingly.

"Up?" Logan said confused.

"Up." Rory gestured, hoping that would help.

"UP!" Logan yelped which just made Rory burst out laughing.

Before Logan could say anything else a nurse came out and called Rory back. They ran some tests then showed her to a private exam room where Paris would meet them and do the ultrasound.

As they waited for Paris to come into the room Rory got increasingly agitated while Logan did his best to calm her down. "It's going to be fine, Ace."

"This is Paris we're talking about. The woman is going to rake me over the coals for not telling her I was pregnant, then castrate you for getting me pregnant, and to top it all off she'll wonder if I was having such a hard time finding a man that I went back to you to give me a baby when she'd happily help me out and I'd be able to leave all the man-whores out of it." Rory said, becoming slightly more hysterical as she went on.

"Man-whores?" Logan said with a chuckle. "As in plural? Holding out on me Ace?"

"No." Rory rolled her eyes and kept talking. "Doyle moved out to California over a year ago, and Paris found out that he had been having an affair. Paris filed for divorce a few weeks later and has since decided that all men are man-whores who can't keep it in their pants and that they're useless for anything other than baby-making."

"Wow," Logan said stunned. "I can't believe Doyle had an affair."

"I know. I hoped they'd work it out."

"Well, at least we know Paris hasn't changed," Logan said awkwardly.

Rory scoffed at Logan's odd reaction. "Be nice! Her marriage fell apart and she's going through a rough patch. If she wants to take it out on you, let her."

"I'll be nice, and when she threatens to castrate me so we can't have any more kids, I won't bat an eye," Logan said with a smirk.

"That's all I ask." Rory paused as she processed Logan's entire sentence. "You want more kids?"

Logan stared at Rory baffled before he realized what he'd suggested. "Well, yeah. Honour and I were close growing up, despite our age difference, and we still are close. I always imagined that even if my family were a disaster, my kids would have each other if nothing else."

Rory had a pained expression on her face as she looked at Logan. "You know our family won't be like that, right?"

"No, I know," Logan said calmly. "I do like the idea of having more kids though."

Rory smiled up at him before speaking. "Me too."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I was always a little lonely growing up, and I would have loved to have a sibling around. But can we hold off on planning for number two until after we deal with number one, and maybe get married too."

Logan scoffed in amazement. "Anything you want, Ace."

Before anything else could be said Paris came barreling into the room.

"Huntzberger!? Really, Rory? If you wanted a baby so bad you could have come to me and I would have fertilized you, then we could leave the man-whores out of it!"

"Hi, Paris, nice to see you too," Logan said with a smile.

"No ones talking to you," Paris said dismissively. "Leaving your unfortunate choice of sperm donors aside, why didn't you come to me sooner? I am much more capable than whatever roadside shack you were getting your prenatal care at before."

"It's nice to see you Paris," Rory said with a laugh.

"Yes, yes, hi, how are you, I'm fine, the kids are good, they're getting used to flying with the nanny, the practice is fine, why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?"

"I wanted to sort my life out before you could give me a lecture."

"And did you?"

"I'm starting too. I got a job at the Brooklyn Daily Post as the Opinions editor, I've moved into my own place in Brooklyn and I'm starting to use my inheritance a little bit." Paris raised her eyebrows at that last comment. "It's for practical purchases only, I used it on my condo and on my new car."

"Thank god you got rid of that car! I was convinced it was going to fall apart from underneath you one of these days."

"That seemed to be a common concern."

Paris flipped through the file she was holding quickly before speaking again. "How's your nausea?" Then she turned to Logan, "Her urge to vomit." She placated. Logan opened his mouth to object but decided against it when he saw Rory's glare.

"It's better than it was but I thought it'd go away by now."

"Still throwing up then?" Rory nodded her head and Paris bustled over and pushed Rory back gently, so she was laying on the table while she set up the ultrasound.

"You can leave now," Paris said to Logan without looking up.

"I'm not leaving. This is my family and I deserve to know what is going on." Logan said sharply.

"We don't need you here. Sperm-donors wait in the waiting room."

"Paris!" Rory yelped before Logan could go completely ballistic. "I know you hate all men, but I like this one and he stays or we both leave." Logan grinned triumphantly well Paris just looked pissed off.

"Fine," Paris grumbled. Logan happily perched himself next to Rory's head while Paris muttered about something that sounded like man-whores, sperm-donors, and useless pigs.

Paris had been moving the wand around Rory's stomach for a few minutes while Logan and Rory just watched the screen, suddenly Paris let out a whoop. "Yes! Of course, I was right, I'm always right. I can't believe those imbecile's in Connecticut didn't catch it. I mean am I the only competent gynecologist on the east coast?"

Rory quickly caught Logan's increasing panic and took control, knowing that Paris tended to miss the point when showing someone up. "What didn't they catch Paris?" Rory said though she was experiencing a type of hysteria she didn't realize was possible.

Paris readjusted the screen so the two panicking parents could see it properly. "That's baby A," Paris pointed at the screen. Rory barely had a chance to smile before the screen shifted a bit and showed a baby head on the opposite side. "And that's baby B."

Rory and Logan gaped at Paris as if she had just grown a second head. "I'm sorry, what?" Logan eventually asked.

"Congratulations Huntzberger, you managed to knock her up twice in one go."

That seemed to snap Rory out of her stupor, and she looked at Paris. "Two?"

"Two."

"Wait," Logan interjected "You suspected there were two earlier and you went looking for it? How did you know?"

"Congratulations, you aren't the biggest moron ever. There might be hope for you yet Huntzberger."

"Paris," Rory scolded.

"Fine. Your hCG levels were high for this point in the pregnancy, between that, your weight and the fact that you're morning sickness hasn't gone away made me look for another baby. Sometimes hCG can just be high but it can mean that there are multiple babies." At that moment, Paris remembered her bedside manner training, the only course she ever had trouble with, and spoke a little more gently. "I'm going to give you two a minute to make sure my assistants haven't destroyed the place." She moved the wand around a bit so they could see both babies and froze the frame before slipping out of the room.

The two stunned parents-to-be stared at the image that clearly showed to babies. Rory was lost in an internal melt-down until Logan suddenly spoke. "I guess we'll need another bassinet."

Rory whipped her head around in shock before she burst out laughing. "Ace?" Logan asked concerned.

"We're going to need more than just another bassinet!" Rory said through her giggles. "I guess that conversation about waiting to have another baby wasn't necessary."

Logan smirked at Rory, stunned at the entire situation. "I guess not."

Rory calmed down then and looked at Logan with a serious expression. "We can do this, right?" She said nervously.

"Oh, Ace." Logan stood up so he could give her a proper hug. "It's going to be fine." Logan dropped a kiss on the top of her head.

When Rory felt she was in control once again she moved so she could look properly at the image on the ultrasound machine. "Our kids," Rory said with a smile. A few minutes passed where Rory looked at the image with a serene look that Logan hadn't seen since before Richard died.

Neither said anything more until Paris came barreling back into the exam room. "Lay back we're not done yet."

Rory laid back down on the table ad Logan rolled his eyes at Paris. "Do you guys want to know the genders?"

Rory and Logan glanced at each other quickly and Logan shrugged his shoulders indicating that it was Rory's decision. Rory turned to address Paris, "I'd like to know. I don't think I can handle another surprise with these two just yet." Rory said with a fond smile.

"I'm glad you have some sense. I don't understand why some women don't want to know, the only people I know who enjoy being completely unprepared are idiots who go to state school."

"Paris, those are your patients." Rory admonished.

"They married well and make me money; it doesn't mean I think they're smart." Rory sighed, knowing she wasn't going to get through to Paris as she readjusted the scan again.

"Ok," Paris said, slipping back into professional mode, "That one is a girl," Paris said pointing at one baby. "And that one is a boy." She said pointing to the other.

"Wow," Rory said with a grin while Logan looked a little pale.

"Damn," Paris barked. "I was hoping for two girls, wouldn't that be karmic retribution huh Huntzberger." Paris laughed, then noticed Logan was starting to sway a little. "Don't even think about passing out! I have no patience for fainting fathers." Logan seemed to snap out of his mental spiral and glared at Paris.

"I'm fine. How are they? You haven't said anything." Rory got wide-eyed and looked at Paris desperately.

"Thanks, Huntzberger. I was getting to that; I was just trying to avoid freaking out my friend." Paris said with a glare. She pushed a few buttons on the machine and a whooshing noise filled the room. Rory grinned knowing that the sound was her baby's heartbeats. Rory looked at Logan to see that he was completely amazed by the sound. "Those are our babies," Logan whispered. "Our babies," Rory responded tearily.

"Anyway," Paris bellowed, interrupting the two. "Everything's fine. They're a little small but that happens with twins so I'm not worried. You on the other hand need to eat better and need to find a way to relax." Logan turned to Rory and raised his eyebrows, asking her if Paris was serious, Rory just shook her head and turned her attention back to Paris. "I know that you and your mother think your immune to all the health problems that can be caused by your diet but that's not true. Especially now. I never thought I'd have to explain this to you, of all people, but you seem to be having an airhead moment, so I'm going to spell it out for you."

"Paris-" Rory tried to interject.

"Pregnancy is hard on the body and even harder with multiples. Your anemic and your blood pressure is also higher than I'd like. You need to eat better; this will help manage your blood pressure and anemia. Take this supplement once a day to increase your iron and we'll avoid all the complications from leaving that untreated. It's not worrisome right now, but if you try to stay calm and eat like an actual human and not a talking garbage can, we might be able to avoid hypertension or preeclampsia."

"Anything else, Paris?" Rory said a little dumbfounded.

"We'll watch you more carefully then we were planning because a whole host of things can go wrong with twins, preterm delivery is almost certain, so now is not the time to slip into another Jack Kerouac episode. Now, leave before I start plotting ways to castrate limo boy."

A few days later Rory was standing in the middle of Macy's, trying to ignore the impulse to go into the children's section. She had been wandering around, trying to keep up with Steph and trying to remember where Lane had gotten to when she saw a display of cribs and she remembered how Paris had said that the babies were likely going to come early and absolutely nothing was done. From there she started thinking about how she was going to get two cribs set up in the small second bedroom in her apartment and all the other things the babies were going to need. She knew that Logan wanted to be involved with everything and she wanted that too, but she kept spiralling into an irrational panic that if she didn't get everything ready that minute there would be some type of disaster.

Honour and Lane were walking through the store when they spotted Rory staring at the baby section.

"Rory?"

"What's going on?"

Rory whipped around when she heard someone speak to her, once she realized who it was, she started freaking out. "Paris said that the babies were going to come early, and we aren't ready! We don't even have a crib, let alone everything else they're going to need and I didn't know nursery's needed themes and all I want to do is go in there and buy everything that could remotely be useful and Logan's not here to help me! He'd want to be here to help me, and I want that too but it's taking every ounce of willpower I have to not ignore Logan completely and barge in there." Rory had started sobbing at some point during her rant and both women just smiled understandingly, and both hugged her.

"Rory," Lane said calmly. "First of all, take a breath. The babies aren't coming tomorrow, you do have time to prepare and make all your lists."

"A list! Why didn't I think of that?" Rory yelped, she started digging in her purse to find the notepad that she always carried around.

"Baby brain?" Honour asked with a knowing smirk.

"Big time. Mixed with a minor panic attack." Lane replied before turning her attention back to Rory.

"Rory," Rory looked back up at Lane, foregoing her search for her notepad. "Second of all, nursery's don't need to have themes, but they do make planning easier, and you love to plan." Rory seemed to relax at the idea of planning and organization. Lane just smirked at her meticulous and neurotic friend. "Third of all, you can go in and look if you like, you can even buy something."

"I don't know. I mean, Logan-"

"Doesn't mind," Honour interjected. "I texted him and he said that while he wants to be involved with bigger decisions, you can buy whatever you like. Just send pictures."

"What?"

"Here," Honour said, handing Rory her phone.

Honour – Rory's nesting instinct just kicked into overdrive in Macy's.

Logan – Oh boy.

Honour – Yeah. She's freaking out and she wants to start getting the nursery ready but doesn't want to do anything without you here.

Logan – Tell her that she can buy whatever she wants. I want to be involved in the bigger decisions but other than that she can do what she likes.

Logan – SEND PICTURES

Honour – Don't worry little brother, I'll send pictures.

Rory laughed at the exchange between the siblings before handing the phone back to Honour. Even though Rory had Logan's blessing to go look at the nursey options she still hesitated, eventually Lane interfered and dragged her into the department.

Rory wandered through making a mental list of the different things she would need. She nearly made it out of the department when she spotted two, matching crib sets with cartoon woodland animals on them. One set in pink and grey, while the other was green and brown. She stood there, rubbing her fingers over the matching quilts and decided to give in to the urge and decided to buy them.

"Those are really cute, Rory," Honour said with a knowing smile. Rory suspected that Honour sent Logan a picture of the crib sets and he said something similar.

"I could barely function trying to get stuff for the boys, I couldn't imagine trying to get stuff for a boy and a girl," Lane commented. "Those are perfect. Plus, you have a valid excuse to avoid superhero's and trucks for now."

Honour just snorted before leading them to the checkout.

Five minutes later Steph bounded up to them carrying ten massive shopping bags. "There you guys are! Come on, I want to head to Saks again and I want to take Rory to A Pea in a Pod. I am determined to upgrade your wardrobe, so it matches your social status." Steph bounced away and Rory sighed in exhaustion.

"Rory, she's right." Honour chimed in, noticing Rory's exhausted expression. "There's nothing wrong with your wardrobe if you're running around your hometown or chasing your kids, but you are a New York businesswoman now, and you're the partner of the CEO of a massive, well-known company, you're also a part of the social elite in your own right, consider dressing the part."

Rory thought about what Honour said and considered it. She knew Honour was right, she had to stop acting and behaving like she was still living in Stars Hollow, it was time to grow out of being the small-town girl and be the businesswoman that she was. It then occurred to her that she wasn't just a businesswoman, she was also marrying into one of the richest and oldest families in Hartford, she also came from a family that was as old and nearly as rich, it was time to embrace it instead of behaving like she was a farm girl from the sticks.

"Alright, I'll go. But I reserve the right to buy my comfortable, stay at home clothes from the Gap."

Honour laughed and led Rory in the direction Stephanie went, "I think we can make that work."

"It sounds like you guys have a few issues that we need to work through here." Dr. McGuire, the couple's counsellor Logan and Rory had agreed to see, said after hearing about their history. "Since you're a little different in the sense that you two aren't trying to repair something that's broken and you're trying to solve your issues ahead of time, what do you think your issues are?"

There were a few beats of awkward silence before Logan spoke. "We clearly have some communication issues."

"Ok, good. Rory, do you have anything to add to that?"

Rory looked between Logan and Dr. McGuire before speaking. "Neither of us talks about what we want, he didn't talk to me about how he wanted to get married after college then just sprung it on me, I never told him what I saw for our future; then we never discussed how we really felt during our affair." Rory took a deep breath before speaking again, they hadn't referred to their 'Vegas agreement' as an affair before Dr. McGuire forced them too. "We've always had trust issues, and this made it worse."

"You didn't trust me?" Logan said, a mixture of anger and hurt. "You weren't so easy to trust either," Logan said, building up steam. Rory knew he had a point and decided not to argue her side until he finished his rant. "Every time things got hard, you'd run back to your mother, who was always waiting for me to screw up so she could show you how horrible I was. I wanted the whole thing, the marriage, the kids, the white picket fence and the dog with you, but I couldn't trust that you'd stick around long enough to think about it." Logan took a few breaths before speaking again. "I'm sorry, but you aren't the only one who has trust issues here."

"You're right," Rory said after a beat of silence. "I run, I think we both do and that's another one of our issues. But no, in the beginning, I didn't trust you, and any trust I had in you was wiped away in the last three years. I was always afraid that something would happen and you'd sleep with another girl. You'd gone from having a girl in your bed every night, a new girl every few days, to being in an actual relationship, I kept waiting for the day that you came home to tell me you screwed some socialite at an event I couldn't go to. Then that's what happened! Then I kept waiting for you to do the same thing while you were in London, you never did but I thought you would."

"I made one mistake ten years ago and you're still holding it against me? You can't do that." Logan shifted to look at Dr. McGuire, "How do I know that she won't take off the minute things get hard?"

Dr. McGuire just smiled sympathetically, "You don't. Not really." She shifted to speak to Rory. "Just like you don't know that he won't break your trust as well, but you have to hope that your love for each other is strong enough to trust that you'll be able to deal with whatever comes along." Dr. McGuire looked between the two, trying to gauge how they were feeling about the situation. "Those are the types of issues we're going to work on here."

Logan and Rory both looked at each other with a mix of apprehension and hope, they knew that this wasn't going to be easy but they knew that they needed to sort through their issues if they wanted a real shot at the type of future that they both wanted.

Rory was driving through Stars Hollow on her way to her mother's house to meet her before the town festival. The appointment with the therapist had run longer then she anticipated, and she wasn't sure she'd make it on time. She sighed in relief when she finally pulled into the driveway, while Lorelai was known for always running late Rory was known for being punctual, the stories about how she'd lie to her mom about when school would start so they'd get there on time were legendary. Rory knew that Lorelai would immediately notice that she was late and would surely hound her for it, though ironically Lorelai couldn't get herself anywhere on time if her life depended on it.

Rory braced herself for the oncoming assault and climbed out of her SUV. She took a look at the car and sighed, she knew her mom would take issue with the car, that was the reason why she didn't correct Lorelai at Christmas. She straightened her clothes which had wrinkled after the two-hour drive. While her clothes weren't obviously high end, or out of place in Stars Hollow, she knew Lorelai would pick up on the new wardrobe and add it to her arsenal.

Before Rory could do anything, Lorelai came racing out of the house, and nearly tackled Rory over but calmed down before they could fall over. "Rory! You were late, and you're never late! I was starting to worry Scotty had beamed you somewhere without cell reception!"

Rory couldn't help but laugh at her mother. "No, I avoided all Transporters, but I did get caught in couples counselling," Rory said nervously. She figured slipping it in like that would be the best method.

"Are you and Logan not happy?" Lorelai said, clearly happier than she should be. "You know if things aren't going the way you expected you can move back home. Everyone would be thrilled to have you back, and Andrew is still looking for someone to buy the store."

"Mom!" Rory yelped stopping Lorelai's rant. "Everything's fine with me and Logan. We're happy and in case you forgot, my job, that I like quite a bit is in New York, so even if we weren't, I wouldn't be moving back to Stars Hollow." Rory said firmly.

"Oh," Lorelai said sadly. "Then why were you in counselling?"

"Logan and I have a lot of baggage and a lot of messy history, but we want to be together despite all of that. So, we thought it would be a good idea to try and deal with some of our issues now instead of waiting until there's a problem. We're hoping it'll give us a real shot at having the type of relationship and marriage we both want."

Lorelai simply glared in response, not liking the fact that Rory was really trying to have a long term, adult relationship with a man she hated. She was about to argue with Rory when she saw the luxury SUV parked in her driveway "What's that?" Lorelai snapped as she gestured to the car.

"It's a car," Rory said calmly. Logan hadn't wanted her to go to the town festival, convinced Rory would get agitated in a way that would be bad for her or the babies. He only relented when she promised to do her best to stay calm.

"But it's not your car. What, would Logan not let you drive your Prius? Didn't want his girlfriend driving in something as plebeian as a Toyota?"

"No mom. It's my car." Rory took a breath, desperately trying not to get to worked up. "Mom, I'm 17 weeks pregnant, can we please have this conversation inside where there are chairs, and somewhere for me to pee?" Rory interjected, ignoring the fact that Lorelai was seething and on the verge of exploding.

Lorelai just scowled and marched into the house, leaving Rory to follow along behind. Once inside Rory made a quick dash for the washroom, but when she came out, she found Lorelai sitting at the kitchen table with two cups of coffee. Rory just sighed and sat down, before she could do anything Lorelai launched into a tirade. "What do you mean that's your car? You don't drive cars like that, you always thought that driving high-end vehicles was a waste of money and that only rich snobs drove cars like that!"

"I needed a new car mom, and it's not like I bought a Lamborghini or a Porsche. My old car wasn't safe and I needed the space. But you're right," Lorelai perked up at that, but Rory continued before she could speak. "I used to think it was a waste of money but it's a good vehicle, and I didn't need to find the cheapest option available, so I upgraded."

"C'mon Rory, Gypsy could have fixed it," Lorelai said pleadingly. "Rory, this isn't you! You don't drive expensive cars and you don't dress like a society wife!" Rory glanced down at her clothes confused, she wasn't dressed like a society wife by any stretch, though she wasn't shopping off the clearance rack either.

"My old car wasn't safe to drive anymore, and I refuse to put my children in danger. I was spending more money keeping it going then it was worth, and don't give me crap about buying designer clothes. When you got that money from grandpa before I started Yale you added up how many pairs of Jimmy Choo's you could buy with the money. Those shoes cost over six hundred bucks a pair, so don't get all high and mighty and say you always shop cheap. It's not like by buying a new car and getting better quality clothes I'm turning into grandma!" Rory said heatedly.

"You might as well be! Next, you'll quit your job to be a full-time wife and socialite! You're turning into the type of woman that Logan and his family have always truly wanted!" Lorelai screeched.

"I'm not going to quit my job mom, and I'm not turning into a vapid society wife. I happen to like my job and since Logan got it for me, he'll be fine with me working. He likes that I'm not a vapid socialite and that I care about more than my social standing. Logan's never wanted a trophy wife or the type of life you're convinced he wants. He wants me, the real me, not some woman his mother would approve of." Rory sighed in exhaustion and took the untouched cup of coffee and dumped it down the sink. "What the hell, Rory?" Lorelai yelled.

"I can't drink that much coffee anymore, mom."

"What do you mean? I did it and we're both fine. The Gilmore Girls have never followed the rules for this type of stuff." Lorelai said jokingly.

"Well, I'm not fine!" Rory yelped, finally snapping. She took a deep breath to calm down before continuing. "In case you forgot, I'm pregnant, so I can't drink that much coffee anymore, and the baby seems to hate it. Also, I went to the doctor the other day and found out I'm anemic. I don't have enough iron in my blood and the type of food you're insisting I eat would make everything worse, and coffee would just make that worse. Not to mention my high blood pressure. It's not so bad that they want to put me on medication or anything, but I was given strict instructions to eat better."

"Rory-I-uh" Lorelai stammered, not knowing what to say.

"I'm fine, mostly, I just can't eat tater tots on my pizza anymore." Lorelai sat there and just gaped at Rory, she had no idea how to respond so she just glared into her mug.

"Mom?" Rory asked when Lorelai didn't speak up.

"Look, Rory, I just don't get it. I was fine during my pregnancy. I ate whatever I wanted, I drank as much coffee as I wanted, and nothing happened. You would think I would've had high blood pressure with President Snow marching around, but I was healthy as a horse. You should have been completely fine, you're my mini-me! We're practically identical and this should have been no different."

Rory just sighed knowing Lorelai wasn't going to let it go. "We aren't exactly the same mom. We may look alike and behave similarly, but we're different people and have different personalities. We don't do the same things, I found a real home for my family, unlike some people I know." Rory uttered the last statement under her breath, hoping that Lorelai wouldn't hear, but knowing that wasn't going to happen.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lorelai shrieked.

"What's the real story behind the potting shed?" Rory demanded.

"What? You know the story. I cane to Stars Hollow to get away from my mom and found a job at the inn, Mia let us live in the shed until I could afford somewhere to live." Lorelai said baffled.

"Mom, it doesn't make any sense. You were a teen mom who ran away from home. I don't understand why you didn't ask for help."

"We didn't need it, all we needed was each other."

"Mom, this is Stars Hollow, someone surely offered you a real place to stay. Were you trying to prove a point to Grandma and Grandpa?"

"Rory you know this! I couldn't deal with their expectations anymore so I left, I needed to prove to them that I could do it on my own, that I didn't need them or anyone else!"

"But mom," Rory said resigned, "Wouldn't raising your child somewhere with running water and insulation be more important than proving a point? Sure, you didn't want to stay with Grandma and Grandpa, I get that, but why not stay with someone?" Rory took a sip of the juice she managed to find then kept talking. "I remember once waking up during a bad storm in the middle of winter and thinking that it would've been nice to be at the big warm house in Hartford, where no one has to sleep in their winter hats. No matter what you think of how I'm spending my money, I'll sleep peacefully knowing I'll never need to have my children sleep in their winter gear because I'm too stubborn to ask for help." Rory started pulling on her coat, that she had removed at some point, and turned back to Lorelai, "You know a sign of maturity is knowing when to ask for help." Rory said sadly and left, knowing that she didn't want to stick around for Mount Lorelai to blow again.

Lorelai sat and stared where her daughter had been standing thinking for the first time that maybe she had made the wrong decision when she left Hartford that fateful day.
