My Brother's Best Friend
A story by Government Patsy
Chapter 10
Dana POV
After we come home from the getaway to the cabin things get a little hectic. Monday afternoon Mulder flies off to DC to assist on a case and when I wake up Friday morning he still hasn't returned home. The casual BBQ at my parents' house is Saturday afternoon and Mulder and I were finally going to tell my family about us… but it doesn't seem like that will happen now. As nervous as I've been about this I was really looking forward to finally being out to the world. I love Mulder so much and every day that I have to hide that is beginning to get on my nerves. I work as much as I can at the coffee shop so I keep fairly busy. But I miss Mulder so much. Spending the whole extended weekend together had been so perfect. I still can't believe that he proposed to me. I keep the ring in a desk drawer in the guest room/office at Mulder and Bill's apartment where I'm staying. But sometimes when I'm home alone… I'll put it on and it puts a smile on my face.
I'm just about to turn into bed Friday evening when Mulder sends me a message, letting me know that he's finally on a plane home since they wrapped up the case, finally. I get so excited at the prospect of seeing him again. Bill isn't home so I go to bed in Mulder's bedroom to wait for him. It's a long flight home and it's the middle of the night when I finally wake up to Mulder's sweet kisses on my face. He tells me to go back to sleep but I don't. I need him too much. We don't share many words as we make love and finally fall asleep in each other's arms.
I don't have a shift Saturday so I sleep in with Mulder. It's almost 9 AM when I finally stir from my slumber and stretch with Mulder's arm securely around me. I detangle myself from him and get out of bed. I pick up my panties from the floor and step into them. I pick up something white from the floor too, Mulder's dress shirt. I put it on and button a few buttons before heading to the bathroom to do my business. After peeing, washing up and brushing my teeth I head back into the bedroom to find Mulder down by his working out setup, benching quite a bit of weight in just white boxers. I notice that he's still got a little morning wood.
"Seriously, Mulder?" I chuckle at him. "Lifting iron with wood?"
"Funny!" he exclaims excitedly, placing the weights back on the rack above his head and sitting up. "I couldn't work out all week! Do you mind if I get a quick session in?"
"Not at all," I smile at him. "I'll make us some breakfast."
"You're too good to me!" he smiles up at me, beaming.
I just shrug as I smile back at him - looking like a fool in love as much as he just did.
I make some pancakes and cut out some fruit for our breakfast. I also poach a few eggs and toast some whole wheat bread for Mulder - he needs more food than me, especially protein.
I bring our plates up to the bedroom on a tray along with some orange juice. Mulder is doing some pull-ups as I walk in, his abs glistening with a sheen of sweat. He looks so fucking sexy. I put the tray down on the end of the bed and sit down next to it, crossing my legs to dull the throbbing there.
"That looks delicious!" he tells me, doing another pull-up with ease - his semi pointing right at me.
"So do you," I smirk at him.
"Mmmh, fuck," he sighs, his pull-up flow halting as his erection visibly grows.
"Are you done soon?" I ask him slightly impatient, tightening my crossed legs as my clit is aching painfully.
He lets go of the bar over his head and lands elegantly on his feet. I stand up and pick up the tray from the bed, placing it on the nightstand. As I turn around Mulder is right behind me. He reaches down and picks me up and I go willingly, crossing my legs behind his back, my arms around his neck as we finally kiss.
"Mmmh," I can't help but moan into his mouth as I grind against him.
"You're so unbelievably hot, Dana," he whispers in a moan as he lowers me down on the bed, pinning my arms down as he grinds against me, kissing my neck.
"I love how hard you are for me," I tell him in a moan.
He responds by groaning against my neck, sucking on my skin there, his hands interlacing with my own over my head as his hard cock rubs against my wet panties, stimulating my throbbing clit.
"What the fuck is this?" Bill's angry voice breaks us out of our reverie.
Everything grows quiet as Mulder and I look to our side. He's seething with anger. His eyes seem to be on fire. But he also looks… slightly heartbroken and hurt.
"Bill!" Mulder exclaims, quickly letting go of my hands and stumbling to his feet as I sit up and pull Mulder's shirt tighter around my body.
Bill looks over to me and he's taking in my presence… I'm wearing Mulder's shirt from yesterday… he knows we must have spent the night together already. The realisation on his face makes him look straight back to Mulder, his eyes shooting daggers at his best friend.
"Bill, it's not what it looks like!" Mulder says holding up his hands in defense.
Unfortunately this means that Bill has a pretty clear view of the tent in Mulder's boxers… and it doesn't leave much to the imagination.
"You've fucked my sister!" he whispers through clenched teeth, taking a few steps into the room in the direction of Mulder.
"We were gonna tell you!" Mulder exclaims, taking a step back. "I love her!"
Bill stops in his tracks, his eyes widening a little bit, clearly taken back. He looks over to me and I nod my head. I can feel how flustered my whole face is. I've never been this embarrassed and scared at the same time before.
"You… you love him?" Bill asks me - I look over to Mulder and then back to Bill as I nod my head.
"Oh, fuck!" Bill's focus shifts back to Mulder and he looks beyond angry. "You made her fall in love with you?!"
Before I know what's happening Bill's fist connects with Mulder's face.
"Bill!" I exclaim in horror, jumping out of bed to pull Bill's arm back before he can hit Mulder a second time.
"Dude!" Mulder says pissed off, his hand cupping his face as he tries to shield himself from my brother.
"You fucking promised me!" Bill roars. "I trusted you!"
"Bill, I've always been in love with Mulder!" I tell him exhaustedly. "It doesn't have anything to do with you!"
"Dana, he's taking advantage of you!" he seethes. "Obviously you love him if you're… willing to… to sleep with him! But Mulder isn't like you!"
"Bill, please!" Mulder pleads with his best friend of seven years. "Let me explain!"
"There's nothing to explain," Bill quickly retorts, taking a step back as he looks at Mulder with disdain. "My father was right about you!"
Mulder's mouth opens but no sound comes out. His eyes are filled with anger which is quickly replaced with deep hurt. Before he can say anything, Bill's left the room. We hear the door slam downstairs, meaning that Bill has left the apartment.
"Mulder," I whisper, my hands reaching out for his forearm.
He meets my gaze and I see the tears forming in his beautiful green eyes.
"Oh, Mulder," I sigh and pull him into my arms as I back up and sit down on the bed, his face in the crook of my neck as a few sobs leave him while I stroke his strong back soothingly.
"I love you so much, Mulder!" I whisper. "Don't listen to Bill… he's just hurt right now…"
"He has every right to be hurt," Mulder whispers back, his arms tightening around my waist.
"True," I agree. "We probably should have told him a long time ago… but he was never gonna take this nicely… and he just said what he said to hurt you."
"He meant it," Mulder exhales deeply. "I don't understand how he can think I'm taking advantage of you! He knows that I've always cared about you a lot!"
"Hey, you're protective of your sister too, Mulder!" I try to reason with him. "And I know Bill was over the line but imagine you walking in on Samantha like he walked in on us!"
He shudders at the thought and I can't help a little chuckle. He looks up and gives me a sad little smile as I wipe the tears from his beautiful face.
"Let's have some breakfast," I tell him. "At least Bill knows now! And later we'll go to my parents' place and tell the rest of my family… I know my dad and Bill will give us a hard time but it's worth it, Mulder. What we have is worth fighting for. And there's nothing they can do to stop us from being together. They'll just have to get used to it."
"You really think I'm worth it?" he asks me.
If I couldn't see his face or hear the doubt in his voice, I would have thought he was joking. How can this man think so little of himself?
"I love you, Mulder," I smile at him. "More than anything else. You make me so happy and you make me feel so loved. Of course you're worth it."
He smiles at that and I lean over to give him a gentle kiss which he happily returns.

Mulder POV
Bill's words hit me hard. I never wanted him to find out like that. For years I've dreaded the day I would have to tell him about how I really feel about his sister… and now that he knows, it hits me how dumb I've been… how every day that I haven't told him has been a betrayal. I wish I told him when I first knew I was in love with Dana. I wish I'd been honest with him from the start. But I can't change that now. I can only do everything in my power to try and salvage my friendship. I know that telling Dana's parents won't go over well. She tries to cheer me up and appease my worries all day, but I'm more nervous than I've ever been before. Right before we have to leave, I run to the bathroom and throw up. Dana looks so worried as she strokes my back as I'm hunched over the toilet. I brush my teeth and use some mouthwash before we finally leave. Dana tells me that we don't have to do it today but I can't postpone this any longer.
I know that Dana's father doesn't think I'm good enough for her… and what hurts the most is… I think he's right. I love Dana but she could do better than me. But she wants me and I feel like the luckiest guy on the whole planet for that reason. And I'm never going to let her go. I just have to convince them that I'm worthy of being with Dana…
"Are you okay?" her hands grab mine as I pull up in front of her parents' house.
"I'll be fine," I nod and give her a weak smile - I feel sick again.
"Mulder… you're pale as a ghost!" she says, sounding worried as she gives my hand a squeeze.
"I'm nervous," I admit with a sigh. "But I'll be okay!"
She leans over and gives me a gentle kiss as she holds my face in her hands. I close my eyes and feel my heart swell at the gesture.
"I love you," she smiles at me. "Let's go inside."
I give her a smile and nod. I take her hand as we walk up to the house and she smiles at me as I do this. She knows that I need this.
We walk into the house and move towards the back, I can hear voices coming from what I know is the back garden. It sounds like the whole family is gathered out there.
"Dana, what is this?" Bill Sr. asks us sternly as he sees us come out through the open door.
Everyone shifts their attention to us. Bill, Tara, Charlie, Melissa and both of Dana's parents are all sitting around the table and are now looking at us. I just look at Tara since she's the only one I'm not scared of right now.
"Ehm…" she starts off and looks up at me before looking back to her dad. "Mulder asked me to marry him!"
My eyes widen and I immediately look down at her in shock.
"He did what?" Bill exclaims, standing up from the table.
"Dana, what do you mean?" Bill Sr. chimes in.
"Well, I've been seeing Mulder for a little while now…" she says, her face completely red - I honestly don't think she meant to just blurt that out. "And I love him and we're engaged."
"Come here, Dana, sweetheart," her mother says, smiling. "Sit down with us, let's talk. And, Bill, honey - just sit down!"
Bill does as he's told but he looks pissed. Dana sits down next to her mother and I sit down next to her, with Melissa on my other side.
"Hi, Fox," Melissa chuckles at me - this surprises me.
"Oh, hi, Melissa," I smile at her.
"Do you know that Dana had the biggest crush on you when you were in high school?" she winks at me.
"Well…" I look around the table and all eyes seem to be on me. "I didn't know at the time but I do know now."
"Cute," Melissa chuckles and I feel slightly more at ease - I hadn't expected anyone to be this cool about it. "When did you start dating then?"
"It's a long story," Dana shrugs, her hand finding mine on my thigh under the table and interlacing our fingers.
"Well, we want to hear it," her dad says and I dare a longer look at him - his eyes are burning the same way Bill's were earlier.
"Fine," Dana says defiantly. "We started dating before I went off to college."
"What do you mean?" her mother gasps slightly.
"Are you serious?" Bill cries out. "You acted like my best friend while doing my sister behind my back for that many years?"
"It wasn't like that," I manage to croak out. "But I'm sorry, Bill!"
"Bill's birthday party," Bill Sr. exclaims. "I was right about you all along!"
"You were and you weren't," Dana sighs as she rolls her eyes. "Nothing happened between us that night - but we had been seeing each other for a little while at that point."
"Why didn't you tell us?" Mrs. Scully asks, confused.
"Why do you think?" Dana rolls her eyes again. "I knew what dad was gonna say… and I was moving across the country anyway so we didn't even know if we'd keep seeing each other long distance."
"But you made it work?" Melissa asks excitedly.
"Yeah, everything worked out in the end," Dana smiles at her sister. "We weren't really a couple but we never saw other people and when I moved back here, we decided to give it a real shot and… well, I've never been happier!"
"That's bullshit!" Bill declares. "Dana, you were literally dating someone else when you first moved back here! And Mulder, dude… my bedroom is right next to yours! I know for a fact that you've been hooking up with other people in the last four years!"
"Ugh, I didn't wanna go into this much detail," Dana sighs. "But if you must know… we kinda broke it off last Christmas. Mulder didn't think my family would ever accept him, because of a conversation he had with you, so he broke it off with me to give me a chance to find someone I could be truly happy with… he didn't tell me that's why he ended it though… and I was heartbroken. I dated Ethan because he seemed perfect for me… on paper, he was perfect! But I wasn't in love with him. And when Mulder finally told me why he broke it off with me… well, I let him know that he was being an idiot!"
"I'm sorry I broke it off with Dana," I finally speak up. "She means the world to me and I love her more than anything. I know that you guys don't like me very much but for some reason I'm lucky enough that Dana loves me… and I hope you'll give me a chance to prove that I can make Dana happy!"
"Of course, Fox," Mrs. Scully says sweetly and I smile widely at her in surprise. "I can tell that you make my daughter happy. And I'm willing to give you another chance!"
"Thank you, Mrs. Scully!" I beam at her.
I feel Dana's hand give mine a squeeze and she smiles cutely at me.
"Dude!" Bill stands up again. "You've been banging other chicks while you were with my sister!"
"Bill, I haven't," I whisper and feel my neck grow red.
"Oh, you haven't?" he mocks me, crossing his arms over his chest. "So you've been rocking your bed against my wall all on your own?"
"Bill!" Dana exclaims, completely red as well. "Just stop!"
"Why?" he groans. "Dana, you can't be this blind!"
"For god's sake, Bill!" Melissa cuts him off. "Isn't it obvious who he's been rocking the bed with by now?"
"What do you me-..." Bill slowly sits down, his mouth open. "How? You've been off to college?"
"Well, I did come home a few times a year," Dana sighs, averting everyone's eyes as she looks down.
"I can't fucking believe this!" Bill mutters in a whisper.
"Bill, please - your language!" Mrs. Scully scolds her grown son.
"You've been sneaking around with my daughter for years…" Bill Sr. starts off, making me gulp. "And now you've asked for her hand in marriage without talking to me first!"
My palms start to sweat - it never occurred to me to ask Dana's father first… I proposed on a whim pretty much… and I don't think I've had a proper conversation with him ever, unless you count him scolding me and telling me off, which he's done on a few occasions.
"I'm sorry, sir!" I quickly say.
"Mulder," Dana rolls her eyes. "I'm my own person! Dad, we live in the 21'st century! Mulder doesn't need to ask anybody but me!"
"Dana, it's tradition!" he says sternly. "And it's just good manners! Melissa's made it clear that she never wants to get married! I'm probably only going to give one daughter away - I want it to be done right!"
"I really am sorry, sir!" I speak up again. "I hadn't planned to propose… I should have planned it all out better, I should have come to see you… I'm sorry it didn't occur to me!"
"No, Mulder," Dana sighs. "It was perfect, don't let my dad bully you!"
"I'm not bullying anyone, Dana!" he chuckles - and I'm surprised he actually seems to be in a better mood. "Tell me about this perfect proposal!"
"Well, last weekend Mulder and I went to Sequoia National Park, his parents have a cabin up there," Dana says and smiles at me. "And one evening we were watching the sun set over the lake by the cabin and Mulder asked me."
"The day had just been so perfect," I shrug with a smile. "I just wanted to let Dana know how much I loved her."
"That's so sweet!" Melissa says.
"I can't believe you guys are engaged!" Tara chimes in. "Congratulations!"
"Yeah, congratulations!" Mrs. Scully agrees and Melissa and Charlie congratulate us as well.
"Thank you," both Dana and I say and we can't help but smile.
"Dana, I thought you went camping with your friends last weekend? And Mulder, you were away on a case?" Bill interjects.
"Bill, do you know how straining it has been to hide our relationship from you?" Dana asks seriously. "Constantly feeling guilty and keeping our distance whenever you're home… we needed some time away from you!"
"That's a bit harsh," I remark. "We just wanted to spend some time together just the two of us without being busy with work."
"I'm very happy for the two of you," Mrs. Scully gives us another smile. "I think it's time to start up the BBQ, Bill!"
Bill Sr. nods and moves to the BBQ while Mrs. Scully moves inside to fix something in the kitchen.
"The cat's finally out of the bag," Tara grins at us.
"Finally!" Dana agrees with her.
"Wait, you knew?" Bill looks stunned.
"Bill, you've been so blind, honey," she chuckles, caressing his cheek. "I've known since I first met Dana that these two were crazy about each other!"
"What?!" Bill seems confused. "You've known all along? And you've never told me?"
"I didn't know they were a thing!" she clarifies. "But I saw the way they looked at each other and interacted… I didn't know they were together until a bit over a month ago - and I thought I'd let them tell you themselves!"
"Have I really been that blind?" Bill asks around the table and everyone replies with a yes, making us all break into a fit of laughter.
"Didn't you notice the way Dana would talk about Fox when we were all in high school?" Melissa wonders.
"Not really!" he shrugs.
"Do you remember when dad grounded you after Bill's 21'st birthday party?" Charlie asks Dana. "I heard you have sex with someone in your room!"
"Charlie!" Dana exclaims, her face flushing a bright red.
"Was that you?" he asks me, grinning.
I just nod my head and try not to look at Bill.
"What about prom?" Melissa prods. "I thought you lost your virginity to your prom date - but you didn't, did you?"
"Ehm, no..." Dana clears her throat.
"Wait a second!" Bill exclaims, facepalming himself. "I remember the day after your prom! I came home from some business thing and Mulder was cooking shirtless in the kitchen! You were wearing his hoodie!"
"Bill…" Tara chuckles. "How blind have you been?"
"I can't believe you had Fox over when dad grounded you!" Melissa chuckles. "Very ballsy!"
"That's a million years ago now!" Dana sighs. "It was the last time we saw each other before I left for Harvard."
"I jumped off the roof," I remember with a chuckle. "The next morning… I didn't want your dad to see me!"
"Good call," Bill chuckles and our eyes meet for a second before he diverts his attention.
"We should probably help out with the food," Tara finally says after a slightly awkward silence.
Charlie, Tara and Melissa are off to the kitchen to help Mrs. Scully while Dana walks up to her dad and gives him a big hug. I can clearly see them from the table where I'm now alone with Bill, but I can't hear what they're saying.
"I still can't believe how blind I've been," Bill sighs.
"Bill, I wish I told you years ago!" I tell him sincerely. "I was just scared, I guess… there was never a good time. There were so many excuses not to do it. But now I just wish I'd done everything differently!"
"You really love her, don't you?" he smiles at me.
"Of course!" I tell him. "She's perfect!"
"She is," Bill agrees. "And if you ever hurt her…"
"I won't," I cut him off before he can threaten me.
He nods and we both break into a laugh.
"I love you, man!" he chuckles and moves over to sit down next to me.
"That's good," I nod at him. "Because I was hoping you'd be my best man."
"Wait!" he says excitedly. "Are you for real?"
"Of course," I chuckle. "You're my best friend, Bill! It has to be you!"
"True," he smiles greatly at me. "We'll actually be brothers, huh?"
"Bill, you were always my brother!" I shrug. "I'm sorry I fell in love with your sister, man! I really tried not to!"
"I know you would have," he acknowledges. "You know how special Dana is to me. And I know I said it was friendship over if this ever happened… but honestly, if anyone deserves to be with my sister, it's you!"
"I don't think I deserve her," I let him know. "But for some unknown reason she wants me."
"Mulder, you're the best guy I know!" he says decidedly. "Dana has always seen you for who you really are. And so have I. I'm sorry about what I said earlier - I didn't think straight!"
"Thank you, Bill!" I feel truly grateful to have this man as my best friend right now.
After talking a bit more back and forth Bill decides to join Dana and her dad by the BBQ. I don't feel quite ready to face Bill Sr. yet so I walk inside and find the bathroom to have a quick pee and splash some water in my face and on my neck, to cool down a little bit. It's a warm day and I was so nervous earlier. But honestly it's gone way better than I could have hoped for. As I exit the bathroom, Dana is standing right in front me in the hallway.
"Hey," she smiles at me and walks into my arms, putting her arms around my neck.
"Hey, yourself," I smile back at her and pull her closer towards me, my hands sneaking down to her lower back.
"That actually went pretty well!" she seems happy. "What did you and Bill talk about?"
"I asked him to be my best man," I chuckle, giving her a quick kiss. "He said yes!"
"Good," she leans in for another kiss, this time it's not as quick though.
"Dana," I pull back from her eager lips. "What are you doing?"
"Do you even know how sexy you are to me?" she asks me, leaning in for another kiss.
"Mmmh," I groan against her lips, giving into it.
Her hands slide onto my neck and into my hair as my own hands slide down to her perfectly round ass.
I'm reminded of where we left off this morning before Bill walked in on us and before all my nerves got the better of me. I want her so much and before I even register what's happening, Dana's backed us into the bathroom behind me.
She turns around in my arms, holding onto the sink as I bite her neck, hoist her skirt up and undo my pants in a rush.
"Oh, God!" she exclaims as I enter her without warning, pulling her panties aside with haste and filling her with my hard cock.
"Be quiet!" I whisper against her ear as I move fast in and out of her, breathing heavily against her.
"I love the way you fuck me," she breathes out, trying to hold back her moans, whimpering as we move together.
I move my mouth down to where her neck meets her shoulder and gently suck and bite her skin there, while my hands release her shirt from her skirt, move up her naked stomach and find her magnificent breasts, tweaking her nipples.
"Jesus, Mulder!" she whispers, holding onto the sink, her knuckles completely white.
I look up in the mirror in front of us and she looks too fucking beautiful right now. I move one of my hands down into her panties, finding her clit, making her bite her lip as she moans deep in her throat. She's close and she looks so beautiful. I need to get her off, I'm so fucking close.
"Look at me," I whisper into her ear and her eyes open up and meet mine in the mirror.
"God, Mulder, YES!" she moans in a hushed tone and I feel her tremble in my arms as her orgasm overtakes her.
I can't hold back any longer either and I pump into her a few more times, looking at her in the mirror, amazed at how beautiful she looks as she comes for me, our eyes locked.
"What was that?" I ask her, as she turns around in my arms.
"I don't know," she giggles, her face flustered, as she leans up to kiss me. "I just needed you!"
"We shouldn't have done that here!" I admonish her as she zips and buttons my pants for me.
"You didn't object a few minutes ago," she smirks at me.
"You're so hypocritical," I sigh. "When I wanted to do it in my old room at my parents' house you said no! But your parents' house is somehow better?"
"Well," she puts her arms around my neck with a devilish grin. "You could have just said no!"
"You know damn well I can't say no to you!" I chuckle and roll my eyes at her.
"Maybe," she grins and pushes me away from her. "I need to pee, Mulder!"
"Alright," I sigh and try to fix my grey dress pants and white t-shirt, as it's gotten a bit wrinkled, before leaving the bathroom.
"Hey, Fox," Melissa smiles at me and my eyes widen as I close the door behind me and see her there.
"Oh… hi," I say shyly - I wonder how long she's been standing there.
"Are you gonna move?" she chuckles. "I kinda need the bathroom."
"Dana's in there," I tell her and then curse myself as Melissa is now able to figure out what's just happened in the bathroom.
"Oh, wow," she chuckles nervously, her eyebrows raised. "I have to say, Fox, you've got some balls. In my father's house…"
"I really don't!" I sigh, rubbing my now very red neck. "It was your sister's idea! I'm just a very weak man when it comes to Dana!"
"I can imagine," she giggles just as Dana comes out from the bathroom.
"Oh," she says in surprise at seeing Melissa and me standing there.
"Fox was just telling me how he never refuses you anything," Melissa teases me.
"What did you tell her?" Dana tries to whisper at me as she hits my chest with the back of her hand.
"Jesus Christ!" I roll my eyes at them and walk back to the garden, both sisters following me out there, laughing together at my distress.
"What's so funny?" Bill smiles at us as we sit down by the table with him.
"Nothing!" I say quickly with a heavy sigh.
"I was just teasing Fox a little bit," Melissa shrugs, handing me a cold beer.
I happily accept the beverage and take a swig from it. Dana sits down next to me and leans against me.
"Sorry, babe," she whispers in my ear, making the hair on my arms stand at attention.
She's never called me babe before but I instantly love it. I smirk at her and shrug, letting her know I don't mind, as I lean down and give her a quick kiss.
"Dude, do you mind?" Bill asks in horror.
"Oh, chill, Bill!" Tara chuckles. "As if you haven't kissed me in front of your sister before!"
"It's different," he sulks but can't help but chuckle slightly.
We end up having quite a nice evening. I expect Dana's father to pull me aside but he doesn't. He still doesn't seem too pleased with me but at least he tolerates my presence - which is more than I hoped for, to be honest. I know I'll have to confront him at some point, but that day isn't today. Dana's mother surprises me by being very inviting and asking me a lot of questions. She actually seems to genuinely like me now that she's given me a second chance. And I really like her too. I never had much of an opinion of Margaret Scully before - I always just thought she felt the same way about me as her husband did. But as I talk to her more, I can definitely see that Dana has a lot of her mother in her. She has the same mannerisms and the same ability to make me want to open up to her. She reminds me of my own mother in a lot of ways. She's definitely a very strong woman and I feel bad for simply seeing her as an extension of her husband for all these years.
I also get to talk to Dana's younger brother Charlie a little bit. He's about to embark on his last year of community college and seems to have no clue on what he wants to do with his life after that. He has a lot of questions about the FBI and he seems to be really interested in law enforcement - but I think that could be said for a lot of guys. Charlie has always been a good kid and I know he's always looked up to Bill and me.
I've pretty much won over the entire Scully clan except Bill Sr. of course. He gives Dana a great hug before we leave but just nods his head towards me. It does bother me a little bit but I don't let it show. I just smile awkwardly at him.
"So, your dad still hates me," I sigh as we drive home.
"Mulder, he does not," Dana chuckles. "I think he took it very well!"
"I guess…" I shrug. "He didn't talk to me much."
"He needs time," she explains. "But he promised me he wouldn't be mean to you again!"
"Yeah, I guess he wasn't," I shrug again. "I'm just happy your mom seems to like me at least."
"She told me she never realized what a handsome young man you were before today," Dana chuckles, shaking her head. "I think she was always busy worrying over Bill to really see you for who you are."
"She said I was handsome?" I can't help but laugh at that.
"Well, you are," Dana gives me a cute, little smile.
"I still haven't forgiven you for seducing me like that, by the way!" her smile reminds me of the hot sex we had in her parents' guest bathroom.
"No?" she chuckles and leers at me. "What are you gonna do about it?"
"I guess I'll have to punish you when we get home," I shrug with a sly smirk.
Thank you so much to everyone who reviews! You make my day every time!
