Silence filled the empty halls in the throne room of Andrias's damaged castle. The king himself sat in his mighty chair. Beaten, humiliated, patched up in numerous areas as he tended to his wounds. He was given an eye patch from the wound that Marcy had inflicted on him. The flipwart board that stood on a table before him was a mess. With many of the pieces scattered unevenly across the the chair that he rested on, he reflected on the events that have passed recently. He never felt so embarrassed in his life. Not since the two friends he had in his life betrayed him thousands of years ago.

Not only that, but the loss of the only person he actually cared about in all his years of living was gone. Sure he had done many terrible things to her. But they were for good reason. At least in his mind. He really liked Marcy. She was one of his most loyal followers. He gave her everything that she could ever ask for. And in return, she scared him in the face and abandoned him. Just like the others.

But what made his blood run cold even more was the interference of that dragon. Whatever it was, it made him look weak and powerless. Sure, he was able to best it in single combat twice, but for it to prevail in the end infuriated him even more. He could not stop thinking about it. To the point where he barely even ate or slept. Heck, he couldn't even remember the last time he actually went up to his chambers to get some shut eye.

However, while he felt nothing but hatred for the beast for his involvement of Marcy's escape, he also felt quite curious about the creature itself. He knew nothing about it. In all his years of ruling Amphibia, this was his first encounter with a beast that he has never seen. Let alone for said creature to be none other than a dragon. Sure, he heard stories of dragons when he was with Marcy, but he did not figure that they would actually be real. And now that he's actually seen one, this could mean all sorts of things for Amphibia. The secrets that he could learn from this beast. The countless others that he could find if there were more just like it. He needed to find it. More importantly he needed to find them as soon as possible.

He turned on a hologram that was at the center of the table. Bringing up General Yunan and her squad of robots that he sent to find the two of them hours ago. He hoped that she had some good news to report to him.

"General Yunan," the Lord of Amphibia spoke confidently. "How are things coming along your end?"

His rumbling voice had a slight tinny edge, the usual side-effect of magical communication over interplanar it did nothing to hide the self-satisfaction in his tone. In return the general gulped nervously. Feeling a bit anxious when it comes to giving him her report.

"Nothing so far your majesty," she spoke. Yunan did not like showing weakness, considering her reputation as general of the Newtopian army. But she could not lie to Andrias. "We were able to follow their tracks across the ocean, but it went cold before we could trace them. It's like they're completely off the grid."

"You mean you've lost them?" Andrias' eyes narrowed behind the mirror screen, heavy brows furrowing.

Yunan looked down out of fear that she may unleash his anger. Yet remained truthful in her words.

"Yes, unfortunately," she admitted. "But fear not King Andrias. They wouldn't have gone far. We're trying as best as we can to locate-"

"Then try harder!" he declared. "I don't care what it takes, search everywhere! The valley, the quarter. Bring them to me alive. I need their hearts pumping! And don't return to me until you have them both in chains! Is that clear?!"

Yunan paused. Still fearful of the King's anger. Yet she remained calm enough to make him feel that he was understood.

"Yes King Andrias," she finally answered.

"Good" Andrias nodded, frowning. "Don't take too long. I'll be in touch."

Shortly after that there was a magical hum. And the mirror faded back to a silvery sheen, and the holographic flipwart pieces evaporated with a static hiss. Within seconds the room was quiet once again. Plunged into near darkness that filled the empty halls of the library. And the amphibia ruler couldn't help sighing again. He spent months building up his forces in the upcoming invasion of Earth. Now he has to delay those plans because of this one mere threat.

It irritated him that he has to go through this. He already suffered a heavy loss when that wretched human Anne Boonchuy slipped from his very fingers. Now he has this to worry about. It wasn't fair. Yet he also kept in mind that if he did not handle this situation correctly, everything he had worked so hard to achieve will be destroyed before his very eyes. Yet without a proper location, the two of them could be anywhere. Heck, maybe they might reunite with that filthy toad insurrection down in Wartwood. He hoped that it wouldn't be the case. And if he waited too long, how long will it take before this creature's defiance reaches the hearts and minds of the people of Amphibia.

The fear that this thing's burst of courage would inspire them to challenge his might crossed the king's mind. He could not let that happen. But the question that stuck to him was a matter of how. How can he punish such a threat when he couldn't even crush it to begin with. However, as he pondered all the possibilities that would come to haunt him in the mere future, a dim light entered his gaze from his right. When he looked, he noticed the Calamity Box glowing from the pillar of which it stood. The colors from within that music chest lit up like a glow stick.

And it was at that moment, that an idea crawled up from the back of the newt ruler's head. An idea that could potentially turn this whole thing around if done properly. And before he knew it, a devil-ish grin crept up from the side of his face.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to make some...social calls."

Elsewhere..

Nighttime had already fallen in the world of Amphibia. The stars shine brightly and glimmered across the sea next to the island from which the duet decided to stay at. The air was cool and covered in a light breeze and the humidity of the jungle made the earth damp and moist. And in a cave inside of a waterfall, Toothless was seen dazed out in his own sleep. With Marcy slumbering within his lap.

His head was to the ground and one of his wings covered his human companion like a blanket. The Night Fury's tail swayed slightly, and his paws twitched a bit. Pretty soon, he slowly started to wake up. His eyes looking dreary as he started to see blurriness. But through this moment of dullness, his senses detected a sudden disturbance around them. Someone was nearby. He could not tell who, or what it was, but someone was definitely near. His eyes shot out and he stood up quickly. Though in doing so, his thoughts were suddenly interrupted when he heard Marcy moaning.

Out of instinct, he nudged his head against hers, giving the teen girl reassurance. And in return, she stopped moving and the frown that was planted on her face turned into a little smile. Afterwards he turned back around and started sniffing the air. Trying to catch the scent of whatever it was that was out there. After a moment of smelling, he glanced around before turning his attention towards the direction of the waterfall.

Then with extreme caution, he carefully weaved his way around Marcy's body. Gently resting her head against a rock just behind them so he didn't wake her up. After that he slowly made his way towards the waterfall. With every step he took, the Night Fury continued to sniff around the area. To see if he could catch the scent of whatever it was that was out there. At first there was nothing, but pretty soon, he was able to catch one. Though this time, the scent got stronger and stronger. As if it was right under his very nose.

He was close to the edge of the waterfall, when all of a sudden, he stopped. Dead in his tracks. And before he knew it, a shadow began to reflect from the waterfall itself. It grew bigger and bigger with each passing second. There was something just outside of the waterfall. The Night Fury's back soon began to glow blue, when the sound a voice came from the direction of the waterfall.

"Peace great warrior," the voice reassured. "I did not mean to disturb you."

Next thing the dragon knew, he was shocked to stand in the presence of a great golden lion. The biggest that the Night Fury has ever seen in his life. Its thick glossy mane flourished within the glory of the sun. With a mixture gold and blown, the beauty of such a beast was unthinkable. Yet despite the majesty of this creature, the King of Dragons remained vigilante. In case if he could not trust it.

"I come with a message," the lion spoke. "And offer counsel to you and your dear friend. That is...if you are willing to hear it."

The dragon turned his head back to the girl. Seeing that she was still asleep. He knew not to trust the words of strangers, but if this creature had important information that could help them in the future, the least he could do was hear it out. He then turned back to the lion and gave it a nod. Giving the creature the opportunity to say what it needed to say to them. Though it had to make it quick. So that it didn't play for time.

"The hour grows late," the lion told the dragon. "King Andrias and his forces are only steps closer to waging war on all that you love. When he does, you must be ready."

The Night Fury tilted his head in confusion. Wondering what he meant by that.

"Seek out the fourth and final temple that lies at the edge of this world," the lion continued. "Uncover all its treasures and powers. And unlock the key to your destiny. Only then will you prevail in the wars to come."

Toothless began to take his words to account deeply. Never in his life has anyone spoke to him with such dignity. And never in his hundred years of living has he had a task that would be much more important to others. But at the same time these were merely riddles. Things that had no real meaning. What did he it mean by 'seeking out the fourth temple'? Which temple did it refer to? And more importantly, what was the key to his destiny? Though before he could be given those answers, the lion started to leave.

"That is all I can give you now, great warrior," the lion said as it started to exit the waterfall. "The rest is up to you."

After that the lion disappeared from his line of sight and vanished without a trace. For a moment Toothless thought about the lion's words. Wondering what they all meant. But after pondering with this new information, his attention was then drawn to the sounds of what seemed to be Marcy waking up. He turned around and saw her stirring from her sleep in a groggily fashion.

"Toothless," Marcy called out. "Is everything okay?"

The Night Fury glanced back at the waterfall and wondered if he should tell her about the lion's presence. But after hearing a soft moan escape the lips of his human friend, he thought it best not to worry her. So he went back towards her and nudged his head against her face. Assuring her that it was nothing. Softened by the dragon's reassurance, the human teenager then leaned her head back down as the Night Fury cuddled up against her once back down onto his belly and resting his head in a position where he could sleep comfortably next to her. And eventually did not wake up again for the rest of the night.
