(A/n: I know it took a lot longer to get this chapter out than normal, but since the start of school I didn't have a lot of time to write this on the weekdays, so I think new chapters on Saturdays and Sundays will be the norm from now on.
Thank you guys so much for 3.8k total views, like I've said so many times before you guys are amazing!
Chapter_Thanker - Yeah you are right, but it might be a little bit until that starts happening.
Here's where things start to get a lot different from cannon and it might be a little confusing due to how vague I'm being, but trust me when I say that most of it will be explained next chapter.
Enjoy! :)
Endeavor sat down in his office with a sigh. It's currently Shoto's allotted one hour of free time, and that left Endeavor with nothing to do but watch the news. Really, he was just deep in thought as the news played in the background, but no one needed to know that.
Even after Endeavor announced that he would only do hero work two days a week from now on, he was still voted number one hero time and time again because of his 'strength'. Maybe in a life without the prophecy he would be satisfied, but he still wasn't strong enough to get the strongest quirk. So, he followed in his father's and grandfather's footsteps and had a quirk marriage with a woman with an ice quirk.
So you'd think Shoto having four quirks would deem him strong enough to be worthy for the strongest quirk, but surely enough, it hasn't shown up yet. That's why Endeavor is taking even more time off of his hero work to train him. Maybe Shoto just needs to be pushed to his absolute limits.
'Hopefully that early UA course will do the trick,' Endeavor thought.
But if Shoto didn't get the strongest quirk, then his offspring had to. Endeavor noted that he would need to find a woman with a strong quirk for Shoto to marry, so he may as well start looking.
"... and Ochako Uraraka, a girl with a zero gravity quirk, made quick work of these two villains, they are sure to be great heroes in the future." the news announcer said as a clip of Ochako using her ultimate move(s) on the villain who could possess weapons.
'I guess today's my lucky day,' Endeavor thought as he texted his agency's manager to find Uraraka's parents' phone number.
"Shoto come here," Endeavor demanded as Shoto appeared almost instantly, as if expecting to be called.
"Yes, father?" Shoto said.
"I found a girl worthy of your hand in marriage, I was just making you aware of her. The only thing you need to know about her is that she has a zero gravity quirk." Endeavor said.
"What about her name?" Shoto said with a soulless tone, he never enjoyed training with his father, but it was bearable. However, taking away his freedom to choose who he wanted to marry, that was just too far.
However, Shoto remained calm, angering his father was the last thing he wanted to do right now.
"Like I said, not important, hopefully I'll find a way for you to meet her soon. Now go back to doing whatever it is that you do and remember that the early UA course starts tomorrow. Am I understood?" Endeavor stated like an army general.
"Yes sir!" Shoto said with fake enthusiasm.
Shoto knew one thing for sure, he definitely wasn't going to follow in his father's footsteps.
Izuku and Ochako could barely wait for the school day to be over so they could start their first UA training class. The whole day went by without anything interesting happening, Katsuki didn't even approach them today, he just seemed stuck in his thoughts.
Right now they were in the final stretch, there was less than a minute until their last class ended, and then they could go to UA!
'5… 4… 3… 2… 1…' they both thought.
Then the bell rang.
'SCHOOLS OUT!' they both yelled in their minds as they picked up their stuff and rushed out the door.
They both ran to the bus stop so fast that you might have thought their quirks were speed related.
After they were dropped off at the UA campus, they were welcomed by a man with long black hair with an exhausted expression and an astronaut looking figure.
'Wow, Thirteen teaches at UA!?' Ochako thought, Thirteen was most definitely her favorite hero due to her space-like costume, but she and Izuku learned to tone down their inner fanboy/girl whenever confronting people.
They were led past the infamous UA Barrier, and into a building at the far end of the campus, unlike the dorms which had a connected base with two towers at the end of them, this building was shaped more like a dome.
"Due to the short notice of the creation of this program, we don't have many places for you to be taught, so we decided to take you here, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, AKA…" the tired man started with.
"The USJ!" Thirteen finished in an excited tone.
The tired man glared daggers at Thirteen, and either she didn't notice or didn't care as she led them inside.
"I can't wait to finally use my quirk at max output!" said one of the boys, he had yellow hair with a black lightning shaped streak going through it.
"Well, I'm glad you're excited, however before we get started, we must inform you of the specifics of this program." Thirteen said as they finally made it into the building.
"First, you all must know that you are taking the equivalent of our Heroics 1 course, but at an extremely decelerated pace. By the time you get to UA, you'll have just finished the Heroics 1 content." the tired man said with a surprisingly serious tone.
The yellow haired boy along with another boy with blue hair made a face at this, but kept their mouths shut as the teachers continued.
"Second, since legally we have to let all the candidates into UA without taking the entrance exam, a perk of finishing this course is getting immediate placement into Class 1A who take Advanced Heroics 1 and you guys will also be taking Advanced Heroics 2 that year. However, you two…" the man said and then pointed at Izuku and Ochako.
"Since you aren't candidates, you don't have the privilege of immediately getting into UA, so Principal Nezu decided to have you take the recommended exam, you will be treated the same as any other entree, however if you get in you will also immediately be placed into Class 1A." he said.
Izuku and Ochako just nodded as if expecting this.
"Lastly, as you probably know, we have a ranking system in our school, and we will be carrying that over into this course. You will be ranked 1-7 based on your performance in tests every 6 months up until you start actually going to UA. The candidates will have no advantages in placement here, if Midoriya or Uraraka gets a higher place than you, then they will be given that higher placement. However, you all will have the advantage of starting off UA in the top 7 spots before the first ranking." the man finished.
After that last announcement, all the kids in the room felt smirks grow on their faces, they were all thinking about getting number one.
"Also, his name is Mr. Aizawa, he's always tired as evidenced by him forgetting to tell you his name." Thirteen said jokingly.
Aizawa just glared at Thirteen.
Then the boy with hair that has four different colors raised his hand.
"When do we get ranked?" he asked in a monotone voice.
"Right now," Mr. Aizawa responded as the floor opened up beneath all of the students and sent them all to different parts of the building.
'I hope they're all ready for this,' Thirteen thought, she knew this wouldn't be easy in the least bit.
Ochako's parents were enjoying their week off from work. Ever since they got the contract for building UA's dorms, they've been getting more offers than they could ever imagine. So one week off wouldn't be too much after all the work they've been putting in.
Then there was a knock on the door.
"I wonder who that could be?" Ochako's mom thought aloud.
"I'll get i-," Mr. Uraraka started to say, but he was interrupted.
By the appearance of the Number 1 Hero, Endeavor.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Uraraka I assume," Endeavor said with an unnaturally polite tone.
Ochako's parents, who were still in shock, just shook their heads in confirmation.
"I bet you are wondering why I'm here," Endeavor said, knowingly stating the obvious as he walked into the Uraraka family's kitchen.
"Y-yes we are," Ochako's dad managed to say.
Endeavor walked over to a shelf with a picture of the Uraraka and Midoriya families on it and picked up the picture as if studying it.
"Your daughter is the one with the zero gravity quirk?" Endeavor asked, returning to his less polite tone.
"Yes," Mrs. Uraraka confirmed.
Then Endeavor turned around and glared at both of them.
"I saw what she did on the news. Her quirk is very powerful, and I have deemed it worthy to be a quirk of the Todorokis!" Endeavor exclaimed in almost… a happy tone?
"Excuse me, I don't think I heard that right," Mrs. Uraraka said in a cold voice.
Endeavor's face contorted from happy to furious.
"I just bestowed your family the highest honor, being part of the ultimate creation of the inheritor of the strongest quirk. You should be bowing and begging me to let this happen!" Endeavor yelled intimidatingly.
However, the Urarakas weren't intimidated.
"You really think that we would take away our daughter's freedom just for some strongest quirk bullshit. Not in a million years." Mr. Uraraka said defiantly.
"HOW DARE YOU!" Endeavor screamed as his quirks started going off, causing a third of his hair to catch on fire, a third to stick straight up, and a third to be covered in earth.
"Look, if your son who has four quirks isn't strong enough to 'inherit the strongest quirk', then you're obviously doing something wrong. Now, GET OUT OF OUR HOUSE!" Mrs. Uraraka said, starting out in a cold tone and eventually yelling.
"HOW-"
"OUT!" Both Mr. and Mrs. Uraraka screamed.
And Endeavor stomped out of the Uraraka's house, clearly angry.
'I'm just going to have to find another way,' Endeavor thought.
Izuku opened his eyes to find himself in a city.
'Huh?' he thought, the last thing he remembered was the ground opening up under him and now he's here.
He looked around and upon closer inspection he noticed that the city didn't look like a real city at all, no people and no noises.
Then he looked up and didn't see the sky, he saw a large white dome.
'Oh, I'm still in the USJ,' he realized.
Suddenly there was a static crackle coming from said dome.
"Welcome to your first ranking test. This will be a battle royale style test that will push your skill and strategy to the limit. You will be taken out either when you say 'I give up' or you are knocked out. Everything is allowed except for you aren't allowed to leave the USJ. Good luck and remember…"
"Plus Ultra!"
(A/n: Ok I honestly didn't expect this chapter to be multiple parts but here we are again. I just hope this time I can stick to two parts.
Yeah, like I said before this chapter was so vague to the point that it is confusing. I didn't explain who any of the candidates are or what their quirks were, but trust me that will come next chapter, I just felt it was better to reveal their quirks when they are fighting.
Most of the candidates are OCs with the exception of Todoroki and Kaminari(and if you count Eri, also yes, Eri being there is a plotpoint in itself that will either be highlighted in chapter 4 part 2 or chapter 5) who have different personalities/quirk(s) than their cannon counterparts.
Hopefully next chapter will be more interesting than this one, I've always wanted to see a battle royale type test in the hero course because I just believe that's more fair than randomly putting people against each other where some might get unlucky on quirk matchups(like Tokoyami vs Bakugou).
I really hope you enjoyed this chapter and this story so far, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please comment/review(also it would make my day)
Plus Ultra! ;)
