"Hey Emma!" The Girl in Sweatpants and a Patent grey t-shirt approached Emma with a bright smile that could light up the whole room. Emma hated her smile and not because she was jealous.

"Goodness you're here. I got locked out of the building yesterday" Emma's cheeks flushed a deep Red of embarrassment when the Girl called Ruby laughed wholeheartedly.

"Girl, how'd you do that?"

Emma Groaned "I don't know"

"Crazy though, right? just yesterday we were walking Through the halls of middle school"

She trailed off and interlocked Arms With Em as they walked down the Crowded hall

"Where's your next class?" Emma asked

"Uhm... My days over now" Ruby Shrugged and Flipped her hair over her shoulder

"Great. Mine too"

"Pizza?" There was a pizzeria not far down the hill from the castle like high school they attended.

After leaving the building they ran into two other students they had known from middle school, Robyn and Mary.

"Robyn let me see your schedule" Emma asked before snatching the sheet of paper out of Robyn's hands anyway, not waiting for an answer as the four walked down the hill together.

"Girl- '' Robyn was cut off shortly after by a laugh that slipped from Mary Margaret's lips "Whatcha laughing at? Huh?" Robyn rolled his eyes at Mary who just continued to laugh as Emma's eyes scanned the piece of paper she had grabbed moments before.

Emma hands the sheet of paper back, frowning "None of us have classes together? Geez" said the Italian girl with dark brown hair and olive skin named Mary.

Mary wore a black jacket and light blue jeans paired with a white tee, basic, although her personality was not.

When the four reached the pizzeria They split, the hill was just about 5 minutes from the bus station and the ferry boat on the island. Robyn and Mary walked straight to the ferry, claiming to be on a time limit to get home.

As they went they said their bye's and once again it was just the two, Emma and Ruby.

Walking into the pizza parlor they found a table with a set of seats, placed down their stuff and then headed over to the parlor to order their slices.

"Can I get a buffalo slice with pepperoni on it? Like On the slice" said Emma

"Yeah and let me get 2 Pepperoni slices" Ruby added

"Coming right up"

Going back to take their seats they talked for what seemed hours, turned out to be just one, they devoured the pizza that was brought over to their table until they concluded it was time to head home, and they did.

It didn't take very long for Emma to get home, she didn't live too far. All it took was a bus ride and a 5 minute walk.

Getting home from school, she set her bag down and went straight to her room that she shared with her younger sister. Sonya was 6 years old and hardly knew anything but Emma related well to her considering the age difference.

"What are ya doing' dorkus?"

"Eh nothing Em, you wanna see my drawing of us?" Summer nods, excited. She hops on Sonya's bed sitting next to her 6 year old sister looking at the drawing presented to her.

"Of Course I do" Snagging the photo she took a closer look. "Oh Moo, this is adorable" She pressed a kiss to her sister's temple "What inspired this?" Moo hadn't any idea what inspiration meant and it showed when Emma received a confused expression, a chuckle slipped from the older blonde's lips "It doesn't matter"

She shook her head "You're adorable, did you do your school work today? Is Sam home?" Sonya nods "He's in his room" She replied with a simple shrug "I don't think he went to school" Emma's first younger brother, Sean decided to skip school some days but it was only the second day today. It's the second day of his last year in middle school, why didn't he attend?

Emma sighs loudly "Of course he didn't" she says out loud to Sonya, crawling out of her bed she heads towards her brothers door, knocking lightly.

"Are you in there?" She received silence in return.

"Guess not" she mumbles to herself turning away, her feet carrying her to the kitchen of the three bedroom apartment.

"Aht aht, I'm making dinner" The sound of her mother's voice cut off her thoughts that were trailing off to what she would be having.

"I know, it smells great. Just grabbing a snack" she leans over grabbing a tangerine from the fridge, closing its door swiftly she walks over to the nearest trash can to peel it's outer coverage as she spoke to the slightly taller Woman with blonde hair.

"How was school?" her mother walks over to the stove to check on her cooking

"Eh, could've been worse, My French teacher has this hard accent and my gym class is super boring" She rants

"Like a French accent?" Ingrid, her mother responds

"Mm" Emma nods in confirmation

"That's nice. Hey, can you make sure everything is clean before you head to sleep? Sean isn't feeling well or else I'd make him help you"

Eye roll

"Of course, mom" She already did. Everyday this week, but eh, nothing new.

So she did, like a good daughter. She was a good daughter, but anyways later that night Emma held her sister's hand before bed. Much like every other night she never let go, you'll learn more about their bond later.

After a shower and a simple night routine Emma stayed up, one hand held her phone, the other holding her sister's hand. She typed, she typed to the internet friends she had. The people she loved most in the world, the only people she'd ever stay up so late for

"Ugh you're crazy" she exclaimed in a low tone

"What do you mean I'm crazy? Why are you whispering?" her friend, Liam says in a fit of laughter

"I'm in my sister's bed" Emma sighs, glancing at her sister's sleeping form.

"Aw, you guys are so cute" Liam scrunches his nose "It's only 3pm here"

"That sucks"

Liam gasps "You suck!" the young white man sighs loudly "I can't believe you would say something like that about me" jokingly.

"Mm, Not about you but to you" Emma emphasizes the word 'to', turning her head to check the time displayed on her sister's alarm.

"I also should get to sleep sometime tonight, I have class pretty early" The blonde haired girl groans internally to not wake her younger sister.

"Yeah, I should probably get back to my homework" Liam continues

"Goodnight, Em. I'll text you in the morning"

"Mine or yours?" Emma Swan flashed a smile although it couldn't be seen.

"Yours, duh. I'm not going to bed anytime soon"
"Goodnight, Liam" Emma hangs up abruptly and her heart warms, she knows this, she can feel it. She loves that feeling.

Liam is a good kid, too bad he lives so far.

Anyways, Emma eventually took up the given space which was barely any, in her sister's bed, Pressing a kiss to the kid's head she shut her eyes and what felt like forever took only an hour to get to a deep slumber.
