So, for those who saw the Loki series, I didn't like any shipping of Loki with anyone. I read Agent of Asgard and really want Loki to get with Verity Willis, who can see through his lies and magic. He doesn't need someone like himself, that to me is such a poisonous relationship. Also as a filmmaker, I didn't like Kate's take on the series. I felt she made it too personal to her own life, she tried to say that Loki loving Slyvie was a way for him to love himself. But, look what it got him! Stop making Loki endure pain! Its like torture porn at this point!

But that's my take, I heard she won't be doing season 2 and maybe that's a good thing. Maybe Loki was too much on her plate as she never worked on anything as big as this before. No one knows Loki like Tom, so he should have full 100% control and lead how Loki goes.

We'll see how he runs in on Doctor Strange 2 next year.

Until then- Enjoy!

"Loki!" Charlotte said in surprise.

The tall man grinned at the two, like a child who found his parents hiding Christmas gifts.

"I apologize for interrupting your conversation." He told them, as they remained silent. "I saw you across the way," Loki pointed toward where the large Friendship Gate could be seen. "Thought I would lose you around the following corner."

Charlotte gulped, still a bit stunned Loki was there. Her first initial thoughts were hoping he hadn't heard anything regarding him in the conversation. She was being fairly loud during the argument.

Loki looked to Mack, he brought a hand up. "Loki Odinson, nice to meet you… Tack?"

"Mack." He corrected, shaking his hand nonetheless. "And yeah, we've heard of you from the Sarge."

His face beamed, as though he was some celebrity. "Ah, no doubt about that case Officer Lane and I dealt with?"

Mack matched his grin, though his was of more malice. "More like how you walked her through the entire case."

This caused Loki's grin to falter, though he kept a tight lip. Charlotte ignored his words, Mack was only trying to egg him on.

"I simply gave a helping hand when need be, wouldn't any other partner of a detective do the same?" Loki countered, his hands clasped behind his back as his long wool coat fluttered at his knees. "You would, right?"

Mack chuckled, shoving his hand into his coat pocket, the other still holding the semi warm coffee cup. "Of course, I would!" He barked, though defensive he gave a chuckle afterwards.

"We all stand by each other, that's what police do for each other. Don't you have the same dedication for your police force back home?"

Loki nodded, stepping aside when he noticed people were near walking into the street to get around him on the curb. "Incidentally, how is your excursion going today?"

Mack paused in hesitation, brows knotted as he tried to figure out what 'excursion' meant. Charlotte took the opportunity to speak up.

"We just started. Loki," He turned to her. "What are you doing here? Johnson said you couldn't join us."

Mack snapped his fingers, his brain spared of wiring out a definition. "Exactly right, Lane!" He looked up at Loki in a smug manner. "Shall I inform the Sarge you're disrupting our job?"

"If you mean disrupting by ensuring you two do your job. Then," He shrugged innocently. "Inform a way!"

Mack groaned, "What, are you our babysitter?"

"Cop-sitter has a better ring to it." He retorted.

Charlotte grabbed Loki's arm and dragged him away from Mack down a street by a cake shop. "Johnson said you were to not be anywhere near me on my job, becoming a distraction."

"The only distraction I see is Officer Hack-"

"Mack."

"Taking on a gossip chain as worse as mothers in a doctor's office." Charlotte didn't question his comparison. "Other than that, I spoke with him and he wants me to keep an eye on you and your work with Mack."

"To ensure I don't screw up?" She asked.

Loki frowned in thought, "No, more along the lines of 'team player'."

She sighed, "Not surprised. I never kept a real cop partner longer than a month. Not into the whole 'playing well with others' whenever we have to apprehend someone or respond to a call." Charlotte explained.

"I know." He told, experiencing it himself in her first case. "Until the month ends, just think of me as a… What was it the lard man said? Oh, a tag a long!"

Tag along, one that happened to be her roommate, friend, and determinator of her promotion. No pressure whatsoever.

Pressure was at a full time high. Throughout the beat in ChinaTown, Loki walked not a few feet behind them, but directly next to Charlotte. Because the sidewalks were thinner than Center City, Mack was forced to walk behind him, as if he was the third wheel. There were moments when tourists asked for directions, accidentally getting lost in ChinaTown or visiting vendors who wished them a safe day.

Unlike Center City where Charlotte would be given glares and name calling, here she was greeted by the Asian Americans with waves, kind greetings, and even offered a warm tea to her and the other two. Charlotte stopped by a small shop for lunch and gave whatever change left over into the tip jar. Loki noted how kind hearted she was to the public. She knew a little bit Chinese, surprising some residents and they laughed together. She learned a new word or two at times, in exchange she told them a funny joke. A few were hit and miss to Loki, but they laughed nonetheless. One tourist, who spoke barely any English, was asking Mack and Charlotte directions for the Franklin Institute, with a map of the city that was severely outdated. Charlotte always carried a city map with her, in case these things happened. The only problem was, Charlotte nor Mack knew how to speak French, and the man was growing more agitated. Especially since the two cops nearly got into an argument on how to solve the situation.

That's when Loki stepped in, and asked the man to kindly calm down, in fluid French. Mack was caught off guard and Charlotte's jaw hit the ground. This guy knew French? Loki gave the idea that she showed him the map and he would translate her instructions to French. She did so and the man was extremely thankful, making his way to the institution in another city district.

Loki took mental notes that despite the two equal ranks and jobs, Charlotte tended to take the lead. She chose the roads they walked, the turns they made, and even how long conversations with the public lasted when Mack got chatty with people. She lectured him how they had to keep moving, Mack trying to argue back but was shut down by a glare from Charlotte.

The day went on with no other issues and when evening came, so did the end of their shifts. Mack and Charlotte returned to the precinct and Loki slinked off, either back to the apartment or some other place in the city. She changed into her normal clothing and took her long walk back to the apartment in Old City.

She felt tired, her feet ached having to get used to her usual long beat shifts and then her walks to and from home. The sneakers she wore did no favors, the worn out soles were flat that she swore she could feel the cement beneath the rubber of her shoes. Sure, Charlotte could take a bus, taxi, even the new Ubers. But, she was a pain with those and never trusted having someone else drive her somewhere.

A plastic bag loosely hung under the hook of her fingers when she finally made it to the apartment, carrying her bag on her shoulder and dinner in her hands. It was a quick dinner from a nearby sub shop. Once again, too tired to make anything tonight.

She entered the apartment, finding Mitsy eager at the door, the lights dimly light and Loki's bedroom fully lit. Charlotte removed her shoes and moved to the couch, collapsing with a groan.

"Welcome back." Loki greeted her, peeking out of his room at the sound of the door.

Charlotte hummed as she leaned her head back, plastic bag in her lap and closing her eyes. Her feet throbbed and she didn't want to put any more weight on them for the rest of the night. Not with another early shift tomorrow in Center City.

Loki approached but stopped, sniffing the air with disgust. "What is that putrid smell?"

She lifted her head, raising a brow. "Excuse me?" Charlotte knew she was sweaty from her walk, despite the cold. But she was sure her B.O. wasn't that bad.

Loki nodded to the bag, keeping a distance. "What's that?"

"Dinner."

"...Did you fetch it from the trash bins outside?" He questioned.

Charlotte sighed and dropped her feet from the coffee table, took her paper wrapped sub from the back and placed it on the table. Unwrapping it revealed a tuna sub sandwich. That explained the smell.

"It's only a tuna wrap." She told. "Probably shitty canned tuna, but tuna either way."

"Canned fish!?" He exclaimed, "Just put it in a barrel and let it rot in the sun, why don't you?"

"Are you on your period or something? What is wrong with you?" She snapped,

Loki pointed to the sandwich, as if it was the main problem. With a groan, Charlotte wrapped it up and marched to the stairs. "Where are you going?" He asked, frowning.

"To eat in peace! Or do you need to babysit me doing that too?" She barked over the railing, disappearing into her room in the loft.

Loki threw his arms up. "Are you really that bothered by my presence today?" He was responded with silence. "Oh well, you better get used to it." He warned. "Your boss personally requested me to see how well you play with others."

Charlotte reappeared at the railing, biting into her tuna sub in a sloppy manner. "And why's that?" She took a large inhuman bite. "In relation to my promotion?"

Loki folded his arms, "In fact, might I suggest be less despotic and-"

"What did you just called me?" She asked.

Loki paused, "A control freak." he corrected. "Someone who can't handle having another person take charge. As I see it, the need for constant control is either in thought of never having it, or the fear of situations going wrong in someone else's' hands." He looked up, smiling in a smug manner.

Charlotte eyed him, but then chuckled. "Thanks Loki, I'll be thinking about that tonight."

Loki nodded, "Glad I could be of assistance." and made his way back to his room.

"Oh, uh, Loki?" She called him back to which he returned. Just standing under the railing to look up at her.

Instead of words, what he got was a sudden disgusting glob of tuna that had been oozing out of Charlotte's sub, splattered right onto the top of Loki's head. He groaned in disgust, feeling the cold, gooey wetness in his hair.

"Charlotte!" He bellowed, reaching up to scoop it out, but only rubbed it into his dark hair more. "Ugh!" He gagged, once the scent hit his nose from his head.

"Oh my gosh! So sorry!" She gave an innocently fake gasp. "I must have lost control over that, my bad. But hey, don't let me be autocratic on how to get that out. I'll let you handle it."

Charlotte disappeared, both with her sub and her sarcasm. Loki felt like gagging, the cold slop on his head sinking into his scalp.

"Not even a spell could rid me of this stench." He muttered, making his way to the bathroom for a long shower.

"I took another day off, just so I can spend a little bit longer here."

A woman answered her phone, walking home from seeing her partner. The beautiful brunette chuckled, blushing at the response she heard.

"Dad, I know you want that ring on my finger… Yes it has been 4 years. But, Charlie and I want to take it slow. Y'know how hard it would be for us? It's not even legal."

She paused at a cross way. The only way home was the street lights, bundled into her coat and scarf. She shuddered in the cold, nodding at her father's words through the phone. The brunette continued, turning on a corner where the street lights hadn't been replaced yet, making it darker beyond the shadow of the buildings. Her heeled boots clicked upon the pavement, almost tripping in a small crack in the cement.

"No, no." She laughed, her breath released into the air and voice echoing into the night. "No! Don't say anything, that's just pressure and pressured marriage doesn't count." She nodded, sighing with a smile.

"Alright, I'll let you get to bed, Dad. I'll be back home… Wednesday I hope? Hard to say with the season and traveling this year." She told. "Love you too, night Dad."

The second the phone beeped, the brunette was pushed to the ground. She screamed as a heavy weight kept her down, tight hands gripping her wrists and another hand shoving a cloth into her mouth to silence her. Her arms and legs were bound and she was picked up like a hunting trophy, and taken away into the night.

"I'd thought you'd like to know," Loki spoke, "It took my entire washing supplies to get the smell out of my hair." He grumbled at Charlotte as they walked to the station.

"Really? Guess you'll have to do some shopping today instead." She mused uncaringly.

Loki kept pressing his hand over his hair, making sure no fish eye he swore he saw was in his scalp. "You should invest in a door to lock tonight." He warned.

Charlotte scoffed, her hands shoved into her coat pockets. "Got me shaking in my sneakers, Loki." He sent her a look. "You gonna put tuna in my hair?"

He grinned, "Much worse, I promise. Perhaps give you that haircut you've always wanted?" Loki growled a low chuckled.

That made Charlotte put her hands over her head. "Do that, and I swear I'll shave your head."

Finding amusement of who can do who best, Loki countered back. "Maybe instead of cutting the hair, how about growing more like a monkey?"

Charlotte gave him a weird look, finding the latest threat a big bluff. "What, turn me into Bigfoot?"

Loki frowned, "Why would I make your feet large?" he questioned.

Charlotte stopped short, her eyes wide at him with an even funnier look. "Bigfoot?" She repeated, Loki stopped and looked back at her. "...Bigfoot, sasquatch, skunk ape-"

He stopped her, raising a hand. "You've lost me."

She folded her arms, "You've never heard of a cryptid before?" Charlotte asked, resuming their walk.

"Never heard of the term, I assure." He replied.

"I guess there aren't any in Norway, huh?" They turned a corner, now a few blocks from the precinct. "A paranormal creature, I guess they're called. Bigfoot is a large human ape-like creature, said to roam around North America."

"So a gorilla?" He inquired.

"Not really." She shot down. "He walks and moves like humans, but is hairy and known to be extremely tall. Some people think he's the missing link." She told.

"Missing link?" He asked

Charlotte sent a look. "The missing link between the evolution of monkeys to humans." She explained. "Maybe you should try Googling these."

Loki would take to just doing so, but the way she explained things was better. Not to mention, different sites would give him different information. He personally didn't trust Google.

"Tell me more of these cryptids. Any one that lives around here?" He asked, intrigued.

Charlotte laughed, "The city? No way, I don't think Pennsylvania even has its own cryptid." She thought for a few seconds as they stopped at a crosswalk, then she snapped her fingers. "The Jersey Devil."

"A devil?" He asked.

She nodded, the light allowed them to cross. "This weird story- Aw, what was it?" Charlotte bit her lip, trying to remember what weird combinations it had. "If I remember, I'll tell you. Maybe we can get a book on it after work. If you're interested?"

Loki chuckled, more kindly than before. "Sounds ideal, though I wonder if I prefer cutting your hair, still." he teased.

Charlotte laughed, wagging a finger at him. "Hey, if we get you some books on some weird shit in this country, no cutting my hair. Or growing it, however weird a way you'd try to."

"You call it weird, I call it magic." He replied under his breath.

After Charlotte changed into her uniform and met up with Mack, they were assigned to drive around Center City and University City around the Philadelphia Museum. A relatively easy day, though it didn't start quite as smooth as Charlotte would've hoped. As there was a small delay to getting on their beat.

"I am not sitting in the back." Loki protested.

"It's the only spot open for you, you're the ride along." Mack argued back "You ride along in the back."

Loki scoffed, "You can't sit in the back because…?" He threw at him. Mack made a motion to his person, as if the state of his police uniform answered the question. "Yes, it's hideous. Wherefore?"

Mack blinked, once again stumped by one of Loki's 'smarty' words. "You mean therefore."

"Wherefore." Loki repeated, his hands folded behind his back. "I know, a difficult word for you to understand." Charlotte pinched the bridge of her nose, clocking this to be going on for a solid eleven minutes by now.

Mack ground his teeth, yanking the back door to the police car. "Just get in the car."

Loki then shut the door, Mack glared and opened the door, only to have Loki shut it again. Mack was huffing and puffing, leading this to be a game of open and close the door. Officers in the lot glanced over as the slamming of the door kept gaining others' attention. The two eventually near wrestled for the handle until Loki growled and stomped over to Charlotte who silently watched.

"Tell him that I will not sit in the back like a caged criminal." Loki insisted.

A brow was raised, then she crossed her arms and gave him a look. "Should I though?"

Loki frowned at her, "Yes, you should." he told her.

Charlotte feigned ignorance, tapping her finger to her chin. "I think Mack should be in charge today."

"What?" The two men barked, even Mack was shocked.

She shrugged. "Don't want to become despotic, y'know."

Loki then realized she was getting back at his words from last night. He took a breath and rubbed his nose. "I would prefer you would be despotic to this current notion."

"Can you guys use English, please?" Mack muttered from the side. Clearly not knowing the term they kept repeating.

Charlotte raised her hands and stepped back, shaking her head. "You guys figure this out." She told, then walked around the car and into the driver's seat. Despite not taking lead into the petty argument, she was going to still drive nonetheless.

The men glared at one another, Loki tempted to just wave his hands and have the man get pulled toward another car just to take the passenger seat. Was this childish…. Maybe. But why should he sit in the back with the petty cage?

Mack decided to try a different method. "Do you have something against sitting in the back seat? Car sickness?"

Loki scoffed, "Carsick, please." he shook his head. "I just simply rather not ride around like a common prisoner throughout the city."

"You're not going to be handcuffed in it, no one will think that." Mack then chuckled, hands on his belt. "Man, a bit self conscious, huh?"

The god was offended, his eyes narrowing at him. "I am anything but self conscious, Zack."

"Mack."

"It would make more sense for the guest rider," He motions to himself., "to be up front to see the action that occurs in the city."

Mack was growing frustrated again. He dealt with delinquents easier than this man. "No, see, that defeats the purpose of us keeping you safe in the back and us moving in to take action from the front."

Loki gave a hearty laugh, patted Mack's shoulder. Mack growled, "What is so damn funny!?"

"You, of course! 'Keep me safe'. That is farcical at its finest!"

"Speak like a normal human being, jeez!"

The blare of a horn made the two men jump and cover their ears, finding Charlotte leaning on the car horn of the vehicle. Once she let go, she stuck her head through the window as they lowered their hands.

"If you two don't get in the car in the next five seconds, I will handcuff you together and throw you both in the back seat for the entire day. Understand?"

The men blinked and didn't take her threat lightly. Loki wouldn't put past her to do such a thing, and despite the fact that he could always magic his way around it, it wasn't worth the stress to even think about doing it. They gave each other a look, "Truce?" Loki offered.

"Truce." Mack agreed.

Silently, Loki slid into the back seat and Mack into the passenger seat. Charlotte heaved a sigh, rolling her eyes. "Men are such children."

The back seat wasn't as bad as Loki had assumed. It looked cramped and small like an animal cage, but sitting behind Charlotte gave him more room. Her seat was moved up more then Mack's giving Loki leg room, he was still able to see anything through the caged divider and the windows to his left and right.

They had driven through Center City for about two hours, and Loki was growing restless and bored. He would hear the chatter from the radio, have people come up to them at red lights to ask questions, but nothing too exciting. Loki kept huffing and puffing sighs from the back seat, like a child bored in a clothing store. Charlotte was ignoring him just fine, but looks were sent to him through the mirror from Mack. Loki almost started a few things on the street with pedestrians just to rile the day up. Freeze ice, trip someone up, he even tricked a woman into smacking a man behind her thinking that pinch she felt was from him. Loki picked up a few ideas thanks to that Home Alone boy. Despite the efforts, none of these events caught the two officers' attention to be concerned with.

"You feel like hoagies or pizza for lunch?" Mack asked.

Charlotte hummed, "I had a hoagie last night, though pizza is tempting, I need to watch my weight." she told.

Mack leaned back and looked her up and down. "What weight?" He asked, making her give a look. "No, really, Char! I don't get why you keep dieting or doing extra workouts when you don't look fat at all."

"I'm sitting down, Mack. It's my legs I'm tryin to trim down." She told him.

"And they're fine." He waved off, looking out his window. "We'll get a pizza, just had vegetables on your slice. No fruit though." Mack warned.

"You're lucky you're a man, Mack." She commented.

Mack turned to her. "Why this time? Because we can pee standing up or we don't have to worry about bras and periods?" When she laughed he shook his head, amused. "It's not all perfection, we have our problems too."

"Does that include retaining water and being unable to control the fat in your body?" She countered.

"What fat? I seriously don't see any on you!" He exasperated.

Loki sat up from lounging in the back as if on a chaise. "Her legs, obviously."

Charlotte whipped her head at him before looking back at the road. "Loki, go back to your nap."

"Rather not, this conversation is much more tolerable." He then looked to Mack who craned his head at him. "Five hundred forty seven now."

Mack frowned. "What? Are you counting something?" he asked.

"The number of morons in the city, and you make number five hundred forty seven." He told unfolding a smug smile behind the divider. He turned his attention toward Charlotte. "Speaking of morons, how can there be no infractions to occur? I recall the city being the heart of 'common crimes'."

"As right as you are, we sort of want nothing to happen today." She answered him. "If things go wrong- Hang on!"

The order she barked made Mack brace himself, but Loki was confused and suddenly startled when a car came colliding with them. Nothing too hard, the vehicle didn't flip or go flying, it was pushed into traffic just as someone slammed into the back end of the car. Loki was jostling in the back, failing to use his seat belt as he was lounging about.

"Shit!" Mack cursed, looking around checking Charlotte The airbags are deployed but once her's started to deflate, she was shown with no cuts or injuries.

"You okay?" She asked him, he nodded as he undid his seatbelt and got out to assess the situation. Charlotte undid her's and rushed to the back seat. "Loki! Are you hurt, any injuries or pain?"

He groaned, though being tossed gave his neck a small whiplash, he was unscathed. "Fine, fine. By the Norns," He climbed out, Charlotte offering help as she shut the door, he leaned against the car. "What happened?"

"A car hit us." She told, then saw Mack coming back over. "Distracted driving?" She asked.

"Of course!" He threw his hands up, wincing as he rubbed his neck. "Should just tape the phones to these idiots' faces."

Charlotte sighed and rubbed her shoulder. "Are you alright?" He asked, noticing her movements.

She waved him off, "Just sore from the hit. We'll be okay." then looked at Mack. "How's the driver?"

Mack was searching on the laptop, looking up the driver's ID and insurance. "He looks perfectly fine. Hey, I'm gonna move the car to the curb, alright?"

Charlotte looked around, having ignored the traffic beeping for them to move and others just moving along possibly illegally getting around the scene. "Loki, stay with Mack. I gotta direct traffic and call this in."

Loki didn't question anything, he got into the passenger's seat as Mack drove the car over to the curb, it's lights now flashing in the street. It was silent, except for Mack's typing and the computer making a few noises pings now and then. Loki looked out the window, seeing Charlotte correct the traffic as bystanders stood on the sidewalk filming with their phones. When they deemed the scene boring, they went on their way.

"Stay here." Mack told, climbing out of the car and walking to the people who hit them.

Loki watched, seeing the driver holding his arm as if it was sprained or broken. He looked to be yelling at Mack, throwing his other hand in the air then motioning towards the front fender of his car that was dented. Loki chuckled seeing Mack struggling to calm the driver down, eventually his friends, two men, joined in pointing at Mack. They must be blaming him for the accident, even though he wasn't driving.

Loki was surveying the scene, Mack having to hold his own against three stupid brutes. But once Charlotte went over to try and calm them, they started yelling at her, approaching her in a close and threatening manner. The God emerged from the car, striding his way over as he heard the yelling of profanity and broken English.

"I weren't distracted! You pigs always blamin' others for shit all the time!" He yelled, earning agreements with his buddies.

"Sir, just return to your car, more officers are on the way. Along with an ambulance to check your arm." She told, hands resting on her belt, looking the most relaxed in the situation.

"Oh, so more of your gang is showing!?" One of the buds accused, limping over, though he was over selling it. "Why? So they can take your side and throw us in jail!?"

"No one is going to jail." She told sternly.

As Loki got closer, his pace picked up when the one guy got right into Charlotte's face. Near spitting at her with a "Fuckin' pig cunt" thrown at her.

Loki got in between the two instantly, towering the man who stumbled back. "Hey! Fuck off, this don't involved you!"

"What are you doing? Get back in the car." Mack told, though a side glance glare was sent his way before refocusing on the scum before them.

The god pocketed his hands, narrowing his eyes at the men. "It would be wise of you to step to the side and silently wait for the ambulance to arrive." He told through a low and appeasing tone.

Now the man saddled up in Loki's face, eyeing him up and down. "Whatcha gonna do? You a pig sucker?" He accused, shifting his weight about as if ready to throw hands. "Yeah, you love suckin' pig dick, dontcha?"

Loki chuckled, "Not as much as you showing how insignificant your own is right now. The louder you are, the more considerable it becomes. Is that just how you make yourself feel better about its microscopic size?" he countered.

Mack's brows shot up, did Loki just insult this guy's dick size? Charlotte pinched the bridge of her nose, just wanting a day where nothing happened. Instead, it had to escalate to this.

The man looked confused by his choice of words, then looked to his friends for a moment as if to confirm he was insulted. They egged him on, telling him not to let Loki talk to him like that, making the man nod. He tugged his pants, hanging halfway down his legs, and raised his head to Loki.

"How about we settle this like real men?" He challenged, trying to pump chests against Loki's.

He groaned in disgust and pressed a palm to the man's shoulder to keep a distance between the two. "Please, I'd rather suck a Pig's genitalia than even be here smelling your wretched breath right now."

Some laughter was heard from nearby people, recording the scene before them. That must have gotten to the man, as he slapped Loki's hand away and balled a fist, reeling back to slam him. Charlotte jumped to stop the two, but Loki allowed the fist to fly, only to barely make contact. He bent back and maneuvered his head around the fist, grabbing the man's arms and flipping him over, slamming him down onto the pavement. The man cried out, grabbing his arm when Loki let go.

"You broke his arm, dude!" One friend barked.

"That's assault! Arrest him, he attacked our friend!" The other demanded.

Charlotte tugged Loki back, holding a hand up at the two. "First, he started escalating the situation." She told, Mack inspected the man's arm.

"You started it by causing a hit!"

She frowned, sending one a look. "How could we have hit you when you slammed into our back end? We had a red light, you were distracted while driving."

One of them stomped over to her, his approaching threatening. Loki didn't hesitate on grabbing the front of his shirt and throwing him aside as if he were a piece of trash. The crowd gasping and recording the event hoping it would be the next viral video. The man seemed alright, Loki was holding back on his strength. If he wanted to, he could fling him right into his car. The man got up, snarling as he tried to go for Loki. He dropped down, avoiding a fist and swiped his feet, knocking him down to the pavement. Before the third man got injured, Charlotte stepped in.

"Alright! Stop! Stop this now!" Charlotte pushed Loki away, physically putting herself between him and the men.

Loki obeyed, keeping his spot, but the third brute tried to shove past her. She showed her own by shoving the man back. "Hey! Back up!" She shoved him again, making him stumble against the curb. "I said back up, now!"

Having enough of these guys, Charlotte got her hand cuffs out and forced the man to put his hands behind him, cuffing him. "Mack! Cuff the other, I am not dealing with the street fight today!"

Mack left the man who whined about his arm against his car, and went to cuff the third man. They both shoved the two guys into the police car just as another arrived with an ambulance. Looks like the fun was over, Loki thought. He turned and looked down finding a glaring Charlotte, hands on her hips looking…. More angry than usual.

"Ah, got the two delinquents under control?" He asked.

She pointed a finger at him as an EMT came over. "I'll deal with you later." She hissed, meeting the EMT.

After the fiasco, it turned out the car wasn't even registered, no insurance and the man had a suspended license. The injuries the men had were nothing serious, including no broken arm to the driver. Mack offered to take them in with the second car, telling Charlotte to continue patrol. She agreed, having some choice words to give Loki as they made they're way to University City, the Museum of Art in sight as they pulled into the lot. Loki looked around, before turning to her.

"...Exciting day-"

"Shut up." She spat.

Loki sealed his lips shut. She sighed and turned to him. "You can't just- Today went- Loki you-" She growled and hit her steering wheel, unable to really hit anything else unless she wanted to damage the computer or blare the horn in anger. Once composed, she looked back at him.

"You can't just do what you did today." She told slowly, not for him to understand but to keep herself calm. "Starting fights with people, getting involved in police matter, nearly causing a scene- Well did cause a scene."

"They're the ones that hit us, and I'm getting scolded like a child?" He questioned. "Those louts were trying to fight you."

"Not the first time that's happened. I can handle it just fine." Charlotte pointed a finger at him. "Your job was to stay in the car, like Mack told you."

"And if they had attacked you?"

"We have the training and weapons if need be, I would've used my taser and cuffed him.

"It was three against two."

"Loki!" She barked, looking to be near seething. "You think you're helping, but you're not! You're just making things worse!"

Worse, how was he making it worse? If he hadn't jumped in, then it would've been worse.

"I had everything under control." She added.

Charlotte turned the car off and got out, slamming the door. Loki craned his neck and twisted in his seat, seeing her around the back of the car and started walking along the sidewalk, starting her beat here. He hesitated for a moment, thinking to maybe stay in the car this time. He watched as she started her walk in a heated fast pace, the paused and walked back a little calmer, at this point pacing. To others it would look like she was patrolling the parking lot area, but Loki knew she was trying to calm down.

Taking a risk, he got out of the car, bundled his coat up and took his time to approach her. She saw him and turned away, this time ending her pacing and actually walking her beat. Loki walked behind her, not saying a word but letting her have a peace of mind in the windy cold December weather.

The gray clouds hinted at possible snowfall, and with the gusts picking up along the passing traffic, it felt like a city blizzard was on its way. Despite Charlotte being in her police issued coat, it wasn't as bundled as his wool coat. She looked tense, coat buttoned, hands shoved into the pockets as the wind blew against her direction. Loki had to pull a scarf from his coat pocket, having to hide the fact it would've appeared out of thin air. With longer strides, he walked beside her and placed the scarf over her shoulder.

Thankfully, Charlotte wasn't angry as she accepted it, wrapping it around her neck. "I'm still pissed." She reminded him.

"About me getting involved." He stated, with a nod. "I understand it caused some trouble."

"I wouldn't say some, more like, a lot." She corrected. "Do you know how many angles people filmed that entire ordeal? I wouldn't put it past if I get a call from the boss any second to take my badge away."

Loki frowned, "You handled the situation very professionally. Why would you be in trouble?" he asked.

Charlotte bit back a grow, her teeth grinding in her jaw. "Because, Loki, you got in the middle and hurt two people."

"Pardon me, one was going to start a fight with you, and the other tried to attack me." He told her.

"Only because you made the whole thing worse. You should've sat in the car, let us police handle it. Mack and I had it under control."

Loki scoffed, "Control is something he did not have." he was given a harsh shove in the arm. "What?"

"Stop downing Mack, he can be a pain, but I know he has my back." She told him, Loki stopped giving a look.

"I thought I had your back." Charlotte rolled her eyes up and stopped, looking back at him. "We're friends, we watch out for each other, have each other's backs covered in danger." He explained.

"Being friends is one thing," Charlotte marched up to him, looking up at his towering stature. "Getting involved in my job when you were just a ride along is another. What if you got hurt? What if they pull a gun and shoot you? Then what?"

Loki bit back a grin, guns were impervious to him. Weak little weapons humans seem to love to have. "Nonsense, I would've subdued him before he had a chance."

"You don't know that."

"I do, Charlotte. Trust me, I do." Loki insisted.

She shook her head, tightening the scarf around her as her hair blew around her face. "Why do you have to act like you know everything? As if you got the answer to every question? That you have to take the first action before anyone?" Her eyes pierced into his, shifting between his eyes as if finding something.

"You're a control freak." Charlotte accused.

Loki did a double take at her, leaning back on the heels of his feet. "Me, a control freak?"

"Yes!" She barked.

"Impossible."

Charlotte threw her hands up, laughing in awe by his denial. "You claimed I have a problem, but really you got it. You can't handle someone else taking care of a situation, thinking something will go wrong."

"Because it will." He confirmed.

She spread her arms out, motioning at him in exasperation. "That's being a control freak!"

Loki sighed. "When you have an oaf like my brother who gets into danger and has to have me get him out of it, it becomes a habit." He threw out, counting the numerous times to himself he had to get Thor out of trouble.

"So you get out by agitating people and getting them to start fights with you?" She questioned.

Loki opened his mouth, but kept silent. That actually sounded like something Thor would've done. Charlotte shook her head and continued her walk, Loki still followed behind her.

"What if the man had brandished a gun on you?" He asked.

Charlotte tapped the grip of her own gun on her right hip. "What do you think this is for?" She countered.

"If he shot you first?"

"Then Mack shoots him or I shoot, if it wasn't fatel."

"And if fatel?"

"...Then I die." She answered simply, making Loki stride up beside her. "Being a cop means knowing everyday I could be shot and killed."

"And you accept that?" He asks.

"If I didn't, I wouldn't be wearing the badge, would I?" She told, oddly calm by her claim of possible death.

Loki frowned. "But you'd never make it to a detective. The dream job you always wanted."

"If my death means someone else lives, then that's the way it goes." She told, looking up at him. "Being a cop doesn't just mean I'm ready to die or take a bullet, Loki. It means I protect the public, including your ass."

He paused, realizing why she was truly cross with him. Not for trying to take control of the situation or defending her from possible danger. The fact he put himself in harm's way. Loki knew he was never to be hurt, he could take on ten times as many humans and take them all down without a hair out of place.

Charlotte didn't know this. He was just another human from another country for all she knew. One that could bleed and die as easily as she could. Times like this, Loki forgot she didn't know the whole truth of who he was nor the powers he contained. He could shoot all three men with his energy blasts, summon his daggers and send one into each of their throats, or even transform into something terrifying for them. But no, instead he made more trouble for Charlotte. And who's to say her boss, Johnson, won't chastise her on the incident. Like she said, she was expecting a call at any moment.

Deciding to leave her on her beat, Loki turned and walked back to the car to wait for her return. It didn't take long, as when he opened the door, Charlotte came marching up with a frown of distress on her features going for the driver's side.

"Boss is calling us in." She grumbled, climbing into the car.

Loki slouched in the passenger's seat. Dread sunk into his stomach.

Had he just cost Charlotte her job?
