"Well ain't that a surprise. You two are like what? Royalty or somethin'?" the human female with glasses asked the moment all of them returned to the building the demon hunters used as their base of operations, Devil May Cry.
After they arrived, the more human than demon half breed, Nero, had told his human fiancé, Kyrie, that the two demons that had returned with them were part of some underworld rebellion. Or at least that was the most plausible explanation he could give her.
Frankly, she found it to be an amusing excuse, but one that worked given the circumstances. Naturally when she mentioned that she and Ares wished to form an alliance with the demon hunters, they had all been on their guard. It was only because of Trish, a semi-full blooded demon like them, vouching for them and their words as demon nobility to trust them enough to let them return with them in the first place.
The ride back in the… vehicle was a little less pleasant. She couldn't remember the last time she had been nearly flung from side to side. Ares hadn't seemed all that happy about it either but was wise enough to keep his mouth shut. The last thing they needed was to insult the human steering the mechanical beast.
"Nobility, yes," Aspasia answered Nicoletta's question, her legs crossed over each other as her hands rested on her knees. Trish had been kind enough to offer the twins a cup of tea as a silent form of respect for them.
From what she had heard from Mundus, Trish wasn't all that happy with their kind, not that she could blame her. Most of them were nothing more than sludge stuck to the bottom of her shoe. Quite literally half the time. Yet she still seemed to possess some form of submission in the face of higher ranked demons.
Funny, she would have thought the semi-daughter of the great ruler of the underworld to be a bit more fierce. Not that she was going to try her luck against the other woman. She accepted the offer and left her cup on the big wooden desk beside her to cool some as she explained who and what her brother were.
"So what are two demon hotshots doing all the way in the human realm?" Dante asked, leaning back at the head of the desk, his feet up on it. Clearly comfortable. She would have been amused by his arrogant nature, if not for the fact that he too, like Trish, shared blood with Mundus through his brother, Sparda.
"I believe we told you before. We are here to form an alliance with you and your… group," Aspasia informed him, nearly cringing at the lack of a better word for the group standing before them.
"For what reason?" the other woman in the room inquired. Lady, if the dossier they had received on the hunters was accurate.
"It would prove prudent to inform you of our reasons, but I do believe that you humans have some expression about not showing all your cards at once. For now what I can tell you is that my brother and I aren't too pleased with the current regime."
"So in short, you want to start a rebellion?" Lady questioned with an arched brow. Aspasia smirked. This woman was definitely interesting in the wit department.
"Not so much as start one, as to gain our freedom from it. You see, as interesting as the demon world can be, it has become rather… stale. What we are in search of, for lack of a better word, is entertainment. We were hoping that you and your compatriots would be so kind as to let us experience that."
"You wish to kill your own kind? But why?" the woman tucked into Nero's side asked, her face one of horror at the thought of a demon killing its own kind. Aspasia merely gestured to the man beside her, not missing how his hand reflectively tightened around her waist.
"I do believe that is something you should ask your male, my dear. After all, he is not all that different from a demon than we are. His blood is merely diluted."
Shame crossed the boy's face. Frankly, she found it cute, but kept her opinion to herself. Kyrie might be meek in appearance, but a rule even amongst her own kind was that you didn't go stalking another's partner like prey.
"Ugh, cut the crap already," Dante groaned, throwing his legs over the desk, resting his arm on his knee. Ares nearly tensed at the scrutinizing look the half-demon gave them. "You two wanna kill demons. That right?"
Aspasia gave a nod. Dante responded with his own.
"That settles it. You're now part of Devil May Cry. Your jobs are simple. Kill any demon that proves to be a problem, get your own place to crash, don't go killing humans and order some pizza already."
Aspasia blinked, looking to her twin in confusion. He only shrugged his response.
" Oh, you two have a lot to learn," Nico grinned, holding some handheld device in her hand.
