Hello, welcome to another chapter. For those wondering what happened to this chapter, I decided to do a little bit of rewriting, as well as fix some errors. Sorry for the confusion everyone.
I don't own Black Clover, but you knew that.
THE BLIND SWORDSMAN
CHAPTER 6
In the morning
Asta was stretching after getting out of bed. He then got dressed, grabbed his grimoire and his robe. He sensed that there was a anti-bird on the window but since it was just sitting there instead of pecking him, he paid no mind to it. He then sensed someone at his door. It turns out to be Magna, so he opened the door for him.
"Hello, Magna."
"Sup my blind amigo, are you ready for tour?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"Good. Now, do you need help getting around?"
"I can follow you by your aura, just avoid any road bumps." Asta asked as Magna understood what he meant and started leading him around the base.
What Magna showed him The Men's Bath, which was huge. Where the girl's room was at, but Asta sensed was trap magic and Magna explained that the traps will set off if they walked past it. The room where they kept the wild beasts at, Asta walked back to keep his distance from them. Since Asta already knew about the Dining Hall and his room, Magna felt no need to show him. Magna was about to show him more but someone has walked through the entrance of their base.
It was another new recruit. It was a girl with her silver hair in two ponytails. Asta sensed her aura and it was the one he felt when the team walked into the building last night.
"Ah, there you are. Asta, this is your new comrade." Magna greeted him to the new teammate and Asta walked up to her.
"Hello, I'm Asta from Hage. Let us both do our best." Asta held his hand out, waiting for a hand shake.
But then Asta sensed some hostility in her aura. Before she could slap his hand away, Asta moved his hand out the way, avoiding the slap.
"Don't address me so casually, little insect." She said harshly to him.
'Oh Great.' Asta sarcastically thought to himself.
"I am Noelle, a member of the Silva Royal Family." Noelle stated to Asta, but he didn't care about that. What really caught his attention was that she was a Silva, like that one person he made a long time ago.
"Wait, Silva? as in Nozel Silva?"
Noelle hesitated to answer. "Yes, that's my brother."
"Cool. I met him when I was a kid." Asta said.
"I don't believe your false statement."
"What, I did!" Asta retaliated back before remembering what she said earlier. "Wait a minute... Who are you calling a insect?! We are at the same level, regarding of social status!"
"That's right! You tell her, Asta!" Said Magna, who is also a peasant.
Noelle sighed. "it seems that it will take more than words for you peasants to understand." She aimed her hand at Asta and Magna and mana started coming from her hand. "It seems I'll have to show you the differences in our powers."
Noelle created a big ball of water and Asta and Magna was focusing on how much mana she was releasing.
"Next time, remember you place when speaking to me, peasants." The spell was finished and was ready to be launch. Magna was worried about the attack that was aimed at them, waiting for the Royal to release the attack on them.
But she didn't launch it. She saw that Magna was worried about getting attack, but he wasn't the reason why she hesitated.
It was Asta. It was reasonable for Magna to be frightened of the attack, he being a peasant and her being Royalty. But Asta has even most reasons why he should be frightened. He was a not only a peasant, but she didn't sensed even a little bit of mana in him. He should been terrified.
But he wasn't. While Magna was a bit scared, Asta just stood there, with his hand in his pockets and not a single speck of fright on his face.
'Why isn't he scared? I'm Royalty! Shouldn't he see how much magic I have?'
These thoughts ran through Noelle's head. She then sees Asta's white eyes opened a bit wider. She thought that he had finally came to his senses about the situation in front of him.
Asta sighed.
"So are you going to launch it?"
Magna and Noelle was caught off guard by what Asta has said.
She did not like that. Asta was not only showing no respect to her social status and power, but he was showing impatience towards her, treating her like she was wasting his time. Angered, she launched the ball of water at them. Wasting no time, Asta grabbed Magna by his elbow and moved him out the way the moment the ball change towards his direction and hits the wall. This left Noelle surprised.
"You got guts, I give you that. If it wasn't for Asta, you could have hit me." Magna told her. "Now I don't care if you're royalty. Mister Yami's the only guy who take on a shrew like you. Show some gratitude."
Noelle then grabbed her robe and threw it on the ground. "I wouldn't be in this group even if you paid me." She then walked back out the base.
"Thanks back there." Magna thanked Asta. "How did you know that she was aiming for me?"
"She wasn't." Asta told him, which confused Magna. "Anyway, shall we continue?"
Magna thought about it. "Actually, that's about it. You're free until there's a mission. If you need something, call me." Magna walked off.
As Magna walked off, Asta was thinking about what he sensed from Noelle. The moment she walked in the base, he sensed that her aura flow was unsteady, giving him a feeling of unconfident. He sensed it in her magic as well. He decide not to talk to her, thinking that she just needs some time to herself and walked off.
Asta started walking off to his room. Strangely enough, The hall was set in a way that made it easy for walk to his room. It was like the area has changed itself. Not only that, he sensed that one aura that wasn't there to greet him when he first arrived. It made him wonder, who else was in this base?
As he finally made it to where his room is, he saw someone's aura in front of his door. When he sensed the aura, he figured out that it was Grey.
"Hi Grey." Asta greeted Grey, who is transformed to look like Asta, and Grey turned to him.
"Hi, uh... can we talk?" Grey asked Asta. Asta opened the door, let Grey in his room and closed the door behind them.
"So, I'm guessing that you want to talk about your actual form?" Asta asked Grey. Grey responded by deactivating his spell, causing some smoke as well. When the smoke cleared up, it reveals a young woman a bit taller than Asta with light blue hair. Grey was nervous about this, as evidence by the flow of her aura and the blush on her face.
"H-h-how did you-" Grey was having trouble speaking, so Asta stopped her.
"When Finral was introducing us, I sensed active mana coming from you." Asta answered her.
"O-oh, right." Grey said, blushing.
"So does anyone else know?"
"Well, I-I'm not really sure."
"So why do you show me, if you don't mind me asking."
"W-well... it's because you're blind." Grey realized that what she said didn't sound good. "I-I don't mean it like that! I m-mean that since you're blind, hanging out with you might help with my shyness."
"Sure, we can hang out."
"R-really!?"
"Yeah, I have no pro-" Before Asta could respond, Grey ran to him and gave him a tight hug.
"Oh, thank you for helping me out! I really appreciate it, I really do!"
Grey then blushed when she realized what she doing and let Asta go, letting him catch his breath.
"You're welcome."
Grey gave Asta a shy smile. "Hey, Can you keep this-"
"Your secret's safe with me." Asta told her which made her smile.
"Thank you Asta." Grey said before transforming back into Asta. "Anyway, I'll leave to your some ownsome. Bye!" Grey waved as she exit out of Asta's room.
"She's nice." Asta then grabbed his grimoire and opened it up. "She has cool magic for someone as shy as her."
Asta then took off his Demon-Slayer Sword and started swinging the sword around for practice. After a while, Charmy went to get him for dinner. After stuffing his face with Charmy's delicious food, he slowly went back into his room and crash on the bed.
A few hours later
Asta woke up as he has to use the bathroom. As he was heading to the bathroom, he realized 2 things.
One, he forgot where the bathroom was.
And Two, even if he remembered, he has no way of actually finding his way to the bathroom.
He stopped and sense to see where he was, but once he heard the tree's leaves, he figured out that he was outside.
'Huh. This is going to take some time getting used of.'
He then sensed a mana source in a certain direction. He went to go follow the source of mana, to find Noelle. Noelle was creating some water balls, aiming at something he couldn't sense, which was a tree. The moment she attack him and Magna when they first met, he knew why her aura has a flow that lack confidence.
She lack control of her magic.
Noelle was trying to hit a target on the tree but every single time, it would redirect away from her target.
"Why. Can't. I. Hit. It?!" Noelle said with frustration before falling on her knees in exhaustion. "So it's true. What they said about me."
Noelle had tears in her eyes as she started to remember all of the times where her siblings would mistreat her because of her lack of control. How they called her worthless, a embarrassment to the Silva Family and how she should have died instead of mother. She then had a face of determination and stood right back up and aimed at the tree again.
"No, I will prove them wrong. I will make them accept me!" Noelle stated to herself, as she started launching some more at the target. After a while, she then sees Asta walking out of the bushes.
"You! What are you doing here?" Noelle asked in anger.
"I was looking for the bathroom but I got lost." Asta started to head back to the direction he came from. "Speaking of which, I still have to go so I'll leave you to your own."
"Hold it right there!" Noelle demanded Asta, in which he stopped in his tracks. "I need answers. Why wasn't you scared when we first met?"
Asta was thinking for a response to tell her, but he couldn't think of one. "I... Just wasn't."
Asta answered to her, hoping she would believe that as his answer. But she didn't. She knows that this guy was not telling her the truth and she was going to find out what that truth was.
"You and me, right now."
"Wait, are you sure that's a good idea?" Asta said concerningly.
"Yes I'm sure!" Noelle shouted at him, creating and launching a water ball at him. But Asta moved out the way as the ball moved a different direction. Seeing Asta avoid her attacks, especially with ease was just angering her even more.
"That's what I mean, What are you not telling me?!"
She angrily asked as she launched more at him. As he was moving away from her He sensed her mana and noticed that she was releasing more than she can control.
"Hey, how about we can calm down and talk-"
Before he could finish his sentence, she lost control and ended up creating a huge ball of water. It was about the size of the base itself and it managed to catch the rest of the Black Bulls members attention, the ball also sent Asta back a few. While he was flying back, he sensed Noelle in the ball and from what he saw from her mana flow, she was in trouble.
Asta quickly took out his katana with the white energy activated and position himself ready for landing. As he landed on the ground, he stabbed the sword into the ground, slowing himself down and stopping right next to Yami.
From what Asta "see"
(In his usually sight of nothing was a line of white energy on the cut that he made. The white line shrunk as he started to pull out the sword and when he fully pulled out, the white energy disperse out. When it dispersed, What happened next shocked Asta. What Asta saw was an outline of the environment in front of him. From the trees, to the details of the grass, and to the structure of the base. It only lasts for about 2 seconds, but those seconds was enough for him.)
Asta was taking in what he had just saw. It was... intriguing to say the least.
"Asta." Yami called for Asta's attention, knocking him out of his train of thought. "I'm going to need you to cut the spell."
"Uh Captain. I'm not sure how I'm going to reach-"
"Shut up, kid." Yami demanded menacingly, which shut Asta up quick. "There's no time for self-doubt, It's time for you to push pass your limits!" Yami then picked Asta by his head and threw him at the water ball. Asta deactivated to white energy and activated the anti-energy and made a cut in the ball, negating the large spell entirely. As Asta fell the air in his face, he realized that he was now falling.
'Oh, I'm falling.' Asta then fully realized what was happening. 'Oh shit, I'm Falling!'
Spatial Magic: Fallen Angel Gate
Finral created a portal in front of the falling Asta and Noelle and created another one near him. The two fell in the portal and fell out of the other. While Noelle laid on the ground, Asta had his hands touching the ground as he was breathing heavily and sweating a bit.
'God, that was terrifying.' Asta thought.
He had jumped off trees and landed safely many times before, but he has never fell from that height before. As he caught his breathe and gathered his composure, He then stood up and turned to Noelle.
"Hey, you." Asta called Noelle, which caused her to twitch.
'Oh no. They're going to fun of me.' Noelle thought.
"That is some crazy magic you got there!" The sudden compliment caught Noelle by surprise. "I don't even have mana, I'm jealous! If you train to control your magic, you'll be unstoppable!"
"So you couldn't control your mana? That's it? You could have told us sooner, you royal failure." Magna said. "We are the Black Bulls. A whole group of failures. That little flaw of yours ain't a big deal, idiot."
"In any case, I'm glad you're safe. By the way, I know this great pasta place. Care to join me?" Finral asked her.
"Here, take a bite out of this." Charmy said, offering a bite of her food.
"Magic control is what I'm best at. I'll teach you." Vanessa said.
With all of this being saying, Noelle was tearing up. For most of her life, she had faced the torment that the nobles and her siblings have given her. But this was kindness. Except for her cousin, she have never experienced kindness like this. She has never been this happy before, Asta felt it in her aura as well. Asta then walked to her.
"Here." Asta often her a hand up.
"Thank you... very much." Noelle said as she tearfully accepted Asta's hand, as a rainbow appeared in the background.
