Chapter 1: New beginnings
A raven-haired beauty hopped out of a small 63' chevy impala; Her hair tied back in a low pony and skin covered in a sheen of glittering perspiration. The heat of the early September day was unbearable, at a record breaking 32 degrees; she dressed in a light green wife-beater with an unbuttoned men's dress shirt over top.
"Kagome! Stop standing around, we gotta get going before the wave of fresh meat get here!" The beauty's best friend since diapers, a taller girl equally as beautiful with long, brown hair tied back in a high ponytail whined. She was clad in a light pink tank top and some muted green cargo pants with chains dangling from the belt loops.
"Sango relax, it's going to be alright. We did arrive two hours early after all, shouldn't we be able to take our time moving into the dorm?" Kagome turned around taking a deep breath of fresh air in, hips holding up a pair of baggy dark-wash denim jeans. "I guess it wouldn't hurt to get moving though…" she caved after watching her feisty friend's pouting face. Marching over to where Sango was starting to unload all their worldly possessions.
As they made their way into the dorm hall, they noticed that it was more of an apartment block; with beautiful marble flooring and pristine white walls that were adorned with a variety of paintings. Too distracted by the beauty of their new home, they walked over to the elevator and pressed the 'up' button. But, instead of hitting the button, Kagome's hand hit a piece of paper that read 'Elevator closed for maintenance, please use the stairs'. Both girls let out animalistic groans, stairs just weren't their thing. And so, ever begrudgingly, they lugged their boxes and suitcases up the stairs of the WAY too tall dorm building; just figures they would get a dorm at the very top. Their grunts and frustrated talking came so a slow as they carefully brought up the final boxes. Setting them in the middle of the living room of their new dorm with a thump, they settled themselves onto the cool floor and let a comfy silence take over; only the sounds of their heavy breathing and slight shuffling filled the air, that is, until Sango's stomach growled ferociously.
"Hey Sango, do you wanna go get some lunch?" Kagome finally spoke after a long silence, now filled only with the sounds of their groaning stomachs.
"Of course I do, stupid! Let's go." She practically screamed, the echo of their empty apartment only amplifying the noise.
In a blink of an eye, they had slipped their shoes on and were out the door, making their way to the stairs for what seemed like the fiftieth time that hour.
As they left their dorm building, they froze. Outside the sanctuary they would now call home, a swarm of sweaty bodies bumbled about, a complete 180 from the quiet campus they had walked through earlier that morning, Stress levels were high and people were knocking into each other left and right. The campus had to have been one of the most prestigious colleges in Japan, Shikon Academy.
"Jeeze, look at all the fresh meat. It is a good thing we got here before the moving day frenzy!" Exclaimed the dark-haired beauty, to which the woman on her left only nodded in solemn agreement.
Finally moving after what seemed like staring for a while, the goddesses started toward the crowd with a jerk. Dodging fumbling freshmen ever-so gracefully; they had gotten a lot of stares, though the young women had yet to notice as they were deep into a debate on whether tomatoes were a fruit or not. They had made it to the parking lot in a matter of minutes, it never ceased to amaze them how much time could pass when they were talking with each-other. Jumping back into the old impala, they turned on the radio; the song that came on just happened to be Kagome's favourite song, Stay with Me by the one and only Miki Matsubura. The song had always made Kagome think about love, a need, a longing for somebody; it never failed to make Kagome happy, even though the lyrics were melancholy and represented the longing that came with being in love, they made her want to find that special person for her even more. To feel the longing and missing them when they weren't around, or the complete and utter joy when they were together. That's what love was about right? Thoughts of her past relationship had taken over her mind. No, stop thinking about that kags. It's not good for you brain.
The old car was suddenly jolted to a stop, ripping Kagome from her thoughts; only now realizing that the song had ended and they were on a small road that went through a peaceful neighborhood. She looked over to where Sango was sitting in the driver's seat, seeing her friend was quite angered. The brown-haired woman had frustratedly unbuckled her seatbelt and threw the car door open, stomping over to another car that had almost collided with their own. The car in question was a bright red dodge challenger with a white racing stripe travelling the length of the side.
'What a pretty car' thought Kagome as the hesitantly opened the door and gracefully stepped out, fully prepared to keep her hot-tempered friend from murdering the other driver.
What she wasn't prepared for was the Handsome hanyou with ghostly white hair to be the one arguing with her dearest friend. The moment she caught a glimpse of his celestial appearance she had immediately looked him up and down, practically drooling; on his feet were a pair of pristine red and white Jordans, slowly trailing her gaze upward she got a good look at his ripped denim jeans and tight red graphic tee. His body looked like it was carved by the Kami and she finally raised her stare to his head; there she saw a flicker of what looked like…. dog…. ears? Now this was the cutest thing she had seen in a while, and she kind of wanted to…. Touch them? This was getting weird, she shouldn't be oogling this god of a demon and should instead focus on the situation at hand.
Kagome calmly walked over to the bickering individuals and stepped into the heated conversation; only to be completely blown off by both her friend and the handsome stranger.
"You're the one who is in the wrong here! I was going the speed limit and was in the correct lane!" Sango all but yelled.
"I was driving in the same lane I have been for the past ten minutes! You pulled into my lane without so much as a blinker you crazy hag!" The handsome stranger exclaimed, the whole sentence dripping with ire; he still hadn't noticed the small, raven-haired girl next to him.
Kagome cleared her throat so she would grab the attention of both parties. "Excuse me but is there something wrong here? There is no damage to either one of our cars so I would assumed that we would only have to apologize to each other and go our separate ways?" The smouldering golden eyed man had finally looked over to her small form, he had noticed her scent before but had written her off as a passerby. Now getting a closer look, and smell, a slight blush had graced his chiselled face; she looked like a goddess, her wavy raven locks framing her round face perfectly, with big sky blue eyes filled with innocence and curiosity; as well as rosy, plump lips, they looked so soft, like they would bruise at the slightest kiss. Her body was small and curvy, a full chest had greeted his eyes when he looked down and her hips were so full, he could just grab them. But his favourite part of that tiny body of her, were her legs; long and thick, though she only stood at a solid 5'2, looking like an oompa loompa next to his 6'3. He had seen an image of those beautifully delicate legs wrapped around his waist. he had to keep himself from pouncing on the poor girl right then and there.
Apparently, the girl had noticed the look in his eyes as he raked them over her body and crossed her arms in front of her as a means of covering up, blushing rather aggressively.
"Feh" was all the tall man had pushed out of his lungs before Sango started to yell again, not missing the lust in the stranger's eyes. After all information had been exchanged the stranger took his leave, bowing to the girls and speeding off into the distance. Why was he leaving again? He couldn't remember anything but that beautiful young woman who had stepped into his conversation. All the yelling long forgotten. Her scent was so intoxicating, she smelled like lilies and honey, it was a blessing to his sensitive nose in the city filled with smoke from cars; but he feared that he would jump her at any given moment so he had done the only rational he could think of; leave as soon as he possibly could. He had stared long enough that he would have a mental image in his brain for days. All he could think was that he needed to find her, no matter what. With that he drove away to his dorm at Shikon Academy.
They had barely bowed back before he had sped off into the distance, leaving them coughing due to the smoke his blood red challenger had produced. After hacking up half of her lungs Kagome had made her way to the passenger door of Sango's car.
"Are you gonna cough all day or are you driving to the deli!" Kagome screamed in a joking manner.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming…" She replied.
During the short ride to the local deli, the girls indulged in comfortable banter about the whole situation they had just been through.
Both thinking that they will never see the silver haired hanyou again.
Little did they know, that this was only the beginning of the chaos that was to come…..
