Heath returns from the latest tour on Halloween evening, Wade looking up. "Hey, you're back just in time for trick or treating." His vague teasing fades away when he realizes just how pale Heath is. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asks, putting a bookmark in between the pages of what he was reading and standing up to join Heath, resting his hands on his shoulders. "Are you ok?"

"N-n-no," Heath chatters, reaching up and clinging to Wade's arms, his eyes wide and pleading. "It was awful, man, I think I'm traumatized for life!"

Wade holds onto him, alarmed. "What happened?!" He starts thinking about his recovery, how much longer it'll be until he can go back and kick someone's ass for leaving Heath in such a state, but then the whole story actually pours from Heath's trembling lips and all thoughts wipe from his mind as he gapes in disbelief at the man in his arms.

When he starts to laugh, Heath only grows even more annoyed. "Hey, man, c'mon! This ain't funny!"

"You saw Ziggler spray tanning Ryder, and Stardust and-" He releases a blustery breath, wiping at his eyes. "I'm sorry but you're wrong, that's very funny." He throws an arm around Heath's shoulders and drags him to the computer. "I have to see this for myself."

"No, no, no," he moans, "I don't wanna relive this, c'mon Brit-"

Wade runs his fingers through Heath's hair, blocking his view of the monitor by pressing his head against his shoulder. It is about as funny as he'd imagined, but he can see the misery on Heath's face, so once the video is done, he closes the screen entirely and kisses Heath. "You're safe now," he says, only a minor bit of teasing in his voice. "Come here." Dragging Heath into his lap, he rubs his back and rests his jaw against Heath's shoulder. "Alright?"

"Uh huh," Heath exhales, closing his eyes. "Dammit, man. I hate doin' these shows without ya. I never know what's gonna happen to poor ol' Clem next."

Wade chuckles, lacing his fingers through Heath's, pressing him against his chest. "Well, it won't be much longer now, I suppose. Rehab speciailist is happy with my progress. Think you can hold on for that long?"

"I s'pose I'll have to," Heath exhales, leaning back against Wade. "But I swear if there's another night like tonight, I might just quit the whole thing."

Wade laughs again. "Of course you will," he says with a soft eyeroll, kissing Heath's shoulder.

"Ok, maybe not that desperate, but there'd be changes!" he insists, relaxing against Wade and letting the tension ease out of his body while Wade looks up some less traumatizing videos to watch.
