Heeeeyyyyy guys,

So I have officially finished work at my now old job so I am moving up north soon which is so scary, but needed. I will hopefully be posting regular still, but if not it's only because I'm busy with the move so hopefully I will still be writing.

Anyway here is the next chapter...

What Lily said swirled in my head and my mind started to over think things like it always does. Lucas liked me. And I liked him, but how was this going to work. I mean we only had one conversation and that was at the beach party and it was nice and comforting. He just seemed to make me feel better, less nervous or anxious.

I looked up to see if I could see him again, but I couldn't and then a plate was placed in front of me "this is for you" I looked up and saw his ocean blue eyes looking down at me.

"Thank you. It smells yummy" Lucas smiles and then slides in the booth where Lily was just sitting.

I take my spoon and place the dessert into my mouth "oh my god this is so good" I slightly moan "you're mom is really good at that"

"She is indeed" he agreed "so school starts soon you ready for senior year?"

I shrug my shoulders and wipe my mouth with the napkin that was on the table "it's funny last year I was excited and so ready for senior year. I'm head cheerleader and I was dating the Head of the soccer team and everything was in place and I knew where I stood, but now I just... I don't know anymore" I breathed out a sigh and pushed the finished plate away from me a little "everything was mapped out, but then Julian broke it and things are different now"

"I get it" Lucas states "you were the IT couple the couple that everyone loved and that everyone thought would be together forever to the point where you thought the same thing, but that isn't for everyone Brooke. You wanted it because that's all you've know. Julian is all you've ever known, but now you can come out of that circle and make your own. You can be your own person again and you don't need Julian to do that"

"I don't think that's how high school works Lucas"

"Unfortunately not for everyone, but you are cheer captain which means it can for you. You're still popular and you still have the same friends jut not the athlete boyfriend anymore"

Lucas was right. He was just like his sister with the knowledge. Now I know where she gets it from. Maybe if he and I were friends senior year wouldn't be so bad, it would be better and maybe Lily is right too. Maybe something could be in the cards for Lucas and me.

"Julian isn't my focus anymore. He was, but I've figured to move on from him and what we built. You're right Lucas high school is what I make it and I'll be fine" he gives me a smile just as my phone pinged "oh crap I need to go. Thank you for inviting me" I take a $10 out my bag and hold out to him "for the dessert"

He shakes his head "nah this is on me and thank you for coming" we both slide out the booth looking at each other. My cheeks flushed and his eyes sparkled.

"Thank you again" he brings me into a hug and then we part ways.

"Okay okay I'm here" I say rushing into Rachel's bedroom taking my coat off and placing it on her bed "what happened?"

"Ooo... ooowen dumped me" tears were streaming down her cheeks, her makeup making streaks from the tears.

"He did what?" that was weird. I thought he was in love with her. They were doing a long distance thing, but they already made plans about next year for college. It seemed long term to me "what happened? Did he say why?"

Rachel held up her phone that had an email from Owen.

Rach, I know this is a sucky way for me to do this and if I was man enough I would have called you and done this differently, but it turns out I'm not and I know you're going to hate me, but I'm sorry I can't do this anymore. I love you I really do. Owen xxxx

"This doesn't make sense" I say passing her the phone back "even the email doesn't make sense"

"That's what we were thinking" Haley agreed "it sounds off"

"But what am I meant to do about it" she shrugs "he dumped me"

"Yeah, but he doesn't say why" Peyton added "he says he loves you though"

"Oh yeah he loves me so much he dumped me"

"Call him" I state. I mean when Julian broke up with me it was different he done it at school face to face and he told me why too. He didn't love me as much as Owen did Rachel. Yes he dumped her by email, but to me it looks and sounds like to me to be more to it than that "I know it sucks Rach and I know how bad it hurts to be dumped, but call him and see what happened before letting go completely okay"

"Okay" she muttered taking her phone and leaving the room.

"So..." Haley says crossing her legs on the bed turning to me "where have you been all day?"

"Nowhere" I reply "just been chilling"

"We called earlier and you didn't answer and your location is turned off too"

"You guys checked my location?"

They both nodded "only to make sure you didn't go to Julian's again"

"Guys I told you I'm done with him remember"

"We've heard that before Brooke" Peyton rolled her eyes

"I mean it this time" I make clear "I wasn't with Julian today and my location has been turned off for a while so Julian can't find me"

"Okay fine you weren't with Julian, so where were you?"

"I was out" I shrug "I went to a cafe opening in town"

"There's a new cafe in town?" I nod "and you went without us"

"Okay firstly we don't have to do everything together guys and secondly I was invited"

They both roll their eyes at not doing everything together and then their ears perked up at the second thing.

"Invited?" I nod "by who?"

"Okay okay" I sigh know they would make this out to be bigger than it already is "I ran into Lucas earlier today and he invited me" smiles formed on their faces "wipe those of your faces. It wasn't like that. We just hung out and had dessert"

"Dessert? Sounds kinky" Peyton wiggled her eyes brows at me and Haley laughed.

"Oh stop it" I throw a pillow at both of them "it isn't Like that"

"What isn't?" We all turn and see Rachel walk into the room. Her tears were gone and she seemed happier.

"Doesn't matter, what happened with Owen?" I ask

"It went good. We talked and he just said that the long distance has been too much for him lately and that he acted without thinking. So I'm going to go see him before we go back to school"

"See I told you" she beamed a smile at us.

"Thank you guys, ya'll are the best" she bounced on the bed "so what we talking about?"

"Brooke had a date with Lucas tonight" Haley says with a smile on her face.

Rachel squealed "no way really?"

"It wasn't a date, we just hung out at his Moms cafe in town" I correct Haley.

"Sounds like a kind of date to me" Peyton sings.

I roll my eyes at them "whatever" they all laugh "anyways so you're going to LA?" I change the subject.

"Firstly nice with change of subject and secondly yeah I am. I miss Owen and he asked me to go visit, so I am"

Owen and Rachel met over the Internet on some website. He travelled down here to visit her a month after they started talking and they've been together ever since. Two years almost. They've planned everything. They both applied to the same colleges, she wants to do business and he wants to be a doctor.

"Omg I just had an awesome idea you guys should come with me"

"I will" Peyton says "I could do with a last minute get away before senior year"

"Brooke? Haley?"

"Sorry girls I'm going to spend time with Nathan before school starts, but you girls have an awesome time"

"Brooke?"

"I'm going to stay back too, I've got a lot to figure out before school starts, but you girls have fun yeah"

"Okay then it's just me and blondie" Rachel says "I'll book the tickets"

"Book three" Peyton states "I'm going to invite Jake"

"At least you won't be third wheeling" Rachel nods "LA here we come" she bounced off the bed and over to her laptop to book the flights.
