Slight edit after I realised I stupidly overlooked some things with Ais

It has been 2 weeks since Bell has arrived at Orario. And 2 weeks since he (re?)gained his memories of when he was Tomura Shigaraki. So yeah, it was strange to come to terms with, he had a combination of the personality of Tomura and the peaceful lifestyle of Bell. Bell's influence of wanting to be an adventurer was still there, but so was Tomura's want for destruction. With the combination, you get an angsty teen with slight murderous intent, but is self aware of his attitude.

But even though he was self aware, no one ever considers themself weird, or at least acknowledges it to other people. But there was one thing that Bell couldn't figure out about himself.

His skills and techniques.

When he 1st entered the dungeon, the 1st floor was easy. Not too easy, but still pretty easy. But then that changed really fast. After one or 2 days, the 1st floor was a joke to him, they seemed way too slow. So he informed Eina about it. She seemed surprised, and even kind of didn't believe him at 1st. Especially since his stats didn't get a huge boost. But she reluctantly told him if he was really sure, to go to the next floor.

The same thing happened. It was harder than the last floor, obviously, but it was still pretty easy. Then a couple of days later, everything looked so slow. He didn't even decide to ask Eina, he went to the 3rd floor.

This kept happening for the next week and a half, each time a bit longer but surely easier, and he was already ready for the 6th floor.

And yeah, Eina gave him an earful when he didn't tell her right away.

And his goddess Hestia kept muttering about her prodigy possibly being stolen.

So yeah, Bell didn't know if this was his own talent and he was a secret prodigy, or if this was Tomura's past fighting experience slowly coming back by muscle memory. It would be insane if it was both, but again, Bell had no idea.

Bell sighed as he entered the 5th floor. He was wearing the same exact attire he's always been wearing, the same one he used when he 1st registered to be an adventurer, the only difference was a small silver chestplate on his chest under his coat.

Obviously the only difference was that he wasn't wearing his gloves. Well, he was wearing one.

Eina convinced him to use a dagger. And honestly, Bell was very reluctant. Not because he thought a weapon would be useless, even the uncaring side of Tomura thought there had to be a reason people used weapons even if they have skills or magic stronger than it. It was the annoying and very possible chance of Bell destroying or damaging a weapon and having to restore or repair it. He already didn't have a lot of money, and even if he was right about being a 'prodigy', the money he can theoretically quickly get would be shared with his goddess who's deeply in debt.

So needless to say, he didn't have a long term plan.

Oh and back to the whole maybe being a prodigy or whatever. Did potentially exploiting the falna system with a bunch of video game rpg methods count?

Cause if it did he's a genius.

Bell decided to test it out one day, and decided to primarily dodge the monsters that were attacking him.

That led to one awkward moment of a passing party and Bell telling them to leave him alone.

But in the end, his agility skyrocketed, it went from double digits to the hundreds, almost reaching the G rank when he 1st did it.

Of course now, it was, but his strength needed some work, again he's getting too used to using his skill. He would use the weaker monsters and try to time a perfect time to dodge their attacks, and because sometimes he got hit, it also increased his endurance as well.

He should have been able to exploit this and level up like crazy.

He should have.

He really should have.

There was one thing that really annoyed Bell however, and that was the level up requirement…

Oh boy, he could still remember the conversation.

At the abandoned church, Bell was getting his stats updated, with the same position he got his falna, kneeling on the bed away from his goddess.

"Your agility has gone so high, bell! Geesh, what are you doing down there?" Hestia sighed as she gave Bell's stats to Bell.

Bell chuckled as he saw his stats, and his experiment a success. "Experimenting. With this, I should level up in no time."

"Well, that's only if you plan on doing anything crazy, which I want to tell you not to do but you always ignore me." Hestia huffed.

"Sorry… I get too excited sometimes." Bell gave a rare sheepish smile. Well, rare to Hestia.

"Bell… What am I gonna do with you?" Hestia lazily flopped on her bed face 1st, with Bell sitting on the edge now.

"Heh, anyways, what do I have to do to level up? Do all my stats need to be ranked A or something?" Bell inquired. If this was anything like any other RPG in Tomura's life, this would be the easiest grind eve-

"It's not that easy. You have to have at least one of your stats on rank D. Then you have to accomplish something that even the gods would be impressed with, like fighting a monster clearly stronger than you." Hestia said, shifting herself to lay on her back.

What?

"What?"

Hestia chuckled at Bell's reaction. "If it were that easy, lev-"

"That's fucking stupid." Bell sneered.

"E-Eh?" Hestia sat up at the sudden anger from Bell.

"What the hell would be considered impressive even to the gods?" Bell genuinely asked. And why the hell did she word it like gods in general? What does that even mean?

"I-I gave an example already, like fighting a monster that's stronger than you." She stuttered, while putting her hands up in mock surrender.

"How strong?" Bell asked.

"One that would be clearly hard to beat." She said.

"Like?" Bell probed.

"GHK! I don't know!" She yelled. "A monster that's clearly out of your league."

"If it's so clear how come you can't give me an answer!?"

It went back and forth for a while like that. In the end, he went to take his anger out in the dungeon even though he just got back, much to the dismay of his goddess.

/Present/

He loved his goddess, but that was so annoying.

So yeah, this was more of an RPG game with RNG. By the sounds of it, anyone with an ability that has a D rank or above accidentally or luckily kills a monster much stronger than them, gets a level up.

And if by accident doesn't work then that means the gods are picky, or are watching the events, but then that would imply a certain god is watching to determine if that was worthy enough to level up. But then that would just throw away the implications of impressing gods in general.

WHAT ARE THE RULES DAMN IT!?

Bell shook those thoughts out of his head. That's what it was, and he couldn't change it. So much for exploiting the falna system. Sure it would have been handy if he could level up, but that's how it went.

One thing Bell had to admit was that he was getting used to using his skill. Or quirk.

Killing these monsters was easy with his skill. He would just have to touch their throat or open up a wound and dig his hand in it and use his skill and they would die for the most part. The former being the most efficient and easiest.

Yeah, that's all that it really took to kill these monsters, it made his decay feel so powerful. As long as he was faster, and was able to touch them in a quick vital point, they were dead.

Oh, and he hasn't used a single potion. The starter pack started with 3 normal potions, but he never needed to use them, he bought a couple just in case, so now he had a total of 5.

So when he needed them, they would be slightly helpful.

Oh, and his pain tolerance was… really weird.

In his memories, he remembered some of the street fights he got into, obviously they ended with the other person turning to dust, but Tomura didn't start out like a graceful animal being able to move quickly. In these memories, he's been stabbed, beaten, and even shot once.

So when he did get slightly hurt, like one goblin with a rusty knife caught his leg once, it didn't really phase him too much, at the moment he reacted in pain but once the pain settled in, he didn't care. But at the same time, he did. It was more like he didn't like the pain, but didn't care enough to acknowledge it after he realised it was there. Now obviously if his bones broke or anything major like that, that was a different story. He didn't know how he would react to that, even with Tomura's better pain tolerance.

Again, really weird.

Bell quirked an eyebrow as he realised he hadn't seen any monsters in a while. Which didn't make sense whatsoever. He's been on the 5th floor before, more monsters spawned here more frequently.

Bell sighed. "Tch, that must mean another party is coming back, or they were slightly ahead of me. This stinks."

It was his right to destroy things he hated. But since Bell's peaceful life saw the good in people, the only negative side he had was against monsters, but that was granted due to them being humanity's greatest enemies.

So this was the only thing Tomura had to satisfy his desire for destruction. Hell, he didn't really hate it… Yet. The dungeon was slightly annoying, due to the unknown randomness it spews, but that was about it.

It hadn't done anything to warrant the hate of Bell/Tomura.

Little did Bell know, today was gonna change that.

Bell shook his head, as he still couldn't find a single monster. How boring. He thought about turning around and calling today a dud, but then he heard something.

Some loud thuds could be heard deeper in the floor. Bell tilted his head as the thuds got louder and louder, obviously coming up to him. He saw a tall figure walk around the corner of a small steep, and walked up into the large area he was at. The figure had a cow head, and darker skin with a muscular body.

Bell could tell immediately that this monster was tougher than the ones he dealt with. Bell shuddered in fear and or excitement when the monster made eye contact with him.

With the description Bell gave, he realised this was a minotaur… Weren't those things on the lower floors like… 15 if he remembered.

"Heh…" A beat of sweat ran down the side of his face. He smirked as he took his hands out of his pockets and readied his dagger on his left gloved hand. "Already time for a mini-boss eh?"

The monster roared. And then it charged.

Bell's eyes widened as the monster reared back a right hook. Bell ducked underneath it, and thought he saw an opening, but that thought was quickly discarded as the monster quickly spun to the side and threw it's other fist towards him. Bell was barely able to jump back and dodge it.

'Tch, even with my agility, it's hard to keep up.' Bell readied himself again as the minotaur repeated the roar and charge. This time, the monster went in for a straight right kick, one which Bell once again dodged. The 1st attack seemed simple and easy to read, but once you were in close crushing distance, it was hard to see what it would do next. Luckily, it decided to try to grab him, which Bell was able to slip behind him.

Bell raised his right arm and placed his right hand on the monster's back. This is when Bell slowly started to realise he hated the dungeon.

The monster's back was discentegrating like any other monster did. But it was doing it so slowly. The monster clenched it's shoulder and spun around with it's right arm extended, Bell didn't have time to dodge, so he quickly improvised and tried to minimise the damage by leaning away from the attack. In that quick moment, he quickly slashed at it's arm. If it was going to hit him regardless, he would do as much damage as he could.

It only did so much, as it connected with his abdomen and sent him across the large area they were in, Bell skidded on the ground and clutched his stomach as he got up. He looked at the monster's arm he slashed, and noticed it did close to nothing, it didn't even look like it scratched it. He looked at his dagger, which he realised was now slightly bent. So slightly you could barely even tell. But that one thing made it clear, this weapon wouldn't work, he wasn't ready for this. This thing was way stronger than he thought it was.

Bell shook his head, it didn't matter. Bell put his dagger in a small part of his bag, and tossed it to the side. "Desperate times call for desperate measures." He grabbed his glove off his left and tossed it away. "It's a shame I don't have a single ability on rank D, just shows how unlucky I am!" He all but shouted the last part as the minotaur once again roared.

This resulted in a fight for Bell's life, as he grew more frustrated. He was dodging and using both of his hands to do as much damage as he could, but it just didn't seem like it was enough. If he could focus his decay on point on the body it would have worked, but Bell grew more tired as the fight went on, granted the minotaur seemed to slow down a little bit as well, but Bell was now just trying to do as much as he could without getting killed.

Eventually, Bell was caught off guard, as he was kicked on the side by the minotaur, he coughed out in pain. The situation seemed to worsen, as the minotaur stepped on Bell's right leg, holding him in place on the ground. The minotaur slightly leaned down as it roared in Bell's face.

That was his chance. If he could just touch it's throat. Bell reached out with his right hand, aiming for it's throat.

Bell didn't know if his action was obvious, or just too slow. But the minotaur sloppily bit down on his hand, catching his index and middle finger. "GAGH!"

This was annoying, this was pissing him off. 1st a monster killed his grandfather, and now it was trying to kill him. And these stupid things are what gave them fighting experience as they tried to murder you, and this thing was simply too strong to be on this floor. The dungeon was a mistake, why did these things just ruin everything?

He hated it.

Unknown to Bell, his back started to slightly glow, as he felt a huge urge to itch.

Bell felt the minotaur's teeth try to chomp down on his fingers, Bell was focusing everything on his jaw trying to pry it a bit open, as he glared and gripped on the monster's jaw. He seethed as the minotaur responded by plunging it's right fist down, tilting his head to the side, he dodged it and took that opportunity to use his free hand and grip the monsters arm, he felt dust land on his face, as the minotaur's jaw started decaying. This was ironically perfect, since the minotaur kept him in place like that, he would use that to destroy it as much as he could.

He smiled, though it went away after the minotaur's jaw broke in half after a couple dozen seconds, and the same result happened to it's arm after it batted away his arm with it's free one.

Bell backed up and tried to get up, but stumbled.

Suddenly, the minotaur was cut in half. He felt some blood splat on his face as the monster dispersed.

Now standing in front of him was a blonde haired girl with light long golden hair, gold eyes, and a slender body. Wearing a white and black battle cloth, black arm covers, and long blue boots. Her armor over this consisting of a head guard, breastplate, arm guards, hip guards, and knee guards.

Bell's eyes glistened and slightly blushed. 'She's… Beautiful.'

That glint went away as he thought of something. 'But she stole my kill.'

/

Ais quickly sprinted as she made her way to the 5th floor. She couldn't believe it, she accidentally let a single minotaur out of her sight, and now it was on the run to the upper floors. The fact that it made it this far angered Ais. Sure she could have blamed her familia members, but she really hated these monsters. It felt like her personal job to destroy them.

Now obviously it didn't seem possible at all to kill them all, so that was a shame.

She heard some thuds and grunts as she kept ascending.

There were 2 sources of the sound… Meaning somebody was fighting it.

She had to hurry!

She pulled her sword out of her sheath as she concentrated on the sounds that were getting closer as she turned the corner of a steep.

"GAGH!" Ais was met with the sight of the minotaur stepping on a white haired boy's right foot that was laying on the ground. His right hand was up to the minotaur's face, but 2 of his fingers were caught in his mouth. He seethed as the minotaur attempted to plunge it's fist down on his head, the boy barely dodging it to the side.

Ais couldn't tell what face he was making, but it looked like he was smiling as he used his left hand and grabbed the minotaur's left arm. The arm started to slowly decay… Now that she looked at the minotaur, she realised the minotaur's jaw was cracking as even though the boy's 2 fingers were in its mouth, he was gripping his jaw hard as it was slowly falling apart, and multiple parts of the minotaur's body was covered in cracks.

Was that a skill? Ais shook her head out of thought as half of the minotaur's jaw fell apart in half, and hit the boy's arm to the side. It then kicked the hand that was destroying its arm away, as it now had half a right arm, it raised it's left fist in retaliation. He was clearly in trouble.

Ais knew there was somewhat of an unspoken rule of not stealing kills, but it didn't look like he could handle it… But she knew nothing of his situation. Hopefully she wasn't making a mistake, he looked like he needed help anyway.

The boy quickly kneeled, trying to get up but stumbling. But it didn't matter, he didn't have to fight anymore, she was there now. She already made her way to the minotaur, she quickly but surely cut the minotaur in half through the top of it's right shoulder to it's lower left midsection. Let out a strange gurgled growl of pain, probably due to half it's jaw missing. Blood sprayed everywhere, luckily not too much on the boy, but half his face got covered with it's blood.

Ais whipped her sword to get the blood off of it, as the minotaur dispersed into a black mist, dropping it's magic crystal. "Hey." She sheathed her sword away. "Are you ok?" She tilted her head as she asked.

The boy's eyes slightly widened, he kind of looked like a rabbit. The glint in the boy's eyes went away though as he gave her a simple look. "Yeah, thanks I guess."

He sounded disappointed, which was strange but her familia called her strange so she didn't know how to interpret it.

He sat down and huffed, she gave a slightly confused look at the boy's nonchalant attitude, as he clearly had at the very least, 2 sprained fingers. She didn't know how his leg was, but she assumed it was at the very least bruised, considering when she came to the scene he was yelling in pain as it applied pressure to his leg.

"Are you sure you're ok?" She asked again.

The boy gave her an incredulous look. "I already said yeah."

"Oh, I was just making sure… And you probably should head back, that monster was from the 15th floor." The boy seemed brash, but she could tell the thanks from before was somewhat genuine. How strange.

"Cool." He seemed to brush off.

They stood- well, she stood while he sat with his legs folded, in silence.

That was until one of her familia members showed up. "Ais! Did you get the minotaur?" An elf ran up the steep to the open area. This was Riveria.

Ais nodded. "Yeah, I killed it."

She walked up beside her. "That's good." She looked down at the white haired boy. "Oh, and who is this?"

Ais also looked at him, noticing he wasn't even acknowledging her, just looking up in thought. "He was caught up with a fight against the minotaur."

Riveria slightly gaped. "Oh, I guess you don't really get a choice when that thing is chasing you." She slightly bowed. "I'm sorry, we were the ones that accidentally let it go."

The boy looked at Riveria with a raised eyebrow. "Huh? Oh, yeah whatever."

Riveria slightly frowned at the boy's response, but looked at his sprained fingers. "What exactly happened?"

Since the boy didn't seem to want to talk, Ais responded. "When I showed up, the minotaur had him pinned to the ground, but he was able to slightly fight back. But both of his fingers got caught in its mouth."

Riveria hummed. "If you want, I can heal that for you."

"No." The boy said, again not even looking at her as he got up. "Thanks for the save again, but I'm going home."

Riveria now scoffed. "Geez, he's a rude one isn't he?"

"...I guess so." Ais said.

"Sorry, just, I really wanted to kill that minotaur." He said abashed.

Was that what it was? She could understand wanting to kill those things, but why complain when someone else could do it for you?

...Actually that might have been hypocritical considering-

An image of that monster flashed in her mind.

Ais didn't know if she should apologise or not, she wasn't really the best in expressing herself in words.

"Again, sorry if I was rude." It was directed towards Riveria.

Riveria seemed taken aback by the sudden change of attitude, and the stuttering didn't help. "O-Oh, Th-That's fine, as long as you apologize."

He simply nodded and turned around, he started walking away. She realised he was actually walking towards a bag, once he got to it he reached his hand out to it before realising something. He looked at his hand and made a 'tsk' he reached in his pockets seemingly looking for something before sighing in what sounded like annoyance, as he picked up the bag by the small strap on the top with fingers on his left hand.

He then put it on and walked away.

"Well… That was certainly interesting." Riveria muttered.

"What was?" Ais asked.

Riveria stared at Ais for a second before sighing. "Nothing."

'Well... If I shouldn't have helped maybe I should apologize next time i se-' "Oh." She looked back to see the boy was gone. "I forgot to ask for his name."

"Ais Wallenstien." Eina responded to Bell's statement. Bell told Eina what happened at the dungeon.

They were sitting in a simple seating booth.

Obviously Eina freaked out in concern when he told her a minotaur was spotted on the 5th floor. But that was settled quickly.

Bell's fingers weren't sprained anymore thanks to the healing potions, but it was slightly bruised while his leg was practically healed.

But anyway, Bell gave the description of the person who saved him from possibly dying, and Eina responded with her name.

Eina hummed. "She's a level 5 adventurer of the Loki familia, she's one of the strongest adventurers of Orario. She even has a title: The Sword Princess."

"So, she's strong then?" Bell simply asked.

Eina sighed, probably due to Bell's bluntness. "Strong is an understatement. She's strong enough to defeat monsters a level 6 would struggle with, so yes, she's very strong. Sorry, but I can't give out personal information about her."

"Hmph, that's not impressive to me. Sensei could have wiped the floor with them." Bell scoffed.

Tomura saw the fight between All Might and his sensei, All For One. He never understood how they kept that incident under wraps, city blocks were decimated. He couldn't remember what the cover up was, but he supposed it didn't matter now.

Eina pinched the edge of her nose. "I'm sure he can Bell."

Of course, Bell never revealed that he got his memories recently or that it was from a different world, but he always would praise the man who saved him. Though he didn't give too many details, Sensei wasn't here anymore, and there was no point in wasting people's time with the description of a powerful man that didn't exist in this world. If he did, he might spread rumors which, again, would just waste everyone's time.

So he would just say he was powerful and leave it at that, and he felt like Eina either didn't care after the many times he praised his strength or didn't believe him.

"Anyways. Thank you for the information though." He slightly bowed.

Eina's eyes slightly widened before sighing. "I don't think I'll ever understand you." She muttered, but smiled regardless. "But you're welcome. Still though, I'm surprised you sounded so interested in her, did her beauty take your breath away or something?" She gave a teasing smirk at that last sentence.

Bell hummed. "She's beautiful, but I was kind of mad at her for stealing my kill."

Eina gave a deadpan look. "I don't even know what to say to that."

Bell shrugged. "Anyways, I'm going home. I got a little extra money because there's no board games that are really interesting."

That was the only source of entertainment this world had other than going outside, BLEGH. But like he said, the board games he got were fun of course, but got repetitive after a while. And he couldn't really play board games with anyone else except his goddess, and Eina was too busy.

So entertainment was a defiant issue.

"Well what do you expect? Board games ar-"

"Bye." Bell was already walking out the door, he didn't want to hear slander on any type of games.

He put his hoodie up as he walked home. The way home wasn't very eventful, he got from point A to point B pretty easily.

But he felt like something was watching him…

He shook it off as he reached the abandoned church called home, it was like destiny to live out in the dumps or something, 1st as Tomura and now Bell. He made his way in and eventually reached the stairs that led down to the only room besides the bathroom.

"I'm back." He said nonchalantly, expecting a response from his goddess.

And sure enough, he got it.

"Oh! Welcome back Bell." Hestia exclaimed until she saw his dirty apparence and deadpanned. "Were you 'experimenting with the power system' again?"

"Not this time, I almost died." He shrugged off his bag and let it fall on the floor.

"Are you being sarcastic again?" Hestia narrowed her eyes.

"No." He said, she didn't say anything after that, which got Bell's attention, he turned to her to see she was still deadpanning. "That wasn't sarcasm either."

He sighed as he got topless asking to update his status as he got on his knees facing away from her like always. While he did that, he explained what happened in the dungeon. A part of him felt bad for worrying his goddess so much. But the other part just made more sense, this was gonna happen a lot if you were an adventurer, so he ignored her as she freaked out in concern.

"Anyway, you should be more careful. As much as I hate to say it, you got lucky Ais whatever was there." He felt slight heat on his back as his stats were being updated.

"'Ais whatever' huh?" He chuckled. But he didn't get a response. He looked back but couldn't see her face. "Goddess?"

She shook her head. "It's nothing." He felt the paper against his skin. "Hey… Do you like that girl?"

"Huh?" Ais? "Hmm, well not really. In fact she kind of made me mad today."

"Mad… Like really mad?" She inquired.

Where was this going? "Well not her entirely. I wanted to kill that minotaur really badly, I wanted it to die in my hand- TSK!" Bell got an itch on his shoulder which he satisfied by scratching it. "It makes me mad thinking about it."

Silence filled the room, with the only thing filling it was the sound of scratching, it eventually went away as he let his thoughts go and stopped itching.

"Well, forget I said anything, here's your stats." He slightly turned and grabbed the paper with his right index finger and thumb.

Bell Cranel - Level 1

Strength - I89 - H101

Endurance - I33 - I58

Dexterity H109 - H129

Agility G231 - G259

Magic I0 -

Skills - Decay: Has the ability to decay anything with all 5 fingers of each hand.

- L-/- F-/-

The huge jump of his stats was surprising, but the second line of his skill list caused his head to tilt. "Goddess, what is this?" He pointed the paper at his goddess.

She didn't even look. "I must have slipped my finger, it's nothing Bell."

He was slightly suspicious, but quickly let it go as he placed the paper on the bed. "Ok, if you say so. I'm gonna go brush my teeth and maybe shower."

/

Hestia eyed Bell as he went into the bathroom. After he went, she picked up the paper again. She looked at the blurred and fuzzy text, before placing her finger on it. It glowed and showed clearly.

- Liaris Freese: Fast growth as long as feelings last. The strength of the effects corresponds with the level of the user's feelings.

Hestia looked up at her ceiling. "...You were mad huh?"

A/N

Alright, here's chapter 2 for you guys. Don't expect every update to be this fast, I just got a lot of free time right now. Though hopefully the update gaps won't be big when I don't have free time.

Anyways I wanted to address 1 thing I saw from reviews. And that's the concern of Bell's decay. If it looks nerfed, it's because it's based off of what Tomura has shown in USJ, his quirk got stronger when he stopped his memories from holding him back. Now obviously that doesn't mean his quirk was weak or anything like that, it would just be harder to destroy monsters with tough skin. Sorry if it looked like I was intentionally making his decay weak. Small spoiler, with that, know Bell/Tomura will get his awakening. So if you think his decay isn't powerful enough, it will be.

Also, with Liaris Freese. I have no idea if this only applies to positive feelings, so if you think that's completely wrong, sorry. Just think of it as Tomura's version if that makes sense.

Freya will pop up in the next chapter, so look forward to that.

Till next time.
