I am so glad that you are liking this story. I know the Lucas and Lily parts are super cute, him being the protective brother and all that.

Monday morning and I was standing by my locker. I grabbed what I needed then swing my bag on my shoulder and shut my locker door.

"You should know who your dating Brooke" Julian says leaning against the locker next to mine.

I roll my eyes and let out a sigh "Julian this is getting really old now. Just get over me already"

"I'm trying to look out for you Brooke"

"I don't need looking out for Julian" I reply "especially not from you"

"But Brooke..."

"Just leave it alone Julian" I say continuing to walk away

I wish he would just leave it.

"Julian just doesn't know when to give up aye" Rachel says leaning off of her locker

I look over my shoulder at Julian who was still staring at me "I guess not"

"Anyways a birdie tells me Lucas finally asked you to be his girlfriend" a smile instantly found itself on my lips.

"Is that birdies name Haley James?"

"Did I hear my name?" Haley walks up behind us.

"Yes you did. Are you telling people my news?"

She shakes her head "just the girls" she smiles "I'm just glad you're finally truly over Julian"

"Me too" I agree feeling happier than I have in a long time

Half the day had past and I stood in the gym ready to practice with the squad. The girls began to warm up. I grab my water bottle and take a sip.

"Okay girls get into your positions and we'll start" I call out. The girls do as I ask "okay so Lily you will do a triple back flip and Rachel will do the same. Haley goes into the air with Peyton and Kadence can do a back flip into a split" I instructed and watched as they did the routine "that was awesome" I clap "okay one more time" I say joining in this time. We all met the perfect steps and I was very happy with my squad.

The gym doors opened and in walked the basketball team getting ready for their practice. Lucas was talking to Nathan and Jake and then he looked my way our eyes connecting. He flashed me a smile and a cheeky wink making me blush.

"Okay girls let's get going" I say watching as they pack up their stuff "we have a competition coming up on Saturday in Charlotte so we will be practicing after school all week" they all nodded and then we all started to leave the gym.

"Hey Brooke" I turn around in the quad and see Lily running over to me.

"Oh hey Lil, what's up?"

"Can I come over to yours to go with you guys to Charlotte?" she asked

"Of course you can" a smile formed on her face.

"I'm so excited. My first competition"

"They are pretty fun" I admit "we've won three years in a row"

"Well let's make it a forth"

"I'm sure with you, Kadence and Olivia we will"

"Yep" she nodded.

"Lily you coming?" the guy from the party called over.

"Yeah I'm coming" she called back and then she turned back to me "don't tell Luke he is wayyyy too over protective"

I laugh "I won't, but just be careful okay" she nodded and then ran over to the guy and they walked off.

"So what is everyone doing for winter break?" Rachel asks plonking herself down with her food tray in her hand.

"I don't have any plans at the moment. Why?" I reply

"us either" Haley said referring to her and Peyton .

"Well Owen called earlier and we were talking and he suggested that we rent a cabin somewhere for winter break"

"Oh that would be super cool" Haley says

"I agree that would be great. I mean its not like we have parents to share Christmas with anyway" I add "I'm down"

"Yeah me too" Peyton adds

"Oh and you guys can invite your boyfriends so it would be like a couple thing. It'll be so much fun"

I nod getting up from my seat "Brooke where you going?"

"To ask Luke if he wants to come" I head over to the guys across from us "so Luke, Nate and Jake" all three looks up at me "Owen and Rachel have suggested we go to a cabin somewhere for winter break want to come with"

"Yeah sure" Jake and Nathan say at the same time.

I look to Lucas "I would love to Brooke, but Mom is going put if town to her sisters this year and Lily didn't want to go so I said I'll stay here with her"

"Well she can come with us"

"Really?" I nod "thanks Brooke. Then yeah let's do it"

"Okay cool" I walk back over to our table "okay let's plan this" the girls all squealed in excitement. This is going to be fun

After school had finished we had a practice which was really good and I was super excited for Saturday. I headed out to the parking lot and see Lucas standing by my car.

"Hey pretty girl" he says as I walk over to him. He placed a kiss to my lips.

"Hi boyfriend"

"Erm Brooke?"

"hmm?"

"Earlier in the gym did you say you were going to Charlotte this weekend?"

I nodded "yeah we have a competition, why?"

"No reason"

"Are you coming?"

"Erm..."

"Erm?" I kink my eye brow confused "why wouldn't you come. Its Lily's first competition and your girlfriend is head cheerleader"

"Yeah I know, but we moved from Charlotte and I have a lot of history there"

"I get that, but it can't be that bad that you wouldn't want to come and cheer us on"

"Brooke I don't know"

"Okay I get it" I pull away from him "I'm going to head home"

"Brooke don't be like that" he says as I open my car door.

"Nah its okay Lucas really" I assure him "if anything I understand history. I'll see you tomorrow" I shut my car door and head home.

I lay on my bed looking up at the ceiling. The words that Lucas said about having history in Charlotte which would stop him from coming to the competition ran around in my head. That obviously meant a girl right? I mean that would only be logical.

Its okay for him to have history though, I have history that he knows about, but I don't know about his, but that's okay because he walked into my history I didn't his. Maybe in time he'll tell me about this history he has in Charlotte and until then I have to be respectful of it and not ponder over it.

So I grabbed my bag and car keys and I headed to my car. I was starving so I decided to go to Karen's cafe for my dinner. I park up outside and head inside hearing the bell ring above the door signalling my arrival. I looked around for Lucas knowing he would be here. My eyes land on him behind the counter. He looked up and our eyes met. A smile formed on his lips as I head over to him.

"Hey pretty girl, I didn't know you were coming by"

"I got hungry" I say climbing onto the spare stool at the island.

"The usual?" he asked and I nod. He puts my order in and turns back to me "so about earlier I didn't want you to feel like I don't want to come and see you smash it at the competition this weekend. I just have so much history there"

"I get it Luke" Like I said before I'm not going to ponder over it "but you can tell me about your history if you want"

He nods "I know Brooke. In time I will" I nod letting it go. In his own time he will trust me enough with his history to tell me and until then I will wait.

After I ate I said goodbye to Lucas and head back home to shower and then relax for the evening. I walk to my car and I'm about to open my car door when I see Julian walking across the road with a girl hanging on his arm which by now is normal for me, but what did catch my surprise was the fact it was a totally different girl. I haven't seen her at school or around town. Maybe she is new to the area. Julian catches my eye and gives me the biggest grin. I give an eye roll back and head into my car and head home.
