Hey guys, so I didn't really get many reviews for my last chapter, but that's okay I will still post.
I hope you all liked the last chapter. Here's the next one.
"Are you sure it's a good idea that you let Lucas go for dinner with your parents Brooke?" I was in my room trying to figure out what to wear tonight with the girls.
I look at Rachel through the mirror and shake my head "but it's not like I have a choice. Daddy wants to meet Luke and after he defended me against Mother I couldn't say no"
"And Lucas is okay with tonight?" Haley asks "I like the red top with the white jeans"
I pick up the red top and white jeans turning to the mirror "he says he is, but I know he's nervous. Mom wasn't exactly his biggest fan and he only passed my dad on his way out, but I'm really hoping my dad has my back with Lucas tonight because I know my Mom is going to try and make him uncomfortable"
"Your mom is a right bitch" Peyton joins in "sorry for using that word Brooke" I wave it off knowing she was right.
"I like the white top with the red skirt" Rachel comments "maybe with the white blazer and black heels.
"Oh I don't know" I huff slumping down on my bed "I'm nervous guys. I don't want Lucas to second think about being with me because of my parents"
"I don't think he would do that" Haley says "Lucas is a good guy. He has proved that"
She was right. I sit up and stand to my mirror again then turn looking at my clothes scattered around the room "you're right Hales" I pick up the red top and white jeans "this is my outfit" I decide "Rach pick me out some heels" Rachel nods and heads into my closet and brings out a pair of black skinny heels.
Haley looks at her watch "oh shit girls I have to go. I'm meeting Nathan for dinner" she hugs us all "I sure tonight will go fine Brooke, but call us and let us know after" I nod and then she leaves.
"We better go too" Rachel says standing to her feet from my bed "and you better start getting ready. Don't stress so much about tonight and let us know how it goes" I nod trying not to stress so much "love you"
"Love you both too" I give them hugs and wave as they leave my room the front door shutting.
It was almost 7 and I was showered, dressed and my makeup and hair was done. I sat at my vanity looking over my appearance. I slip my feet into the heels Rachel picked out and stand to my feet grabbing my white bag and I was ready to go. Lucas was picking me up as my parents were meeting us at the restaurant.
I heard the door bell ring. I head down and open the door seeing my very handsome boyfriend on my door step. He was wearing a dark blue buttoned shirt with dark jeans and really nice shoes. He scrubs up really good.
"Wow Brooke you look beautiful" he greets pulling me into a kiss.
"You scrub up really well Luke" he laughs taking my hand. I shut the front door and look it. Lucas leads us to his car and we head to the restaurant.
Lucas pulled up and parked his car. The valet opened his door and we got out. He passed the keys to the guy and I could tell he was starting to get nervous by how quiet he went. I walked around the car and took his hand in mine.
"No matter how tonight goes it won't change how I feel about you okay" I nod and so does he leaning in places a kiss to my lips "I love you"
"I love you too Luke" that reassured me that we were in this for the long run.
We both took deep breathes and then entered the restaurant.
I scanned the crowd and saw my parents in deep conversation at a table. Lucas followed my gaze and we headed over to the table.
"Richard you can't honestly think this boy is worthy of our daughter" I heard Mom say. I looked up at Lucas seeing a sad look on this face. I didn't care that Lucas wasn't from money we can make money together as we continue on our love journey. You know like most couples do.
"That's enough Victoria" Dad replies "I don't want you to bring up the Bakers especially not after what that boy done to our little girl and then gets that other poor girl pregnant" I guess they know everything now "you will be nice to this boy that our daughter is dating and that's the end of it okay"
Lucas and I approach the table. Dad sees us first and stands to his feet "Pumpkin" he kisses my cheek "and this must be Lucas" Dad holds out his hand.
Lucas takes his hand and shakes it "hello sir"
"Let's sit" Dad says.
Lucas brings out my chair for me and I take my seat and the he sits down beside me.
The dinner started with awkward silence. Mom was sat there quietly sipping at her glass of wine. The waiter came over and took our order and then conversation started.
"So Lucas what are your plans after graduation?" Dad asks.
"I've applied to colleges. I have a full scholarship to Duke for basketball if I choose to take it" Lucas replies.
"Oh that's really good. You must be a good basketball player" Lucas nods "have you got a backup in case things don't go as planned?"
Lucas nods "I also wrote a book throughout senior year and I'm taking an English major in college aswell"
"Oh that all sounds really good. Seems Brooke has picked someone with a lot going for them" Dad seemed really pleased with Lucas's answers and I was so relieved yet Mom sat there not saying a word
"So how do you and Brooke expect this relationship to work after graduation?" Mom decided to join in "I mean Brooke could go to Florida to continue cheerleading or she could go to Brown to study erm... what was it Brooke? Fashion? Or even to New York to study fashion. She has a lot of choices so how do you both expect to fit into each others lives after graduation?"
"Victoria" dad says in a warning tone.
"No its okay Mr Davis" Lucas turns his gaze to my mom "Brooke and I have talked about doing the long distance relationship and if it comes to us doing that then we will get through it because we are both committed to this relationship Mrs Davis and I love your daughter very much so despite the fact that you do not like me because I don't come from money"
"And you both think doing long distance is going to work out" Mom laughed "you haven't been together long, what do you both know about love?"
"More than you know obviously" I comment "Lucas is right Mom we have spoke about it and we are willing to do whatever it takes to make it work. It might not be perfect, but nothing is"
"For god sake Brooke wake up this is real life. We are not in a fairy-tale" Mom scoffs "this thing between you and this boy is not going to last forever"
"This boy is called Lucas and I will not sit here and let you speak to him like this" I was starting to get really frustrated with how she was speaking to Lucas now. How dare she?
"Victoria you will stop this right now" dad demands "we have spoke about this. You will drop it now. Its over"
"Fine" Mom barks back standing to her feet "then I no longer need to be here. I'm flying back to New York tonight. I'll see you there Richard" Mom gives me and Lucas one final glare and then she storms off making a scene.
"I'm very sorry Pumpkin I really didn't think she would make a scene like that in public that's why I brought us out here"
"It's okay daddy" it wasn't his fault that my mom was being a bitch about everything. She was only hungry and always has been every since I can remember.
The rest of the evening we spoke about colleges and dad was telling us about the business thriving in New York and how the merge wouldn't have mattered anyway because of how thriving the company was doing. After dinner daddy paid the bill and we headed out.
"It was lovely having dinner with you both" Daddy kissed my cheek and shook Lucas's hand "it was nice meeting you Lucas and thank you for making my princess happy"
"My pleasure Mr Davis" Lucas replied.
"Oh please call me Richard. Mr Davis was my father" Daddy kissed my cheek again "well Pumpkin I'm going to head back to New York too to make sure your Mom isn't acting out, but I'll see you in a couple of weeks for graduation"
"You're coming to graduation?"
"Of course" he smiled "I'll see you both then. Love you pumpkin"
"Love you too daddy" I gave him a last hug as his car came around the corner.
Once daddy was gone Lucas's car came around the corner. The valet got out and gave Lucas his keys and then we headed back to my house.
"You were right your dad is a good guy" Lucas says as we walk up to my front door.
"He really liked you Luke" I beam a smile up at him "you were pretty great tonight even how you answered to my Mother" I took my keys out my bag and opened the front door "did you mean what you said to her earlier about us making it work no matter where we end up?"
Lucas pulled my chin up a little so I was looking into his eyes. He nodded "of course I did Brooke. I'm in this for a really long time as long as you are"
"I am" I nod smiling at him "want to come in" he nods following me into my house and closing the door behind him.
