"Who would have thought the three of us would be alone, sad and single at our age" Crickett said shaking her head as she poured another glass of wine.

"We were the Queen's of Bluebell High" Lemon added clearly feeling the effects now that they were a bottle down "We were cheerleaders"

"That was why I was so excited to go to the lake house" AnnaBeth told them "Remember we buried our wishes in the sand"

"Oh, I remember" Crickett said excitedly "We had just lost cheerleading finals to Chickasaw"

"That was such a great weekend" Lemon said "So that is exactly why I got George to help me dig up these before we came"

AnnaBeth's eyes widened as Lemon took the box from her purse and set it on the table. She was so touched that Lemon had even thought of it.

"Lemon Breeland I never knew you were so sentimental" She teased.

"I was excited to go back there too" Lemon admitted "We came back from there ready to take on the world, and I figured we could all use a little bit of that right now"

"We were kicking the world's ass for a while there" She agreed "Ok open it I can't wait"

George walked over to their table with Kelly and a bottle of beer in hand. Herrmann had cornered him about recommending music acts for Molly's since he found out he was a music agent now.

"You need to watch out for these three drinking together" He warned Kelly "They're trouble"

"I don't doubt it" Kelly smirked.

"Enough" Lemon said holding up her hand "Crickett you're first"

Crickett opened up the folded paper that Lemon handed to her.

"I wish to win cheerleading finals next year, that my Dad will buy me that car I want and that I will one day be a head belle" Crickett read aloud "Well that part came true"

Lemon handed AnnaBeth her wish. She opened it excitedly but her smile quickly faded.

"Oh boy" She sighed "My wish is to marry Jake, or one of the Hanson brothers, and I hope we have three sons, who start a band, like the Hanson brothers. I don't know which part of that is sadder"

"My wish is to be as happy as I am tonight" Lemon said looking pleased with herself.

AnnaBeth burst out laughing she couldn't help it.

"What?" Lemon asked furrowing her brow.

"That's just because you got it on with George that night" She told her wiping her eyes.

"Oh, that's right" Crickett smirked.

"So, you two really were high school sweethearts?" Kelly asked.

"I wasn't sure we would be after that weekend" George replied with a fond smile "Those three trashed my parents lake house, I didn't think I'd see daylight again I was in so much trouble"

"I didn't know you had a wild side Lemon" He grinned shaking his head.

"She was the bad influence" She told him with a fond smile at her best friend "Do you remember the time she nearly burnt down the stadium"

"My favourite prank was still when you got that cow into Mrs Gleeson's classroom" George told her.

"Upstairs classroom" She added but stopped as she noticed Lemon getting slightly embarrassed.

It felt nice to reminisce with her friends about the good times. She liked her friends in Chicago, but you couldn't make new old friends. There was something special about spending time with the people who had known you your whole life.

"What was AB like?" Kelly asked pulling up a stool "Gabby wouldn't forgive me if I didn't get some dirt"

Lemon had been calling Kelly a no-good lowlife ever since AnnaBeth had called her. But since he had reached out to her friends when Gabby was taken into hospital tensions had eased somewhat between them. For AnnaBeth too. What had happened to Gabby and her friends showing up for her just helped her realise what was really important and that was friendship. Life was just too uncertain to be angry.

"Lemon's wacky sidekick" George said earning himself an elbow to the ribs from Lemon.

"The sweetest and most loyal friend" Lemon said.

"A flirt" Crickett added.

"I was not" She said shaking her head.

"I don't know, I still remember when you went to that dance with Jonah" Lemon laughed "And you were the one who helped me with…well never mind"

"Crickett, I thought you were dating that firefighter from Mobile?" She asked deciding it was the right time to change the subject.

"Jayseane has an ex-girlfriend everywhere we go" Crickett sighed "And she's also mad that I'm not actually divorced yet"

"I can see how both of those would be a problem" She said taking a large sip of wine "I am so happy for you, but I still can't believe you chose the middle of your vow renewal to come out"

"I know" Crickett nodded "Poor Stanley"

"Wedding's in Bluebell always have drama" Lemon said looking directly at George who looked like he wanted to ground to open up and swallow him whole.

"I don't know, a disaster day can lead to a happier life" She said choosing to find the positive "I had a perfect day, and it didn't lead to a happy marriage"

Lemon and Crickett caught her up with all of the town gossip. That Zoe Hart was pregnant with Wade Kinsella's baby. That they had celebrated baby Ethel's first birthday even though Lemon was still annoyed that her Father was still with Shelby. For a small town so much happened there.

"And how do you feel about Zoe and Wade?" She asked George knowing that there had been a bit of a love triangle, square or pentagon when it came to them, it was enough to make your head spin and she was never sure what was going on.

"Didn't you hear his song with Lilianne?" Lemon smirked shaking her head.

"You say you're a doctor why you bring me so much pain" Crickett sang.

"You're a singer?" Herrmann asked as he brought over another bottle of wine.

"He's actually really good" She said "You should get him on that karaoke machine to celebrate Molly's staying open"

"That's not a bad idea" Herrmann told her "Really stick it to those neighbours"

"Well I didn't mean…" She started.

But it was too late. Herrmann was kicking open the fire doors again and placing the speakers to really blast the music out. She looked at George apologetically for putting him on the spot like that. He didn't mind though, he loved to perform.

AnnaBeth grabbed her drink and pulled everyone up to show some support and dance along. They all deserved a little fun. Sure, there had been a lot of sad news, but there was also so much to celebrate as well.

She whooped as George started singing Jambalaya. It really did feel like being back home.

She raised an eyebrow as Kelly sat back holding his beer. She walked over to him and took his hand while everyone else was up dancing.

"Come on" She told him smiling "You don't get to just sit there"

"I don't dance" He told her shaking his head "Go and have a good time with your friends"

"I know I said it before, but I wanted to thank you" She said "Calling Lemon meant a lot, you really are something you know that"

"It wasn't a big deal" He shrugged.

"It was to me" She said "And if you really want to be my friend again you can come and dance with me"

"You don't play fair AB" He sighed shaking his head as he stood up.

"No I do not" she agreed giggling as he spun her around the wine well and truly going to her head.
