Hey guys, so I've seen I've got a new reader and I'm so happy about that. Thank you for reading my story and my other stories too. I appreciate it a lot.

So this time I haven't waited too long to post so I hope you are all happy about that lol.

I got to the restaurant my dad texted me and scanned the crowd of tables full of people. I spot my dad and the women who joined him at my high school graduation. He spots me and a huge smile forms on his face and he waves me over.

Lucas has offered to come with me, but I declined. I wanted it to be only us, but of course he invites her. I give myself a small sigh and head towards the table.

"Hi cookie" dad stands to greet me kissing the side of my head.

He pulls out my chair and I take a seat next to him and opposite her "thank you daddy" he nods and sits back in his chair.

"How was the after party?" Monica asks. I ignore her and turn to dad.

"I thought it would have been just us tonight"

"I know darling, but I thought it would be nice to include Monica with you" he replied taking her hand she placed on the table.

To stop myself from throwing up I roll my eyes and turn away. I throw my hand in the air "waiter can I have a glass of coke please" I get a nod and he scatters away.

"Brooke I thought..."

"Well I don't mean to sound rude Dad, but you thought wrong. It wasn't nice bringing her to my graduation when I don't even know her. It wasn't nice telling me about you and Mother at my graduation and it definitely wasn't nice you bringing her here to dinner when it should have been just me and you"

I was mad. Like super mad. Why do they do things like this. Why do they never think about me in their decision making.

"Brooklyn" Dad says my name softly and I could tell he knew I was mad "I'm sorry" he states "I didn't mean to make you mad cookie. I just... I'm sorry"

Realising that Dad didn't bring her along on purpose to annoy me I give a little sigh "I just don't understand how you and mom have ended and so quickly"

"Darling" dad turned fully to me and took my hand in his "your mom and I have been unhappy with each other for a very long time and I just can't go on like that anymore and obviously neither can she"

"But moving on so soon Dad. Didn't you love mom at all" I look from Monica back to Dad "and telling me like this was just so mean. Don't I deserve better. At least a phone call or even a face time"

"You're right Brooke and I'm sorry for how I've done this and I'm sorry that you're hurting"

I nod glad he understood where I was coming from "I loved your mom ever so much and sometimes I think I loved her more than she loved me and I'm probably right with that. Your Mom was the love of my life, but we haven't been happy sweetie and she walked out on me"

"I get that dad" I say trying to stop the tears from falling "I just wished she was a better mom and a better wife"

He leaned in and brought my head to his lips kissing my forehead as I bowed my head "I wish that too pumpkin. I really do"

The rest of the evening I slowly warmed to Monica being there with us and it turned out that she wasn't that bad of a person. She has 3 children back in New York. 2 girls and a boy one of the girls being my age.

After dinner with Dad and Monica I headed back home. Things were different. Things were happening suddenly. I didn't know how to take it all at once.

We had a trip planned before going off to college, but everyone decided to cancel and just spend the time in Tree Hill. So the past many weeks we have been doing couple dates and adventures together. We've been to the beach, theme park and all other stuff.

I was now sitting up on the cliff looking over at the view. We had come to the lake to swim and have fun. I had on a red poky dot bikini with Jean shorts covering the panties.

"There you are" Lily sat down beside me just having come out of the lake. Her brownish hair dripping with water. She tempted to dry her hair with her towel "you okay Brooke? Luke is looking for you"

I was silent for a few minutes and I could feel her eyes still on me "Brooke?"

I knocked the single tear from my eye and give her a hearty smile "yeah I'm good" it was a lie, but I don't show it "we should go back before Lucas calls in the FBI and we both know he would"

She just looks at me for a minute as if she was trying to read me. I took a steady breathe hoping she couldn't.

And then she spoke "okay yeah let's head back" I let out another shaky breathe glad she couldn't read me and we headed back to the others.

"I think something may be up with Brooke" Lily says to Rachel "I just found her up on the cliff and she looked like she had been crying or something. She tried playing it off, but I don't know" Rachel looked over at her friend.

"I'll talk to her later" she promised Lily. Lily nodded and walked off.

Two arms wrapped around my waist from behind and a soft kiss went to my neck "I've been looking for you" he whispers into my ear "are you okay?" I nod turning in his arms and pulling him into a make out session.

In two weeks it was going to be the end of summer and the start to a new adventure and it all suddenly became real. I was going to California alone to make new friends.

Lucas pulled back and his eyes met mine and he knew me all too well. He could see the pain and sadness behind my eyes and through the fake smile I tried giving him .

"Pretty girl what's really the matter"

"Its nothing really" I tried playing off.

Lucas took my hand and pulled me into the tree's away from our friends. He twirled me into him and we sat on a rock.

"You can tell me anything and I promise to listen and to understand" he says moving a hair from my eyes.

I look down at our entwined hands and I could feel my eyes starting to get hot again and my heart felt heavy "its just that... its only now dawned on me that we are parting and I don't mean just me and you, but also the girls and I. We've never been apart since we've been friends and I don't know what I'm going to do when I go to college and I won't get to see you everyday like we have been doing" tears start to fall.

"I'm just finding it hard at the moment" I admit "I mean I knew this was going to happen, but its just gotten very real to me that's all"

"Hey hey hey" he lifts my chin with his fingers and wipes my cheeks to get the wetness away "I get it and I understand pretty girl. It's going to be hard for everyone to be apart from each other and it will suck at first because it will suck for us all, but you'll make new friends and the girls will do the same, but there are holidays we will all come home for so please don't be too sad" he kisses my cheek and then my lips "and as for me and you we will face time all the time and phone call every morning and night. I love you Brooke Davis and we will make us work I promise"

I give him the biggest smile and jump into his arms "I love you too Luke"
