Evie was just getting ready for bed when it happened. She was in her cute kitten PJ's, wearing her too big fluffy socks and was coming back from having her hot chocolate with Jack, a night-time ritual Evie and Jack started a couple of years back when they both couldn't sleep.
Evie had thought once he had turned into the new God, he would stop the ritual with her, but he came every night without fail. It made Evie's heart fill with joy when he showed up the night he first became the new God.
She and her nephew had an odd relationship, it was a mix between, aunt, sister and mother. Evie had taken up the role of being a female role model for him, even though she, herself was childlike and often confused about human customs, but they helped each other out.
Evie was walking back to her bed with a content smile, she had shut her door and was only steps away from her warm bundle of blankets, which acted more like a nest than an actual bed when she found herself in an alleyway.
It took Evie a moment to realise that she even moved, and when she did, she tensed up tighter than Sam when there was a clown. Evie knew that she was in another world, a world that her father, God, or Chuck as he preferred, didn't create.
It didn't make any sense to her, Evie was confused about how she ended up here, the only reasoning she could think of was that Jack had sent her here, but why would he? Archangels like herself could go to other universes, at the cost of great power drainage that could last months, and her powers don't work properly, so she knew she didn't do it by accident.
Evie took a deep breath in, to try and calm herself down, but all that did was breed more problems. There were a lot of smells in the air, far stronger than the regular human scent that all humans gave off.
Humans gave off an earthy scent, some were mixed with floral hints and some were mixed with spices, and they all had artificial scents too, whether it be from soap or coffee they drink every day, but these scents seemed to be all-natural.
But what confused Evie the most was a different mix of scents that filled the air, she couldn't quite describe it, it was three scents mixed with some underlying feeling. The confusing scents made Evie think about wolf packs.
'Maybe they are some sort of pack humans?' Evie thought to herself confused.
Evie looked around the alleyway that she was in, there was only one exit, the one way being a dead end, and the other going out to a street only lit by a dim streetlamp. Evie chose to towards the street, she needed to find out where she was. The Archangel knew it was earth, but where on earth was another matter.
When Evie got to the street, it was eerily quiet, there wasn't anyone on the street, but to be fair, it looked like she was in some sort of abandoned area of a city. She could see city lights not too far from the street she was in, so Evie decided to follow them, try to maybe find some help.
It didn't take too long walking towards the city lights before she came across someone. It was a female human, though she smelt funny to Evie, it was one of the unknown scents. The lady was just openly staring at the Archangel like she was shocked to see her there.
"Excuse me, I seem to be lost, could you perhaps tell me where I am?" Evie enquires, not moving closer to the staring woman.
That seemed to snap the woman out of her stupor as she replied, "Where is your owner?"
Evie tilted her head at the question, "I do not have an owner." Evie explained with confusion in her tone.
'What did this lady mean by owner? Do humans have owners?' Evie thought with a bemused look on her face.
"You don't? Has your mate just not claimed you yet?" The woman asks, walking closer to Evie while smelling the air.
"Mate? I also do not have a mate, claimed or otherwise." Evie says, starting to feel like this woman means trouble.
Once the woman gets a couple of feet away, she puts on a rather happy smile, almost like she is giddy. Even as one as confused by humans as Evie knew that this wasn't probably going to end well. Well, if she was human anyway. Even without her a majority of her powers ad wings, she was a lot stronger than humans and most monsters.
"You said you were lost? You are in Annapolis, Maryland. How about I help you out? Being un-owned and un-mated omega is dangerous you know." The woman said to Evie, but Evie couldn't process what she heard.
It wasn't the fact that she was somehow in Maryland, but the fact that she said omega. Evie's thought about wolf packs was right, she was smelling the different ranks, or in what Charlie had told her about fanfictions, genders.
"I am sorry what?" Evie blurted out.
The woman couldn't believe her luck, this Omega was clueless about what she was saying, though it didn't surprise her considering a lot of Omegas were usually kept under lock and key by their family unless they were sold privately, escaped or stolen. She was going to take this young girl to the first auction she could find and sell her.
"Oh you poor thing, why don't you come with me and I can get you some help." The woman said with a fake smile, trying to sound sincere to the girl.
Evie knew that this woman wouldn't get her help, but she could take her to the city or somewhere close enough so she didn't have to walk all the way. "Oh, ok, thank you very much." Evie quietly said with a small smile, trying to seem more vulnerable.
…
Evie was pleasantly surprised when the woman had brought her into the city centre, she could find her way from here. Maybe there were hunters or men of letters that could help her get home. The thought made her wonder if the others knew she was missing, or how long she had been gone.
Knowing that Jack would know something was wrong when she would not show up for their nightly hot chocolate, but the boys, Sam, Dean and Castiel might not realise until Jack does.
It wasn't uncommon for Evie to be a hermit in her room and binge-watch cartoons or even just wander off in the forest for hours at a time. The Angel wasn't too worried, both about her current situation, seemingly being kidnapped nor being in a different universe. She would find a way to get home eventually, it's not like she was getting any older.
The woman pulled over behind what looked like a town Hall or church-like building and got out of the in a hurry. "Come on, follow me, there are people in here that can help you." She tells Evie, opening the door and grabbing Evie's arm in a vice-like grip.
If it wasn't for the tight grip, Evie would have stumbled getting out. Normally Evie, despite being an Archangel, was pretty clumsy, but this time it was being pulled so roughly out of the car.
"Where are we going?" Evie asks with a slight whimper, coming off as being hurt by the grip.
The woman turns around and smirks, "I'm helping you, I'm getting you an owner."
That's when Evie sniffed the air again and realised that there was a lot of human scents in this building, there were also scents of pseudo-monsters. "Oh…" Evie realised what this was, she was going to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Now, Evie could have escaped by now, but she was rather curious about how much she would sell for as an Omega. 'I wonder if I smell human or Angel or both.' She thought amused.
While lost in thought, Evie didn't even realise that they were in the building until a man, what she was assuming was a Beta, like the woman, who took her, put a collar on her. "What is this for?" she said startled by the sudden touch.
"It hides your Omega scent, stops the Alphas getting too testy." The man says with a scoff.
"Ah." That was all Evie said before she was taken away from the woman and lead to a different room.
An old heavyset man came into the room not long after Evie was dragged in and gave her a look over, shaking his head at what he saw. "We don't have time to clean her, we will just have to change and brand her quickly. Though the girl does have a unique look to her." The older man says, taking in her natural hair colour and green eyes that seemed almost too green.
At the mention of branding, Evie became stiff and alert. There was no way she was letting these humans brand her. "I beg your pardon, branding?" Evie asks, trying not to let her disgust through in her voice.
Both men laughed at her, "To show that you are owned, or well, Will be owned." The younger Beta man sneers.
Evie bristled, a bad feeling coming over her. She was going to have to fight them. Although the Archangel has gotten many scars being a hunter while pretending to be somewhat human, she would not sand getting branded, regardless if she could heal it or not.
"I am very sorry to inform you, but you will not be branding me," Evie says in a firm tone, standing straighter, getting ready to fight.
"You don't have a choice bitch." The older man says, reaching out to grab her.
The moment he touched her is when Evie twisted his arm behind his back and dislocated it. The man let out a screech in pain, falling to the fall. The younger of the two shocked for a moment before grabbing the closest thing to him to use as a weapon, which happened to be the branding iron.
Evie glanced at the offending weapon, still warm and coated in blood and skin from the other omegas. "I'll brand you, even if I have to hit that pretty face of yours." The younger Beta spat, inching closer.
Evie could hear the rushed footsteps of other Beta's and an Alpha coming closer, it would be easier to disable this man first than use the iron as a weapon herself. She made the first movie, stepping over the older Beta and reaching forward to grab the middle of the branding iron and using her other arm to know it out of his hand.
Now holding the branding iron, she swings out hitting the man in the head, not enough to kill him, but enough to knock him out. But doing so, she didn't hear the door open and the other Betas come in until she felt a hand about to cover her mouth.
Instincts kicked in and she bit down on the hand threatening to cover her mouth, though she forgot how much pressure it takes to bite off fingers, and bit through one of his fingers.
Blood spurting in her mouth and face, she pushed the screaming man back as the two other Betas tried to subdue her with some sort of capturing ropes.
The two other betas looked at the Omega in shock, it wasn't often that they saw an Omega that would fight back, but with the blood on the young omegas face and that predatory look in her eyes, it made her look feral, and a feral Omega was unheard of.
It made the betas take a step back away from her, they were going to have to wait for the Alpha down the hall to come in. Seconds later the Alpha came bursting in, his aura and scent flaring.
The Alpha had heard the screams and started to make his way to them, not particularly rushing, he didn't smell any blood, so it couldn't have been too urgent. But the moment he did smell it, he came running to the room where they first take the Omegas.
When he entered the room, he flared his Alpha aura and scent on instinct, to challenge the threat. What he saw was three men on the ground, bloody and missing a finger and then he saw the Omega. He was shocked to see that it was the small Omega that had a weapon and blood on her face. She seemed feral.
He growled at the girl, to face him, but when she turned to look him in the eye, even the Alpha stepped back, nearly fearful for his life. He couldn't believe that an Omega could do this, especially to an Alpha, even his Alpha scent and aura seemed to not affect her.
Was this a feral Omega? He couldn't be sure, h had never heard of an Omega being feral, but it was the only explanation the Alpha could come up with at the time. "I need you to put down the iron." The Alpha said calmly to her, even with the work he was in, instinct made him want to not hurt the Omega.
The Angel looked at the Alpha than to the iron. "No, if I do, you will brand me," Evie spoke clearly and calmly back to the supposed Alpha.
The Alpha thought for a moment, she wasn't feral, she could talk and reason clearly, it just seemed as though she didn't want to be branded. "How about we make a deal?" he asked her, not moving.
"Go on." Evie prompted.
"We won't brand you, but you have to be compliant, let us bind your hands, you are dangerous." The Alpha proposes to the Omega.
"Do I have your word? I will know if you are lying." Evie says, glaring at the Alpha.
"You have my word, we won't brand you." The Alpha agrees.
Evie take a moment to look at the Alpha, he wasn't lying to her, and they wouldn't be branding her. "Ok." She says dropping the branding iron and holding her hands out, ready to be tied up.
The Alpha and the two non-injured betas looked at her in shock that she was complying that easy, considering what she had down to three men. "Tie up her arm, carefully." The Alpha said to the betas who were looking hesitant.
"What is your name, Omega?" The Alpha asks.
"Evangeline Stclair." She answered honestly as there was no point in lying or using a fake name.
"You can call me Dave." The Alpha said in return, walking towards the newly tied up Omega and pulling her by the rope out of the room.
The Alpha, Dave, pulled Evie along a dimly lit corridor, it smelt of blood and tears, Evie guessed that not a lot of Omegas put up a fight in being sold. Evie was concluding that Omegas are just slaves or something along those lines. She was not going to be a slave to someone, especially not some human who thought it was their right to own her.
"Wait here, the announcer will call you and then that woman over there, Sharon will bring you on stage," Dave said to the little Omega, looking down at her to see that her expression was not one of fear or worry, it was one of, and he dares say boredom.
'Just who the hell is this Omega?'
"Ok." That was all Evie replied, glancing at the woman and then glancing at the announcer.
The Alpha just shook his head, "Good luck kid."
Evie just tsked, 'I am not a kid.'
The Alpha, Dave, walked away but staying close, just in case the Omega decided to attack again.
"Our next Omega is a latecomer, only arriving a mere half hour ago, she is a special Omega, as she seems to be in the stages of going feral!"
…
Hannibal and his mate, Will were meeting Jack Crawford and Alana Bloom at a semi-legal Omega action in Annapolis, Maryland. Will was recently assigned to a case where omegas from this auction were being killed and had their uteruses torn out and splayed open. So they were there to investigate, Hannibal easily getting them access due to his status and reputation.
Hannibal thought that Omega auctions were crude and rather disgusting. He didn't like the idea of using a branding iron to mark an Omega, he preferred the traditional way to mark your mate, by biting them. He also couldn't stand the smell, being a true Alpha, he had a heightened sense of smell, and he could smell the lust, fear, blood, tears and just the overall smell of the egotistical rich. It disgusted him, and he was a cannibal.
His mate, Will Graham, an Alpha, though only recently outed, he had been taking Beta pills, to mask his scent and compress his Alpha aura, his father was to blame for that. Wills Beta father didn't like the fact that his son presented as an Alpha during puberty and forced him to take the Beta pills, which made Wills mind unstable.
Hannibal had been pleasantly surprised when Will stopped taking the Beta pills and his natural scent presented, it was the scent of his mate. It wasn't common to find your mate, but it certainly wasn't uncommon. Hannibal had his guesses when he first met the empath Alpha that he would be his mate, he just had a feeling, that and he could smell the Beta pills on him.
Will was shocked that Hannibal, his psychiatrist, was his mate. He had been hesitant and even scared at first, especially since he knew of Hannibal's 'hobby. But that all faded away with time as he accepted that Hannibal was hit mate and that he loved him, even if he was a cannibalistic serial killer.
Will had kept himself hidden for years, and when Hannibal confronted him about the Beta pills he was terrified to go off of them. But Hannibal's charm and what Will guessed was the natural mating pull, he slowly weened himself off of them, and when it was completely out of his system, Hannibal had visited him at his out in wolf trap and discovered that they were mates.
Will was the submissive in their relationship, not that he minded, he liked Hannibal taking care of him, and it also meant that he would feel just a little bit compelled to do what Hannibal ordered if it was for his well-being.
Even with Hannibal being seated next to him, feeling protected and safe, he still had this very overwhelming feeling of uncertainty. He had felt the fear and sorrow from the omegas being sold and he could feel the lust and even disgust from the alphas and betas in the audience, but there was this unnatural feel in the air that confused Will.
He wasn't sure where it was coming from until they all heard male screaming and not too long after, blood from a Beta. It made the room unsettled, though Hannibal had a look of slight amusement. Of course.
Hannibal liked the thought that an Omega had hurt a few of the Beta staff here, an amusing thought that gender as weak an Omega could seemingly do this damage that he was smelling. The scent of the fight was stopped when an Alpha had joined in the mix of scents and was surprised when the Alpha had a scent of fear for a moment.
Was it an Omega? He assumed it was because he couldn't smell their scent, they were wearing a scent collar. It could have been an exotic Beta or even in the rare case of an Alpha being sold, but he doubted that, he had a feeling it was an Omega.
"Something seems to have gone wrong," Jack remarked to his colleagues.
"The Omega is probably putting up a fight," Alana replies to Jack, worried for the Omega.
Alana was the only Beta between her colleagues here, not that it ever stopped her from voicing her opinion or speaking back, she was one of the more uninfluenced to basic Alpha aura and scents.
"So they should." Will agrees, feeling even angrier about being here.
Will was really against the auctions, he always that it was inhumane and still so medieval. To buy another human and most always all the time, take away their freedom, was something that Will was all too familiar with, his father taking his choice away by forcing him the take the Beta pills and emotionally abusing him to do so.
Even though Omegas were bought and usually kept as slaves or for breeding, once they were mated or bought, if their mate or owner allows it, they could work or do anything any other gender could. Which was confusing in itself, why allow them all of that when they are still slave, third class people? Will could argue and rant for hours about it.
Sensing Wills growing anger, Hannibal grabbed Wills hand tightly, allowing him to start calming down. He understood his anger, but they had to focus on trying to identifying their killer.
Everyone in the room seemed to be sitting on the edge of their seats when the Alpha that was with the Omega was standing close to the stage, with a blood scented person next to them, the Omega.
"Our next Omega is a latecomer, only arriving a mere half hour ago, she is a special Omega, as she seems to be in the stages of going feral!" the announcer shouted as a woman brought out a small omega whose face was covered in blood and tied up.
This made everyone in the audience start to talk and gasp, Will and Hannibal knew, just by looking at the small girl, that she wasn't feral, Hannibal couldn't smell feral on her, and the collars didn't hide a feral smell, and Will could tell by just looking at her. She seemed to be calm and collected, she was the one that fought with the betas. But were they just calling her a feral to get people to buy her, or was there something else?
…
When the woman tugged Evie on stage, there was an immediate reaction of the audience, the busted out talking to each other, wonderings about a feral Omega, it nearly made Evie roll her eyes.
Evie decided to look around the audience, to get a feel of the possible buyers she would have, but she caught two scents that seemed to mingle together, they smelt like dog hair, some expensive cologne, a snowy forest, a springtime field and oddly enough, it was the scent of human flesh that tied them together and to Evie, this merged scent was the most pleasing scent she has smelt so far.
The Archangel snapped her head towards where the scents were coming from, only to be taken aback by who she saw. Sitting at a table to her left was Hannibal Lecter, Will Graham, Jack Crawford and Alana Bloom. She shook her head, thinking that she must have been confused. But she wasn't.
She seemed to be in an alternate universe of the TV show Hannibal. Where it seems to have an A/B/O society and even monsters like she had in her universe. She needed them to buy her. If she stuck close to them, maybe it would be easier to find a way home.
"Tai buvo jos dantys dubenyje." Evie said in Lithuanian, loud enough to be heard by Hannibal and Will.
She had noticed that they were looking at her beforehand like everyone else was, but they had a different look than most when the announcer called her feral, and when she spoke, 'It was her teeth in the bowl.' In Lithuanian, it made both Hannibal and Will look at her with a dark look and with shock.
She knew it was not a very nice thing to say to get their attention, but she needed to say it, she needed to be bought by them. Evie could prove to them who she was, where she came from, and she could meet her favourite TV characters.
Hannibal and Will were shaken at the words that came out of the small Omega, how could she have possibly known that. Hannibal knew had only ever told two people about his sister, Bedelia and Will. So how did she know?
"Hannibal…" Will started, he knew now where that weird feeling was coming from, it was the girl, and somehow she knows about Hannibal's sister, about his past, she even said it in Hannibal's native language.
"I know." Hannibal didn't need to say more, he knew that Will wanted to 'buy' the Omega, and so did he, Hannibal needed to know how she knew that, that and her scent, even blocked by the collar was confusing him.
Hannibal would spend whatever he needed to, buy that Omega, money wasn't exactly a problem for him, even without his inheritance, Hannibal quite wealthy.
"Do you know what the girl said?" Alana asks Hannibal and Will.
"Yes, I do, something about my sister," Hannibal said, not exactly lying.
"You planning on buying a feral Omega?" Jack questions with a judgemental look.
Hannibal just smiles politely at Jack, letting Will answer. "She isn't a feral, she just didn't want to be branded, so she lashed out, besides, she knows something about Hannibal," Will said, not taking his eyes off of the Omega, who in turn was looking at both him and his mate.
"$500,000," Hannibal said, leaving no room in his tone for negotiation.
As a True Alpha, the others could feel his power, knowing that he wasn't to be challenged because they wouldn't win.
Jack and Alana choke at the amount Hannibal is willing to pay for the blood-covered Omega, not thinking she was worth that much money. Will just smiled at Hannibal and his flashing wealth. He knew Hannibal would pay any price to quench his curiosity over this strange girl.
Evie looks over to Hannibal, amused at the price that he was willing to pay for her. Half a million dollars wasn't bad, 'I bet that Sam and Dean would get this much.'
The auctioneer stutters at the price before yelling sold, knowing that no one else was going to try to outbid the True Alpha.
Not once has Evie's eyes left the area of Will and Hannibal, she was thankful that Hannibal bought her, she can start to plan a way home now, but maybe not straight away, she was able to meet her favourite characters after all.
Evie started to walk towards the table where her new owners were, Hannibal and Will standing up, walking to the stage as she hopped off of it to greet her.
"We should talk."
