AN: Another chapter for the Legendborn! This time we'll learn what happened to the ones who were put to sleep by that strange man, and what they'll be doing now.

Let's go! (-o-)

Seth groaned and slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a dark cold stone room, his arms chained to the wall.

"Well, this sucks.", he muttered, "But my mother wasn't a police officer for nothing."

He nimbly wriggled a lockpick into his fingers and started fiddling with the lock in his manacles. After a few minutes of work, there finally came a satisfying click and the manacle fell off his wrist and hit the floor with a loud clank.

Knowing that he did not have much time before someone would come to see what he was doing, he quickly reached over and unlocked his other wrist. As soon as he was free, he stood up and reached for a Pokeball...only to find they were gone.

Cursing, Seth made his way to the rusty celldoor, readying another pick to open it. Looking out, he could see he was at the edge of a long hallway of cells, all shrouded in darkness. He had no idea where he was, but he knew he had to find his friends and get out of here.

As he started walking down the hall, he saw that the cells were all empty. That was certainly odd.

He heard hurried footsteps coming from ahead, and spotted a black-cloaked figure charting towards him, readying a sharp dagger. But Seth wasn't afraid. Pulling on the strange power he'd only discovered yesterday, he lit up his fist with electricity and punched the cultist right in the grotesque mask, shocking them and sending them crumpling soundlessly to the ground.

Seth checked their pockets and procured a ring of keys and two more daggers. He kept all three of the items and continued hurrying down the hall, which ended with a flight of stairs.

Seth frowned as he headed up them, silently praying to Arceus nothing bad had happened to them. He reached the top of the stairs and found himself in another corridor of cell blocks, where he found Cain still unconscious in his cell.

Using the keys he'd looted, Seth unlocked the door and then walked over to Cain. Seeing how Cain was shivering, Seth realized that he was having a nightmare.

"Hey. Hey, dude. Wake up.", Seth whispered.

Cain growled, "Why do they respect you so much more than me? I am their son too!"

He was still in the nightmare.

Seth shook Cain's shoulders. "Come on, wake up! Before the cultists find us!"

"I'mma kill you!", Cain snarled.

Seth activated his electric fist and shocked him.

"Egad!" Cain's yellow eyes flew open. "Whoa, where are we?"

Seth replied, "We're in a dungeon of some sort. I'm trying to get us out of here. Our Pokemon were stolen and I still don't know where Rex or Victor went."

Cain replied, "Well, come on then! We can't let our Pokemon be kept by those villains any longer!"

Seth couldn't help but note how he seemed to care more for the Pokemon than their friends.

As they hurried down the hallway, checking every cell for a sign of their friends, Seth asked, "So, uh, Cain...it looked like you were having quite a nightmare back there. Do you want to talk about it?"

Cain shot him a very dirty look. "It's nothing. Now shut up."

Seth had not been expecting such a severe response, so he didn't want to try pushing it. But it had certainly seemed pretty bad.

Seth noticed they were reaching the end of this particular corridor. But this time, there was something in front of the stairs.

A shadow Ursaluna guarded them, growling gutturally at the two boys.

"Shoot, are we going to have to fight that huge Pokemon...with none of our own!?", cried Cain.

Seth chuckled. "We're Legendborn for a reason, dude. We have the power to fight Pokemon if necessary."

He summoned the electric energy around his fists again. "Come at me, Ursaluna!", he yelled.

The bear Pokemon roared ferociously in response.

Cain sighed, and readied his fists. "You know we're gonna die now, right?"

Seth replied, "Nope! Just try to connect to your aura...at least one of your powers should manifest."

The Ursaluna charged at Seth, and he rolled to the side, while also swinging a jab at the Pokemon's side. But when his fist connected, nothing happened.

Seth cursed. "Gah, it's a Ground-type! Now would be a really good time to try and use some of your powers!"

Cain replied, "But I can't! I don't even know what Legendary chose me!"

"Neither do I!", retorted Seth, "Just try!"

The Ursaluna roared and slammed its paws into the ground, causing a minor earthquake that knocked the two of them off their feet. Cain started trying to concentrate, which meant Seth now needed to distract the bear.

"Come here, funky eyebrows!", Seth taunted, readying himself to dodge when it came at him.

The Ursaluna roared, and charged at him, its teeth beginning to glow with dark energy. Seth tried to dodge, but the Ursaluna was smarter this time, sinking its fangs into his leg and pulling him down.

"Argh!", he cried, the pain blazing up his spine. He tried futilely to pummel its head, but it simply closed his jaws harder and making an audible crunch. The pain nearly caused him to black out.

"Cain! Help!", he cried, the Ursaluna trying to shake him like a chew toy. Cain saw Seth's dire plight, and his eyes widened. He reached out his hand, not expecting to do anything, but a strange power began humming through the cavern, and his eyes lit up solid green.

The Ursaluna shuddered as a strange force took hold of it, and a brilliant glow suffused its body, expelling the shadows and causing it to shudder and release its jaws. The red fury in its eyes vanished, and it looked rather sorrowful.

Cain's eyes stopped glowing, and he shuddered as the power that had been flowing through him vanished. He ran over to Seth's side, and looked horrified at the sight of his wound.

Seth muttered, "Wish...you'd been...a little...faster..."

Cain replied, "Well, I did something, didn't I?"

Seth nodded. "Yeah. What it was, on the other hand...I have no idea."

The Ursaluna nuzzled his leg and the deep bloody wounds marked in it.

"We need...to get that...looked at.", murmured Seth. He sat up, and started cutting up the legs of his jeans and using them as bandages, wincing with every wrap he made.

The Ursaluna crawled over to a cell door and started tugging at one of the bars. Cain had no idea what it was doing, but he was more preoccupied with Seth's injury.

"Distract...me.", Seth requested, "What...do you think...that power was?"

Cain replied, "It was Order. The unnatural chaos flowing through that Ursaluna...I diffused it. I must have been chosen by Zygarde."

Seth asked, "Any idea why...it chose you...in particular?"

Cain shook his head. "None in the slightest."

"We'll just...have to...find out, won't...we?", Seth replied.

He sighed in relief as he finished bandaging his wound. Already red was seeping through, but it looked like it would do the trick for at least a little while.

There was a loud screech and a clang as the Ursaluna ripped a bar from the cell door. It plodded over to Seth and dropped it at his feet.

"I am sorry, Legendborn.", it said, "I was not myself. I thank you for saving me from that madness, and pray that you will survive to vanquish the Darkness before it is too late."

"Do not worry...Ursaluna...I understand.", Seth replied, "Thank you...for the...bar, I might...be able...to get out...of here with it. Would you..be willing...to help us...at least for a little while?"

The Ursaluna nodded. "Of course, especially for the one who freed me from the monster's control. My name is Selene."

It turned towards Cain and bowed slightly. "Who might you be, chosen of the Order Guardian?"

"My name's Cain Govinia, and that's Seth over there.", Cain replied, "We're trying to find our friends Victor and Rex."

"Ah, that's probably who I'm smelling above.", Selene commented, "Although there is one other."

"We have to find out who that is.", Cain said, "Do you think you can stand up, Seth?"

Seth grabbed onto the bar, and, using it like a staff, managed to pull himself up. "Yeah...just not...gonna be fast."

Selene replied, "If these tunnels were bigger, I would offer to carry you...but we'll have to wait until we get outside."

Seth nodded. "That's fine...I'm tough."

"Let's get going, then, before our friends run into trouble.", declared Cain, and they hurried up to the next floor.

But about halfway through, they ran into Rex and Victor, both free, with none other than Zoey standing among them.

"What in the name of Arceus have you gotten yourselves into?", she asked.

Seth chuckled. "I could say the same...How did...you...find us?"

"Oh, I saw that weird guy kidnap you and go through a portal. I simply used my Zorua's illusion and followed him.", Zoey replied, "Even then, it took me a while to find you all. We appear to be in the ruins of some ancient fortress, so I have no idea where we are in relation to our friends. I also haven't been able to find your guys' Pokemon."

"Oh no.", everybody said.

Cain asked, "We're going to get them back, right?"

Rex added, "Yeah, right?"

Zoey and Seth nodded.

"We're also going to find out what really is going on here.", stated Victor, "The Darkness...whatever he's doing, we need to figure out what it is and stop it. Fast."

Seth replied, "Then...we've got...no time...to waste. Let's go!"

They all hurried towards the next floor, their new mission established. (-o-)

AN: Another chapter done! I've always had a soft spot for Zygarde, although it's weird and somewhat disturbing at times, so Cain's powers are going to be rather interesting.

So it seems the Legendborn have split into two parties. What happens to each of them, we'll find out in the coming chapters. Some more of the Darkness and his plans will come to light, and it's beginning to form a most dreadful picture.

That's all for now. See you next time!
