Hello. Goodbye.

NOTE: Lots more jumping around and there's nothing I can do about it. I am determined to finish this awful situation next chapter even if I have to make it 10,000 words long. So look forward to that^^

I OWN NOTHING.

''Aren't you ready yet, dear? You have to get changed,'' Rin's aunt told her. ''People will arrive soon.''

Rin was laying in bed with her head in Kagome's lap.

''Is Jihayo in the living room?'' Kagome asked.

Sakura nodded. ''Yes, yes, everything is settled.''

''I don't understand why they decided to do the funeral here instead of doing it at the funeral home. This is more painful,'' Kagome said.

''Well, yes, but that's what my sister-in-law wanted,'' Sakura shrugged. ''She wants us all to say goodbye to my brother here, at his house. Thank you, Kagome, for staying with my niece all night.''

''Don't even mention it, Miss Sakura,'' Kagome held onto Rin.

''I still don't understand what happened,'' Rin whimpered. ''What happened while he was at Sesshomaru's ranch?''

''I don't know, dear. Sesshomaru just arrived and Raven wanted to speak with him,'' Sakura told her.

''I want to hear it too,'' Rin said before getting out of bed with the help of her best friend.

''I'll help you get dressed,'' Kagome offered.

''Sit down,'' Raven told Sesshomaru when they stepped into Jihayo's office. Rin followed soon after. ''You're just in time, princess. Sesshomaru is going to tell us what happened to make your father have a heart attack.'' Rin stood next to her mother. ''We're listening.''

''The admiral came to my ranch to ask me for an explanation. And I told him the truth,'' Sesshomaru explained.

''Which truth?'' Rin questioned fearfully.

Sesshomaru grimaced. ''He learned that your mother and my uncle were lovers for many years.''

''Oh, my God,'' Rin whimpered.

''How could you do something like that?'' Raven questioned tearfully.

''What else? What else did you tell him, Sesshomaru?'' Rin asked. ''Did you dare tell him the awful things that you think about me? Did you tell him all of those damn lies?''

''I didn't tell him any lies!'' Sesshomaru snapped.

''You're a monster. Why? Why did you do it? Do you realize what you did? You killed him! Sesshomaru, you killed my father! This is your fault! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!'' Rin sobbed as she ran out the door.

Right after the funeral, Sesshomaru went back to his house in the city to see his family waiting for him.

''How'd it go?'' Inuyasha asked him.

''Bad,'' Sesshomaru sighed.

''What's going on, son?'' Inutashio asked him. ''Inuyasha won't tell us anything.''

''Rin's father came to see me when he found out Rin and I separated,'' Sesshomaru explained. ''I yelled at him that his daughter was a tramp and...he collapsed. He's dead.''

''Oh, no,'' Izayoi gasped. ''Oh, poor, Rin.''

''Rin blames me for his death and she's right in certain ways. I was carried along by the anger, and all the pain I have inside. I told him the truth,'' Sesshomaru shrugged. ''Well, I didn't have a reason to lie.''

''Yes, but you're not the only one to blame, brother,'' Inuyasha reminded him. ''You told me what Sara said to him. Did you tell Rin?''

Sesshomaru shook his head. ''No. What's the point?''

''Rin won't forgive you if she thinks you killed her father!'' Inuyasha exclaimed. ''Sara is just as much to blame, if not more for what happened to him!''

''I'm not looking for her forgiveness!'' Sesshomaru snapped.

''Not yet, maybe. But I have a feeling you're gonna want it someday, son,'' Inutashio told him. ''Let's go, honey. We need to check on the poor woman who was unfortunate enough to meet our stubborn son and bear his child. Our grandchild.''

''Sesshomaru, I honestly hope you don't ever look for Rin's forgiveness. Because I don't think you're gonna get it,'' Izayoi told him.

''God be with you, son,'' Inutashio sighed and left with his wife.

''Good luck to you, brother,'' Inuyasha said. ''I hope with all my heart, that you're right, and that Rin's child isn't yours because if it is, it's too late to recover your family now.''

Two days went by and Rin's family returned home after putting Jihayo to rest. Rin found Sayo in her room, folding and putting away clothes.

''I've told you before, Sayo, you are not a maid in this house,'' Rin reminded her. ''Stop it.''

''Did you see Sesshomaru?'' Sayo asked.

''No, he didn't go but I don't care,'' Rin whimpered.

''You don't love him anymore?'' Sayo asked.

''I hate him, Sayo,'' Rin told her. ''I hate him for everything he's done to me. And because if it hadn't been for him, my dad would be with me right now.''

''Miss Rin, you have a visitor,'' Emerald informed her.

''Who is it?'' Rin asked.

''He said his name is Inuyasha,'' Emerald answered.

''Inuyasha..'' Rin thought about it for a moment before going downstairs.

''Rin.''

''Inuyasha, good morning,'' Rin greeted him.

''Can we talk?'' Inuyasha requested.

Rin nodded. ''Sure. Let's go outside.'' Rin led her brother-in-law out to the garden to sit down at a table.

''I want to offer my condolences for your father's death. I don't know what I would do if I lost my parents,'' Inuyasha sympathised.

''Thanks,'' Rin replied.

''I wanted to attend the funeral, but Kagome said Naraku was going and thinks it would be best for us to avoid confrontation,'' Inuyasha explained.

''Yes, I understand,'' Rin said.

''Rin, I-I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place,'' Inuyasha sighed. ''On the one hand, Sesshomaru's my brother and, on the other, Kagome asked me to help you.''

''Thanks, but I don't want help,'' Rin told him. ''But I do have a question that I've been curious about for a while. How did Sesshomaru find out that Kohaku wasn't really Shiro? Did you tell him that Kohaku wasn't the guy you hired?''

Inuyasha shook his head. ''No, no. I didn't tell Sesshomaru a thing, I swear. By the time I got to the ranch, Sesshomaru knew everything. Believe me, it was an unpleasant surprise for me as well.''

''So then, how did he find out?'' Rin asked.

''It seems they found a body buried nearby the ranch. Shiro Kons','' Inuyasha answered. ''When they identified the body, the police talked to Sesshomaru and he drew his own conclusions.''

''I see,'' Rin simply said.

''Rin, I know I have no right to meddle in your private life, but I honestly think you're not guilty of what Sesshomaru says,'' Inuyasha told her.

''Too bad my husband doesn't think like you,'' Rin shrugged.

''Sesshomaru has suffered a lot. His mother was...a royal bitch but she had custody of him. When Sesshomaru turned eighteen, dad tried his hardest to try and talk Sesshomaru into coming to live with us but..Sesshomaru cared too much about the people and the land he grew up on. So, he stayed as a servant, a ranch hand, a stall boy. The happiest memory Sesshomaru has, is his mother dying,'' Inuyasha told her. ''The only reason Sesshomaru even accepted the money when she died was because he knew he could use it to take care of the people there.''

''Yes, I know, Inuyasha,'' Rin responded.

''My brother grew up wishing to have his own family and, when he married you, he thought he'd finally get it because he was very much in love with you. And I know that, despite what he thinks happened, he still loves you,'' Inuyasha assured her.

Rin chuckled lightly. ''How can you say that, Inuyasha? When you really love someone, you trust them.''

''Yes, but try to understand, Rin. Suddenly, he found out his enemy was inside his own house and that you hadn't told him,'' Inuyasha pointed out.

''I didn't, but only so nothing bad would happen, Inuyasha! You know Sesshomaru better than me, you know he's impulsive and aggressive, he would have killed Kohaku or Kohaku would have killed him!'' Rin cried. ''Look, Inuyasha, when I married Sesshomaru, I didn't love him. When I found out they had separated me from Kohaku with all those lies, I got desperate and I admit I did many foolish things! I was a fool, a huge fool, but I swear on my life, I never betrayed him, ever.''

''Why don't you talk to him? Tell him all of this,'' Inuyasha suggested.

''I already did, I did!'' Rin exclaimed. ''The day Sesshomaru found out the whole truth, I told him, but he kicked me out of the ranch. He called me the worst insults right to my face. And despite all that, Inuyasha, I begged him, I implored him.''

''Do you love him?'' Inuyasha asked her.

''More than my life, Inuyasha,'' Rin admitted.

''He loves you too, Rin,'' Inuyasha told her. ''It's a shame you're apart because of some argument. Why don't you try to talk to him again? Do it for both your sakes and your baby's. I'll try to talk to Sesshomaru, too, to see if I can get him to see reason. But you do it too. You have to talk to him again.''

''What will you do, Rin?'' Sayo asked her after Inuyasha left.

''I don't know, Sayo. I feel like I'm empty on the inside without him. I miss him so much. But..the way he's treated me and my poor dad,'' Rin whimpered. ''I'm sorry, Sayo. I just need to be alone to think.'' Rin left her room and went to her father's office. She caressed his favorite books he always laid out, the miniature sailboat he kept on his desk, and the chair he sat in every day.

''Miss Rin.'' Emerald came in. ''I always put the mail on his desk for Mr. Jihayo to read and now I don't know where to put it.''

''On his desk, like always,'' Rin whimpered. Emerald placed the mail down and Rin sat down to go through it when she noticed a blue envelope with no address on it and she opened it only to quickly crumble it up and throw it away so no one else would see it. She stood up and grabbed a hat and her purse before heading out to the beach.

''I got the message you left in the mail,'' Rin said. ''You shouldn't have done that, Kohaku, anyone could have read it before me.'' Rin and Kohaku's backs were facing each other.

''I'm sorry, but I had to take my chance,'' Kohaku shrugged. ''Last time I waited for you here, you were dressed in white. Now, it hurts a lot seeing you like this.''

''In black? My dad-'' Rin began to cry.

''I'm very sorry, Rin. I'm so sorry. I know how much he-he meant to you,'' Kohaku grimaced.

''Yes. Thank you,'' Rin sniffled.

''This place brings back so many memories,'' Kohaku pointed out.

Rin nodded. ''This pier means a lot to us.''

''Did you ever come back?'' Kohaku asked.

''No, not before today,'' Rin answered. ''I'm very happy to see you dressed like this, it's-I heard Captain Midoriya helped you clear your name.''

''Yes,'' Kohaku confirmed. ''Not only that, he also promoted me. I'm a corvette lieutenant now.''

''Congratulations, Lieutenant,'' Rin smiled.

''Thank you,'' Kohaku smiled. ''Rin, I'm very worried about you.''

''You shouldn't,'' Rin told him.

''Yes, I should because-when Captain Midoriya told me about your dad, he said Sesshomaru wasn't at the funeral. I guess..he knows who I am, right?'' Kohaku guessed.

''Yes, Sesshomaru knows the whole truth,'' Rin admitted. ''He knows you pretended to be Shiro Kon.''

''How did he react?'' Kohaku asked.

Rin scoffed. ''As you can imagine, badly.''

''I guess that's why he didn't go to your dad's funeral, right?'' Kohaku assumed. Rin didn't respond. ''Please, Rin, talk to me, I need to know if you're-''

''What for?'' Rin questioned.

''What do you mean what for? Because I'm interested. Because if you're separated, there's at least a small chance-'' ''Sesshomaru and I haven't separated. We just argued. Very badly. But I explained everything and he understood and everything is okay,'' Rin lied.

''Really?'' Kohaku questioned.

''I have no reason to lie,'' Rin shrugged.

''He didn't doubt you or misinterpret things?'' Kohaku asked. ''It must have been very hard for him to know I was living in his house pretending to be-''

Rin shook her head. ''At first, it was, yes. He was very jealous. It's normal, don't you think? But I explained how things were, I told him I had never been unfaithful to him and he forgave me.''

''Is that so? He forgave you?'' Kohaku questioned doubtfully. ''It seems Sesshomaru loves you more than I thought.''

''As much as I love him,'' Rin said.

''I'm getting married, Rin,'' Kohaku revealed. ''Tomorrow.''

''You are? To whom?'' Rin asked half heartedly.

Kohaku scoffed. ''You know very well to whom. To Julia.''

''Of course, Julia,'' Rin smiled. ''Ever since she first saw you, that girl fell madly in love with you. What about you? What do you feel for her?''

''I care for her very much,'' Kohaku answered.

''Perhaps, in time-'' ''Rin, you know perfectly well, that the only person I love and will ever love is you,'' Kohaku confessed.

''You know, I married Sesshomaru without loving him,'' Rin reminded Kohaku. ''Every day that passed, I loved him more and more. Perhaps, the same will happen to you.''

''No, I don't think so,'' Kohaku denied. ''My feelings are firm. I'd like to talk to Sesshomaru, Rin. Tell him my side of what happened.''

''I'd rather you didn't,'' Rin sighed.

''But I owe him an apology,'' Kohaku pointed out.

''Well, you'll have to wait because- well, Sesshomaru is not here,'' Rin shrugged. ''Sesshomaru went on a trip, that's why he didn't go to my dad's funeral, so, you'll have to wait.''

''Is that so? When is he coming back?'' Kohaku asked her.

''In two weeks,'' Rin lied quickly. ''I think.''

''You think?'' Kohaku sneered.

''Yes, I think,'' Rin repeated. ''I should go. Give Julia a big kiss for me and tell her I really wish for you to be happy.''

''I'll tell her,'' Kohaku stated and finally turned around just to watch Rin leave.

Later that day, Rin finally decided to go to Sesshomaru's but only found Inuyasha there.

''He left?'' Rin questioned.

Inuyasha sighed. ''Sara tried everything until she finally convinced him to avoid you and leave to go back to the ranch. I'm sorry, Rin. I really thought he would stay. He was going to until Sara got in the way.''

''Sara,'' Rin scowled.

''What are you going to do?'' Inuyasha asked her. Rin didn't have an answer for him.

The next day, Rin sat in one of the chairs in her room, just thinking.

''Go see him,'' Sayo told her.

''I can't, Sayo,'' Rin whimpered. ''He doesn't want to see me and I'm tired of humiliating myself. Everytime I see Sesshomaru, I get hurt.''

''Call him,'' Sayo said.

Rin shook her head. ''No.''

''What if you write him a love letter in your own handwriting?'' Sayo suggested. ''Think about it. That way he wouldn't be able to interrupt you. You'd be able to explain everything to him so Mr. Sesshomaru can read it again and again until his doubts are cleared.''

''A letter?'' Rin whispered to herself.

''Yes, Rin. Write it all down,'' Sayo smiled.

Rin bit down on her lower lip. ''Get the car ready, please. I'll take it down to the post office and have them deliver it within the next couple of hours.''

Sayo squealed. ''Oh!''

Rin smiled brightly before running into the house to write down what she wanted to say.

A few hours later, it was already night time and Tohru and Kya had gotten married but Tohru had refused to go on his honeymoon.

''Oh, we've had many misfortunes lately,'' Sakura sighed as she walked arm and arm with her niece. ''It seems to be that God wants to punish us.''

''No, no, aunt,'' Rin denied. ''We're doing things wrong. My mother sold me to Sesshomaru. I didn't know how to solve all the problems I had at the time. And Tohru, with that cruel trick he did to Kya, how do you want us to be good?''

''Do you think that your mom will convince your brother to go on his honeymoon?'' Sakura asked.

Rin scoffed. ''I don't have any doubt about it, she knows how to pull his strings. In some ways, she's also selling him. She's desperate, she's seeing all my husband's money lost.''

''Speaking of him, dear, aren't you planning to fix your situation?'' Sakura questioned.

''I sent Sesshomaru a letter,'' Rin confessed.

''Really? When?'' Sakura asked.

''Hours ago. He hasn't come for me,'' Rin whimpered. ''I have to accept that I've lost Sesshomaru forever. I've got to go on, I've got to do it for this baby, who's my child, and is not to blame for my mistakes.''

Seven months have passed as Rin stands, staring out into the garden.

''You're thinking of Sesshomaru, aren't you?'' Her aunt assumed.

''These are beautiful,'' Rin picked up the sweater her aunt had knitted for her baby.

''Call your husband, dear,'' Sakura suggested. ''If Sesshomaru sees how beautiful you look pregnant, I don't know, maybe he'll relent and decided to give you another chance. He's the father of your son.''

Rin shook her head. ''My son doesn't have a father. And he doesn't need one. He has me, he'll always have me.'' Rin smiled brightly.
