Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Hornet and Phantom. Enjoy the 3000-word chapter. I don't own Bleach, Tite Kubo and a few others do.

Riku turned to look around, blocking the creature that screeched at him. He stabbed through its arm, causing it to shriek as it fell back, feeling nothing but pain and agony. There was nothing on his mind currently.

"They're not as dangerous when it comes down to it," Riku stated to himself more than anyone else. "Keep fighting, the sooner we take these down? The sooner we wrap up this mission." Riku added while he hummed.

However? there was too much on his mind. He needed to know that Sui was safe, she was busy fighting their boss… Something that was not known at all. Whatever that boss was? Riku stated as he shook his head. He knew something that would end up making his job more dangerous when it came down to it.

The hollow rose on its hind legs, screeching at Riku. He glared at the monster, only caring about killing it and getting to Sui. If he knew her? She was probably busy defeating the hollow herself now. He watched the creature raise, smoke streaming from out of its wounds. The creature's animalistic fury allowed it to take swipes which cut him more through the volume of attacks rather than skill.

He could feel pain dance up and down his right arm. The creature had cut into it while attacking him. Riku pushed through the pain, only focusing on defeating it so he could help his captain.

(With Sui Feng)

Sui flipped backwards, the Arrancar slicing up the air around her as she did. All 8 of its hands held a blade to her one, the fight was not close, either. She continued to think about what happened to the rest of her soldiers who were busy fighting. They didn't deserve to be caught up in this destruction… But here they were when she dwelled on it.

"Dance, little mutt, dance!" Sui heard as she scowled at this creature who grit its teeth at her. "I'll bathe in your blood and show it to that damn harpy!" Sui heard before she flipped backwards.

She watched the statue next to her get sliced into ribbons, stone crashing to the cold grey stone below. This Arrancar was fast, and it was strong, all advantages she didn't have in the measure it did. She knew that this creature was far more dangerous than it looked.

"What, nothing to say?" The Arrancar hissed, crossing the swords over its massive stomach. "You can barely stand, there's very few who can match my skill with the sword. Don't feel bad, you're only going to die, it will be for a noble cause." The Arrancar added, their fang-like teeth scraping together as it did so.

Sui panted in exhaustion as she did so. He knew this creature was powerful enough to easily kill her, she could barely reflect their blades at the same time as dodging and striking back at him.

"Hmm," Sui stated as she shook her head. "I swore an oath to fight monsters like you. I intend to keep it… Do you think it will be as easy as killing me?" Sui questioned before the Arrancar descended on her.

(With Riku)

Riku flipped backwards, slashing its arms again. Whoever their boss was? It was FAR too eager to gain a kill upon him, far too bloodthirsty to gain a kill upon him. He knew he could turn that to his advantage given enough. He just needed to find a weakness in its armour. It stomped down, cracking the stone under him and throwing him backwards. Riku rolled to the side as the Hollow surged after him, eager for his blood at the moment.

"Herd them around the room, don't stop fighting!" Riku yelled as he shook his head. The monster rose on its back legs, unable to do anything but slash at him. Riku felt one of the claws graze his cheek, throwing crimson around the room. He dodged out of range of its hulking fangs as well. He could feel blood dripping down its face, its claws drenched in it. The creature

"Just one good hit and you're finished," Riku stated as he lunged forward, he knew this monster had a weak spot. "Aim for their heads!" Riku yelled before he pivoted.

The hollow lashed out, its body being dragged along the cracked and shattered ground. He had one chance to do this as he raised his sword to match it, allowing it to charge. He wanted to as he rushed forward, his sword raised over his head.

The hollow dragged itself through the sword, its claws cutting him slightly but missing their lethal marks. The hollow collapsed behind him, falling in two as it did so, mask crumbling into dust as well. He turned to the killed monster whose soul seeped out of its broken body. Riku could feel pain and blood seep from the pin-sized holes on his limbs.

"I'm going to…" Riku started to say before one of his squads nodded.

"Reinforcements are coming as we speak; he's spread himself thin." One of his squadmates stated as Riku hummed. "Don't worry, sir. We can handle these 2," Riku heard before he nodded.

He sprinted down the hallway, curious as to what Sui could have done by the few minutes it took. Then again? All it took was a few minutes to gain a kill if one got sloppy or overestimated their enemy.

(With Sui)

Sui blocked 4 of the blades, the other 4 cutting into her robes as she did so. The garment hung in tatters as she kicked the soldier backwards, panting as she brushed off the dust from her face. She could feel blood seep down from a cut on her face.

The Arrancar lunged forward, forcing Sui to leap back, her blade ready. Sui leapt up to the higher ground, looking down at the monster below who chuckled, far more amused than anything.

"You're supposed to be one of the tougher captains, but you're dying like anyone who's held a blade." The Arrancar sneered to her. "You've never matched someone faster than you, who is more skilled…" The Arrancar added to which Sui hummed.

"You are too arrogant to be left alive," Sui stated to herself as leapt downwards and slashed at her. "You've supposed to be so powerful, yet you boast of your skill. I don't even know your name. I don't know such a pitiful monster like this cared so much about his skill." Sui added as she hummed to herself.

"Damn cocky mongrel." The Arrancar stated as Sui hummed and nodded. "Do you even know the type of power you're dealing with? I, Lord Argimenus will be sitting on the throne for the Espada. As soon as I cut you down? All of them will bow!" Argimenus stated as he lunged forward.

Sui leapt to the side, avoiding several of the blades which almost cut into her. She flipped over the spider-like monster as she hummed to herself. She knew that there was no way this would be an easy fight, Argimenus was fast, he was strong as well. The more power he held? The more he'd be a danger to the Espada.

"You're scared, aren't you?" She heard as she turned to meet one of his blades. "Good, then I won't have to hold back. They sent their best and now they're falling to me." Argimenus stated to which she slid away.

Argimenus started to advance as she held up her sword. Her captain robes hung in shambles, holes punched in the fabric, several cuts across her face. Sui rushed forward, clashing with Argimenus as sparks flew from their blades.

"Are you expecting me to grovel before you like a worm?" Sui questioned as she turned and looked around the chamber.

She managed to duck under the slashes, cutting the Arrancar across the chest and kicking him backwards. She turned to hear footsteps as the Arrancar growled, cracking the ground under him as he did so.

"Sui!" Sui heard as the captain turned, tossing her captain's robe at the man.

She earned another slash across his back as she turned to see Riku who had engaged another Hollow. A massive wolf-like creature snapped at Riku. The monster had tried to sneak up on her and hit her in the back. She turned to the monster who picked themselves up.

"Couldn't even be bothered to prove your strength, could you?" Sui questioned as she scowled at the Arrancar. "So pathetic, yet you're constantly going on and on about it… Yet you're going to die, just like everyone else." Sui said before she turned towards Riku.

Sui rushed forward before she slashed the Hollow across the back. She flipped into the air and then landed in a crouch, the hollow collapsing to the ground as she turned to see that the creature was busy collapsing to the ground.

"What are you doing here?" Sui questioned before Argimenus turned and dropped to the ground, looking around as she did so. "This Arrancar is beyond you," Sui stated to which she hummed.

He looked at the duo, scowling as he cracked his claws. He rushed forward as he spun his swords at them, ready to kill them when it came down to it.

"The hollows are falling apart without their leadership," Riku stated as he shook his head. "And I know, but I don't plan on fighting him alone," Riku added as he hummed to himself, holding his sword at the ready.

"Ah, the Mutt had a friend," Argimenus stated, rushing forward with his swords raised. "I'll gut you like a fish," Argimenus stated as he turned, rushing forward with his weapons spinning towards him.

Argimenus spun his swords, forcing both reapers apart from each other as they did so. Riku chuckled to himself, knowing just how deadly this creature was. Riku knew this thing had to be quite stupid to not know who Sui was or how dangerous she was as a warrior.

Then again? This one seemed to be quite powerful, that power probably corroded whatever brains he had considering how reckless he was as a warrior. His skill was his speed…. But it was clear he was overextending himself.

"Did this one not know who you are 'Lady Feng?'" Riku questioned, a smirk crossing his face. "I'm quite curious what he knows if he doesn't understand anything like that," Riku stated as he hummed to think about what happened next.

He was greeted by the monster slashing at him, forcing him backwards. He couldn't match the creature in terms of speed, but he could distract him, throwing him to Sui as he did so.

"MURDER THIS TRASH!" Argimenus stated to himself as he growled thrusting his swords forward which Riku greeted as she did so. "There's plenty of time to kill you, bug, I'll make sure nobody misses you," Argimenus added to which Riku chuckled.

"You sure seem to miss us considering you are so maddened," Riku stated to which Sui nodded. "Are you that mad that the captain is of noble blood, or because you don't have any?" Riku questioned as he hummed and looked around.

Riku was forced to flip backwards, his enemy stabbing the swords through the wall as he did so. He knew there was plenty of work to make him worn down enough to be captured. However? Riku was quite curious as to how to defeat him, he did have somewhat of an idea.

"Shut… Up." Riku heard as he turned to parry a slash. "Just shut up… And die." Argimenus growled out.

"Someone has thin skin," Riku stated as he flipped backwards.

He felt something slam into his ribs, being thrown across the room by Argimenus as the creature rushed towards Sui, eager to kill her and then come and kill him. it made him more amused how easily someone had managed to get under her skin.

If that had been accomplished? Then it proved he had a weakness. All they had to do was find and explore it.

"Ow, that smarted," Riku said as he slowly started to climb to his feet. "This man has a weakness. He wouldn't be blowing up when it came down to it." Riku stated before he sighed to himself.

He watched as the towering pillars cracked, falling under the weight of Sui trading blows with the Espada. She knocked him backwards with a kick. She flipped backwards as she looked up at Riku who was quite hopeful she won.

"Damn it, he's just going to cheat as he had before," Riku stated before he slowly pushed himself to his feet. "He's fast, he has several arms. How do I stop him?" Riku questioned as he paused to himself.

He was unsure what the best move to make here was. Sui turned to look around as he did. She flipped around, dodging the next slash as she hummed to herself.

"I will not let a worthless ant like you take my glory from me!" Argimenus roared as he cracked his fingers. "I had worked for months to carry out this attack! They deserve better leadership than that traitor!" Argimenus hissed as he continued to slash away at Riku.

Sui ducked and dodged the fury of blades. She made sure to watch for hollows as she turned to headbutt Argimenus backwards.

'And I thought Aizen was a cocky monster.' Riku thought to himself while he hummed.

Argimenus charged forward while dragging his blades across the floor. He wanted blood, he wanted to cut them both down when it came down to it.

"All you've done is launch one easily thwarted the attack," Sui stated, blocking several slashes as sparks flew. "Your army was torn down by the last attack we launched. You have not the skill, nor the resources to launch this type of attack on the Espada." Sui added before being forced to slide backwards.

Sui hummed as she nodded to Riku who had dropped down to engage him. The spider-like Argimenus roared in rage, slashing at the air with all 8 of his swords, advancing on the duo.

"He's not very smart," Sui stated as she rolled her eyes. "Riku? Deal with his backup as I ordered. I will handle Argimenus." Sui added as she sighed to herself.

She knew that he was wearing himself downed to the ground. If it was so easy? She'd have found it possible when it came down to it. This monster was not as hard to kill as she wanted it to be.

"Do you want me to retreat?" Sui stated while Riku looked at her with interest. "We aren't running away; you're not going to win this. We have plenty of reinforcements." Sui added to point out the flaws in his argument.

"Hmm," Riku stated as he tried to not rush forward. "His speed is just as much of a weakness as it is a strength. If we just find a way to use it against him? We're able to knock him unconscious." Riku added as he paused.

"I cannot believe you'd come here just to remind me how to render someone unconscious," Sui stated before she nodded. "But I see your point. If we can just knock him out with his power? We will be able to defeat him. I don't see a way around his arms, however." Sui added before she took a deep breath.

"What exactly are you trying to do next?" Riku questioned, slowly moving backwards. "Because currently? I do not see a way around him when it comes down to it. if it was so simple? Then we'd be done here already." Riku stated to which Riku nodded.

"Perhaps, but this fight is not so easily won, Riku," Sui stated before turning to Argimenus. "And you are too cowardly to even engage me alone. It is why we broke your defences so easily. Yet you don't want to admit it." Sui added before Argimenus roared, surging forward as he did so.

Both reapers walked backwards before Riku was thrown forward, taking a pair of swords through his hip. Argimenus grinned before blood dripped down their swords. He was quite eager to kill both of these reapers, he threw the man to the side.

"RIKU!" Sui yelled as the reaper was thrown to the side. "You monster!" Sui yelled to which Argimenus grinned as she turned to look around.

"This is plenty fun, ants. My swordsmanship is unmatched." Argimenus stated before she hummed to herself. "There's plenty of work to be done, your right. I must rebuild my empire… But if you think that I cannot simply rebuild the army." Argimenus snorted as he hummed to himself.

Riku grunted, his sword laying across the area. The cracked ground and dust were kicked up by Argimenus attacks was made him realize that he was a bit over his head. However? If he survived? He'd never be willing to jump into a fight like this again.

"You are going to die here, just like the many reapers who I killed yesterday. Ant…" Argimenus stated to himself as he chuckled, advancing on the woman. "You thought that you'd win that easily? Even if I lose here? There will be millions willing to avenge my loss here." Argimenus added as he chuckled to himself.

Sui looked at Riku who was busy clinging to whatever life was left in his body. He wanted her to win.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to thank Mr. Martin for his reviews… And putting up with my garbage grammar. I also want to point out that Riku ISN'T was seen as a mary sue? He was taken out here. The next chapter will show Sui and Argimenus finishing their fight and ending this arc. Until 2-10 Months, Lighting Wolf out!

P.S: Next chapter is 900-6500 words.
