Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Hornet and Phantom. Enjoy the 3400-word chapter. I do not own Bleach, Tite Kubo and a few others do.
He tilted his head to the side before he smiled at her. There was a giant slash of motion as both seemed to clash with a pair of sparks lighting up where they had been a few seconds before they leaped away from each other.
He was honestly curious about what to do next. They had been far too interested in the battle to notice that it had been wasting hours.
"We don't know how this is going to be ending, do we?" Riku questioned himself before he tilted his head. "Your insane, you're a lot more insane than I thought, Sui," Riku stated before he rolled his eyes.
He swung his sword towards her and tilted his blades in her direction. This was a lot more fun; they tilted their heads in their direction. He had been curious when it seemed to be what to do next
He smiled to himself and lunged towards her; his blade raised to do as much damage as possible. She wanted blood, not his, but any she could find that probably sated her. This was either something she had been trying to get out for a LONG time, or it was something new, primal, that had just been torn open. Maybe it had been something new that she hadn't understood… But she liked it to some degree when it came down to it. He was honestly curious at the moment about what to do next.
She was going to be more questioned about what to do next at the moment. It'd be some time before she managed for this second.
Still? There was a playful interest in this. They all had something more riding on this than it had been a few seconds.
She flipped backward, sending a wave of water in his direction. He sliced and deflected it, holding a hand to his face as she sighed and flipped towards him, she grunted as she tossed her blade at him, forcing him back a step as he tried to dodge it and dodge around the attack, it made him roll his eyes knowing she had been this thrown off as of the second. At least, for now.
She tackled him into the deeper water as he pursued him into the deeper waters easily. Their clothes became soaked and bogged them both down as they came closer and closer to another clash.
He dodged a kick that would have shattered his chin had it properly connected and he glanced at her friend. She swung a punch that knocked his blade from his hand as the second.
Still? This hadn't been fun.
He had been a lot odder than it could be… But he doubted it'd be by much. He retreated towards his blade which landed somewhere deep in the chest-high water. He had been curious as to what to do next as of the second. This had been a lot.
Still? He had been amused, very amused by how she had been at the time. she pushed him with anger that hadn't been there a few seconds ago.
Honestly? She was still managing to make him laugh despite the best efforts she had. He blocked a kick and sent her flying backward. There was simply too much to do what to do next. This could only end so badly at the time.
He kicked her leg out from under her, sending her into the water as he did so. She yanked on his robes and sent him flying into the water next to her. It'd be a lot more fun if he hadn't been trying to hold back at the time.
There was only so much he could say or do at the time. this battle had taken a little more at the second. He was honestly surprised she had taken it this seriously when it came down to it. There was so much that could be brought down, so much that could be done.
She swung another kick at him which he blocked and then sent him flying into the bottom of the small pond with another as he caught her first foot.
'Damn her, she's becoming harder to predict than usual. I'm honestly shocked she's so not trying harder. It'd be fun if she didn't slice me into bits at the time.'
There was only so much he could do. This fight wasn't decided, not yet at least. He couldn't even begin to fathom how to conquer her in combat, but he did know that she was going down at the second.
He had been happy, eager to engage her in a real battle. If she was going to fight him, the least she could do is press him, and make him work to win properly. It'd help more with trying to battle her on even grown like this.
He sighed to himself and looked around for the woman, only curious as to how best to stop her. This would be fun either way.
He sighed and flipped backward before he feels curious as to the problem and his solution to it…. Yes, something was going on here she hadn't been the same that she had been a few seconds ago.
She charged into the water, waves splashing water everywhere as she tried to attack him. Her hands seemed to blur the air as she swung a punch at him which he blocked and turned around on her, kicking her feet out from under her and into the ocean. There was a lot more he expected from her… But he guaranteed she wasn't even halfway done with this.
He was right, answered by a swift strike that threw him to the ground. He grinned and looked at her, invested in the fate of this battle even if he had to force her to back down.
He knew it wouldn't be easy, but if it was? He probably wouldn't find it to be as fun as it had been a few hours ago.
This had been all too interesting, investing him more in this battle. He sighed to himself before he rolled his eyes.
"Always with dirty tricks, I'm assuming? I thought you taught us to do more than simply rely on parlor tricks." Riku stated before he sighed to himself. "We both know that there's going to be a long fight ahead of us than this. Heh, I'm starting to enjoy this battle more than anything. It's making me try harder." Riku added before he engaged her anew.
Not a lie. No, she had expected him to battle her more properly, without any tricks. There were still rules to their engagement she held herself to a standard. If she could not adhere to the code? Well, she didn't wish for him to treat her like a proper master should honestly.
Still? He hadn't been one to hold back before and she doubted he'd do so now. If he did? She'd be rather furious, angry that he hadn't been taking it seriously to a degree. She understood his snark even if she didn't accept it, but she wouldn't simply allow the type of disregard for the rules all over the place. She had to set rules somewhere along the way and this was going to be it.
'I swear if he pressed me any further? I might just snap off the deep end, though.' Sui Feng stated mentally as she questioned what to do next.
She had been far too interested in what was to come to bother with justifying her ideas. It had been fun as of the second. He was honestly curious as to what the hell was going on.
Still? She attacked quickly, swinging a fist at him as he turned to look around, sweeping water towards her before attacking once more. She tried to flip backward only to be thrown off by the fact that she was waist-deep in water. He had taken her into the water to simply throw off her speed.
She smirked, clever. He was learning with each second, each little second made her interested in what would be his next move. She had to move well enough to keep him from landing a good blow when it came down to it. She had a lot more on her mind, a lot more to consider. It'd be something new, something far more fun.
He swung a punch which she blocked before he swept her right foot to the side, forcing her off balance. He gripped and tossed her into the water only to follow after her, grabbing her arms before trying to twist behind her and keep her off balance.
It'd be something she'd be impressed with. She smiled to herself as she tried to slam her head into his stomach to throw her off balance.
"You're trying a lot harder than you had been a little while ago, something tells me that you'd been studying," Sui said before she looked around at the entire area. "And here I assumed you had gone soft sitting in a hospital bed," Sui added before she cracked her fingers.
He rolled his eyes, perhaps too interested in what would be coming next if given enough ground. It was something that he was worried about. Yet? He knew her well enough to know at least that she wouldn't back down, it wasn't in her character to battle this way, not at all. No, that was simply wishful thinking.
"If I had? It wouldn't be very amusing. The pain isn't exactly something you just laugh off like this." Riku said while he pointed his weapon at her. "To be fair? I'm not exactly the fastest and I'm fighting the captain of the group who trained almost all of us. We both know that I'd never about you in a real fight when it comes down to it. I'd figure you'd approve of a real strategy like this, even if it's a bit insane at the moment." Riku stated before he rolled his eyes as of the second.
He was honestly curious at the time. She was as talented and skilled as ever and yet he'd still be struggling if not for the cheating. The injuries that he had didn't help either. He felt as if he was fighting a wall.
He was thrown off a second later and sent skidding into the deeper water. He sighed to himself while rolling with the momentum before he rolled his eyes. There was more power in her than he thought.
He caught her kick before he swept her foot out from under her before he hummed and rolled to the side before, he sighed as of the time. he rubbed his eyes and looked at himself as he tilted his head and leaned on the wall.
He was going to be amused when this came down to it. He had been tilting his head as he hummed before he clicked his head before he sighed to himself.
He watched as she slowly started to climb to his feet before he cracked his fingers.
"Are you ok?" Sui stated before she flipped to her feet. "You are something else. I'm starting to wish I let you get turned into a kabob." Sui stated before she brushed off her robes.
She had been interested in what he was going to do next. He had been happy when this battle was done and over with. It had been interesting.
"Are you going to be ok when it came down to it? I'm trying my hardest when it comes down to it." Riku said before he rested a hand on his hip.
This had been a lot more exhausting and painful. It had been a lot more painful than he expected. Then again? He hadn't expected a lot of anything at the time and this hadn't much helped at the time before he clicked his jaws.
Another pain lanced up his side before he hummed, curious as of the time what her move was going to be. Then again? He expected it to be a lot more painful as of the second.
This had been something that made little sense and yet here he was, facing down the captain.
"You're bleeding your fool." Sui Feng said before she hummed to herself. "This fight is over for now. I will not fight you while you're still bleeding from your wounds. That insanity is something I will not condone." Sui stated before she brought a hand to her temples.
Still? There was something that had been interesting. He sighed before he tilted his head and slowly started to climb away from the pool where he had been. It was something odd that had been clawing at him slowly.
"I'll be alright before this day is over," Riku said before he sighed to himself. "Ow. This is killing me more than anything. Those words had cut deeper than they had been around. I feel like they had turned me inside out." Riku said before he sighed.
He glanced at her. It had been something that made him curious. It was a lot more interesting at the time. A lot more interesting that made him sigh before he tilted his head as he glanced around.
He hummed, tapping at his arms before the pain in his side seemed to be in more pain before he hummed to himself. this had been painful and annoying in equal measure. Still? There was more on the line than this, more on the line than some simple rage. It had been a chore for him not to push it… But it seemed he had to keep going if anything was going to change.
Still? There was more to be done and this wasn't exactly helping as of the second. He hummed to himself before he managed to kick her down and into the water. He was curious as to what the hell was to come next before all was said and done. He couldn't at all question when all of the dust settled before this came down to it. There was so much to be said between them, but that would be a chore at the time.
She reached her arms out, dragging him in after her. It became less of a life-or-death battle between friends and more of the two impishly punching and kicking one another. It made him laugh before her foot found his face and tossed him into the water.
Still? If it was so damn easy when it came down to it? well, he'd probably be getting kicked into the moon, but he had to take what he could get when it came to battles at the time. He flipped her into the water before he sighed and seemed to question what was coming next.
He panted in exhaustion while he stared at her as she slowly seemed to find her feet. It had been something that he dreaded for at least a little bit.
He cracked his fingers and leaned on his blade before staring at her. There was amusement in his motions before he was forced to dodge a single shattering bolt as she tried to throw a stone that he caught.
She closed the distance in the time before he was forced to throw himself to the side before, he hummed to himself as he sighed. There was simply no pleasure in this for the time being. That didn't make it less interesting, but it did mean they had been pressed to the wall a lot more.
She seemed to be more amused by this than anything else. It'd be a lot more interesting if he wasn't at all pushed into the wall by this. Still? If it was anything like what she wished? It had been enough.
He had been pushed still. He wasn't going to lie about how little of a chance he had in actually defending what to do next.
He had been a lot more curious as of the time. if she had been this powerful? Is this able to back him into a corner? Well, he had been a lot more surprised as of the game that she had been playing. He had been a lot more curious about what her next move was. it had been a lot more relaxing than he considered it to have been at the time. a lot more focused on what she'd do next now
He sighed and seemed to slowly drag himself to the floor and towards her. It had been painful; it had been a lot worse than he believed.
Still? There was a lot more he could do to stand up to her even if he was silently shrieking in pain and suffering. It'd be a lot harder if not for the fact that they'd already been driven to the edge by this.
Not her fault, to be honest, he couldn't at all begin to see how one could handle leading an entire army onto the frontlines of combat when it came down to it. there was so much to do when it came down to it. She had more on her damn mind than anyone in the division at the end of the day. it'd be a lot harder as of the second when it came to it.
There was a silence between them as both of them seemed to question what was something for the time being. it'd be a lot nicer if not for the fact that both wished to kill one another and they were locked in mortal combat for the time being.
Then again? If it was entirely up to him? He'd not be having this problem. It'd have solved itself for the time being even if he had to rip it all down. Nothing else could handle her beside her master or one of the captains when it came to their battles.
Plus? He honestly felt as if Sui was having problems if she WASN'T trying to kill him. It was part of her when it came down to it. there was a lot more he hadn't yet dealt with either way and it wasn't as if he hadn't yet when it came down to it. he'd been in worse situations when it came down to it.
There was so much more to this than he expected. There was a lot more to handle this day and all too much time to handle it as of the time being.
"Are you going to try and kill me or just try and bore me to death with your annoyance on trying to properly fight me… Because I can and will assure you that I do not intend to lose that either way. I will put you down if I have to, Riku. I just hope you're aware of this before you do something stupid you cannot afford to handle when it came down to it. You do have a bad habit of pushing it faster than you think you can." Sui stated before he hummed as of the second.
This was going to be a lot more interesting when it came to this. He dodged a slash that could have cut him in half before this was a lot worse before this was all of the time. there was a lot more to say and do before this was all said and done. All of the moves he had made had done nothing more than buy him some time… The time he seemed to have lived on little. He had to be smarter and better than this. He had to find a way around her defenses before she cut him to ribbons. He couldn't question what to do next.
It'd be a lot nicer as of the time being.
