Danny's P.O.V.:
How could my cousin be so blind Marinette really likes him and what was his floating, talking black cat sighing at me for. Sam and I do fake out make outs all the time. We are just friends good friends. I looked to my friends and pointed to my cousin and mouthed that he knew. Yes, my friends knew my secret, they were there when I got my powers, so they knew first, my sister eventually figured it out but didn't tell me until I told her, and my parents never found out. My cousin can't really tell ladybug who I am with out explaining how he found out which would give his identity away two. My ghost sense went off during class, so I asked to use the bathroom and looked at Adrien to stay put. Since Chat noir and Danny Phantom shouldn't be seen together often with out ladybug or people might get suspicious. The good news is my cousin listened bad news his floating cat friend who introduced himself? Itself? As Plagg didn't.
"Danny, do you have any cheese?" Plagg asked causing me to be knocked into some lockers. I'm more durable as my ghost self but that still hurts. I looked at the floating cat as if to ask if he or it really thought now was a good time. I was lucky that Plagg was a small and fast target since the ghost couldn't seem to hit him or it as easily as hitting me. This fight must have been longer than I thought since the teacher actually sent someone to check on me luckily it was Tucker so I didn't have to explain the ghost and he couldn't see Plagg, so I didn't have to explain that either.
By the time the fight was done I was beat up, but I still won plus I will be fine by tomorrow. "Dude any reason why your cousin is frantically searching his jacket and bag?" Tucker asked me and I just shrugged. I knew my cousin was looking for Plagg and made my back to class with my story ready. Saying that there was a ghost, and I was pushed into some lockers just when Danny Phantom showed up. Chloe and Lila ate it up so did most of the class. I went to the bakery after school that day Marinette's parents were nice when I told them that I was here to do homework with Marinette. Her mom noticed that I was injured and looked me over while I ate a cookie.
"I was thrown into lockers it used to happen to me a lot at home didn't really feel it." I told Mrs. Dupain-Chang when she asked me what happened to me. But Marinette had to add the fact a ghost did it. Her mom looked surprised before mentioning that there was a new hero seen with Ladybug recently who was around when these ghosts were. Marinette's dad mentioned how the hero was seen when the first ghost showed up last week around the same time Marinette baked all those sweets for three new kids who were coming into the city.
"Let me guess one of the kids was the nephew of Gabriel Agreste?" I asked and they all nodded looking surprised I knew since I dressed more laid back then my cousin. "Nice to meet you I'm Daniel Fenton but everyone calls me Danny I'm from America. I'm the nephew of Gabriel Agreste." I added and extended my hand out to Marinette's parents and her dad pulled me into a hug followed by her mom. It felt nice until they pulled away. My relationship with my parents was complicated after I got my powers. I watched a Marinette stuffed a cookie in her bag I didn't say anything about it.
Marinette and I eventually made our way to her room to start our homework. I did notice that she had a lot of pictures of my cousin on her walls, but I didn't say anything. It was march so the school year was almost over, I think. In America we got out in May and went back in August. When I voiced this to Marinette, she just gave me a smile. "Danny we only get July and August off we finish at the end of June. Didn't Adrien tell you that?" she asked, and I shook my head. She then mentioned something about a school talent show in a few months. We just finished her homework when her phone went off with a notification of another attack. She was worried about me going home alone and offered to call Luka.
"I'll be fine Marinette don't worry." I told her as I walked out the door with a bag of sweets her parents gave me. I walked into an alley, changed into my ghost form, and flew back to my uncle's house I passed Adrien on the way and pointed to the goodies, and he looked super excited. I stashed the sweets and I changed back I was still sore from earlier but doing better. I was relaxing and texting my friends when ladybug showed up in the room. She tried to give me a bracelet saying that it would give me the power of protection and I sighed. I took the bracelet and told her to wait outside for me. After she went outside, I activated the bracelet and met her the little turtle guy named Wayzz wasn't sure what would happen since I'm not the one ladybug normally goes to when he's needed. Normally she would go to Nino, but he was on a date night, and she knew where I was. I looked in the mirror and sighed this my have kicked in the ghost powers as well since my outfit was based off of a white turtle (yes, they exist.) and my eyes were blue with hints of green strangely, I could also see bits of my hair which appeared grey right now. I met ladybug outside, and we went to meet my cousin. "I couldn't find Nino, so this is Razor back." She introduced me to my cousin, and I looked at him as if to tell him to zip it.
I found out I could still access my ghost powers like this well I could in my human form I just don't use them, so my jumps were glides. "First time in the hero game razor back? Because you could have had me fooled into thinking that you were a pro." My cousin had to open his mouth and then ask where Danny Phantom was. I glared at him when ladybug wasn't looking at us, my eyes glowing full on green before we continued on our way. After helping ladybug, I gave the thing back and she pointed out that it was strange that Danny Phantom missed out on the action.
"Um... about that ladybug we need to talk. I know how to get a hold of Danny Phantom, but I can't get a hold of him and help you out at the same time." I told her and she nodded. I watched as she left only for my cousin to come back a few minutes later. I punched him asking him why he would bring up Danny phantom even though he knew I wasn't able to change in front of her.
"What did you tell her?" my cousin asked after handing Plagg some cheese and getting us some water.
"I told her that I know how to get a hold of Danny Phantom so she has to come to me if she needs him, but I can't help like I did today." I shrugged it gets us out of this mess. We ate the sweets I was sent home with before we went to bed. I don't mind sharing a room with my cousin, but I don't understand why I am since the house is big enough for me to have my own room.
I couldn't sleep so I went to explore in ghost form I wondered the house and found a butterfly observatory. I just thought my uncle liked butterflies I wouldn't have connected him to the villain that everyone was talking about. Once again, my ghost sense went off while I was in the kitchen it was just the box ghost, so it was over quicky. I then made my way to bed for real since it was early in the morning. I had breakfast with Adrien before we left fore school.
"How are you all healed up you took a beating yesterday?" he asked me getting me to shrug.
"I heal fast have since the accident that gave me my powers. But I still wouldn't suggest using yours on me I don't know what would happen." I told him and started telling him about all the ghost I fought in the states. The two that caught his attention were Ember and Freakshow since those were the only two that seem to have messed with my mind. Well, they did I told him Sam's plans on how to deal with them if they could come back.
"Couldn't I just destroy the guitar and hypnotic staff with my power?" he asked me, and I told him that I didn't know if it would work. I doubt even chat noir would be immune to ember's guitar. We walked into the school, and I was greeted by Lila who I could tell was being really dishonest with me. She said Sam beat her up and to be honest I wouldn't put it past my friend, but she wouldn't do it with out reason. But Lila looked okay, so I just walked away from her. This bothered her a lot as I walked over to my friends. Tucker and Sam were fighting again over something. Did he try to get her to eat meat again?
"I can't believe you signed me up for the school talent show Tucker! Without telling me but you told Luka and Juleka so now I can't get out of it!" Sam yelled at Tucker as I walked over. Lila followed me over and I groaned. Since she told my friends that I can't hang out with them anymore since we are now dating. I didn't even ask her out yet here was Lila telling my friends I did and saying I'm taking her to a movie tonight. Please could ladybug need my help tonight or there be a ghost attack so I could get out of this. Sam and Tucker were now both mad at me claiming that I was heartless for dating so soon after the deaths of my parents and sister, but I didn't ask Lila out.
I told Lila I would meet her in class before I walked over to my cousin and his friends who saw the whole thing happen and the only one who didn't seem mad at me was Marinette. I was relieved that one of Adrien's friends knew that what Lila said was a lie maybe I could confide in her and she me. And I'm talking about Marinette not Lila. During the school day I was forced to sit next to Lila. At lunch I went to the bakery "Danny what brings you here Marinette isn't home for lunch today." Mr. Dupain-Chang told me, and I pulled out my wallet and told him that I was actually here to get something to eat that I didn't really want to eat at school today. He led me up to their kitchen and made me a sandwich using a croissant I insisted on paying for it. By the time he went back downstairs, and I ate I was running late to get back to school. I quickly cleaned my plate and thanked Marinette's dad on my way back to school.
Didn't take Lila long to come find me again. "I missed you at lunch Danny where were you?" She asked me.
"Just exploring I haven't been here long." I replied with a shrug sounding bored when she clung to me. I was dragged to the movies later that day and I got rid of Lila as soon as I could. Then I headed to Marinette's place in my ghost form. When I got there, I saw Adrien well Chat Noir there talking about me. I made myself invisible and listened to what he had to say. He called me heartless, and it hurt so I decided to just find somewhere to be alone.
I sat on the roof of a building somewhere I don't know where. But I could see the Eiffel tower all lit up in the distance. I transformed back to my regular self with no real plans on going home any time soon. I didn't bother telling anyone where I was, I just watched the sky until ladybug found me. She came over and sat next to me. "I'm not going to ask how you got up here, but our mutual friend Marinette wanted me to make sure you were okay." She told me but the best thing I could do was give a half shrug.
"I feel lost Ladybug. My cousin, his friends, and my own want nothing to do with me. They avoided me and said mean things about me since some girl I met like a week ago told everyone we're a thing. The thing is I never asked her out. I never wanted to but now I'm being called heartless by everyone in class. Since it looks like I'm not taking time to respect my fallen family with my friends since they lost theirs two. Don't get me wrong Adrien is a cool guy when I spent time with him. I was actually excited to meet him but now maybe I should go live back in the states with an old friend of my parents. I know it seems selfish… but right now I don't feel like I belong. I was on my way to Marinette's house to talk to her, but Chat Noir was there already complaining about me. He used my name loud enough to hear him from the street. He even thinks I'm heartless." I explained looking away from her. I knew I couldn't let my emotions get to me or my powers would act up or I would get akumatized and then my powers would still show up.
Ladybug sighed while pinching her nose. "The girl's name wouldn't happen to be Lila, would it? She is a liar and lies often. Has bullied Marinette before. Even claimed to be a hero once. For purely selfish reasons mind you. Marinette also told me that Chat doesn't trust Danny Phantom anymore something about knowing his identity." She told me and I wasn't surprised that my cousin wouldn't trust me in my ghost form if he's mad at me.
"Yes, the girl is named Lila and yes Chat does know Danny Phantom's identity. That was another thing I was going to talk to Marinette about actually. There are a few people who know the identity of Danny Phantom one of them being chat, his friends know, his sister knew, I know and there's one person state side who knows…." I started but there was a bang so she said if I could get Danny Phantom to help it would be appreciated before going off in the direction of the bang.
I transformed and followed her only to get hate glares from my cousin. You know what I'm not in the mood to deal with him, so I flew ahead and willingly got hurt. Yes, I got hurt intentionally it actually felt good. Chat looked like he couldn't care what happened to me, but ladybug did. I was bleeding so once the fight was over, she told me to go to Marinette's place. My cousin still didn't look too worried about me I don't care. I should have quit the hero game as soon as I move here just like how Sam and Tucker quit helping me. I do miss their company while I'm out at night, but I don't blame them for wanting to leave the ghost hunting thing behind them.
When I got to Marinette's she was already inside, so I tapped on the skylight. I went in when I was invited before changing back. I couldn't control it this time I just wanted to sleep. She led me to her sofa and started bandaging me up. "So, your Danny Phantom?" Marinette questioned when she just saw me go from Phantom to Fenton, I don't know why she phrased it like a question but I'm not going to complain. I just nodded. Then she asked if I heard her and Chat talking.
"I heard him call me heartless. I left after that Ladybug told me later that he says that she shouldn't trust me. Because he knows my identity. He's letting lies cloud his judgment. I'm sorry Marinette I don't mean to bother you with this, but I don't really have anyone else to go to right now. I don't want you to get hurt if you get involved in this." I told her honestly hanging my head in shame.
"These are worse than the fight you got in the school. ladybug told me it looked like you were deliberately getting hurt was this true?" She asked me and I sighed before telling her it was that I felt numb, so I just had to feel something even if it was pain. She looked at me as if to say that I haven't lost everyone, yet I still have her. She finished with the bandages and said goodnight to me before turning the light off.
In the morning Marinette told her parents that I got not a fight with Adrien, went on a walk and was beaten up while on my walk so ladybug dropped me off after we talked, she chose here was a good choice. Marinette told me not to worry about school that day. Her parents made sure I was okay when they had time but for the most part left me alone with my thoughts. I thought about joining the school talent show but then changed my mind, I thought about going to support my classmates then changed my mind about that as well knowing that they probably wouldn't want me there. I could go as my ghost self, but Adrien, Sam, and Tucker would probably tell me to leave. Marinette would want me there. I could go if Marinette did something and say I'm there to support her. I helped Marinette's parents when I got tired of being alone with my thoughts.
Tom or Mr. Dupain- Chang was happy when I came down to see if I could help. He started teaching me how to bake and I really enjoyed it. I knew I would have to face my cousin eventually though and I wasn't looking forward to it.
