I sat there just staring at Bonnie, he was constantly smiling, part of me forgot that this was a robot made for children's enjoyment. Currently it felt more like a monster than anything else. I was so fixated on him I forgot about the others, until I heard mechanical footsteps down the hall in front of me. I frantically put down my monitor then flashed my flashlight down the hall to see Chica just standing there as well. Even though I was in a high stress situation my eyes fell upon her new... features. I guess they thought the old one didn't look feminine enough but damn, Chica's got some racks.
It took me a second to realize I was staring a bit to long and I, once again, forgot about the other ones. I open the monitor to see Bonnie has moved to a new Party Room, and was 5 inches away from the camera so his faced covered the entire screen. I got a chill down my spine, they know I'm watching. I flashed the flashlight down the hall again, Chica was still there. I decided to check the other rooms to see if the others were in their place. Freddy was good, I flipped over to Kid's Cove to see the new Foxy all mangled for reasons I don't know. He, well I guess for this one she, also had a new design. Their previously brown fur was now white and they had red lipstick on as well as the rosy cheeks everyone else seem to have including the next one I decided to check, Balloon Boy. He was still standing there with balloons in his hand and a creepy smile, he had a propeller hat, a striped shirt, and of course rosy red checks.
While I was going through the cameras I'd completely forgot about the music box and it was beginning to run out. Frantically I started to wind it back up until I heard the sound of something, or someone, crawling through the vents. I turn on the vent light to see Bonnie crawling his way to me. Petrified I stood there until I remembered the tape guy's advice. "The Freddy mask!" I say out loud to myself while quickly putting it on. When I turned around, I froze, Bonnie was now standing inches from my face while he appeared to be scanning me. I sat there not even breathing, eyes wide, and my blood cold. Time seemed to have froze still, I didn't even realize Chica was also standing next to me just staring. Even in a situation like this I still found myself looking at her chest, I silently thought to myself 'is this really the best time to be checking out a robot that's about to kill me' just then a bell rang and the animatronics began to walk back down the hall. With the mask still on I looked at the clock, 6am. I repressed the urge to jump and scream in relief at least until I see that the robots were back in their place. "AHHHHH! THANK YOU GODS" I exclaim absolutely thrilled it's over. I stagger to get up and walk, my adrenaline sky high. I stumble down the hall and hear the front door unlock, I saw Zant walk in with a bag of McDonald's.
"Hey kid! I got some food for you, I thought you'd be hungry after... whoa." he froze looking at my face "You alright little dude?" he asked "yeah just... a long night" I reply. I tried my best to put a smile on my face and a look of concern appeared on his. "So the rumors are true huh? the animatronics walk around trying to kill you." I had no words I just nodded. "Come on kid let's eat and you can tell me all about it." he said leading me to a table.
I told him the entire scary story and his face went pale like mine. he breathes a heavy sigh "That's some scary shit kid, I don't blame you if you'd want to quit. I'd leave this place and never look back" I looked over to the animatronics and began to think. "I think I'm going to stay." I said. Zant looked at me with wide eyes "Are you serious? Did the robots hypnotize you or hit you on the head? staying is basically suicide!" I look down at the table then over to the animatronics again "I feel like I can do something to stop this. there has to be a way to connect with them." if there were children spirits in there then they're most likely afraid and confused and lashing out, but at the end of the day they're still kids, there has to be a way to reach the human side of them. Zant looked at me with concern "Kid those children are probably too lost to be found. I won't stop you but-" suddenly the door swung open and Zant and I looked to see who it was. It was Zelda. "Oh thank god!" she says running towards me and jumping into my arms. I could feel my cheeks heat up, looking at Zant he had a sly smirk on his face like he knew exactly what was going on.
"I was so worried something might've happened to you! That those monsters would've gotten to you on the first night!" Zelda began to slightly break down right in front of me. I guess she was more worried about me then I realized.
"Hey it's alright I'm here aren't I? there's no need to worry" I said. I awkwardly return her hug and saw that Zant was still smirking. I awkwardly hug her back for a little bit, but to me felt like forever, then pull away to not seem weird.
"So you're going to quit right?" That was the question I was dreading to be asked, let alone answer.
"I'm not sure..." I give an uncertain response. She gave me a worried look followed by a look of slight anger.
"What do you mean "you're not sure?" you've seen what happens and yet you're gonna keep going?" she said with slight frustration in her voice. I was hoping I didn't have to discuss this right away with someone like her. Even I don't know if I should keep going or not, If the stories are true then there's has to be a way to get through to them. Not to mention what am I gonna say to management or Mido about working for one night then quitting. It would be a bad look for my work ethic... what am I thinking!? Work ethic, I could've died.
I take a deep breathe then look at Zelda "Give me some time to think this over, I do still need the money. Plus I survived the first night, how hard could it get after that?" I said that to try and calm her worries although it didn't seem to work. She just stared at me with tears welling up in her eyes. She then hugged me once again but this time saying "please for the love of Hylia, DO NOT come back." and with that she left to start her shift. I turn to Zant for a little reassurance, he stood up and walked up to me. "Dude, I'd be the first to tell you not to listen to a women but, she's right. Coming back would be like signing your own death certificate, but the choice is yours. It's just I sometimes do maintenance on the animatronics. I don't know what I'd do if I found you in one of those...things." he pats me on the back and heads off for his shift leaving me alone. I clock out, then head off to prepare myself for the next night, only Hylia knows what'll happen next.
When I got home around 7:30 in the morning, Mido had already left, probably to find a job of his own. I lie down on the couch thinking of what I should do. "well if I'm gonna try to save those kids from whatever happened to them I'm gonna need to research about this so called "Incident" that happened" I thought to myself. "I should head to the library for right now, maybe they have some old newspapers or something about what exactly happened" with a goal in mind I head out for the local library.
I'm not much of a reader but I can put that aside since kids' life were on the line, or at the very least mine was. Hyrule's public library was decently massive, not too big but not too small. I entered and was greeting by the librarian "H-hello! wel-welcome, is there a-anything I can help you w-with?" she nervously said, she was tall looked to be around my age but maybe a lil older. The nameplate only had the name Paya written on it She had long silver hair, brown eyes, and a necklace with the famous Sheikah symbol on it. The Sheikah were sort of a personal guard for the Royal Family back when Hyrule was a Monarchy. However since we changed our Government ages ago, and especially when one of the kings went on a "breeding spree", they became a sort of symbol for people struggling in the shadows and for not being given respect where respect is needed. It sort of lost its touch once it became most popular with angsty teenagers a couple decades back. Now its more of a statement for "My heart is black as the shadows!" you know emo shit.
"Hi! I was wondering if you could help me find some old Newspapers, specifically ones around Freddy Fazbear's?" I asked casually.
"Um... I don't know i-if I can find th-that specifically, b-but all the old newspapers are labeled a-and dated downstairs near the b-back" she says with a weak smile. I'm getting the feeling she's either not used to people her age or people at all.
I give her my thanks then proceed downstairs where I see a person with familiar Orange highlights.
