Massive AN, Sorry folks but it's got important information.

Hello folks this is my foray into the Harry Potter world, obviously it is a crossover but I would also like to remind everyone this is a complete AU for both the Naruto and Harry Potter worlds. Now that is to say everything is different though vaguely familiar. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy, there is a small section here denoting the list of the largest changes you will need to be aware of as you read along with an expanded summary for the fic. Like I said, I hope you enjoy.

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE ALERT: -READ THIS- This is a heavy AU for both crossover worlds. Following this is a list of what I consider the largest changes to make the reader aware of as I feel they would be the most controversial.

Lily Evans Marries Severus Snape, the central member of the Golden Trio or in this instance Girl-Who-Lived is now Haley Eileen Snape and she has grown up raised by her mother and father and aware of the magical world all her life.

James Potter lives and has married another woman apart from Lily and had two children of his own. You'll learn more of them in the story I assure you.

Chakra doesn't exist, however, the witches and wizards of the Elemental Isles are far more battle focused with their magic and also utilize far more wandless magic, again more on this will be explained in the story, Just be aware that Naruto's people still utilize wans they just also have a broader idea of magical tools and utilization of magic in general.

There are no tailed beasts, however that does not mean there was no Juubi, however things are different not only in the Harry Potter world but also Naruto's world. More will be revealed as the story goes on.

No tailed beast means no Kyuubi attack, however there are other reasons behind Naruto's orphan status and the death of the Uchiha clan. Naruto over all had a much happier childhood though being as he wasn't a jinchuuriki. Though other issues will assuredly rise for him.

To be clear this fic is a massive Alternate Universe for both Naruto and Harry Potter….I mean there isn't even a character named harry potter and Naruto's people use wands.

EXPANDED SUMMARY: With the rise of multiple threats close to home Naruto is set to join Jiriaya in a walk-about of the Elemental Nations until he too is required somewhere that his young charge cannot follow. Rather than risk Naruto, and Konoha's safety and to ensure he receives training of some sort while separated, Jiraiya meets with old acquaintances in the outer world beyond the veil that has long separated the land of the Elemental Nations from those of the Mundane world. With a new world in front of him and plenty of new things to experience and enjoy Naruto will be among the first to reintegrate the Elemental Nations into the Wizarding World.

The twelve year old blond couldn't help but pick at the bandages wrapped tightly around his chest as he lay in the hospital bed. It wasn't often he found himself having been laid up in the infirmary for so long. Then again, never had he suffered such grievous injuries before either. It helped to drive home the fact of his recently ended friendship and the attempt on his life by his former teammate.

It wasn't as shocking as some might have expected. While Naruto and Sasuke had been close there had always been a plethora of issues between the two not the least of which was the fact that the Uchiha and Uzumaki Houses had despised one another. Sure they had supposedly worked there, and the Senju's issues out around a century or so in the past but grudges, especially those among the pureblood lines of the Elder clans were hard to move past. At least the Senju had somehow made peace with both and brought them out of killing one another on sight.

Well, not that there were really any left to be waging bloody feuds in the street. Naruto and Sasuke were among the last of their bloodlines. Ever since Sasuke's family had been murdered by his terrorist of an elder brother and Naruto's mom had passed from the Chimera Flu. In the end though their similarities all but ensured the two would connect with each other in a way few others could.

Again, it didn't stop the arrogant prick from trying to kill Naruto during his defection. They understood each other, but unlike what some believed, understanding someone didn't necessarily mean you could tolerate them.

"Mom always said the Uchiha were a bunch of pink-eyed bastards." Naruto groaned as he tried to relax into the hospital bed.

His relaxation was short lived as the door swung open and two people practically stormed in. Anyone else in the city would have knocked before coming in but of course Naruto knew his godparents weren't known for being polite. It came with being two of the most acclaimed wizards of the whole of the elemental nations he supposed. Living Legends. Too bad he saw the far too human aspect of both of their personalities on too regular of a basis to buy into those legends.

"Good you're awake. How are you feeling?" Tsunade asked as she whipped out her wand and began slowly waving it back and forth over his chest.

"I'm okay, kinda itchy, but I only ache once in a while now." He replied as he eyed her Aspen wood wand. He couldn't help the sudden naked feeling of recalling that he was currently without his own wand which had been taken back to the family estate after their failed mission.

"Hmm, well, like usual you are just like your mother and healing far quicker than normal. Potions are all doing their jobs as well. You won't be stuck in here for more than another day at this rate, but that doesn't mean I want you running wild and throwing spells around like it's nothing. You're still pretty messed up." Tsunade lectured on as she slid her wand back into her robes.

"Will that interfere with us travelling?" Jiraiya asked. Naruto turned his attention over to the man. Noticing for the first time that his face was screwed up into an angry frown.

"Travelling?" Naruto asked before turning his head to look up at Tsunade.

The blonde woman's honey eyes softened and her face pulled taut as if in mild pain. Whatever she had to say Naruto could already tell she wasn't happy about. He could also tell, though, that whatever she had on her mind it was in his best interest. It always was ever since she took him in when his mother passed.

"We-" Tsunade began only to get a scoff from Jiraiya causing her to shoot him a fiery glare. "Have decided that you need to expand your education somewhat from just the combat magics we've had you taught in the past."

Naruto blinked at that. "What do you mean? What does that have to do with travelling?"

"That's the second half of the problem. You know about the Akatsuki already. They have it out for all the descendants of the Sages and their students. None of the Elder clan members are safe. Normally that would mean we would keep you off missions for a while and up your training here at home, but with plenty of people still being loyal to that Uchiha brat or to you we've already had two riots and a full five duels in the streets since that little shit defected." Jiraiya explained.

Naruto was quiet for a bit. Once more reading the expressions and body language of the two adults beside him. They were the closest he had to family by this point. Well Tsunade really was family, distant cousins or something and Jiraiya was his godfather. Still he could tell there was more they weren't telling him.

After a few beats of silence Tsunade settled onto the bed beside the boy. At times Naruto felt like he was her nephew and at others like her own child. She'd watched over him for over half a decade and as much as she disliked the idea of sending him so far off to attend a school she knew they would take his education more seriously than Jiraiya.

"It is my choice to send you away, Naruto. It's for the best. We can give everyone here some time to calm down and you can receive a bit of an education about magic from other parts of the world. It's a win win." She explained.

"I thought everyone outside the elemental nations were all weaker though? Like don't they all just hide from the non-magical parts of the world? All their magic is just based on hiding." Naruto was moving past his confusion and sliding right into indignation now.

"That's just bias. We've been separate from the rest of the Wizarding world for so long our systems of magic have developed very differently but don't think of them as weak because their spells are much less flashy. There is a danger with magic that appears harmless. Their unforgivables are a perfect example. Single spells developed to do things that we made incantations for. Most of our battle spells are centered around the elements or blasts of magic, but they have a spell that is designed to cause pain directly to the nerves and another to immediately stop the heart and remove the soul from the body." Jiraiya lectured.

With a glance at the man, Naruto knew immediately that Jiraiya used those spells himself. There was a sense of distaste coming from him, as if the idea of spells that removed the chance of an opponent to fight back were wrong. Naruto, Tsunade, and most of the other wizards and witches of the elemental nations would likely disagree with that sentiment. It didn't matter at the moment though. Right now the focus was on the fact that Naruto was being sent away for his own safety and the stability of the village.

"I don't have a choice, do I?" Naruto asked somberly.

Both adults sighed as they looked at the boy. Thirteen and closing on fourteen. It wasn't fair to have to uproot him and send him across the globe for other people's actions but in the end life wasn't known to be fair.

"I'm sorry Naruto. But like I've been saying it's for the best." Tsunade said softly as she gently brushed his hair with her hands in a motherly fashion.

"Plus until then I plan on teaching you a few spells personally. You're still my apprentice after all." Jiraiya added in as he stepped closer to the bed with a grin causing the boy to grin back up at him.

"When Tsunade-hime releases you you'll still have around a week before we head out. The barrier around the Elemental Nations only has a couple gates so we'll be travelling for some time and you'll need to be in top shape for it. Then...well you'll see." Jiraiya further explained as Tsuande stood up.

Naruto nodded then looked over to adoptive aunt expectantly. She snorted at his questioning look.

"Don't even ask. You are staying at least through the weekend brat. That Uchiha hit you with lightining blade spell your teacher made. The fact you are even alive is enough of a miracle. Don't push it by trying to slip out of my hospital before you are actually healed up." Tsunade's tone slid from humorous to concerned and finally to her usual sharp commanding tone by the end.

"Wouldn't dream of it." Naruto replied giving a playful salute and cringing only slightly from the spike of pain in his shoulder.

"Uh-huh. Sure. If I find you outside of this room before I release you Naruto I will punish you for the rest of your time before leaving with Jiraiya." She flatly commented with narrowed eyes causing Naruto to cross his arms and huff.

The blonde leader and her old teammate filed out of the room with matching smirks at the boy's antics. As they left however they let the door stay open causing Naruto to sigh in annoyance. Just as he was about to get up out of bed to close it himself two figures rushed into the room.

Naruto had expected they'd be in, but waiting outside till the moment he was cleared for visitors shocked him. It warmed his heart as he realized how much they cared for him. The two girls that had become so important in his life over the last couple of years.

Hinata Hyuga, his betrothed. It was an arranged marriage between two elder clans, but Naruto would be lying if he said he couldn't stand to marry Hinata. She was the epitome of a noble lady. Reared from practically birth to marry and manage a household for a husband of equal standing. That didn't matter all that much to Naruto of course. She was one of his first friends. Betrothed since they were toddlers, they had spent years playing together and grown close.

Still, Naruto couldn't say he loved her romantically. His love for her was more that of the closest friends. It didn't change all that much in the end.

The second girl was a bit newer of a relationship but equally if not more close than the first. Sakura Haruno had been placed onto the same team with himself and Sasuke under Master Hatake. She'd been friendly with Naruto in the past. One didn't come from a lesser family and not try to kiss up to the elder clans. It was a part of life for every lower caste witch or wizard trying to advance in life. Still Sakura had never been one to grovel for either Naruto or Sasuke. She'd also held her own in plenty of different tests and missions the team had found themselves in showing her skill and talent as a mediwitch whenever Naruto had managed to get carried away.

Both girls were practically his closest friends, and one would eventually become his wife. At least one of them if his Godfather had his way. Naruto felt terrible for worrying the way he had. Red puffy eyes and raw noses from crying and sniffling for hours on end showed him just how badly they had taken his close calls.

"I'm so glad you made it." Sakura said as she and Hinata gently wrapped him in hugs. It caused a dull wave of pain to roll through the boy but he simply pushed the thought of his injuries to the side as he wrapped his arms around his friends.

"I'm sorry." Naruto said, trying to apologize for making them worry.

"Why are you apologizing? You went above and beyond Naruto. You should be proud." Hinata scolded lightly.

"She's right, he may have been our friend and teammate before….before this but after what Sasuke did to you, he's a traitor and nothing more." Sakura sounded resolute, but Naruto could see the slight flicker of grief in her eyes at the mention of the other boy's name. She had a crush on him for years, even though they were so young. Unlike the other girls though, Naruto had an idea that it wasn't a simple school girl crush on the mysterious and brooding pretty boy Uchiha.

"Girls I'm fine, I'll be better in no time. All that other stuff with Sasuke we can just, talk about it later or something." Naruto said.

"Fine, so...what did Lady Tsuande and Lord Jiraiya have to talk about? I know it was more than just the mission." Sakura prodded as she climbed to a more comfortable sitting position beside Naruto and finally released the agonizing embrace.

"Sakura, we shouldn't pry." Hinata reprimanded the other girl as she took a seat on the bed beside her.

"You're right, Hinata. Still though." Sakura gave a pointed look to the only boy in the room.

Naruto couldn't help but grimace at that look. Really Sakura would take the news harshly but even though he knew she'd play it off as best as she could, Hinata would be the far more upset of the two. It would be best to be upfront and honest about it though. Trying to hold it back would lead to both girls trying to pry it out of him in their own special annoying ways.

"Well…" he began with a sigh. "I'll be leaving soon. Going on another mission essentially."

"What?!" Sakura shouted. "They can't do that! You nearly died just now!"

"It's far too soon to send you back out again." Hinata frantically pleaded. The difference in reaction between the two girls made Naruto internally chuckle. Sakura and Hinata were really like night and day despite both being his closest friends.

"Wait, I don't mean like tomorrow. It'll be a while after I recover. I don't think I'll be in any kind of danger anyway. Tsunade wants to send me to some kind of school to learn more peaceful skills or something." Naruto waved off the questioning looks of the girls making it clear he wasn't about to get into a conversation about it just yet.

"So it's a long term thing then?" Hinata asked with a sad look on her face.

"I guess. I don't know exactly how long but I think it will be a really long one. I'll write though. Promise." Naruto said with a small grin and both girls sent one back.

The three young teens continued talking till visitors hours were over. Most of the conversation was clearly geared by all three of them to avoid thinking about their former comrade's betrayal and the close call Naruto and several of their other friends had suffered through.

The short span of time between Naruto finally being released from the hospital and his departure seemed to slide by in the blink of an eye. With final heartwarming goodbyes to his friends and loved ones, including the two girls and Hokage herself, Naruto set out with Jiraiya, bound oddly enough for the Land of Waves to hire a ship.

The trip was largely uneventful. Rather than making quick time by flying or using the enhancement spell all wizards of the elemental nations started with, Naruto and Jiraiya casually strolled down the road to Wave. They took even longer than when Naruto's team had taken Tazuna along the same route.

The main reason for the slower pace though was because Jiraiya was making good on his promise. He was intent that before they got on a ship Naruto would have the spell he selected for him mastered. Not just learned but mastered. Capable of using it wandlessly and wordlessly. No easy feat for a normal spell, let alone one on the level that Jiraiya had decided to school him with.

Just as he had planned though, Naruto had it perfectly down by the time they reached the central isle for the Land of Waves. Crossing a bridge named after himself was a bit surreal even for a scion of the Elder Clans like Naruto. The people of Wave Country only reinforced that with the way they treated Naruto and his teacher once they found their way to the town itself.

The villagers, especially Tazuna, Tsunami, and Inari all but refused to let Jiraiya and Naruto pay for anything. A place to sleep? They received the nicest rooms at the nicest inn in Wave. It wasn't a resort by any measure but it was still a nice enough place to stay the handful of days they needed. Food? The villagers were practically beating down their door to serve them. Entertainment? Naruto was plenty pleased by the impromptu fair that suddenly sprung up around their arrival. Games and a couple performances of the battle with Gato's forces reenacted was excellent for taking Naruto's mind off his trip for a while. Jiraiya was similarly distracted by a few more private encounters.

In the end the pair stayed an additional day in Wave than they had planned but still it was hard to brush past such attention and affection. All things must end though and the pair finally were able to acquire a ship to one of the barrier isles that surrounded the elemental nations and acted as hidden gateways between Naruto's world and the rest of the planet. Again the ship was also free of charge and Naruto couldn't help but wonder if he'd struggle to readjust to having to pay for things again.

It took four days of continuous travel across the waves before they came to a tiny islet with what looked like a small temple built upon a cliff face. Naruto pestered his teacher the whole way up the hundreds of steps to the hilltop where the temple rested. Even when he was getting to be obnoxious, though Jiraiya simply smirked and told him he'd see what they would be doing.

And see he did. There in the temple was a simple doorway. As if to step off over the cliff and plummet to one's death. Instead of the empty air though, Naruto saw another half of an island.

Jiraiya couldn't help the laughter bubbling up as he watched the boy cautiously prod at the ground before placing his weight on it. As if expecting the island to be nothing but an illusion. Once he had stepped through Naruto turned to look back only to see a mirror of the island he'd just left. A cliff with an impossible doorway leading to another half of an island.

"That's serious magic." Naruto said in a breathy voice. The amount of talent and power to erect something like the barrier was insane to him.

"That's the Sage's Gift for you kid. The barrier has got to be one of the greatest pieces of magical work in history if not the greatest. Don't ask me exactly how it works, but the closest that I understood when I was told was it's like putting the whole Elemental Nations in a little pocket and the temples like this one are the only ways in and out." Jiraiya explained before waving for his student to follow after him down the hill on this new island.

In the distance a small town, very different than those back home sat cradled in the valley of a pair of hills. What Jiraiya had explained to Naruto were cars, drove here and there and a couple planes even flew over head.

"Non-magical technology…" Naruto whispered.

"Naruto, you need to get it together. Someone may suspect something weird if you are awed by every single thing you see." Jiraiya lightly scolded, though the humorous tone and slight grin on his face showed he was mostly joking.

"Yeah, yeah, International Statute of Secrecy or whatever. Seems dumb being as we never chose to support it." Naruto said.

"Kid, the Sage's Gift was the inspiration for it. They didn't really need our permission and were pretty much guests in this place so you will respect their laws and customs to the best of your abilities." Jiraiaya explained with his eyes narrowing in seriousness at the end of his statement.

"I will." Naruto said with a shrug.

"Good. Now it's time to change. Here." Jiraiya said as he tossed a bag to the boy. Inside was a pair of shorts, a shirt, socks, tennis shoes, and even a pair of underwear and odd necklace.

"Wait," Naruto began to argue, not wanting to surrender his normal clothing that held small charms to help protect him in a fight.

"No. No arguments, you will change into that, even the underwear. We have to blend in fully. There is a seal on the necklace to store all your normal clothing so hop to it. You can use those bushes over there." Jiraiya said as he stepped behind a bush of his own and began changing clothes.

Naruto grumbled irritably but didn't really have any excuse so he did as he was told. When he came back out he noticed Jiraiya was already dressed in a brightly colored, loose fitting, flower print shirt with buttons that he left open revealing a white undershirt beneath. He wore a pair of green cargo shorts and black flip flops. At the moment he was covering the red marks on his cheeks with extremely thin strips that matched his skin tone perfectly. His hair also looked shorter done up in an impossibly small man-bun for how large of a mane of hair he had sported just before hand.

Noticing the kid staring at him Jiraiya shot him a grin waved his hand at the back of his head. "I'll teach you a lot of seals next time I have you with me. Right now we're a bit behind schedule though so we should pick it up. Just let me check you over first."

As he spoke, Jiraiya did just that. Giving his charge a once over to make sure he had actually done as he was told and changed into the more 'muggle friendly' clothes that his friends and contacts in the outer world had explained about to him.

Naruto wore a pair of cargo shorts of his own, tan with extra pockets on his pockets, something that he couldn't help but feel was pointless. What need would he ever have of ten pockets on a single pair of shorts? Along with it was a plain bright blue T-shirt with a single pocket over the breast and a pair of white tennis shoes. Around his neck hung two necklaces, the one used to seal up his belongings and a second one that Jiraiya knew better than to try and get Naruto to seal up. A small orange and red medallion. One that had passed down from parent to child among the members of the Uzumaki house for generations.

With a wave of his hand Jiraiya signalled for Naruto to fall in behind him as he started on his way down toward the town. As they went, Naruto did his best not to seem enthralled by all the differences that this place had to offer from their own home. Jiraiya had to collar the boy and pull him along at multiple points just to get him onto the plane when then boarded.

The aircraft was small, only seating a dozen people. A short trip to their first destination, the island they were headed to was evidently part of a country called the Philippines, according to Jiraiya. He'd shown him where at exactly on a map and pointed out where their final destination for the trip was. Practically on the other side of the globe. Naruto was a bit concerned for how it was they intended to get there in a timely manner. Like before though, Jiraiya had simply grinned and told him that he would see.

When the plane set down on the new island Naruto was already somewhat more used to the hustle and bustle of muggle life. The difference was that this was now a minor city compared to the town he had encountered previously. The stories he'd heard from Jiraiya about places such as London or Hong Kong had him actually nervous. The thought of experiencing such crowded and amazing places made him practically vibrate with anticipation.

Naruto was sadly disappointed though when instead of continuing on to a larger city they instead made their way to a tiny village. One with less than ten families even living within it. His disappointment was short lived though as he realized that he was encountering his very first Wizarding community outside of the Elemental Nations.

It was smaller than he'd hoped for, and there wasn't magic just being used openly. However he could see a few oddities. Odd small creatures dressed in rags waved the hands in the air while laundry floated above them and ringed out water to begin drying. Similar though far more aggressive looking creatures in nice suits chattered at one another roughly nearby. It looked as if they were debating something, though Naruto had no way of knowing what.

"Those are elves and goblins. They're pretty common out here. At least away from non-magical folks they are." Jiraiya explained as the continued walking, passing though most of the town before coming to a clearing with a strange assortment of items scattered throughout it.

"Here we are, just let me…" Jiraiya said as he drew out his long Beech wood wand and slowly waved it in front of himself before letting out a small pleased grunt.

"This one right over here Naruto. The glove missing the thumb." Jiraiya said as he stepped over to what looked like trash to Naruto.

"This, kiddo, is called a portkey. Something that will take us to where we're headed in no time at all….just whatever you don't let go till I tell you to." Jiraiya explained.

Naruto couldn't help but feel a bit sceptical, but seeing Jiraiya grab hold of the glove by the index finger he settled in opposite of him and wrapped his hand around the little finger.

In no time at all suddenly the world spun and Naruto held on to the little glove for dear life as they seemed to spin through the air. Around him it looked like he was at the center of a cyclone and Jiraiya simply laughed uproariously at his godson's wide eyes.

After a few moments Jiraiya suddenly hollered for Naruto to let go and did the same himself. Hesitating only a second Naruto did the same and found himself spiralling through the air before impacting roughly on a small grassy hill.

With his experiences back home, Naruto was able to tuck and roll into a crouched position avoiding too much discomfort at the sudden stop. Still the face Jiraiya was confronted with as he safely lowered himself to the ground was pinched up in a rather sour expression. It just made the elder man smile all the more brightly.

"Cheer up kid! I mean look around you! Welcome to Britain!" He cheered boisterously.

"It's just grass and trees as far as I can see. And a cloudy sky. I think it's going to rain." Naruto grumbled.

"Bah, there's just something about the air when you first come to a new country. Every time I cross a border I feel all new and fresh." Jiraiya said as he began leading his charge off down a dirt path beside the clearing they had landed in.

"Is that why you like being a wanderer?" Naruto asked, forgetting his earlier irritation in exchange for genuine curiosity.

"Part of it. I think some people like me are just naturally pulled to it. Then again you'd be shocked how different women are in different places. That-" Jiraiya began before Naruto tuned him out, no longer that curious. Sure girls interested him, he was a boy in the midst of puberty after all, but he had no interest in becoming a perverted lecher like his godfather.

The two walked for quite some time before they came upon another small town though it was larger than the last village by a decent amount and had a lot more people. Actual people, not little goblins and elves. Though they dressed oddly and Naruto couldn't understand a lick of whatever language they spoke.

Following his godfather, they came to a building that Naruto quickly learned was a tavern of some kind. All manner of odd characters sat at the bar and tables, and suddenly Naruto realized just how out of place he looked in his muggle clothing.

Jiraiya seemed to notice too as he pointed out a couple of rooms at the back.

"We'll use the bathrooms to change. You first kid."

Naruto stepped quickly back to the restrooms and took the toilet stall for himself, unsealed his clothing and changed into his normal uniform complete with still new chunin vest.

After returning to the main area, Naruto easily found Jiraiya at a table with an extremely old man and a woman who also looked older than Jiraiya. He made his way over to them and took the open seat.

"Excellent. I'll let you introduce yourselves while I change right quick." Jiraiya said before slipping away.

The pair of elders said a few things in their foreign language while Naruto blinked owlishly at them.

The old man seemed amused while the woman simply sighed and drew her wand out causing Naruto to tense immediately.

"Really he hasn't changed a bit in all these years." She groaned after flicker her wand around Naruto and returning it to its place.

"Wait, what?" Naruto asked suddenly able to understand his tablemates.

"A simple translation spell. It's only temporary but will help you to learn our language far quicker even once it's no longer active." She instructed.

He might not yet know her name but already Naruto could tell this woman had to be one of the teachers at the academy he was to evidently be attending. She carries herself with a similar though still unique way that Iruka did. Not to mention the lecturing tone she used was simply too perfect for a teacher for her not to fit the bill.

"So you must be Naruto Uzumaki?" The elder man asked him.

"Yessir. Uh who are you two teachers at that school I'm going to now?" Naruto responded.

"Correct, though it is more proper to say I am the headmaster Albus Dumbledore and this is my friend and colleague, Deputy Headmistress Minerva McGonagall." The man introduced himself and the woman with a friendly voice.

"It's nice to meet you, you already said my name so I guess we're all introduced." Naruto replied farting a light chuckle from the man as he replied so we are.

"So...am I going to your school and staying there until whenever I go home or am I staying in this village?" Naruto asked.

"Neither truthfully. You'll be staying with another trusted colleague and his family. Their own child will be attending Hogwarts this year as well so it should be easy enough to manage both of you. Your guardian told us you are rather low maintenance so I don't see any troubles arriving there." Dumbledore spoke jovially.

"Alright." Naruto replied a bit unsure.

"I assure you Mister Uzumaki that the Snape's are a friendly family and you'll have a good time staying with them. Either way it will only be for a couple of weeks before the start of the school year then you will be staying at Hogwarts." McGonagall reassured him.

Jiraiya returned at the point and, after a humorous scolding from McGonagall on his thoughtlessness, the group enjoyed a meal and some drinks. Naruto wasn't sure what to think of the butter beer he had been given. It wasn't bad though.

The food was much more hearty than he was normally used to. Thick rolls, heavy gravy and a large slab of what he supposed was some sort of bird. The conversation was geared primarily on telling Naruto what to expect for the next few weeks and at Hogwarts.

After the meal the group set out as one toward the looming castle nearby that Naruto had learned during the meal was in fact the school itself. A giddy feeling at experiencing such a place first hand swept through him only to be disappointed as they stopped at an outer building a short distance from the school itself.

"Beyond here is the school wards that keep wizards from apparating. It will be here that Jiraiya and I will be going out separate ways young Naruto, though I assure it's been a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I'll be seeing you once more in a few weeks." Dumbledore informed him with twinkling eyes.

"Sadly, for you and me this is goodbye for now kid. I won't see you again for at least a year so be on your best behaviour but try and enjoy yourself too alright?" Jiraiya said with a soft smile. There was something in his eyes, Naruto decided, but it wasn't the same shimmer he had seen in Dumbledore's that Naruto easily perceived as interest and mild humor. Jiraiya's held something different, but he looked away before the young blond could properly figure out what it was.

"Come along Mister Uzumaki, it is already getting late and we don't want to too terribly disrupt the schedule of the Snapes." McGonagall called as she held out her hand.

Naruto awkwardly took her hand and a sudden twist pulled at him and suddenly they were apparating to the Snape house leaving a pair of white haired men behind.

Haley sighed as she brushed at her dark hair. Her mother all but forbade her from cutting it and now the dark black waves she had inherited from her father reached past her shoulders. It was an annoyance to deal with already as her parents had given her especially thick and oily hair that took a lot of work to keep looking nice and untangled.

Looking at herself in the mirror though she had to smile. She knew many of the girls her age fretted over the looks terribly but she couldn't bring herself to truly be unhappy with the gifts her folks had passed down. Long thick waves of raven hair, a fair bordering on pale complexion, and bright green eyes. The only blemish was a lightning bolt shaped scar on her temple that she typically hid behind a lock of her hair.

Her small smile dimmed a little at the sight of that scar. It represented quite the burden, all things considered. She hadn't even been to Hogwarts or even received a wand yet, but already she was quite used to the hassling from strangers about her status as the Girl-Who-Lived.

It had died down for a couple years since she was little, but this past year with her looking to start at Hogwarts it was like it was starting all over again. Not to mention her former best friend Ron Weasley had started acting like a complete fool with her. Always either trying to show off somehow or bragging to complete strangers about how close they were.

She was happy this stranger that her parents had said would be staying with them would be going with them to Diagon alley for school supplies rather than Ron. He was still her friend but the boy was quickly getting onto her last nerve.

When she had complained about it her mother had simply said 'boys' with a laugh. Her father at least seemed to understand. He'd told her he hadn't ever thought much of the worst of the Weasleys. She'd had to defend her friend to him, again, when he said it. Still secretly she was glad that someone else found him annoying.

"Haley!" Her mother called up the stairs.

"Coming mum!" She called back down.

Standing, the eleven year old got dressed quickly, knowing they were expecting company and raced down stairs. Unlike most of the others in their small town of Tamwell, both of Haley's parents had grown up in a strictly muggle town. It evidently hadn't been the best of place either as neither had even so much as suggested visiting the place they had grown up in the eleven years that Haley had lived. Still their muggle upbringings had led to them being different than the mostly halfblood and pureblood population of Tamwell.

Coming to the bottom of the stairs she saw her mother putting away her wand from cleaning up the living room. Lily Snape was everything Haley wanted to be once she was an adult. Beautiful, kind, strong, and intelligent. She was a veteran of the Wizarding War and currently worked as a Healer.

The redheaded woman was currently humming a soft tune that Haley couldn't quite place while putting the finishing touches on straightening up the house. It wasn't rare for the Snape's to receive guests, much to her father's chagrin. However it was rare that someone would be staying, not only over night but for an extended amount of time with them.

Haley was honestly very interested in finding out how they convinced her somewhat prickly father into accepting such a responsibility. The man could be very kind and loving, but those that he was so kind and loving too were very small in number. A complete stranger wasn't typically something he would let around his family let alone stay in the house with them.

With a whoosh suddenly Severus Snape stepped through the fireplace shaking off the trace amounts of soot from his floo travel.

"Sev." Lily said happily as she stepped forward to hug and kiss her husband.

Haley's parents couldn't be more opposite of one another. Lily was somewhat short, bright in every way with red hair, fair skin, bright green eyes, and a typically sunny disposition. Severus was tall with jet black hair and dark eyes with a close trimmed beard and very pale skin he very rarely even smiled.

At the sight of his wife and daughter and greeting from the former, the smallest of grins slid onto his face and his eyes softened considerably.

"Girls." He greeted with his deep voice, causing Haley to step forward and hug her father as well.

"They'll be here soon I assume?" He asked as they broke the embrace. He seemed a bit put out by the whole thing but Lily sent him a narrowed eyes look.

"Yes any minute now. Be polite Sev or else." Lily warned. Haley grimaced slightly. She used to wonder what exactly her mother threatened her father with. She'd only recently learned and the thought was positively gross for her eleven year old mind.

The doorbell pulled the three family members from their thoughts as they glanced over to the front door as one.

"Speak of the devil." Severus grumbled getting a light swat from his wife on the side as they stepped forward to open the door.

When the door opened Haley twisted around her father to see the people her mother was greeting. She knew Professor McGonagall. She was one of the people her parents would occasionally have over for dinner. However, the boy beside her on the porch was different.

He looked like a miniature soldier really. A blue uniform with insignia patches on the shoulders as well as a green vest that she'd seen on a couple of muggle war documentaries like from the war in the Persian Gulf. He was blond with bright blue eyes that were taking in everything around him with a small amount of interest.

"Welcome Professor, and this must be our guest. I'm Lily Snape and this is my husband and daughter Severus and Haley." Haley's mother greeted.

"Err, Greetings Mrs. Snape and family. I am called Naruto Uzumaki." He said in heavily accented english.

"He's currently under translation charm so it will be some time before he is more fluent. He's had quite a bit of practice already. I think by the time he starts at Hogwarts he won't need the charm as a crutch anymore." McGonagall explained.

So this was the person that would be staying with them. He was only a couple years older than herself as far as Haley could tell. This was supposed to be the prodigious foreign wizard that would stay with her family until some conflict blew over back in his own home? He kind of looked flaky, like he wasn't too interested in the people talking with him.

"Well come in." Lily said as she ushered everyone to the sitting area. Haley caught a slight frown from her father as he looked the boy over. She wondered if he disliked something specific about this Naruto, or if he just was unhappy a teenage boy would be staying across the hall from his daughter.

That thought made her blush slightly as she still found such thoughts both embarrassing and gross. While averting her eyes to the ground she never noticed the amused look from her mother and flickering of a murderous one on her father.

The group sat down in the Snape family living room and chatted. Most of the conversation was about the arrangements for Naruto to stay with them or idle conversation about old times between McGonagall and Lily. Eventually though, it slowly became an interrogation of Naruto by Severus.

Haley sat in and listened as Naruto did his best to answer the questions. Most were pretty basic. Where was he from, though Haley was sure her father already knew the answer. When did he begin using magic, what was magic like in his Homeland, what was his opinion of muggles and muggleborns...that was an interesting one.

"I don't understand." Naruto answered to that question.

"Oh? Which part? Or just the words coming from my mouth in general?" Severus asked sharply though he grunted faintly as Lily ground her heel into his toes under the coffee table.

"I mean, the Elemental Nations only have magical people. Muggles just seem like normal people without magic. Is this a trick question?" Naruto asked looking between the three adults.

"No, no that's fine, an excellent answer Naruto." Lily replied with a motherly smile directed at the boy that caused him to avert his eyes slightly. Something everyone else took note of but mercifully didn't bring up.

"I think that is quite enough. I must be getting back. It's been a pleasure as always Lily, Haley." McGonagall said as she stood. She then shot an unamused look toward Severus. "Severus."

Lily saw the elder witch out while Severus continued to stare at the boy. Finally he spoke again but his voice had a different tone to it than earlier. As if the last answer Naruto had given had earned the blond the smallest measure of respect from the man.

"You are from one of the elder clans?" It was posed as a question but sounded more like an accusation.

"You know of the clans from my home?" Naruto asked in his still rough english.

"We know of them, yes. Mostly of your elder clans and their history." Severus answered.

"You mean the wars…" Naruto quietly voiced.

"Yes." Snape said simply.

By now Haley felt very out of place. Not to mention she felt as if her father had either forgotten she was there entirely or he wanted her to hear some dark secret about the boy to ward her away from their guest.

"Yes I am the last of my clan. My mother was last before me but my father was a true blood soldier for my country before he died." Naruto answered. He locked eyes with Severus. The boy no longer looked awkward and uncomfortable. He seemed to be getting agitated if anything.

"So your mother…" Haley asked, causing both males in the room to look her way.

"Dead." Naruto said simply as he turned back to look Severus in the eyes.

Lily reentered the room at that moment and immediately her eyes narrowed at Severus in annoyance. She should have made him see Minerva off along with her. He could be such a bastard sometimes. If she didn't know under all the paranoia and cutting words was a kind and generous man. She would probably despise him.

"Alright, it's getting late so let's all head to bed. Haley, why don't you show our guest to his room while your father and I discuss some things for tomorrow." Lily said.

Haley nodded and snatching Naruto by the wrist led him up the stairs. Lily shot him a warm smile much like earlier and Naruto couldn't help but awkwardly look away from the woman causing her smile to waver slightly. It fell completely when the two kids had ascended the stairs and disappeared down the hall. Turning to look at her husband she nearly smiled again when he visibly cringed at the glare she shot him. This was going to be a good talk, she decided at that reaction.

Upstairs, Haley led Naruto past her room pointing out the bathroom and her and her parents rooms before stopping at his door and swing the door open.

"This is you." She said while waving a hand toward the room.

It was plain looking. A full sized bed against the far wall with walking space on either side of it. A large dresser was against the wall nearest them and a window beside the bed looked out over the dark yard and street below.

"Thanks." Naruto said as he stepped in, pulling a scroll from the holder along his waist and unrolling it. He drew his wand too quickly for Haley to get a good look at it and tapped the odd design on the paper causing a puff of smoke to cloud the bed before it cleared, revealing a small suitcase and bag.

The boy wasted no time unpacking and surprised her with how orderly he situated his clothing into the dresser. all the boys her age that she knew were disorganized and honestly a bit disgusting. Maybe it was normal for boys in the Elemental Lands to be so neat and tidy.

It wasn't until he had finished putting away his clothes and magically placed the suitcase back into the paper that he turned back toward her.

"I still need to shower and clean my mouth." He said.

"Clean your mouth?" She asked with a lifted eyebrow.

"Yes, clean my mouth." He said again, holding up a toothbrush.

"Oh, I get it now. You mean brush your teeth." She said.

"Yes, but also floss and brush my tongue, all the normal things to clean your mouth." He said somewhat frustrated with the girl.

"Alright. I'm tired anyway. I showed you where the bathroom is. Goodnight." Haley replied after picking up his darkening mood.

"Thank you." Naruto replied before slipping past her and down the hall into the bathroom.

"I bet he can be moody just like dad." Haley grumbled as she went back toward her room.

She took a moment to peek down at her parents and scoffed. They were using a muffling spell so she couldn't hear what they were saying. Still she snickered quietly as she saw her mother clearly laying into her father for his rude questions toward their guest.

Turning back to her bedroom Haley headed to bed to get some sleep. She hadn't been able to get a good read on Naruto quite yet but had definitely caught her interest. Especially since he hadn't shown any interest in her status as the Girl-Who-Lived. She looked forward to getting to know him better maybe he could even end up being her friend. They'd both be going to Hogwarts soon after all.

Naruto had been staying with the Snape's for over a week. He had to admit, once he got past the cold exterior of mister Snape the man grew on him. He liked to think the opposite was true as well but Severus Snape was not an easy person to read.

At least Lily and Haley had both been good company. At times Haley tried his patience a bit. Asking questions similar to her father and staring at him like she was working on a puzzle had him feel awkward and a bit agitated but it wasn't terrible and she backed off whenever he started becoming antsy with her prying.

Misses Snape was a different matter. She was all around a great hostess and he couldn't help liking her. He did dislike being around her though. She was so much like his own late mother that it made his chest hurt and long, tamped down tears threatened to build in his eyes if he spent too much time with her. Her personality matched what he remembered of his mother so much and adding to it she looked like she could have been Kushina's cousin based off appearances.

That all being said, he was enjoying himself for the most part here in Britain. He hadn't been able to do all that much but today they would be going to Diagon alley to retrieve his and Haley's school supplies for the year. As well as some additional 'proper wizarding clothes' according to Lily.

"Step lively kids, we've got a lot to do, you know." Lily called over as she and Severus stood by the door.

Naruto and Haley had both been scrambling to get ready for the day. The boy scolded himself for already falling into such a comfortable lifestyle. He had to make note that he couldn't begin to let himself slip into such civilian ways. When he got home there would be no excuses for such things.

"We're ready mum, are we taking the floo or are we apparating?" Haley asked.

"Apparating." Severus answered for his wife. "Mister Uzumaki, come here. Haley your mother will take you alongside."

Naruto let the elder man grip his shoulder, a little more tightly than was necessary but it wasn't painful so Naruto didn't truly mind. With a snap and whirl they were gone and suddenly he was in Diagon Alley.

It was similar in some aspects to how it had been described to him. Though he had to say that Alley didn't come close to doing the place justice. It was like an entire town hidden within a muggle city. Towering buildings and bustling streets. Crowds chattering back and forth. Honestly it was all a bit much to take in.

"This way." Snape said plainly over his shoulder catching Naruto's attention.

The man had already joined his family and were waiting for Naruto in front of a building with a large sign labeling it as Gringotts Bank. Fitting enough it looked to be the largest building in the neighborhood, though it's odd twists and trunks made it look like it could fall at any time. He doubted very much that the building was near as unstable as it appeared though. Goblins didn't inhabit flimsy construction after all. Picky lot that they tended to be.

Catching up to the Snapes, Naruto continued to take in the sights around him. Beyond just the shops that seemed to encompass every building in the area, there also seemed to be a great many kiosks and stalls selling all manner of things. Trinkets, candies, one looked to be selling potions though from the look he saw both Severus and Lily sent the stall's way he doubted the wares offered there were worth much of anything.

Stepping into the bank Naruto was a bit surprised how orderly the place was. It was still jammed packed, especially with the Goblins everywhere, however everyone seemed entirely devoted to some task or other. Too busy to even bother glancing in the group's direction. That is until they approached a tall desk and Snape cleared his throat quite clearly to gain the clerk's attention.

"Ahh, Master Prince, a pleasure as always." The Goblin uttered through needle sharp teeth, somehow sounding both respectful and put out at the same time. Naruto and Haley had both been so focused on the little Goblin at the desk as he spoke they didn't notice the grunt coming from Severus at the continued referral to him as Master Prince by the Goblins.

Though, like with all magical creatures, including most wizards if you were to ask Snape, Goblins were far too stubborn to change the way they did something just because it was proper.

"Yes, Kraglok I have need to withdraw some coins for my daughter and I have need to have my temporary charge Naruto Uzumaki access some of his own funds as well." Severus said politely though flatly.

"Of course. A simple matter for both, I just need proof of Master Uzumaki's heritage." Kraglok said as he withdrew a small piece of paper and held it out toward Naruto.

Assuming it was some sort of seal or other magical enchantment Naruto reached toward the paper with a mildly confused look only for a quick flash of a knife, faster than Naruto imagined the creature capable of, slid across his index finger tip dropping a good sized droplet onto the paper without a problem.

Suddenly, on a second larger piece of paper an entire family tree suddenly appeared. As if a living tree made of ink growing right from the blank page. It was large. Severus and Lily both mentall noted it dated back longer than any family tree that they had seen in person. Something truly remarkable.

"It appears all is in order. We will have to make connections with our branch beyond the Sage's Gift so we'll visit the Prince family vaults first. Master Snape, would you like for Master Uzumaki to wait here until we return or-" Kraglok asked but Lily waved her hands disapprovingly.

"No, he can come with us. It's not like he could access the vaults of the Prince family just by knowing where they are. Plus we can just go on to his own afterward." Lily said with finality. Kraglok hesitated a moment before shrugging and leading the small group to a pair of rail cars that then rocketed down the rail line through massive caverns and even under waterfalls to a deep section of the bank set aside for the noble family of Prince, now Snape.

It didn't take long for them to collect up a decent set of Galleons. Naruto was a bit surprised by just how much they had in one vault, and according to Haley her Grandmother's family had left her father seven more just like it and he and her mother had both filled another two with profits from potions and healing charms they'd patented.

"Your parents must really be brilliant, Haley." Naruto had commented while Severus and Lily spoke up front with Kraglok about something or other.

"Yeah they really are." She said with a small smile though Naruto could tell something bothered her.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Oh it's nothing, really." Haley answered and Naruto stared at her for a couple of moments. They both knew that was a lie, but still Naruto chose not to pry. Much to the relief of Haley.

After some time spent waiting, the group finally began making their way to another section of the bank. Even knowledgeable as he was beyond most kids his age, Naruto was still confused how exactly money transfers between Gringott's branches worked. Especially if they were transferring as much as he expected.

"It is more simple than you would think. We may not have a large presence in the Elemental Nations but we have several human kin there that do business in our name. So a few seals placed in the right spot and proper order and we can transfer money back and forth with relative ease. The real time waster is converting the Ryo your people use to the Galleons we use." Kraglok informed Naruto. He seemed much more friendly to Naruto specifically than earlier.

When they arrived at what would be Naruto's section of vaults, the Snape family realized why. Their eight vaults had nothing on Naruto's wealth.

"Let's see, from your guardian Lady Tsunade Senju you receive access to the Senju accounts though a note says you are not to touch them until certain parameters are met. It doesn't say what these parameters are and oddly enough you have full access legally if you should wish, she simply says for you not to touch them." The goblin explained though the fact that Tsunade was seemingly trusting Naruto not to take galleons but putting no method of stopping him legally confused him greatly. The idea of such lax security from someone not meant to touch the money was almost disgusting to him.

"Ah yes next comes the Uzumaki accounts...which are vast. Lastly are the Namikaze accounts which fit into these two vaults here. Both are fully open and available to you." Kraglok pointed out as the first one was opened to reveal a sizeable amount of galleons though the vault wasn't itself full to the brim. This of course was the spillover from the other Namikaze vault.

Naruto retrieved a large bag worth of money, though it was practically nothing comparatively and tossed a hefty tip to Kraglok himself.

"Thank you, I didn't think it would get here so fast." Naruto said.

"Well what I was trying to say earlier is it technically doesn't. This is more or less a copy of your vaults back beyond the Sage's Gift, just converted directly to our currency. Anything you take out here magically disappears from the vaults there and vice versa." Kraglok explained as he led them back to the carts.

"Now are there any other transactions I can help you with today?" The goblin asked.

"I believe that will be all." Severus replied smoothly.

Meanwhile Haley had taken to quizzing Naruto on things regarding all the money he had access to. She wasn't being rude per se, but the fact was she was a suitably nosy child and very much the daughter of Severus and Lily Snape. That was to say she had the blunt manner of speaking from her father and reckless brashness from her mother.

"I've heard of the Uzumaki and Senju, I think they were mentioned by my dad. Something about the Elder Clans. Who are the Namikaze though?" Haley asked.

"The Namikaze aren't really a they. My dad was given the name Namikaze as an orphan because his actual parents were unknown. He invented a lot of spells and seals still used over back home so he gets some money through them as well as the company he started." Naruto answered.

"Oh, how do they not know who his parents are did they not have him at the hospital or something?" She asked, causing her parents to take interest though Severus stopped his wife from intervening just yet.

"No, my dad was a battlefield orphan. Happens a lot in the outlying towns and villages. A place gets swept up in a battle between two countries and the chaos leaves people displaced and families separated. My dad was like two or three when my godfather's team found him when scouting a battlefield between Iwa and Kumo. It's, sadly, pretty normal back home." Naruto explained though he was beginning to grow annoyed with the girl once more.

She'd often pester him for information on his home and he didn't really see a reason not to tell her but her questions always slowly drifted to more personal topics like asking about his mother and even how she died. He hadn't answered that one. Thankfully Lily had halted Haley at that time and scolded her for being rude. The small grumble about just asking had been her only defense.

"How come the Uzumaki and Senju have so much money but you only have those uniforms and that one pair of muggle clothes to wear?" She asked.

"How come you have so much Prince family money and still live in a normal house?" Naruto asked with a bit more annoyance than he meant to.

"I dunno really. I think it's cause my mum and dad wanted to raise me around more people. There's a couple Prince manors or estates or whatever but they are all far away from other people. I mean I even went to a muggle school till last year so I guess that had to be it." Haley answered, causing the boy to sigh slightly as his intentions missed the mark with the younger girl and she hadn't realized he was getting annoyed with her.

"Right, what's next?" Naruto asked, turning to the adults, causing Haley to huff slightly at his dismissal.

"We need to get you both school robes and you specifically some proper wizarding clothes. You aren't wearing those uniforms while you're here." Lily said with authority.

"I have to say shopping sucks." Naruto sighed sadly, getting a small grunt of agreement from Severus who then grimaced slightly as two sets of annoyed green eyes narrowed in on him and Naruto.

"Tough." Both mother and daughter said with almost identical notions of flicking their hair over their right shoulder.

As the group came up to Madam Malkin's, the most popular robe tailor in Diagon Alley, they found another family similarly looking to buy new robes. However, unlike Naruto and the Snapes it was quite easy to tell they were muggles and quite lost on exactly what to do.

"Hello, could you use a hand?" The ever friendly Lily Snape asked as she greeted the family.

They looked slightly relieved at her friendly greeting as it was clear some magical folk had passed them by without a second glance or even the occasional dirty look and sneer of contempt. Naruto took a second to look over the family. Though he was most interested in the daughter as she was the one that would no doubt be attending Hogwarts with himself and Haley.

She was clearly a first year like Haley. She had frizzy hair and otherwise looked plain to Naruto in practically every way.

"And this is Hermione." The man said as he lightly rubbed his daughter's hair causing Naruto to realize he had largely missed introductions.

"A pleasure Mister and Misses Granger. Have you already gotten your robes?" Lily asked.

"Not yet, we just came from that...bank." Mrs. Granger said with some trepidation. Evidently Diagon Alley was a bit much for a muggle to take in.

"Well excellent. If you like you all could join us. My own parents were muggles and my husband's father was as well. Naruto here was from a completely different continent and is rather new to how things are done here as well." Lily continued on clearly making both of the Granger parents relax around her.

Leading the group in Lily wrangled the children easily and got them measured out and taken care of by Madam Malkin in no time at all. Though it wasn't fast enough for Naruto's taste.

He had thought Haley to be the most invasive and curious of people he would encounter here in Britain. He'd been sorely mistaken as soon Hermione was questioning him even more so than Haley typically did.

"Well that's all for here, let's see. Books, familiars, oh and wands!" Lily said excitedly about the last subject.

"I already have a wand. If you like I could go and get the books for all three of us and meet you at...wherever you get familiars at." Naruto tried to offer an excuse to escape the pair of far too curious girls.

"Hmm, better we stay together especially if you don't know where to go. It's best that Ollivander take a measure of your wand anyway." Severus said cooly.

"Sev is right Naruto it's best you stay with us till you're more familiar with the area." Lily agreed and began leading the small pack they had built off toward the bookstore.

'Foul Creature!' Naruto mentally screamed as he shot a fiery look toward Severus. Both girls chatted at him from either side of his person.

'Suffer, Boy!' Severus thought almost gleefully as cold amusement danced in his dark eyes.

The group took far longer than Naruto would have liked in the bookstore. He enjoyed reading, though few people knew that about him. However he definitely preferred fictional stories about adventure and heroics. How it was that Haley and Hermione were getting excited for textbooks of all things baffled him. They had been especially interested in a handful of history books about Hogwarts and had been asking all sorts of questions about how education compared between the wizarding world, muggle world, and elemental nations. It was driving him up the wall, they occasionally didn't even wait for him to answer, simply asking additional questions before he could even open his mouth and then asking why it was he wasn't answering them at all.

Thankfully the adults seemed to realize what was happening and decided they had spent enough time there, though Naruto could tell Severus had a bit of extra pep in his step from seeing his annoyance. Not that it truly changed from the somewhat dramatic sweeping gait that he normally used.

Coming to Ollivander's the group entered and stared at the massive amount of wands filed away on the walls. It didn't take long for the small old man who evidently was Ollivander himself to come rushing up with a friendly and welcoming smile.

"Welcome, welcome! I see some returning faces. A pleasure Mister and Misses Snape. And this is no doubt miss Haley Snape. The spitting image of your mum and dad." The man greeted before turning to Naruto and the Grangers.

"And some new faces as well, greetings to all of you. I'm sure your here for your first wand you Miss…" The kind old man asked with a warm smile sent Hermione's way.

"Hermione Granger sir." She replied with a slight bob of her head.

"Well met Miss Granger. And last but not least. Who are you lad? A bit older than a first year I'd guess." Ollivander said.

"Yessir." Naruto replied. "I've actually already got a wand of my own."

"I would expect nothing less. I remember every face I've ever matched to a wand, but I most assuredly don't remember your's young man." Ollivander said.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki of-" Naruto began only for the man's eyes to widen.

"The elemental nations? Oh it is a pleasure lad I assure you. I've always been awfully curious of the wandcraft of your Homeland. It's terribly difficult to visit with the Sage's Gift and all, not that I've had the time to get away from my old store to try of course. May I?" he asked as he approached Naruto. He held out his hands hopefully and for a moment Naruto thought to disappoint the older man. However while chewing his lip in thought he locked eyes with the old man and in the end could do nothing other than sigh slightly and draw out his wand for the man.

Ollivander marvelled at the piece while carefully handling it and slowly turning it over in his dexterous fingers. He made several hums and grunts as he analyzed the wand and the rest of the room slowly cept forward to peer at the wand as well causing Naruto to frown slightly at the others. A wizard's wand was precious to them after all and bound to their magical core in a fashion. Almost like an extension of themselves. Needless to say Naruto wasn't overly pleased with the interest they were showing in it.

"A wand of Reed, flexible, oh and what an interesting feature. A core made from a nundu tooth? What a fearsome and powerful wand. I'm sure it fits you to a tee Mister Uzumaki." Ollivander said with a smile as he handed it back to the boy.

"It's been good to me." Naruto said with his own small smile. He couldn't help the small pleased smile on his face as he felt a bit of pride at his wand.

"Of that I have no doubt, lad. Keep it close at all times, I'm sure you're bound to have need of it plenty often in the future." Ollivander said, leaning in slightly for added emphasis.

"Now to the young ladies. Who's first?" He suddenly said stepping back from Naruto once more.

The two newly made friends glanced at one another. They seemed to have a silent conversation and Naruto was slightly impressed by the speed at which the two girls had become close. In under three hours they had become friendly enough to base some interaction off body language alone. Similar to himself and his old team back home.

With a smile and a nod, Haley took a small step back letting Hermione go first. The girl blushed slightly realizing she was now the center of attention and somewhat timidly stepped up to the counter Mister Ollivander had moved behind.

"Now miss, your wand hand if you may." The wandsmith said, causing Hermione to stretch out her hand to him.

After a flurry of measurements that actually made Madam Malkin look tame in comparison Ollivander let out a long humm in thought. He stared into the air for a moment before letting a small elated sound and stepped into the back before setting a small box before Hermione on the counter and withdrawing a wand from within.

"Try this one, eleven inches of rosewood with a dragon heartstring core." He said as Hermione gingerly took it into her hand.

"Well go on give it a flick." He said reassuringly at seeing her confused look.

Following the order and flicking her wrist the whole room was filled with the sound of rumbling as the items on every counter and in every corner shook violently but thankfully stayed in place.

"Hmm the core is most definitely on the nose but let's try….ah yes." Ollivander said as he took the wand from Hermione's hand and switched it out for another.

"This is ten and three quarters, vinewood with a dragon heartstring core. Go on now, don't be shy." He encouraged her.

Slightly more carefully Hermione picked up this wand and a soft breeze blew across the room and swirled her hair around her. Her parents looked somewhat startled as did Haley, but the rest of the room looked rather pleased, none more than Garrick Ollivander himself.

"Excellent. The wand has chosen you. A good match I should say too. Now onto you Miss Snape." Ollivander said as he waved for Haley to step forward.

The wandmaker repeated the process he had with Hemione, though it seemed Haley was a bit trickier to find a match for. She went through multiple wands. Each one having a seemingly worse reaction than the last by blowing all of the man's drawers along the wall open and sending papers flying and exploding a vase to name a couple.

"Well, not one of those...I wonder." He said quietly as he once more stepped into the back and slowly retrieved another box.

He carefully opened and withdrew the wand and looked at it with an almost mournful stare before shaking himself free of whatever thought had clouded his mind briefly. He approached Haley once again, this time stepping around the counter to hand the wand to her. Almost the moment it entered her grip a similar gust of wind to what Hermione had experienced swirled around and a sense of energy coursed through Haley's body as she let out an audible gasp.

Ollivander shared a somewhat worried look with Lily and Severus, the former looking somewhat frightened and the latter grim as the grave. THey shared small nods that only naruto seemed to notice as they turned back to Haley with the breeze having died away.

"Curious. Very Curious." Ollivander said in a mix of apprehension and awe.

"Curious? How's that?" Haley asked him as he gently took the wand from her and placed it back into the box.

"I remember every wand I've ever sold Miss Snape. Even sold your parents their wands. It just so happens that the Phoenix, who's tail feather resides at the core of your wand, gave another feather. Just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand, when it's brother gave you that scar." He grew far more grim in his words as he gently brushed Haley's hair to the side to reveal the small lightning bolt scar on her forehead.

"That is quite enough Mister Ollivander." Severus suddenly said, taking both his daughter and her new wand back and away from the man.

His reaction obviously had the interest of the uninformed members of the group. Hermione's eyes were focused solely on her new friend, having just made the connection of why she recognized the name of Haley. Naruto was more interested in looking at the interaction between his friend's father and the wandmaker. Clearly something disturbing had happened in the past, enough to warrant the very protective nature of Severus Snape to rear its head against a harmless old man.

"Of course Mister Snape, forgive me. It is as I said however, simply curious that she would be destined for that wand." Ollivander said as he stepped back behind the counter and accepted payment from the adults for the two wands.

Choosing to move past the somewhat tense end to their visit to Ollivanders, Lily tried to pep up the group by insisting they stop for lunch before going on to their final stop at the familiar shop. The group was largely ambivalent and so was easily coaxed along by her, especially once she recruited her husband to help. Relying on his rather gruff and blunt manner to drag the group off to Tom's pub.

As they entered Naruto noticed something odd. Many of the people seemed very focused on the Snape family. Similarly to how Hermione had been acting since they had left the wand shop. However, gradually Naruto noticed that while they were looking at Severus and Lily as well their main focus of attention was clearly Haley. The poor girl had become deadly silent as more and more attention turned her way.

Just as the weight of the room settled onto the young girl's shoulders a booming thickly accented voice hollered over to them startling the crowd and thankfully pulling several sets of eyes away from Haley and her parents.

"Oi, Lily, Severus. Over here." The giant of a man bellowed out to them.

"Good there's Hagrid. Come on." Lily said as she and Severus led the group over to the half-giant's table and sat down upon greeting him.

"Looked like you were feeling a little under the magnifying glass there Snape. Thought you could use a friendly face to talk with you." Hagrid said with a smile after they had all placed their orders.

"Yes, you would think most of these pests would have something better to do with their time than gawk." Severus said acidically as he peered around at the neighboring tables of patrons.

"So it's really true then?" Hermione asked, causing Haley to flinch slightly and Naruto and Severus to narrow their eyes slightly at the girl.

"Which bit?" Haley quietly asked.

"That you defeated…you-know-who." Hermione said, leaning in closely and whispering the usual term reserved for the Dark Lord.

"I was a year old. How could I." Haley snapped as she looked down at the table before her.

"But you're the Girl-who-lived, doesn't that mean-" Hermione began only to quiet down when her own mother placed a hand on her arm.

"Sometimes it is best not to pry darling." She softly reprimanded, casting a small apologetic glance at Haley and her family.

"What few people bother to recall about that night young lass is that it were Misses Eileen that truly defeated the Dark Lord." Hagrid said with a nod to his own words.

"What Hagrid means…" Severus began sourly after seeing the confused looks of the Granger family and Naruto. "Is that as, He-who-must-not-be-named, he began targeting wizarding families that defied him. Ours was one such family. Both Lily and I were a part of the organization directly fighting him. We'd only had Haley for a year when he came for our home."

"We weren't there but Haley's grandmother, Severus' mother Eileen was. She was babysitting for us while we ran some errands. When...he attacked, Eileen was the only thing standing between him and our little girl. She gave her life to protect Haley and it warded her against the Dark Lord when he slew Eileen. When he tried to kill Haley…" Lily was clearly upset at the memory of what she and Severus had encountered when returning home.

"That is part of why we live in a modest wizarding village rather than out at one of the Prince Manors. There are far more people, and hopefully more assistance in the event of an emergency that way." Severus said.

"Always were the smart pair you two." Hagrid said with a chuckle changing the subject and bringing some amount of levity back into the conversation.

"You all seem to have been friends a long time. Did you go to school together?" Naruto asked, happy to change subjects seeing how uncomfortable Haley had become and how sad and distraught his hosts had as well.

"Oh no, I'm the groundskeeper at Hogwarts. I knew both Severus and Lily when they was first years clear to seventh." Hagrid barked happily. "Knew these two'd end up together I tell you. From the first time I seen them studying together by the lake when they were just little ones same age as you two lasses."

"So it was a childhood romance then?" Miss Granger asked with a smile, happy to have gotten past the darker subject and into a happier discussion.

"Well really we have Hagrid to thank for it. We had begun to drift apart at school and our friends didn't help things. Hagrid tricked us to come to tea at his place one night while we were fighting. He slipped us both just enough truth serum to make us be honest about our feelings as we argued and we both admitted to loving one another." Lily laughed, though Severus looked less than pleased that such a private moment was now openly known in a crowded pub. He was especially irritated with the small smirk on Naruto's face as he seemed to be teasing him with his eyes alone.

"How romantic." Miss Granger cooed.

The conversation thankfully moved rather quickly from there. In time they bid farewell to Hagrid, who evidently had official Hogwarts business to take care of at Gringotts, adn carried on with their shopping, moving on to the last store of the day. Much to Naruto's happiness, unlike the other places the shopping here the group was almost immediately within reach of what they needed. Each of them required an owl, to carry their post and mail, though Naruto contested that saying he had a familiar already that he could summon to him and that owls couldn't pass through the barrier to his home anyway. Lily had promptly told him that the owl was so he could send and receive mail from her. That clammed him up at the strange amount of individual attention she gave him. Almost like his own parent.

It got Hermione and Haley worked up to see what kind of familiar he had. So the rest of the time, picking an owl, waiting in line, and paying for said owls was spent trying to ignore their questions about his familiar. Eventually he couldn't stand it any more and simply summoned him to show them. A part of him felt like somehow Haley had begun to pester him on purpose to get her way and he wasn't sure how he felt about that revelation.

Still, with his dog familiar, Kova, now summoned, at least the pestering had stopped. Both girls seemed enamored with the creature. He was still pretty much a pup though he was large, being of a breed most similar to a husky as far as he knew. As the two girls played with and stroked the fur of Kova, Lily hummed in thought.

"Where did you get him, Naruto? He seems well trained." She asked as she watched the girls love on the puppy.

"Ah one of my mentors growing up breeds dog familiars and gave him to me as a gift not too long ago. He's a special breed that will live a lot longer but that also means he grows up a lot slower. More like a human timeframe." Naruto explained. His thoughts drifted to Kakahsi and wondered what he and the others back home were up to while he was here in Britain. He missed them but knew he wouldn't see them for at least a year, likely more.

"Well, we have all we came for. Thank you all so much for your help. It was far more enjoyable and less confusing with someone to guide us around." Mister Granger said as he shook Severus hand.

"It was no trouble. We must be getting home though. Naruto come here, Haley, you side along with your mother." He said before he and Naruto apparated soon followed by Lily and Haley. Leaving a shocked trio of Grangers staring where the four had just disappeared from.

The following week went by very quickly for some and drug on for others. Haley became far more manageable or Naruto and honestly 3even pleasant to be around now that she wasn't grilling him about his home at all times. Instead they both bonded a bit in looking over their schoolwork. Naruto was a bit disappointed with his own classes to come. Some of it was things he knew quite well and others he couldn't imagine ever needing back home. Still he supposed he was here to learn of the British methods of magic so he wouldn't complain….at least openly.

In contrast Haley was practically devouring the coursework for her first year and hadn't even gotten on the train. She'd had Hermione over twice in the past week and they'd both run through questions and excerpts they'd pulled from the book causing the older boy's head to spin, much to the Snape family's amusement.

Soon though the time came and the Snapes, plus Naruto, gathered at King's Cross Station so that Haley and Naruto could ride the train. Severus wasn't there to join them as he'd already gone ahead to the school to prepare for his coming classes. Lily was practically in tears hugging not only Lily but Naruto as well, completely catching him off guard and making him board as quickly as possible.

As they climbed aboard, Haley easily found the compartment that her new best friend Hermione had settled into alongside an awkward boy named Neville Longbottom and a boy that Haley had told Naruto about, Ron Weasley. She'd said he was annoying but good enough of a person. Which Naruto took as someone who annoyed people more than Haley and Hermione could. A frightful concept in his mind.

After introductions, in which Naruto realized he was the only one among the group that wasn't an incoming first year, the children all settled into a set of friendly chatting. Even Naruto was pulled into it and had a decent time.

Awkward as he was, Naruto had to say Neville struck him as the most likeable of the group. The boy was quiet and shy….he looked like a stiff wind could knock him over too, but still he wasn't pressing Naruto for all sorts of information like the other three had.

Haley caught his eye as the train chugged along and the others had all purchased some treats….well Naruto had purchased them all treats believing he might get a few moments free of their questions if the compartment were sharing a pile of candies and other sweets.

"We're going to be there soon Naruto, aren't you excited?' She asked. The boy nodded and smiled at her.

As annoying as these kids could all be, he couldn't help but enjoy their presence. It was so different from back home. Even when happy and cheerful in personality there always seems to be a hanging sense of melancholy and dread over every person. He realized he had grown used to it and come to compare the far more innocent and happy kids to others from back home.

'Maybe' He thought silently as his smile widened at Haley causing her to blush slightly and turn away from him for some reason. 'Maybe I can just try and enjoy myself here. Just let my guard down for a little while and be a kid.'

The thought of getting to simply act as a kid was...it was just as exciting as the thought of attending Hogwarts he supposed. And thinking about it, as he peered around the compartment at the friendly faces, perhaps these kids weren't all that annoying but more innocent. He could live with that. Hell he could enjoy that.

Yo! Alrighty, a chapter for a HP Naruto crossover that I doubt most of you saw coming. Now that we have set the stage for this adventure I hope you all enjoy it. Just a few quick notes before we go.

Naruto's relationships will all be slow burn. Sorry for those of you who are upset by that but I ain't about to have kids going at it. If you wanted that you need to get checked. Cause I think something is wrong with you.

Additionally I will not reveal the totality of the pairing. Just that yes it is a harem fic and that yes it will include HP girls. And a bit of a spoiler so stop reading this paragraph here if you don't want a relatively major spoil for down the road. Did you keep reading? Alright, the harem will NOT include any Naruto characters, but that is not to say he will not have a relationship or two throughout this story with girls from there.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed please post any questions you have either in my reviews or PM me. After this I will be cranking out a Phenex update at request from the Goat Server on Discord and following that we will be running our update cycle so look forward to that. I may have one or two other things I've written that may be posted as I'm updating but for now the focus is on building up what we have.

Till Next Time!
