Chazz: I can't take it anymore! The Chazz shouldn't live like a Slifer rat! This room is so small I can't even fit half my stuff in here!
Ojama Yellow: Ya know boss, getting stressed out like this is really bad for your health. I mean what about your blood pressure?
Chazz: Oh yeah? If you wanna help me then get lost. And if you wanna see pressure-
He slapped his hands together against the spirit, causing him to disappear.
Chazz: Finally, some peace and quiet.
Jaden: What's up?
Chazz: Ah! Ever hear of knocking?
Syrus: We would, but you haven't put your door back on its hinges after putting your bed in the room.
Chazz: Not funny, slacker.
Jaden: Well then, let's go for fun.
With those words, he and Syrus jumped on Chazz's bed like a trampoline.
Jaden: By the way, the Chancellor wanted to see you.
Chazz: Sheppard? What for?
Jaden: Don't know. He just said it was important.
After getting Syrus and Jaden to stop bouncing on his bed, they both followed Chazz to Sheppard's office.
Sheppard: I have some urgent news Chazz.
Chazz: I'm getting a bigger room?
Crowler: I'm afraid not Chazz.
Chazz: Then what?
Sheppard: Someone is trying to buy out the academy. And they plan to fire all the staff and close us down.
Jaden: Why would anyone want to do that?
Sheppard: Without us, they can control the entire dueling world. But fortunately, our owner has given us a fighting chance.
Flashback
Kaiba: You heard me. I will only sell you my academy if you defeat one of my students in a duel.
End Flashback
Sheppard: It all comes down to one duel.
Jaden: Then let me duel. I'll whoop this guy.
Sheppard: I'm afraid not Jaden. The duelist has already been chosen.
Jaden: Wait, do you mean Chazz?
Crowler: We don't know why, but they requested Chazz specifically.
The phone in Sheppard's office went off, and Crowler identified the number as the ones trying to buy the academy.
Sheppard: Put it on screen.
Crowler put the buyers through, revealing them to be Chazz's brothers.
Chazz: Lousy scrubs, what are you up to?
Slade: Come on Chazz, don't you know? Or did you forget our little family project for world domination?
Chazz: That was your project, not mine. You just used me to take over the world of duel monsters for you.
Jagger: Yeah, well now Slade is gonna do it for you.
Chazz: You mean I'm dueling Slade? Get real, you've never even picked up a deck before.
Syrus: If that's the case, Chazz will win easy.
Jaden: Even I can see this is a bad business strategy.
Slade: Actually, it isn't, because there are a few conditions. I get to use all these rare cards. You know, the ones we gave you to use in the school duel. And there's one more condition: you can only use monsters that have 500 or fewer original attack points.
Chazz: Say what?!
Syrus: Only 500?
Jaden: That's totally unfair.
Slade: That's the idea. And by the way, your owner already agreed to the terms, so you have no choice.
Jaden: Is that true Chancellor?
Sheppard: I'm afraid so Jaden.
Slade and Jagger ended the call, and Chazz turned around to leave.
Jaden: Where you going Chazz?
Chazz: To pack my things, which we all should do.
Jaden: I know you can win this Chazz.
Chazz: You're wrong Jaden. There's no way I can win this.
As Chazz was walking though the hallway, he could hear everyone talking about how he had given up against his brothers, some even saying they should never have let him back.
Jaden: You know what I think? I think you're all wrong about Chazz. I know he can win this because I've dueled him, and believe me, duelists don't come much tougher.
Chazz: Yeah, that's the problem Jaden.
Jaden: What does that mean?
Bastion: Honestly Chazz, you're not making much sense.
Alexis: Bastion's right. Being tough is usually a good thing Chazz.
Michael: It's not Chazz's toughness that's the problem.
Jaden: Then what is?
Zane: It's his deck. More specifically, his monsters.
Lily: Zane is right. None of Chazz's monsters have less than 500 attack points, so he can't use any of them.
Syrus: Is that true Chazz? Surely you've got a few cards that you can use.
Chazz: The only card I have that I can use with the condition my brothers set up is this.
He reached into his back pocket and pulled out Ojama Yellow's card.
Jaden: But you can't build a deck with one monster.
Banner: He may not need to. This is but a rumor, but given the circumstances, it's worth investigating. Supposedly, deep in the forest there lies an old well, and inside this well lies a great many cards, discarded there by duelists who believed them too weak to ever use in their decks. However, the spirits of those cards are quite angry at being thrown away.
Chazz: Yeah well, the Chazz has a feeling they're gonna perking up real soon, because I'm gonna find that well and enlist some new monsters for my deck.
He set off to find the well, Jaden following behind him.
Chazz: You know, you don't have to follow me everywhere.
Jaden: Well yeah, but who's gonna look out for you if you get jumped by angry duel spirits? I mean the whole academy is counting on you Chazz.
Chazz: Gimme a break. It's probably just a rumor like Banner said.
Just then, a spirit appeared in front of him before circling in the air alongside two more.
Chazz: Or not.
Jaden: Woah. They don't look too friendly, do they?
Chazz: Oh please, they're harmless.
Two of the spirits dove at them, but passed right through Jaden and Chazz.
Jaden: Nothing happened.
Chazz: Of course not. Remember, these are the spirits of weak cards. Kinda like the annoying roommate I got crashing in my deck.
They ignored the spirits and continued on.
Jaden: Look, there's the well.
Chazz: What tipped you off, the big hole in the ground?
They tied a rope ladder to a nearby tree and descended into the well. When they reached the bottom, they saw tons of cards scattered on the ground.
Jaden: Check out these cards. You could build a deck with these in no time.
Just then, two spirits wearing the same speedo as Ojama Yellow appeared, one green and one black.
Black: In case you knuckleheads hadn't noticed, this here's private property.
Green: Yeah, that's tellin' 'em.
Jaden: Say what?
Black: Numbskulls like you ditched us here so we don't want ya here.
Chazz: These two are a few cards short of a deck.
Black: Hey! Who you callin' short, chowderhead?
Green: Yeah.
Chazz: Listen, we didn't leave you here, but somebody did because you're weak.
Black: It's true!
Green: We're weak!
The two then embraced each other and began crying.
Chazz: Give it a rest! I'm sorry, okay?!
Jaden: We both are!
All the spirits in the well began sobbing as well.
Black: Nobody wants us, do they?
Yellow: What's the racket?
Black: Is that?
Green: I think it is!
Yellow: Black, Green, is it really you?
Green & Black: Our lost brother, Ojama Yellow!
Jaden: Woah, what a family reunion.
Chazz: Yeah, maybe a dysfunctional one. I'm outta here.
Jaden: What? You can't leave.
Yellow: Boss isn't a fan of duel spirits. He might decide to leave you guys here.
Black: What?! How does he think he is?! Look at me when I'm talkin' to you!
Green: I'd do what he says, he gets violent.
Jaden: So much for weak.
Green & Black: You're taking us!
Numerous other spirits appeared, wanting to leave as well.
Jaden: Well Chazz?
Chazz: Well it can't hurt. Anyone who wants to come with me can, under one condition.
Yellow: Let me guess, lots of hugs?
Green & Black: Hugs coming up Chazz!
Chazz: Okay! You can come with me, just stop trying to hug me!
Jaden and Chazz returned to Duel Academy and Chazz built a deck using the monsters they found. By the time he finished, it was time for his duel with Slade.
Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, today's match determines the fate of Duel Academy. Slade Princeton vs Chazz Princeton. Now, are you ready to duel?
Slade: If you wanna back out, tell me now.
Chazz: Fat chance.
Slade: Bring it.
Both: Let's duel!
Chazz: 4000 LP
Slade: 4000 LP
Chazz: I'll go first. I summon Soul Tiger in defense mode!
Level 4/Earth/Beast
ATK 0/DEF 2100
Alexis: With that attack point handicap, I bet we'll be hearing that a lot.
Jaden: Hey, with defense points like that, who needs attack points?
Michael: Still, I'm curious to see how Chazz plans on winning.
Chazz: You're up.
Slade: Thanks. My move. And I activate Polymerization and fuse Lord of Dragons with Divine Dragon Ragnarok.
Lily: This is bad.
Zane: With those cards, Slade can summon-
Slade: King Dragun in attack mode!
Level 7/Dark/Dragon
ATK 2400/DEF 1100
Slade: And check out his special ability. Once every turn, I can special summon a dragon type monster from my hand, so I'll summon Luster Dragon #2 in attack mode!
Level 6/Wind/Dragon
ATK 2400/DEF 1400
Jaden: Two monsters with 2400 attack points?
Chazz: Big whoop.
Slade: I think you mean big whooping. King Dragun, attack Soul Tiger with Fire Scourge!
His monster shot a jet of flames from its horn, destroying Soul Tiger.
Syrus: Now Chazz is wide open!
Slade: Luster Dragon #2, attack with Emerald Flame!
His monster breathed a jet of green flames on Chazz, taking away more than half his life points.
Chazz: 1600 LP
Jaden: Oh man, Chazz got nailed.
Bastion: So much for all those defense points.
Michael: Yeah, and to make matters worse, as long as King Dragun is on the field, Chazz can't target any of Slade's dragon type monsters for card effects.
Slade: Your move Chazz.
Chazz: 'Bout time, I draw! I set one monster face-down and end my turn.
Slade: That's all? If that's the case, this'll be even easier than I thought. I summon Luster Dragon in attack mode!
Level 4/Wind/Dragon
ATK 1900/DEF 1600
Slade: And next I'll use King Dragun's effect to summon Hyozanryu from my hand in attack mode!
Level 7/Light/Dragon
ATK 2100/DEF 2800
Chazz: Four monsters?
Slade: Congratulations, you can add. But tell me little brother, how's your subtraction? King Dragun, give him a lesson by destroying his monster with Fire Scourge!
Chazz's monster was destroyed, but hundreds of masked monsters appeared and surrounded Slade's dragons.
Slade: What is this?
Chazz: The monster you destroyed was Unhappy Maiden, and since you did, your battle phase automatically ends.
Slade: I end my turn. So you last a bit longer. It doesn't matter.
Chazz: Wanna bet? I draw! I call Spirit of the Breeze in defense mode!
Level 4/Wind/Fairy
ATK 0/DEF 1800
Chazz: Next, I play the continuous spell The Dark Door. As long as this card is in play, we can both only attack with one monster per battle phase. I end my turn.
Lily: That should give Chazz some time to make a comeback.
Slade: Nice try bro, but it's only a matter of time before I bust that door down. I draw! Now, King Dragun, destroy Spirit of the Breeze! I end my turn.
Chazz: My move! I summon Catnipped Kitty in defense mode!
Level 2/Earth/Beast
ATK 0/DEF 500
Slade: Is that the best you can do?
Chazz: Can you do better? I end my turn.
Slade: I guess we'll find out. I draw! Perfect. Now King Dragun, declaw that cat! Next, I'll place one card face-down and end my turn.
Alexis: A face-down card?
Zane: And my gut says he's planning on destroying Chazz's Dark Door with it.
Chazz: It's my draw!
Slade: And because it is, I can activate the trap Dust Tornado, and guess what's right in its path?
Jaden: I have an inkling.
Michael: Chazz's Dark Door.
A cyclone appeared on the field, destroying Chazz's spell.
Slade: Next turn, my dragons are all free to attack. This duel is practically mine.
Chazz: Actually Slade, you just cost yourself the duel.
Slade: What?!
Chazz: First, I play the spell Thunder Short! This card deals you 400 points of damage for every monster on your field, so with 4 monsters out, you take 1600 points of damage.
Slade: 2400 LP
Slade: Is that all?
Chazz: Nope, because I play the spell Excavation Work. With it I can send one card from my hand to the graveyard to draw another one from my deck, but that's not all. Since the card I sent to my graveyard was Ojamagic, I can add the three Ojama brothers from my deck to my hand.
Syrus: The three what brothers?
Michael: So Chazz found a copy of Ojama Green and Black in the well?
Jaden: Yep.
Michael: That's lucky for him. Those Ojamas are powerful in the right hands.
Chazz: Now I play the spell Desperado Manager! This card lets me draw 2 cards as long as I put three cards from my hand on top of my deck afterwards. Next, I play the spell Enchanting Fitting Room! With this, I pay 800 life points to look at the top 4 cards of my deck, and I get to summon any level 3 or lower normal monsters I find.
Chazz: 800 LP
He revealed his card, showing the three Ojama Brothers and his Pot of Greed.
Chazz: Pot of Greed isn't a monster, but the three Ojama Brothers are. I summon all three of them in attack mode!
Ojama Brothers
Level 2/Light/Beast
ATK 0/DEF 1000
Slade: You're kidding me. You pinned the hopes of your entire school on these little freaks?
Chazz: You bet I did. Sure, they have 0 attack points, and their personalities and appearance are the worst without a doubt, but these guys taught me something important.
Jaden: They did?
Green: The bond between brothers.
Black: That if they care about and support each other-
Yellow: That they can accomplish anything!
Chazz: That's right!
Slade: So what, I'm a bad brother?
Chazz: Yep, which is why I don't feel bad about doing this. I play the spell Ojama Delta Hurricane!
Yellow: You bet! Here comes-
Black: Our sure kill-
Green: Technique!
All: Ojama Delta Hurricane!
They began to spin rapidly before swirling around Slade's monsters, destroying them all.
Slade: What happened?! They're all gone!
Chazz: Ojama Delta Hurricane can only be played when all three Ojama brothers are on the field, and when they are, all cards on your field are destroyed.
Slade: So what? With no attack points, there's no way they can beat me.
Chazz: We'll see about that. You see, your condition has a loophole.
Slade: And what's that?
Chazz: I'm only allowed to use monsters that have 500 or fewer original attack points, so I'm allowed to boost their attack points if I want to. I play the spell Shield & Sword!
Syrus: What does that do?
Alexis: It's a card that switches the original attack and defense points of all monsters on the field for one turn.
Lily: So that's why Chazz said that Slade destroying the Dark Door caused him to lose.
Jaden: What do you mean?
Michael: The Dark Door affects both players. If Slade hadn't destroyed it, Chazz would only be able to attack with one of his Ojamas, but since it's gone, he can attack with all of them.
Ojamas
ATK 0-1000/DEF 1000-0
Chazz: Now, attack Slade directly!
The three Ojamas ran up and headbutted Slade in the stomach, causing him to drop to his knees.
Slade: 0 LP
Syrus: Chazz did it!
Jaden: He saved the school!
Chazz: You know the cheer!
Everyone: Chazz it up!
Jagger: Slade you idiot! How could you let him beat you?
Slade: Give it a rest Jagger. Besides, don't you see it? Chazz isn't the same as before. He's matured. Let's just go.
In Kaiba's office, he had just been told that Chazz won.
Kaiba: I didn't need you to tell me that. There's no way a student of mine would lose to an amateur like that.
That night in Chazz's room, he was less than pleased with his newly acquired roommates.
Chazz: Quiet! Get out of here, now! I didn't sign up for this!
Yellow: Come on boss, we just wanna be your friends. Let's get some pizza. I call extra anchovies!
Chazz: I don't want anchovies! And I don't want any friends, or roommates, or pets, or whatever it is you guys are!
Yellow: In that case, just call us family.
