Michael: Well Jaden, there's not much we can do right now.
They had camped out outside Tania's arena after Bass chased them out, and Jaden was growing impatient wanting to save Bastion.
Syrus: I hope Bastion is okay.
Alexis: We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Suddenly, they heard a grinding noise coming from the arena. The gates opened and Bastion walked out.
Jaden: Bastion!
They all ran up to him just as he dropped to his knees.
Jaden: Bastion, what happened?
Bastion: Tania, she left me.
Lily: She dumped you?
Bastion: That's right. I'm crushed.
Chazz: I'd say you're lucky.
Banner: I don't understand, she was so smitten with you.
Alexis: Yeah, what happened?
Bastion: We dueled all night, but I couldn't match her even once. She said I wasn't worthy of her, and that she wants someone who can duel at her level. I wasn't good enough for her, and now she's left me forever.
Later on, they had returned to Duel Academy, but Bastion was still pining for Tania.
Jaden: Is Bastion still tore up about Tania?
Michael: Looks like it.
Alexis: I had no idea Bastion had fallen for her that hard.
Lily: Poor guy. He's heartbroken.
Later on, Bastion received a call from everyone else, asking him to meet them in the duel arena.
Bastion: What do the lot of you want?
Jaden: A duel. To cheer you up.
Bastion: I can't. It's just too soon for me.
Jaden: Come on Bastion, you've gotta move on.
Bastion: I can't duel without my Tania.
Michael: Hate to say it Bastion, but Tania probably has no problem dueling without you.
Bastion: No, she would never. Not my Tania.
Chazz: Oh, gag me.
Bastion: You don't understand, we had passion!
Jaden: Uh, excuse me what?
Bastion: When I first dueled Tania, there were fireworks between us. You saw how our cards danced that dangerous duel monsters dance with each other. It was beautiful. If I can't have that when I duel, well, it's over for me then. My dueling career is finished.
Zane: But Bastion, she's a Shadow Rider. We have the world to save, we need you. And you're saying you're done?
Bastion: As much as all of you require my skills, until I prove to Tania that I am a worthy man, my dueling days are through, now and forever.
Chazz: Alright, I'm gonna go to the bathroom and hurl.
Jaden: Just duel her again. Go and ask for a rematch, and don't take no for an answer. I'll even be your wingman.
At Tania's arena, she was enraged after cutting Bastion loose.
Tania: This island is full of weaklings! I need a worthy partner! Someone who isn't intimidated by my power, and if he can't find me, I'll find him! And duel him!
That night, Jaden was looking over his deck.
Syrus: Jaden, don't you wanna go to bed?
Jaden: Not yet. I'm working on a strategy to help Bastion. Just call me cupid.
Chumley: Strategy? How about a good night's rest?
Suddenly there was a banging on Jaden's door. When he opened it, he saw an unexpected familiar face waiting for him.
Jaden: Bastion? What are you doing here?
Bastion: The rematch. Are you ready?
Jaden: You mean right now?
Michael: Yeah, and he already talked all of us into going, so I'd just say yes.
Jaden looked past Bastion and saw that everyone was standing behind him, some of them looking very annoyed with Bastion. They went to Tania's arena and encountered her and Bass as they were returning.
Bastion: Tania.
Tania: Can't you take a hint? I already dumped you, remember?
Jaden: He wants a rematch.
Tania: He can't have one. But you seem quite brave.
Jaden: I do? Thanks, but I'm here for my friend.
Tania: He already lost. I duel you or there's no duel.
Jaden: I never back down from a challenge. I'll do it for Bastion.
Chazz: What is he doing?
Alexis: Being himself.
Tania: You know the rules. If you lose this duel, you lose your spirit key and your single status, meaning you move into my arena with me and become my husband.
Chazz: I hope Jaden knows what he's doing.
Jaden: I sure do. And when I'm done, Bastion will know you don't have to be in love to duel with passion. By the way Tania, since Bastion took on your knowledge deck, I'll choose your deck of courage.
Tania: Good choice. Why don't we get this started then?
Jaden: You read my mind.

Tania: And due to her special ability, she gains an extra 100 attack points for every Amazoness monster on my field.

Tania: Next, I play the spell Amazoness Charm. This card will switch your Avian to attack mode and increase its attack points by 200.
Avian: 1000-1200 ATK
Michael: Even though his attack points were raised, since Avian is now in attack mode, Jaden will take damage if Tania attacks.
Bastion: Tania is simply amazing.
Tania: So, are we enjoying the night so far? Not getting distracted, I hope.
Jaden: Nothing distracts me from dueling.
Tania: Maybe this card will make you reconsider. I play the field spell Amazoness Arena, and as you're about to see, it's not just distracting, but captivating. Also, when this card is activated, we both gain 600 life points.
A giant cage formed around the arena, blocking Jaden and Tania off from everyone else.

Chazz: Wow. She's really gotta be desperate for a husband if she's gotta use a cage.
Tania: You see, Amazoness Arena is a sacred arena. In here, you don't just fight with your monsters, but with your soul.
Jaden: And just how do I do that?
Tania: You'll find out. But first, Amazoness Paladin, attack Avian!
Paladin leapt at Avian and slashed him with her sword, destroying him.
Jaden: 4000 LP
Tania: And now, due to the effect of my Arena, after our monsters battle, we can each pay 100 life points to deal 100 points of damage to our opponent.
Alexis: Watch out Jaden!
Jaden: Guess I should warn ya, I don't hit girls.
Tania: And you shouldn't, but this isn't a fight between us, it's our souls that will clash.

Sparks came off of Tania's monster before she exploded.
Tania: Impressive.
Jaden: I'm not done yet. Thunder Giant, attack Tania directly with Voltic Thunder!
Thunder Giant created a ball of electricity in his hands before launching it at Tania, knocking her flat on her back.
Jaden: Hey, are you okay?
Tania: 2000 LP
Tania: Not bad Jaden. You're my type of guy.
Syrus: Bastion, I think Tania is falling for Jaden.
Bastion: Of course not. She'd never leave me.
Everyone: He's delusional.
Tania: Alright, it's my turn! First, I set a card face-down and summon Amazoness Swords Woman in attack mode!

Zane: Perhaps he's fallen under the same spell that caused Bastion to lose.

Tania: Yeah yeah. Whatever lover boy. Now let's get back to business. Amazoness Tiger, attack Clayman!
Tiger leapt at Clayman, who knocked him back with ease.
Chazz: Why would Tania attack a monster that has more defense points?
Lily: To use that arena again.
Jaden: 200 LP
Tania: 900 LP
Chazz: He's still in there.
Zane: For now.
Tania: Next I'll activate the spell Amazoness Trainer to seal your fate.
Tiger: 1900-2300 ATK
Syrus: What just happened?
Michael: Due to the effect of Amazoness Trainer, when your Amazoness monster isn't able to destroy an opposing monster in battle, Trainer gives that monster an extra 400 attack points and allows it to attack again.
Chazz: And if it does that-
Lily: Jaden is finished.
Alexis: Don't say that. I'm sure Jaden has something up his sleeve.
Michael: He'd better, or this duel is over.
Jaden: Bring it on Tania.
Tania: As you wish. Tiger, attack!
Jaden: I've been waiting for this moment! I play the trap Clay Charge! When you attack Clayman, I can activate this card and destroy both our monsters, and that's not all, because it also deals you 800 points of damage!

Jaden: Hey, I'm just liking this all-out duel.

Tania: You fought well Jaden, but my Swords Woman will beat you. Don't forget, any damage I would take in her battles is inflicted to you instead. You can't win.
Jaden: Actually Tania, I can, and this card proves it. I summon Elemental Hero Wildheart in attack mode!

Chazz: They have the same attack points.
Chumley: Which means Jaden can destroy that Swords Woman without taking damage.
Alexis: You go get her Jaden.

The two monsters slashed at each other, causing them both to be destroyed.
Jaden: Now let's go Tania.
Tania: Bring it on.
Alexis: Tania is down to just 100 life points, so she can't use the effect of her arena.
Bastion: And I'm back down to Earth. Jaden has proven you can duel with passion without being in love. Now go get her Jaden, and win this match for us both!
Jaden and Tania's avatars clashed one final time, landing a blow on each other's face as the sun peaked over the colosseum wall.
Michael: It's over.
Lily: I've never seen two people duel with so much passion in all my life.
Zane: So tell us Bastion, how do you feel? Like a man still in the throes of love, or has this duel finally helped you rebound?
Bastion: Still in love, but with dueling. I see where the passion lies once again.
Jaden: I guess that's game. Let me know if you ever want a rematch.
Tania: No rematch. I joined the Shadow Riders to find a duelist who would be worthy to be my husband, but I have discovered that I am not worthy to be with someone as strong as you.
Tania: 0 LP
Jaden: 100 LP
Winner: Jaden
A purple glow surrounded Tania as she began to change shape, turning into a white tiger.
Syrus: A tiger?
Bastion: Is that really you, Tania?
Tania: Farewell Bastion.
Without another word, she turned and left the arena with Bass, leaving her Shadow Charm on the ground.
Bastion: Well then, I guess that this is it.
Chazz: You sure know how to pick 'em Bastion.
Jaden: Don't worry buddy. Like they say, there's plenty of fish in the sea.
Bastion: Yes, but not too many tigers. Thank goodness.
